Mason Jar Brews and Burgers

First impression was very positive. Restaurant was clean. Staffs were very attentive and friendly. Layout felt roomy. Decors were interesting. Party of 10+ and service was great. Food looked delicious, smelled mouth watering, tasted… no spoiler, you’ve definitely have to go to find out. I would come here again, definitely recommended.

This place is in an odd location and has very little signage. The parking near the door is small. Inside is a mixture of sports bar with dining on the side. Simple menu with many great choices. I had the pork tenderloin and substituted seasonal vegetables(street corn) and Gouda mashed potatoes. The pork tenderloin was good. Not what I am used to, but still good. The potatoes had no flavor. The Gouda did not come through. For dessert I had the apple torte. Great flavor with the Carmel drizzle.

The Mason Jar is quickly becoming our favorite spot. I wish it were closer to home, but it's worth the drive. Impeccable service - fast, friendly, accurate! Happy hour all day on Sundays. The fish and chips are the best I've ever had (and I order them often at restaurants). The cod is cooked to perfection and is so flavorful. The tartar sauce is great. It has a traditional flavor, yet it is kicked up a notch. There are a variety of unique appetizer options. My favorite is the Tater Kegs! You've got to try them. The Mason jar pulls together elevated drinks and menu items made to perfection with a comfortable atmosphere.

Came here for dinner for the 1st time, place was amazing. I ordered chicken fried steak and the meat was excellent and so was everything else. Great place to hang out with a big group. I highly recommend for any groups wanting to go out somewhere nice.

My husband and our son came here for dinner on a Saturday evening. The lower parking lot was full, so we had to park on the upper lot. We requested a booth when we checked in at the hostess table. They said it would be just a few minutes for them to clean off the table and seat us. We waited less than 5 minutes and were seated. The server asked if we would like drinks, and I ordered the jar of the month, cucumber berry spritz, a water. The other two ordered water and a coke. The server came back and took our food order. We ordered a tater keg, the prime rib, SOB, and macaroni and cheese with buffalo chicken. All of the food was really good. The temperature is perfect. We were all very full and had leftovers. The serving sizes were big! The only things that have room for improvement would be the mashed potatoes with the prime rib, were supposed to be Gouda mashed potatoes, and they tasted nothing like gouda. In fact, they just tasked like mashed potatoes with no seasoning. Our server also never topped off our drinks or offered to refill them, and we all drank all of our beverages gone. (Thus the 3 stars for service)

I've lived in KCK for over the last decade. I really don't know how I missed this place. I think it used to be a different restaurant, but damn I love what they've done with it. I went with the burger of the month because it was weird and I was in a weird mood. Completely worth it. Highly recommend stopping in for a tasty burger or anything that suits your fancy to be honest. They make their ranch in-house from my taste buds.

​We started with the Beer Battered Brat Bites, which were overly doughy and oily, with minimal bratwurst filling. I liked the subtle hint of beer. Our other appetizer, the Tater Kegs, was much better, hot and fluffy with a tasty cheese sauce. The All Fired Up Burger was a standard pepper jack burger. The Fish and Chips were disappointing, as they looked dark and tasted as though fried in old oil. The fish itself was smooth and not dried out, and the tartar sauce was good. The coleslaw was served warm and came in a tiny container. The Sweet Potato Fries are worth upgrading to. Overall, it met my expectations of typical American bar food.

This spot is solid every time we go there. Good food and the kitchen is pretty quick with the everything. The staff and attentive and helpful! It's pretty bare inside but it gives a nice bar and grill vibe. For sure will be coming back

We are on a KC Adventure outing and Mason Jar randomly popped up on Yelp. After looking at the reviews it was a no brainer to stop in for lunch. There was a slow start after being seated as no one had told our server she had a new table. However, that was soon forgotten as she took great care of us. We were drawn in by the reviews of the Tater Kegs (a MUST!) which we followed up with a Bacon & Bleu Burger with Sweet Potato fries. We enjoyed them both. There is plenty of space to come with a large group. The customers were of all ages and it seemed some customers were regulars. We liked that there were lots of windows so we appreciated not being in a dark place on a sunny hot afternoon. We plan to go back even though we don't live by.

We had a great time again at the Mason Jar! On this visit we tried the black and blue burger, and a pork tenderloin. Neither of these are our favorites compared to other items we've tried, but they were both good! The cocktail jar of the month was some sort of cotton candy, and it did not appeal, so we both got draft beers. They were very cold and served in chilled pint glasses. The service was great, we really enjoyed our server, I'm sorry I forget her name. It was starting to get pretty busy, it looked like a baseball game had finished up nearby, and I believe sporting KC played that night. We got our food quickly, and everything was fresh and hot. The restaurant is super clean, and the host was very nice as well.

While on the road to visit family and friends, we ate here for lunch. It was a memorable experience, and I am glad that we came for some good comfort food. The waitresses were friendly and the place was clean. They had a nice selection of local beer. What really made the experience notable was the ambiance with its unique theme.

The fresh Fish n chips were really good BUT the thick, meaty house made Chili won my heart. You can stand a spoon up in it and it's so flavorful with just the right spice and a few beans sprinkled in. Our first visit here from Wichita. Busy for an early Wednesday but was seated immediately and service was excellent. Clean place with plenty of space to sit and eat comfortably. Nice Bar area as well.

My wife and I were in the area so we decided to give them a try. Everyone was nice and helpful from the time we walked in. They were great at answering all our questions. The food and drinks were great. My wife had a Pineapple Whip with Sprite instead of Red Bull and I tried the Torn Label Alpha Pale Ale. For our food, the wife had chicken tenders and fries. The breading was seasoned just right. I had a burger called the Jr. I had it cooked medium, which was perfect. Overall we thought it was a cool place and plan to go back.

Second time eating here, both times have been so happy with our visits. I need to add this restaurant to our rotation on a more regular basis. Legit burger options! Love that they offer to sub a plant based option for my vegetarian kid. The fish and chips were tasty. Which is hard to find here in the Midwest. Staff is attentive and pleasant. Restaurant is clean and well kept.

I cannot believe I have never written a review! Me and the hubs love about 10 mins away from this place and it's definitely our go-to when we wanna get out of the house...or if we wanna pick something up! Ha! I've never had a bad item from the menu but their burgers are where they really shine, in my opinion! The SOB is always delicious textured and smothered in cheese and the burger or the month is always fun and unique. But honestly, the chicken fried steak, chicken strips, pork tenderloin...and don't even get me started on the tarot kegs or queso. The drinks usually hit the spot as well! Just...go!

We dined here recently--mainly because it was close to family--found out it's not your average bar food. Yes, it's a bar, very casual, but the menu surprises you in the best way. The prime rib wasn't over-cooked, the salads are fresh and legit, the fish tacos hold their own. Oh, and the sweet potato fries? Crispy delish. That was the hit of the show. It's comfort food with a twist--familiar, but just elevated enough to make you say, "Okay, we're definitely coming back."

This restaurant seems to be hidden so well! Ive lived in this neighborhood for about 3 years and did not know it was here! For me and my husband's first experience this was amazing! We loved how fresh the food is! The hamburger can be cooked to however you like as well!

Our family went to The Mason Jar after church on Sunday. The Internet was down, so they were working with cash only. The staff was gracious and kind. They quickly answered questions and responded to requests. Everyone enjoyed their food. We all had something different,which pretty much guarantees we will be returning because we all saw something else we wanted to order. All the tables around us were chatting quietly. There was a positive vibe. There were a nice amount of people without being crowded. The staff kept thing moving along without making us feel pressured to go. If you have not been to the Mason Jar, give it a try. I bet you will be pleasantly surprised.

Food was excellent and very accosting for my sons but allergy. I would recommend to anyone.

The service is always amazing, everyone is so friendly. The food is DELICIOUS. I highly recommend the garlic fries and the loaded house chips. They also have gluten free options for pizza and burgers. I highly recommend Mason Jar if you're ever in the KC area.

Wife saw the mason jar on TikTok so while in the area we made a lunch stop. We had a free appetizer thanks to Yelp so we got the deep fried brat chips and that was a great choice. The kraut mustard was good but hard to spread on the brat chips. It could have used a little warming. Flavor was on point though. Never thought about beer battering and deep frying brat chips but it works good. I got the all fired up burger and fries and I was impressed. You order a burger medium and it actually comes out pink! These guys know how to cook a burger. Seasoning was just right and the burger was juicy. Fries came out hot and crispy. Wife got pulled pork tacos and loved them. She said the pineapple jalapeño salsa had the right amount of heat and sweet. Her house chips were really good as well. They were crispy and not greasy or stale. Our server was working the bar and a few tables and he never let our drinks get low. Staff was great, food was great we will be back

This was good but not great. My sister and I got 2 different burgers. They were not as good as we had hoped or they looked online. The burgers were like frozen patties, not fresh made. The fries were good. We also shared a mocktail that was good but not amazing. I'd like to go back and try some of their other food, but the burgers aren't worth it to me.

Fantastic all the way around. Queso is great- just the right amount of spice. French dip is to die for. Perfect fries- crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Service has always been spot on.

It was fine until payment. Food was good, server was nice and we were a business party of several people. Our checks all had mandatory 25% tips added, no choice when using the card reader or anything. I asked if my bill could be itemized and was told no. I asked if it could be run with a line to write in my tip, and told no. I understand automatic gratuity for groups (and I'd already calculated the 20% I planned to leave if it wasn't on there). But 25% without my consent at a burger bar isn't cool.

I had nearly forgotten about this place until my daughter suggested we stop in for a quick bite. The Rueben sandwich was good and the slaw looked appetizing, however I didn't get around to eating it (shame on me)!How bout this...what began as saving half the Reuben ended with eating the ENTIRE sandwich! Unbelievable! I'm soooo not happy with my lack of self control. I guess it's kinda what happens when it was sooo good, hot, oooey, gooey and filled with savoury sauerkraut. What deliciousness, uuuooohhh chile. The service was phenomenal! We were well taken care of and had a really meaningful conversation with our waiter which left us feeling uplifted as we exited. There was a fair amount of customers including families enjoying a nice meal/evening and great food...quite a peaceful ambiance. The Mason Jar is literally the best kept secret in Wyandotte County...tucked away and waiting just for YOU!

I keep forgetting how bad this food is and every year or so I return for more disappointment. I have taken the wife and clients here and we always leave unhappy.

Came about an hour before close. Waitstaff very friendly and attentive! We were served by Brittanny and she was so kind and warm. Enjoyed the ambiance especially the light fixtures. All the food came out fast and well cooked! Such a good hole in the wall to stop by.

Love this spot not too far east of the Legends down State Ave. Mason Jar always serves up a great lunch or dinner option and they do just about everything, from single-serve pizza to a burger array to fish tacos. Check the specials board as you come in, as they are always making up something creative and tasty. There is ample seating throughout the dining area or find yourself a seat at the U-shaped bar, with plenty to choose from on tap and great sight-lines for all of their elevated TVs. Drink specials are also a consistent thing, and Bloody Marys or margs served up in a Mason jar? Yes, please! The burgers are made to order and are absolutely smashing! This visit had me sampling the 'Shrooms, Man, sautéed mushrooms atop a half-pound burg with Swiss melted all over it. Quick tip: they cook burgers to medium unless you ask for something different, so if you like your burg done under/over, make sure you let your server know (I like medium-well). Fries are standard but if you wish, try the Tater Kegs as a side. These gems are hand-made tater tots, mixed with cheddar and spices, and fried to a size far above your regular tot. They are deee-lish! They also come as a regular appetizer, but chances are that you won't feel like sharing, so a side can secure your own portion. There is a time and place where selfishness is allowed. The service is always super-friendly, the menu tends to stick with what they do best (save for those daily or weekly specials), and prices are absolutely lockstepping with the value. For a place that doesn't seem to advertise, you find out quickly that word of mouth brings Mason Jar all the business they need.

Don't let the photo fool you, the burger tasted great and it was 10oz of beef in what appears to be a simple grilled cheese. Never though to add a patty in a grilled cheese until I tried this. Service was ok for me, but I can tell that the bar tender was friendly to the locals walking in. The location is great for family or to hang out with friends. I would just be mindful that groups of people may gather at the bar to hang out which is not typical for most restaurants. Plenary of seating at 9 pm on a Saturday. Ultimately, the only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 is due to presentation of the food and a few issues with my order. I asked for sweet potato and I was brought regular fries, and my cup was dirty when it was brought to me with my drink. Those may have been one offs.

This was a untaxed atmosphere with very quick service. We had to eat and run due to another scheduled event and they were great about getting our food out fast.

Great service, food came quickly. Burger was juicy and cooked medium well. Beer cheese soup and salad were also tasty. Menu had good choices. Reasonable prices. TVs in the bar had MNF on. Will return if we're in the area again.

The Mason Jar offers great food and neat digs in an unlikely location. The food is pub fare, like big salads, pizzas, and chicken strips, but fresh, tasty, and on point. The vibe is friendly and kinda hip! It also looked clean and tidy. Some staff seem new to the service industry so be nice, and remember, we all were at some point.

Burger hit like Chris Brown. Chicken tenders were mid at best. Side note: the honey mustard will make your toes curl

Where do I begin? I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally decided to do it! Our server was great! So nice and polite...we went with the Jar of the Month, the Shimmering Shamrock, very good! Too sweet for me to have more than one though! But that's just my opinion, I'm not much of a sweet drink type of girl...it's Happy Hour all day on Sunday and we chose the Garlic Cheese Fries, deliciously the sauce was amazing! The All Fired Up burger was delicious too. The Tater Kegs were good but HOT! I will definitely be driving back to the Mason Jar soon!

We have been in no less than 25 times, food and service has always been great. Today went in for a late lunch around 2:30 we were seated right away. 20 minutes later and none other than the hostess had even been to the table. We waited a total of 25 minutes before leaving as none had even came to take our drink orders. Hoping its just a one off day as this is definitely not their normal service

Let me start by saying the food is great. The Parmesan fries are delicious. However, they were very short staffed on the day I went. There was a near by graduation they didn't account for, and the waiter was literally sprinting around the restaurant and sweating. He would occasionally check in and then forget to bring what we asked for. As far as the environment, the space is very cute, and the light fixtures have cute little mason jars on them. Overall, great food but didn't quite meet service expectations this visit. I would still recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

This is a great place. Everything we ordered was good and cooked to perfection. Good service. The inside is nothing to write about, but the food itself s truly great. We'll be back.

I checked out Mason Jar for the first time and was blown away by their burgers. When I arrived, parking was easy and there were tons of places to sit in the dining space and bar area for an appetizer I ordered the tater kegs. These are a staple if you're ordering an appetizer. after that, I tried the burger of the month and the jar of the month. Please change out monthly. I had the burger with bacon, jelly jam, and the peanut butter jelly jar. I was highly impressed by their burgers they were super flavorful and made with quality meat. There are tons of food and drink options to choose from. I will also add that they had great french fries with garlic Parmesan seasoning. Space service was super fast and friendly. Highly recommend.

I was impressed by the atmosphere, the service and the food. Walking into the place and I started to wonder if I had made the right decision. Came here due to Yelp reviews and they were not wrong. We enjoyed all the Mason jar drinks and the vast selection of beers as well as the burgers and HUGE salads. Well done Mason Jar!!

I have never had any issues when I go to the Mason Jar. The food is always Hot and delicious. The staff is friendly, the service is quick. No Complaints from me...

"Wings" were okay. I don't like drumsticks but I wanted to try them. Brussel sprouts could have had a little more crunch. We lived the decor.

I have eaten here on several occasions, and each time I hope that it is better than the last. The presentation of the food is good and the alcoholic beverages are good, however the food is always under seasoned or over seasoned. This is regardless of what you get. The potato kegs are the best things on the menu and what keeps me coming back.

We just finished an excellent meal at the Mason Jar! I ordered and enjoyed their Fish and Chips! Fish was fresh dipped and had that nice crunch well prepared cod needs. My wife says that her burger is the best she has ever eaten. Angelica took such great care of us. She is a real Rockstar of a person, teacher and server. Visited with the restaurant manager all through our meal and learned and shared some very good ideas and strategies . Hope to visit again and will be passing on a recommendation to our KC area friends. Cheers to our new friends at Mason Jar

Stopped here with our puppy on the way home because we were craving a burger and saw they have a small outdoor area. They were so very accommodating! I never knew this place was here all tucked away. We both had burgers - I did a basic cheeseburger (The Jr.) and my partner ordered the All Fired Up one with avocado and chipotle mayo. They were both amazing! And of course we had to get fried pickles. They were also really delicious. Not sure if they make their own ranch, but I definitely could drink the stuff ;) Our little pup got a special treat too which was so kind and unexpected. My only complaint is each time I requested a condiment, they forgot to bring it out but this could have been bc were the only table outside. Oh well. We will still definitely be back! Thumbs up!

Pros:Good burgers, good decor. Cons:Long wait and bad service. I enjoyed my burger and tater kegs, the waitress that took our order had a bit of an attitude, she got my husband's order wrong. Overall wasn't the best experience but if you want a good burger then it's worth checking out at least once.
