"When you pull into the parking lot, the first thing you'll notice is the killer tennis complex the size of the Parthenon. There are two playgrounds side by side for the little ones, and enough tennis courts to keep everyone chasing neon green balls. If you're looking for quieter activities, the South Peachtree Creek Trail is just over a mile and perfect for biking, running or walking." - Liz Shinn & Mike Rivera

Google
Really well designed and equipped park in Decatur. High quality kids playground on artifical turf, a couple of Pavillions, small soccer field and full tennis courts. We had a birthday party for my 2 year old grandson that was perfect. Plenty of serviced trash cans and working water fountains.

Google
Lovely public place for children in decatur! Some main positive points are, no issue for parking, covered spaces for weather and play areas for children, walking trails, badminton and small ground. Very neat and clean place with 5star management!

Do you ever find places that were so cool and it's almost like you have them all to yourself? These types of places just make it hard trying to keep them your own private Utopia , but then again you want to share them with others because they are just so cool. I will tell you about this place, but you pinky swear that you won't tell anybody else about our own little hidden Gem in the city

Google
Great place to take the kids and family. Two different playgrounds across from each other. One for toddlers the other for bigger kids. Very clean and well kept park. Picnic areas are covered and each have 1-2 grills. Plenty on benches around to sit back and watch the kids (nephew in my case). Walking trails with some hidden art around to spot. It truly is a hidden gem.

Google
Great place for your kids to play; clean park; all equipment works properly; bathrooms are clean. You can rent pavilions for the day, 3 pavillions to choose from prices from 75.00 to 150.00 for residents of DeKalb County. Plenty of benches to sit on. Separate toddler play area from the older kids. Swings for Special Needs also.

Google
Nice park, on the small side but good equipment, and everyone is super friendly.

Google
Nice place to walk however there are big holes in some of the wooden bridge areas. Be very careful when walking. There is also a cement path that is very nice to walk in the woods. Saw a beautiful hawk! Was not fast enough to catch it in flight 😔

Yelp
Really Nice Park, and it offers great views and fun for the kids! There's also a creek that runs through.

Yelp
This review is for the Mason Mill Dog Park, which is really not easily connected to the rest of the park. You have to cross the stones and the creek in order to get to it from the park side. However, if you enter from the other side from Clairmont or North Druid Hills Road, you'll find a parking lot and easier access. The park itself is not big but there are two sections for big and small dogs. The thing I love most about the park is the people... and dogs. There's a strong group of regulars who are very friendly and responsible. The park is maintained by Dekalb County and they could certainly do a better job of maintaining the park, and many of the regulars submit feedback and advocate regularly for this maintenance. For example, the park gets very muddy when it rains and there are rocks/pebbles everywhere which not every dog enjoys. It is nice to be located in close proximity to the trails and several of the owners take their dogs to the creek to swim and frolic off leash together.

Yelp
I ejoyed this park a lot. The South Peachtree Creek trail is a scenic paved and boardwalk trail that connect Mason Mill and Medlock parks. The trees provide nice shades while walking in hotter weather. It is a nice family friendly park with sports fields and a large playground.

David W.

Yelp
I love going for a hike here. Lots of good paved, or wooden deck trails. It's a benefit for the area. I found some colorful graffiti on the buildings that once were a water treatment facility. The trails run along a creek, so that's always nice. We saw a kinglet on our walk this day.

Luke T.

Yelp
Awesome playground. They have this gigantic tower for kids to climb up an the slide down. One of the nicer parks I have ever been to. Worth a 20 minute drive to visit this park. If you have kids that are under 12, this will be a hit for them. Parents can relax. Plenty of parking, its clean, park is well maintained, Restrooms are clean, plenty of seating and pavilions for rental if needed. I came by because I have 3 Pokemon trainers in the house and after the 5th Great Nest Migration, this park became the only Charmander nest in and around ATL. There were plenty of parking, and that helped manage the crowd. Plenty of folks were walking about, searching and catching these elusive creatures. I am also happy to see that there is a strict no-smoking policy. Which is great , cos all the kids are around as well. How many Charmanders.. well, about 10-12 were nabbed in 1.5 hours. Come get em before the next Great Nest Migration....

Yelp
I really stumbled on Mason Mill Park, as I started at Medlock park, walked the South Peachtree Creek Trail (which connects these two parks) and got to Mason mill, saying what's this place??? Mason mill is one of the more family friendly parks i've come across in the Decatur area. Front and center is a large children's play area, garden, tennis courts and recreation center where they hold classes for kids, senior citizens, etc. In addition to all of the great fun I mentioned, this also connects up to the peachtree creek trail, which is about a 1.2 mile paved and boardwalk trail, that meanders in forested area, parallels a creek, and goes behind and through residential area. Also along the main trail, you can see little stringer trails that go in and out of the woods, to creek beds, to forests, and other hidden trails that make this a really fun stretch of a walkway. Moving slightly away from the Mason Mill park foot print, the portion of the peachtree creek trail that connects to Mason Mill is far more photo friendly than the end at Medlock Park i'd say. Just a few steps away from Mason mill sets you up on a nice overpass walkway over train tracks that stretch as far as the eyes can see, and just a few more steps away is graffiti that misses nothing, not even the trees, and it's all kinda cool to see! For all you Pokemon go fans, there were several players spinning around with their phones out, trying to catch 'em all (or they were horribly lost). End of the day, Mason Mill is a park that has a bit for everyone from kid, to adult, to athlete, to Pokemon catcher, and you really should go check it out!

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time at this park. I've only been once and from what I gathered there's a children's playground, walking trail & tennis center. It was definitely pretty hot outside when I went but the trees offered a good amount of shade on the trail and there was a nice breeze. Not your typical park trail where the sun is beaming down on you. This a great park for biking! I noticed there were a few trail options I only tried South Peachtree creek trail which was very nice and not challenging. You are walking over a bridge the majority of the time in this direction which goes over the creek. Once I got to the street which I assumed was the end it was a little unclear whether the trail had ended.. maybe I'm not park savvy enough but i just turned around at that point. The park wasn't too crowded for a weekday evening which was great. I look forward to trying the other trails!

Latonja T.

Yelp
My first time and it was extremely enjoyable! I loved the way this trail is designed an amazing maze!

Yelp
Tucked away behind Golden Buddha off of Claremont Road, Mason Mill Park is a family friendly park. The public library is nearby as an added bonus. The play area for the kiddies is humongous. The ground is padded too for any soft landings. Nearby there is a basketball hoop. And a few feet away there is a small garden. There are sidewalks if you're wanting to loop around the park. I do believe this park's trail connects with another park. The whole path is paved and can be easily walked or biked. There are plenty of parking places here too.

Clint E.

Yelp
This review pertains to the path that begins in the back of the park, and not any other facilities in this park. The hiking path, towards the back of Mason Mill Park, is truly an Atlanta best kept secret! The path is scenic, and one of my favorite place to get exercise. The path includes flat and quite hilly portions. It's a good mix of easy and "hard". The bulk of it is of an elaborate, elevated, wood plank boardwalk style nature (not an inexpensive venture, to say the least). Follow the path towards the end, and it crosses over a subdivision street, and continues onward into a softball field. The path curves and dips through dense woods, over creeks, and over railroad tracks. Apparently there are biking trails intertwined, although I haven't used them. If you're looking for a great place to stretch your legs and unwind, the path at Mason Mill can't be beat!

Jacqueline W.

Yelp
What a beautiful park to take the kids. I am so lucky to have Mason Mill Park within distance. It is even a 2-3 minute walk from the Toco Hill Avis G. Williams Library. At this park there is ample space for kids of all ages. There are two play areas divided for bigger and smaller kids. Plenty of climbing, running, jumping, swinging activities for children. The parents were also friendly. The park has walking trails and a center - something I would definitely explore more. Excited to keep bringing my kid here.

Yelp
This is really more of a 4 star park, but I have a major personal complaint.. every single time I come to this stupid park, no matter what time of day, no matter if I've not eaten in hours, I have to visit their cold and dimly lit, stinky bathroom to take a massive crap. I don't get it.. it used to happen when we'd try to stroll down what I call "the bridge to nowhere.." cause we never made it to the end of it before I'd have to start literally RUNNING back to the bathroom before I'd mess my pants. ... so I stopped walking along that path.. bridge.. whatever you'd call it. Because it was clearly haunted by actual shitdemons. That didn't stop my need to always "go", though. Twice recently I've stopped by to let my son swing and play on the playground. Both times.. guess what? Surprise poop! Otherwise it is a pretty nice park with lots of places to walk, sports fields, and a huge playground.

Karena Z.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite park, but I could just be biased because it's in my backyard. Great place for walking, jogging, and socializing. Would recommend being cautious about what time you go because I have encountered some situations, but that does not make my other positive experiences any lesser!

Ashley R.

Yelp
Love going to this park and hopping on the trail for some long endurance runs. Also great for just walking.

Maleah G.

Yelp
I enrolled my niece in summer camp for a week here. An extremely affordable camp option conveniently located near my job. The staff were very nice and helpful. They seemed to really enjoy the work they were doing.

Yelp
I was meeting friends for trivia on Tuesday night, but I'm now addicted to my afternoon walks/hikes, so I had to get a little something in before meeting them. I searched for a trail between my office and the trivia spot and came across the South Peachtree Creek Trail in Mason Mill Park. And WOW. If I lived near here, I would use this trail as much as I could, just for a quick walk outside, even in WINTER. This is a PATH trail and is either paved or bridged the entire way, so it's smooth going. If I were a runner, this is a trail I'd want to run. There is some elevation but nothing major. There are a lot of people on this trail - runners, walkers, and bikers, but the trail is so wide (yay, PATH!) space isn't an issue. The park itself had a huge play area for children along with activity courts. I drove by these but did not have time to give them a closer look. The park was also clean and appeared to be well-maintained. I didn't spot any garbage (which is amazing considering the number of people walking through and cars in the parking lot.) Based on my one visit, this park may become a stop for me at any time of the day and at any time of the year. Two thumbs up! Yelp 100 #53

Yelp
Cheers to Mason Mill Park! There's lot to like about this delightful space in Decatur. This sounds silly but if you hate making a left turn on car-heavy roads as much as I do, there is a traffic light at the intersection of McConnell Drive and Clairmont, win! Parking is more than ample. The playgrounds are a hotspot for happy children and their parents, shrieks of joy will enter your ears. There are bathrooms by the playgrounds but I can't say that I've used them. Also nearby is what appears to be a multipurpose room that you can rent out or reserve; it was a venue for a baby shower on my most recent visit. There are several tennis courts in case you want to whack a neon green fuzzy ball around. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can stroll from Mason Mill to Medlock Park on the designated path. It's a decent walk though, about 30 minutes or so. Now that I'm a regular at the adjacent Avis G. Williams Library (a mega plus), I'm sure I'll be checking out Mason Mill Park more in addition to books, haha.

Lindsay W.

Yelp
WOW! What a great playground! I cannot believe that I had no idea this new playground existed. Not only that, but you can park right there and bathrooms too. It has a little kid playground and bigger kid playground, and a small dog park area. I hate to say it, but it makes Medlock Park look old.

Vivian W.

Yelp
We checked out this park because we were told it has a great paved trail, and since these days my walks always end up with a stroller in tow, a paved trail has moved way up on my trail requirements list. This park starts from two very large parking lots near a playground and some tennis courts. The trail is clearly marked and interesting. In addition to the usual trees and grass, there are little art pieces (graffiti art, a series of bird houses etc) along the trail. A huge portion of the trail is paved and shaded (awesome for the hot summer months) and takes you past the train tracks (where the train does occasionally pass by and may just wake your sleeping baby). The trail then continues onto a series of wooden bridges through the woods into Medlock Park. Just so you know (because I didn't), the trail is NOT a loop. If you make it all the way to Medlock Park, you will have to turn around and walk right back the way you came. Plan accordingly, especially in the hot summer months! The playground is very clean and well kept, and has CLEAN public bathrooms! This is a great park, a great trail, and really takes you out of the city into a quieter, peaceful place (except when that train passes by sigh).oko

Sofia D.

Yelp
This park is a perfect place for everyone of all ages! But note that the dog park is not connected to the actual park/trail. The trails are clean and well kept! Great story trail for kids next to the library as well. They have large tennis and basketball courts! If you keep walking down the trail there is a baseball ground too. Saw some people and their dogs playing in the stream that's on the trail! Will definitely come back!

Allison H.

Yelp
This was a delightful walk! Parking was really easy even though the recreation center was packed. The trail was easy to find toward back of park. It was very pretty with creeks and forest & I particularly liked that there was really no way to get lost. I get lost easy ;) It was paved/boardwalk the whole way and just enough people to not feel isolated but not overcrowded by any means. Trail ends at Medlock Park (I think) & you just turn around and head back. A little over 2 miles. This will become a regular spot for me for sure!

Robin S.

Yelp
This is more for the South Peachtree Creek Trail, which runs from Mason Mill Park to Medlock Park. While the concrete path is nice for a stroll, I like the off-path trails. In some places, you can imagine you're not even in a city. Also, the old water treatment building ruins have some awesome artwork painted on them.

Alejandro O.

Yelp
I don't know how or why, but this is the best small park I have seen in Atlanta so far. It's uber modern, everything is new and the kids go Nutts when they come here. They have rock climbing, swings, tunnels, games and extremely well kept grounds. What I liked the most is that for a brief moment I did not feel like I was in segregated Atlanta. This park has to be one of the most diverse places I have been to in Atlanta. It was Dope to see kids from all ethnic backgrounds playing together, in a Beautiful kumbaya-ish atmosphere. Having lived in NYC,London and SF to name a few real cities, this was a great surprise.

Sarah B.

Yelp
This is definitely a great park. Extremely easy to get to, clean and safe. The path is definitely the best part. It's interesting, a nice distance for running or walking, and extremely clean. The people that go to this park have always been friendly. Everyone says hello to each other and are considerate of one another. The playground is huge for the kids and seems to stay busy. The tennis courts stay very busy as well. Based on the signage, you have to pay to play. I'm unsure of the cost but they look like they are well kept and maybe worth the few bucks. Another yelper says there is a dog park. The only thing I saw that was fenced in was a garden. I'll have to google if they also consider that a dog park as well or maybe I need to drive around more. Regardless, the path is great for dogs as well. It's obvious that this park has been updated recently so I'm unsure of what it used to be like but it's definitely worth a visit now if you haven't been there in a while.

Jaz T.

Yelp
I'm absolutely in love with the walking trail. It's 1 mile of smooth paved walkways that allow you to enjoy nature, but not too much at once. I love the sights and sounds of trees, a stream/brook, and flowers. It's a fun place to discover!

Karen C.

Yelp
Mason Mill Park provides a lovely quiet haven from the roar of traffic of Clairmont Road, which is only a stone's throw away. There's a HUGE parking lot that's never anywhere near full. It offers something for everyone, from baby swings for toddlers to long, shaded trails for runners or leisure-walkers. For the ever-tireless children, there are 2 side-by-side playgrounds to run screaming up and down and all around on. The smaller one offers cute miniature playsets for the younger children, and right next to it is the big kid's playground. The area's always been kept super clean. There are public restrooms located right by the playgrounds, but I'm not sure if they're always open. Tennis courts are available smack dab in the center of the ginormous parking lot. However, it appears to require a membership of sorts, so they're usually kept locked. They are gorgeously kept courts, though, so be sure to check them out if you're looking to hit some balls. Right at the edge of the park, a well-kept walking trail begins. The trail leads to a bridge overlooking the train tracks, making it a great place to watch trains rumble by beneath you. Past the bridge, the trail leads into the woods and continues all the way to Medlock Park. It's makes for a super peaceful and (usually) quiet run. Definitely check out the park if you're in the area! It's a great reason to get your butt out the house and moving about for some exercise. Your body will thank you for it. :D

Yelp
Nice park inside the perimeter in the Toco Hills area. Right of Clairmont Road next to the public library. Lots of kids out here on the Friday before President's Day weekend. Clean and safe. Haven't done the trails yet. Will do it next time. Plenty of free parking.

Sara L.

Yelp
Bring your sunscreen and one of those ridiculous chairs with an awning attached to it. This park has next to no shade. If this were Gwinnett, the park would be decent. Because it's in Dekalb, it's one of the best. The playground is okay. There is plenty of space to play ball and run around (in the scorching heat) and covered picnic tables (some of the only shade). The walking trail is wonderful. It's kept and cared for. Dogs are leashed and there aren't so many bikes and skateboards that it makes it difficult to walk or run.

Irene I.

Yelp
The dog park is great! Right off of N Druid Hills Road with plenty of street parking. There are 2 completely fenced dog parks and water fountains for the pups. People leave toys for the dogs. Lots of benches for humans to rest on. Overall a nice community dog park.

Jomi H.

Yelp
Best park in Decatur area! Beautiful and easy to navigate. When you enter the parking lot, you can immediately see a community garden on the left, a large playground and an adjacent field with a pavilion. Towards the back of the lot is a tennis court complex that is typically quite busy. Past the tennis courts is the entrance to the walking trail, which one one side branches off to a gated apartment complex and on the other rises up to an enclosed bridge that stands above the railroad tracks. This is were the graffiti begins! It's bright and creatively commissioned to paint animals and other ambiguous social messages over ruined concrete buildings and half eroded stairs. If you depart from the paved path you'll find the ruins only a few feet away. If you continue on the path you'll cross an old stone bridge that crosses a river. Several dirt paths depart from the paved one to follow the river. Now THE BEST PART is the boardwalk. Massive wooden path that parallels the river and continues to the neighboring Medlock park.

Annie C.

Yelp
Mason Mill Park is without a doubt one of the best parks in Dekalb County - hell, in Atlanta! There's something for everyone. It's located behind the Toco Hills Avis G. Public Library; at the front entrance is a large, swanky playground -I wish it had been around when I was a little kid. In the same paking lot are two average sized tennis courts, complete with a pro store atop the stadium stairs. Behind the tennis courts, begins a lovely walking trail that's quite reminiscent of the beltline. There are currently bird sculptures by a local artist just before you hit the bridge, and as you get off the bridge there's a section of graffiti on remnants of an old building (it seems). It's a perfect photography setting. As you continue further on the trail, it becomes a wooden board walk that follows the creek for about a 30-40 minute walk. The trail stops on a residential street, but clearly resumes on the other side of the street. For how long after that.. I'm not sure, I never have the physical endurance to make it. One day.

Robert M.

Yelp
This is a long-winded review so you may want to skip to the bottom line. This is a great park in DeKalb County. The tennis center has always been here and at one time, besides that, there were only football and baseball fields. I grew up in this neighborhood and remember when this park was once home to Briarcliff Community Sports, which offered little league football (football cheerleading for girls) and baseball (softball for girls) to kids in the area. Now the fields are gone and in their place are playgrounds and parking lots with significant additions. There is a small trail connecting the first phase of the park with the Toco Hill-Avis G. Williams Library. You can see the library when you look past an enclosed water fountain / landscaped pond; a gravel trail through a small patch of woods leads from the park entrance area to the library parking lot. The first phase of the park (main entrance area) houses two playgrounds (one large / one small), a restroom building area, a large parking lot area, and an indoor activities / event building. The large playground has a large semi-circular wall flanking / enclosing the playground area and is great for securing kids in close view / proximity. Perhaps the best part of Mason Mill Park park is a hiking trail that goes through the woods from behind the tennis center all the way to nearby Medlock Park; however that is in the third phase by the tennis center parking lot. The second phase of Mason Mill Park is a covered park pavilion / picnic area and adjoining grass covered field. The 3rd phase of Mason Mill Park houses the tennis center, tennis center parking lot, and hiking trailhead leading to The Old Decatur Water Works and Medlock Park. Adjacent to the Tennis Center is the start of the trail head leading to Medlock Park. You will see back yards of condos on the right side. The first part of the aforementioned trail is a paved hiking path and bridge that goes over the railroad tracks over to the Old Decatur Water Works ruins. It is truly amazing with great views. The ODWW was the once the main source of potable water for the city of Decatur in the 1800s and early 1900s. You will see graffiti on old ruined walls / ancient structures. The next phase, is where you go over a bridge over a creek away from ODWW, and you will proceed up and over a paved ridge, flanking railroad tracks, going through some woods behind the tennis center, you will see the creek and back yards of houses on your right. The next phase is a "boardwalk" path going from the paved ridge area behind the tennis center and through woods (running parallel to Desmond Drive and N. Druid Hills Rd. to Willivee Drive). You will cross another bridge (with more views of the creek / back yards of houses) over the creek before you get to Willivee Drive. After you cross Willivee Drive you will cross yet another wooden bridge / wood boardwalk over a flood plain and enter the back area of Medlock Park. Near the back entrance of Medlock Park are cool / scenic trails, off of the main path, flanking the creek (near where the wood boardwalk ends and where a concrete paved trails begins). These are not clearly marked but they are easy to spot. Medlock Park is composed of mostly baseball fields and a community pool but there are some very cool trails / paths running alongside the creek. There is also a small playground for little kids. It is about a 30 minute walk from Mason Mill Park to the Medlock Park (and 30 minutes back). Bottom Line: Great park with three distinct phases and a great hiking trail that leads through woods to another park about a 30 minute walk away.

Almina C.

Yelp
This is a great park for a million different reasons... Whether you have a kid, a dog, or you're just looking to go on a hike/run... this is the place! I've lived near by for almost two years and I go to this park 3-4x a week. It's a 2.24 mile walk through and back if you walk on the paved path. When you get to the end of the paved path, it basically spits you out into another park, Medlock Park. You'll clearly see the park and some baseball fields. I usually run through the park and continue through the neighborhoods that are at the end of the path (Near Medlock Park). The neighborhood streets are endless if you're looking for more running/walking. The playground is awesome and fairly new. I don't have any kids but I can't resist playing on it after my run. There's some pretty standard bathrooms. Tennis courts are to the left when you enter Mason Mill. This park is always crowded and it's probably my favorite park in Atlanta. The place that people have mentioned in previous reviews that has graffiti is called "The Ruins." Graffiti artists have painted the old water buildings that are now basically art. It's a pretty neat thing to see. A lot of people come and get their pictures made in this park too. Umm, I don't know what else to say besides this is a great park!

Annie R.

Yelp
I love off leash dog parks in general, this one is fine. Nothing spectacular but its a 1/2 acre park with a water fountain in the middle. It does get a bit muddy after a big rain, but there are usually a few dogs there and everyone is pretty friendly. The dog park is off to the side when you pull in and are facing the park its to the left, you have to kind of follow a path it looks like you are heading into the woods.

Rae H.

Yelp
I took my kids to the dog park because they love dogs......and I don't want the responsibility and cost of owning one now. Today was our first visit to the "dog section". There is a large fenced-in area with several benches and a big area for the dogs to play. Poop-bags are provided, and surprisingly enough, everyone seems to use them. There was no poop visible anywhere. My kids, ages 4 and 10 got to meet at least a dozen dogs. The dogs and owners were all very friendly. This was better than a trip to the zoo and it was FREE!

Liz H.

Yelp
This place is right off Clairmont, turn onto McConnell and you're right at the park. Tennis courts, playground, two pavilions, I think. Plenty of parking space, clean area, and well-maintained grounds. It looks like a great place for young families to spend a weekend afternoon - there were a good number of kids playing in the bigger playground. I came here the other day for a BBQ, and it was perfect weather. I'd like to come back to try out the tennis courts - they all looked full though, so you may have to wait to play. Courts are in great shape - there's at least 4 courts, from what I can remember.

Tracie J.

Yelp
I found this park thanks to Yelp. It's really the perfect size and it has a great area for smaller kids. My 19-month old loves it there. They have two areas, one for bigger kids with larger structures and swings for big kids. The toddler area is just right with plenty of slides and swings for the small set. It's a very beautiful area with lots of trees and a walking trail. We get there pretty early and it's always so serene and quiet, which is nice sometimes.

Michelle K.

Yelp
I really enjoyed visiting this park for the first time and now it's on our list as one of our favorites to visit on Sundays. The park is well maintained and manicured. They have amazing tennis courts but am not sure if they are open to the public. The park itself has a beautiful layout. You find yourself enjoying the tall trees, the pleasant sound of flowing creek water and abstract spray paint art on concrete ruins of the abandon water works plant. Another bonus, which should be standard on all park trails, is that there are trail markers so you can keep a log of the miles you walk, run or bike. Definitely finding ourselves as regular visitors to this lovely park.

Kisha M.

Yelp
Awesome playground (two of them really). Plenty of free parking. Fairly convenient off 75 if you don't live in the area, which I don't.

Yelp
Swung by here to do the walking trails, which are way in the back by the tennis courts. Very nice paths, you go right over the train tracks. Didn't even know this place really existed, easy to miss one block away from the busy intersection.

Yelp
this is a review for the playground. Mason Mill Park is right by the Toco Hills library, which immediately earns a star -- because book time + playground = happy kid = happy mommy. in any case, this playground has it all! it's got tons of easy parking, and bathrooms are super clean. there are two main structures; one for Small Humans That Climb and one for Slightly Smaller Humans That Walk Like Drunk Gnomes. there's something for everyone: swings! tunnels! ladders! ramps! balancing walls! sidewalk to do suicide scooter runs down! and yes, plenty of space to kick a ball. the only tiny complaint i have is that the fence around the play structures opens onto the parking lot (no latched gate) -- but i don't know if this is an ATL thing or what. in any case, please parents, you should be watching your Tiny Drunk Gnome, not your smartphone (myself included). there are several covered picnic structures, so bring a lunch and enjoy!

Yelp
Great park! It's nicely maintained. My only complaint is that there is no shade so this playground gets very hot in the warmer months.

Yelp
What a great park. They have tennis courts, several playgrounds, walking trails and lots of parking. The PATH is a great place to go for a walk in the woods.

Yelp
The Mason Mills dog park sucks. It's two small fenced areas covered in tan bark and dog poop. This park is gross. Full of flies and poop. The dog owners that go here are not friendly, do not separate dogs by size, and do not pick up after their dogs. I've been here quite a few times. My small dog is friendly and well mannered. We stopped going here because my dog gets so stressed by the unsupervised, pack-mentality larger dogs. I don't think it's too much to ask that people WATCH their dogs and intervene when their dog is bullying another dog 1/3 their dog's size. Nor do I think it's too much to ask to pick up after your dog.

Yelp
One of the coolest urban parks, with so much variety. It starts with parking near the DeKalb Tennis center, then a nice newish paved path leading to high cool bridge over the railroad tracks. Along the way you will see interesting graffiti on old tanks and cement ponds from the water works ruins, and a landscaped meadow. Continue on the path and you can take trails off the side that go either along the creek or up and down the hills in the woods, or stay on the path and walk on the huge, high boardwalk that ends at a baseball park. There is a nice playground on the grounds at the other side of the parking lot, and also a senior center onsite. Can't beat the pros at the tennis center, where you can learn to play or sign up for a team of any level. Also the newer Avis G Williams library is just a left turn instead of a right into the park.

Yelp
My son and I visit this park and the nearby library 2-3 x per week. Fantastic playground and everyone is really nice.

Yelp
The dog park has moved. Current location for the dog part of the park is on the Facebook page https://m.facebook.com/MasonMillDogPark?_rdr Great clean park. Friendly dog owners and good dogs. People get there a little after 7 pm and it does get really busy. Bring bug spray for yourself .

Yelp
For my 2.5 year old son, this place is the coolest! From the really nice playgrounds (one for younger ones, one for older kiddos), to the beautiful walking trails behind the tennis courts, and my son's favorite part being the trains that come thru...this is one of the nicest parks in Atlanta! I only wish there was a schedule for the trains that come thru...as we typically go specifically to see them, and have missed trains the last couple times we've visited. Anyone know idea of times the trains come thru?

Yelp
OK the trail is very good, broad and well tended, but I want the dog park back. Where did it go? It is allegedly somewhere, say the other hikers. (Sulk)
