Massanutten Resort

This trip was much needed. The rooms were awesome. Very relaxing and everybody was just so friendly from the food Lion in town to everybody you encountered in the resort. Just amazing. The activities were pretty pricey but you should prepare for that going on a vacation or getaway. Other than that, fantastic time with the family, I can't tell it any better. God allowed me and my family to take this trip and I give all glory and thanks to Him for it. It really makes you think of booking a few more days but you must get back to reality. Thank you guys for the precious moments and memories created in massanutten resort.

Cockroaches! We planned a full weekend of skiing and booked a room here so we could stay overnight and enjoy it without worrying about the drive home. After a long, exhausting day on the slopes, we were looking forward to nothing more than showering and getting some rest. Check-in required a 10-minute drive to a separate building, which was inconvenient but manageable. After driving another 10 minutes back to Building 6, we finally entered our room, ready to unwind. As soon as we turned on the lights, two German cockroaches scattered across the floor. I was able to step on one, but the other disappeared into the room. At that point, any sense of comfort was gone. Instead of relaxing, we were worried about what else might be hiding in the room. Needless to say, we barely slept. This completely overshadowed our trip. When you book a hotel, basic cleanliness is the bare minimum expectation. Finding live cockroaches in the room is unacceptable and turned what should have been an enjoyable ski weekend into a stressful experience.

This presentation trapped us for at least three hours, completely wasting a significant portion of our vacation time that we could have used for resort activities.**Verdict:** Great location and setting, but the aggressive sales tactics are a serious drawback. Avoid the "free breakfast."

We stayed here Jan 4-11, 2026. The weather was in the 40s and 50s, yet there was still skiing and sledding going on. Our check-in experience wasn't great - we were rushed through and given inaccurate information. When we drove to our unit, the address was not in GPS as told to us, there are no street lights, and the building signs are on the smaller side. It took us a few tries to find our unit. We were in a first floor, two bedroom unit, and it was huge! Each bedroom had it's own entry so the resort can use each room as separate hotel rooms if needed. The full kitchen wasn't as stocked as I would have liked (no sharp knives, few cooking utensils), and we didn't have laundry in the unit. However, our unit was newly renovated within the past year or two so it was super clean and in good condition. The beds were comfy. We ate at two of the onsite restaurants, which were good. We'd stay here again.

I have been coming to Massanutten for four years, but after this experience I will never return. I attended a wedding event where they were promoting a “3 nights and 1 day for $100” deal, with the condition that you attend a so-called “tour.” What they don’t tell you is that the tour is actually an aggressive, high-pressure sales presentation that makes absolutely no sense financially. Once you do the real math, you realize you are not getting a deal — you are being taken advantage of. The sales team was the worst part of the entire experience. The service was terrible, unprofessional, and extremely pushy. They kept us there for nearly three hours, would not let us leave easily, and gave us three completely different prices just to try to pressure us into buying. After such disrespectful treatment, even if they had offered it for $50, we would not have purchased anything. The environment felt uncomfortable and honestly unsafe. Because of how aggressive and insistent the staff were — refusing to take “no” for an answer — we immediately decided to check out early. We only stayed one night, which was before the tour, because we did not feel secure around people we didn’t know who were acting so aggressively just because we declined to buy. This experience completely ruined what used to be a place we enjoyed visiting. The sales department is absolutely horrible, and the way guests are treated is unacceptable. If you value your time, your peace of mind, and basic respect as a customer, DO NOT GO THERE.

I am beyond frustrated with Great Eastern Resorts and Woodstone Casas. We’ve been loyal owners for fifteen years, paid off our initial debt, and never missed a maintenance fee. But now that we’re in our mid-seventies and on a fixed income, we literally cannot afford these ever-increasing fees anymore. It’s reached a point where we’re choosing between timeshare bills and our basic living needs. When we bought this, we were told we could sell it, but the resale market is a total nightmare full of scams. We’ve reached out twice now to ask for a release from our agreement, and they have completely ignored us. No response, no communication, nothing. It’s heartless to treat long-term, loyal customers this way when our situation has become dire. Avoid this place unless you want to be stuck in a contract that ignores you the moment you need help. They will send you basic responses you can tell are just computer generated, and they dont ready anything you send them. BUYER BEWARE!!

My boyfriend and I won a “free weekend stay” so we went up for Valentine’s Day weekend. The front desk checked us in, didn’t tell us which of their six hotels we’d be staying in and basically sent us out to figure it out ourselves. When we found our room, it was severely outdated. The fire alarm went off around 7:30 pm, stayed on for an hour, and ended up being a false alarm anyways. We knew there would be a timeshare tour, and our guide Tiffany was fantastic! She took us to see everything we wanted to see at the resort and then some, she was amazing. However when we got back from the tour and they were trying to sell us on the time share we told them simply that only one of us is employed, the other is in school, we are in our early 20’s we just can’t afford to partake in a time share at this point. They were pushy, which of course they always are, but THEN Tiffany’s MANAGER MATTHEW called my boyfriend A JACKASS and got up and walked away from the table. 10 minutes later he sent over a different manager Steven. He was nicer than Matthew but we still found him to be very disrespectful, telling us what we can and can’t afford, etc. After the interactions with these men I’ve completely written off the resort. The whole place is a scam and they’re just trying to lure more people into it. When you explain that you can’t afford it, they belittle you, talk down to you, and stoop so low as to call names. I did not find the behaviors of these men professional AT ALL, let alone qualities that should be present in MANAGERS. It was absolutely ridiculous, “winning” a free weekend is not worth the trip.

Skiing was good for the East Coast. Room and staff were top-notch! Food and drinks were fairly priced for resort (high as to be expected) but quality was consistently below average. Bring as much of your own food as possible.

First time snowboarding, and took an adult lesson with Gabriel(?), who was absolutely fantastic!! He helped us learn safely and gave great tips to help us get better! Definitely would recommend coming at least an hour before your lesson to have time to get anything you're missing (snow gloves, and then running to grab a second pair bc you've lost the first pair while getting your snowboard smh). The staff is so so friendly and thoroughly helpful! Will definitely come back, when conditions are maybe a little less windy/rainy, but still hd a great time! All the buildings are clustered together, which is helpful! The lockers in the rental area can reach capacity mid-day, but if you're able to snag one, it's helpful for storing water and shoes for the day.

I visited Massanutten on a Saturday and I was extremely disappointed with how unprepared they are to handle the crowds. The selection of rental equipment is poor and the lines and wait times for those rentals were insane. Maybe the slopes are amazing, but the logistical challenges I mentioned meant that I did not get to experience them. If you want to ski at Massanutten, I would recommend you take a day off so you can avoid the weekend crowds. Or bring your own equipment.

Went as part as a "promotion" for a 2 might 3day stay with the catch of being required to take a tour and them trying to sell you on a "time share". Based on my first encounter, we were supposed to receive a "hotel" room with either 2 queen or 1 king depending on availability. We got checked in and we got placed in one of their Condos, upon entering the room, it was not cleaned up prior to our arrival. Bed was not made, sheets on the floor, used wash cloths still in the shower along with used bar soap. 3 phone calls later, and an additional 20 minute drive back to the lodge for a room exchange we were upgraded to a king size full efficiency condo which was up to standards. For the experience, we took the tour per requirement to get our $99 deposit back and promotional credit of $50. What a joke. The pressure is on for them to get you to purchase a time share property with them. The more you say "NO" The harder they pitch there gimmick. We were paired with a young man last name of Eaves (afican American, skinnybuild nappy hair, glasses nose ring). I respectfully gave him the time and listened to what he was pitching WITH EVERY INTENT to still Decline their offer. Now, the more I said no and Gave my reasoning, the more agitated he seemed to get. Upon arriving back to "talk numbers " and myself still declining, I overheard a comment he made to his colleagues about "leaving my husband and I on the mountain leabing us to walk back". Who would want to stay at a place where workers make shitty comments becuase you declined their offer. My husband and I were so unhappy, we soad F* it and checked out a day earlier than our checkout date. They don't believe it the word "NO" and the food is overpriced and not worth it. We didn't even participate in any activities becuase it was not worth staying.

Just checked in for a weekend getaway. I arrived like so had to check in late. Was a little bit of a line but it moved pretty quickly. After checking in I had to go to another location for a parking pass. Always so annoying because they tried to get me to sign up for the "free breakfast" with a brief overview of the resort. Nothing more than a timeshare pitch and it's never brief so I declined. After getting to me room everything appeared in order. Room was clean and had all the essentials. The only issue was the old corroded shower head that looked like it should have been replaced years ago. Room was a good size and more than enough room to accommodate 4 people. One bedroom with a sleeper sofa. You could opt for a two bedroom if you chose but that would have been a bit more. I had my daughter with me so for the weekend one bedroom was enough. I will check out the other amenities tomorrow and give an update. After my first night in I have to drop their rating down a bit. Noticed the shower had cracks in it. I also noticed that they tried to renovate the place but the painters missed a lot of spots and spilled a lot of paint. Looks like the tried the old land lord special. The worst part of my evening was the paper thin walls and ceilings. You could hear every step and complete conversations for the people upstairs.

Will say we were a little bit hesitant initially because of the reviews, however, totally glad I still made the trip because it did not disappoint!!! We did a full day of adventures, including tubing, skiing and drinks at night. Tubing: Definitely one of the best I've experienced! Runs were very long and staff kept everything very organized. Skiing: When it came to the skiing, even though the tickets and equipment pickup was a little long, the wait was worthwhile as the lifts themselves are very efficient in getting people on and the runs are long and totally worth it! For those hesitating about coming for skiing and or tubing, I would definitely recommend it!!!

This is a pleasant stay for what we wanted, but as regular travelers it was a bit disappointing. We brought our 2 teenage boys down from PA for the Indoor Waterpark. I figured they would spend all day there. I paid extra for early checkin so I could relax on the deck with a book. I didn't get much time back at our hotel room. They called me to say they were done after an hour & a half. So a 3 hour drive for an 1 1/2 hours of play was hardly worth it. The package did include a $15 credit to the game room so we'll use that up before we leave. Events around the resort aren't advertised on the website. For example, Splash's had Bingo at 7pm on Saturday. It wasn't listed on the website under activities. I happen to see the flyer when I picked the boys up from the Waterpark. Now, maybe it was on the app. I wasn't going to download an app for a 1 night stay. Bingo was super fun! It was free & you won great prizes like arcade card, 1/2 off coupons for appetizers, and a free milkshake.. We ordered food and drinks that were really good, but at resort prices it would be a challenge for our family to pay that every night for dinner. The servers work their feet off during Bingo! Phenomenal job!!! The resort is massive. Seriously, HUGE. We had to drive to everything from Hotel 4. For just wanting a quick weekend getaway, we found this to be inconvenient BUT everything is well labeled & easy to navigate. Hotel 4 - what feels like the top of the mountain. It's directly in front of the conference center. Well lit parking that doesn't take away from seeing the stars. Clean fairly large room with 2 queen beds, bedside table, a table with 2 chairs dresser with TV (includes fridge), and desk plus obvious bathroom facilities. Nothing to write home about there. The TV service didn't function properly which drove us crazy! It would flash out & skip scenes which made watching anything frustrating. Thankfully the boys had their Switch so they played games & watched YouTube. Beds are standard innerspring mattress & hotel pillows. Heating & A/C work well. We had to use both. When we came in the room was to warm so we had to turn the air on. I'm looking forward to trying street curling today, but since every experience offered costs at least $25 that's all we could afford on this last minute weekend getaway. It's a fun resort with nice people. It's not a spur of the moment place. Save money and plan out your days for a visit here.

This review is only regarding the Fall Scenic Chairlift ride. We visited on a Wednesday so it wasn't crowded at all The staff every where, the general store and at each of the lifts were fantastic and so friendly. We really enjoyed this fun and different experience. Once we got to the top we really enjoyed the hike to the summit and the amazing views. I will note that the hike was not easy and if you have any walking issues, this is probably not for you. Lots of loose grave, rock scrambles and steep incline. Definitely a fun day. There is a restaurant at the bottom that was open and picnic tables at the halfway area. No restaurants or picnic tables at the top.

It's so fun here! There's so much to do. But there are no cameras in there parking lots by the buildings where we stayed. My car got hit with no trace!!! I filed a police report & they basically told me there's nothing they can do without evidence. Please invest money in cameras!!!!!!!!!

ZEROO STARS. DO NOT COME FOR VACATION. Especially if you plan on sleeping in they start vacuuming the halls as early as 8:30am. Called the front desk regarding my issue and instead of handling the issue i got transferred around with no resolution until i went to the front desk and just checked out early. So much for a 4 days vacation.

This was our third visit to Massanutten. We had a 1/2 kitchen condo, which is not the best if you like to prepare meals. They have an electric skillet and hot plate, which did not work. There are no means to heat water. The arcade was great. We hadn't been to an arcade in years, so we had a blast. We were hoping to play mini golf, but it was closed.

Awful, awful place. Avoid at all costs. The food is awful. The service is nonexistent. The hotel room was putrid--the shower didn't work (as in, no water; called maintenance but they never came all weekend), the room was not cleaned all weekend long and the front desk ignored our requests to have it cleaned, the light outside our room was blinking on/off, the carpeting in the room was filthy, splinters and rotted wood comprise the tiny balcony, the Wi-Fi didn't work, the crowds & wait times were inexorably long, the staff members had no idea what they were doing, and the resort itself is so spread out that you have to drive to literally everything you want to do. Most activities you must book far in advance, or else they're sold out and you miss out on your stay. The pool looked a breeding ground for giardia, there's extra fees for on-site activities like the escape rooms, etc. I'm sure I missed a lot of other issues, but this is a colossal waste of money. The worst resort I have ever stayed at. Please, please, please avoid.

My fiance and I won a raffle to get a free few days at the resort for 4th of July. We were initially excited followed by worried after learning that this was a timeshare advertising opportunity. We tried to cancel our free stay worried about getting scammed and reading the reviews. We were not excited to go due to the reviews on sanitation and pushy timeshare sales people. We arrived at the main building to check in and get all the information and required tour day which was the 2nd day of our stay. We were a bit anxious throughout our stay until the tour, but when the tour came, I had wished we had the tour sooner so that we could learn more about the resort sooner. We learned that there are some nice free hikes deep into the resort and other very nice views. On the sales pitch itself for the resort, my fiance and I declined. Our present or was very nice and not super pushy for us to buy the timeshare. The finance guy did his job and tried his best to convince us. In the end we still declined, and got through it without feeling too bad. Our room was in the far edge of the resort in the condos and we were pleasantly surprised that the room was fairly clean. There was also a nice jacuzzi in our room too. You can bet I took full advantage of this and I was very satisfied. In general I don't think Massanutten condos deserve such low reviews. People are doing their jobs, they are honest for what they are and I won a free raffle, so I cannot complain.

Starting this review EARLY so I can capture ALL the details; from the annoying check-in process to the very end. Fortunately, we booked an Air BnB down the street from this place b/c we were traveling with our puppies. The actual check-in, going to the front desk was fine. Wait... lemme back up. So we came here in April for my kids Spring Break trip. We stayed in Charlottesville, to check out the area but also visited the water park in Massanutten and the girls had a blast! Upon leaving the water park, a lady approached us about the time share thing. I asked her about where we would be staying and she showed me updated places, saying we would stay in one of the updated rooms. She showed pictures. It was nice! Cool. It was a good price for a 2-night Stacy for 2 adults and 2 kids with water park passes. So back to checking in. I'm signing and initialing papers and one of the papers has when we have to attend the presentation. 8 am in the friggin morning!!! Now, again... we're traveling with kids... young kids. When I was approached about this, I said I'd have no where for my kids to go. The lady said they want the kids to go, cause they'll probably appeal to the kids so we'll more than likely purchase a time share. Whyyyyy don't they have options for times??? I've been to time share presentations before and they usually have like 2-3, maybe more 90-minute time slots. We're going to be sitting through a presentation when we should be enjoying breakfast. It feels like we're about to wake up to get ready for work and school to attend a damn presentation. I can already hear the groans from my kids. Whatever! It took us a minute to find the place we were going to stay because while the lady gave us a map of the whole resort and a closer view, it was still very confusing. We stayed in Eagle Chase on Tilly, but when we get to the building we think we're staying in, there's no 'A' on any of the doors. The lady wrote 3207-A. All we could find was 3207-B. I call the front desk. They're confused. We drive a bit more to make sure we didn't miss a building. We drive back to the building and my husband tries the door with the key card. It works. Okaaaay... why wouldn't you put an 'A' on the door. OR clearly tell me "3207 and there will be a 'B' on the adjoining door, which is also the additional bedroom. Cause when we walked in, we didn't realize the locked door WITH NO DOOR KNOB also belonged to our unit. Before we realized that, I called the front desk again and let them know there are 4 of us and I only see one bed. Again, they're confused when I give them the unit info. I was transferred to a supervisor and had to leave a message. My husband just happened to unlock the door and pull the lock to open the door. Now let me also say, I called a couple times, asked for a supervisor and was transferred to vm. I left 2 messages within an hour. Never received a call back. The beds have NO comforters on them. There are none in the closet. It's not even a sheet. It's like a thin covering. We decide we're not staying in this place. My husband is pissed off. It's nasty. A bug in the doorway. Spider web in the entryway. Furniture is dirty and old. Floor is nasty with stains. I mean definitely a scene from the 90's and no one has stayed here in a minute. Is this supposed to get me to do a timeshare here???? Now listen, if this is your jam, or you don't mind this kind of stuff; I'm not judging. But what was marketed and shown to me initially in April and what we're looking at, clearly does not match. Cause if this place was shown to me, we would simply decline. No harm, no foul. So we decide all of us will stay at the Air BnB that I booked for my husband and pups. Fortunately, the place was pretty nice and spacious and only 7 min down the street from the resort. We find food (where we ate last time we came), to take out and eat at the Air BnB. While waiting about an hour for the food, cause they were crazy understaffed, I meet a nice couple who shares the same sentiment about this place and their experience. One of the ladies said she'll be posting her review as well. Next day we attend the presentation and it's 3 HOURS, not the 90 minutes it should have been. We were all given POOL passes and not the Water park passes I was promised. So I had to go back to check in to get the passes after already going to the water park and getting denied. I spoke to the Asst. Manager who was extremely unhelpful. She said she'd give me a call back after speaking to Marketing (which is outsourced) so the people at the park have no idea what Marketing is selling/saying to customers. Of course I didn't get a call back. She asked me what time I called when I mentioned this. Huh? Just check your vm. I left 2 messages. Pretty safe to say, we're NEVER coming back here. There are plenty of other resorts and water parks to take our kids.

This place is TOTALLY fine. We stayed in hotel 5 and I was petrified after reading the reviews that it would be AWFUL! Arrived on Friday evening, checked in and it was reminiscent of checking in at a vacation resort in the 90s as everything moved slow and there was a big long line. Saturday we went up on the ski lift to the to of the mountain (ahmazing) then we spent the rest of the day at the water park (super!) Sunday we had the 90 min time share presentation and left. Our room was dated and old, think 1980s vintage Lake Tahoe Ski Lodge All in all a great family weekend!!

We stayed at hotel #6 this past weekend. The hotel is in need of renovation. It appears that it hasn't been renovated in 20 years. It was clean but old. The food & service at the 2 of the restaurant we visited were great. The views were great.

It should be negative stars. People that work here are just flat out rude. Don't work here if you don't want to work there - simple as that. Everything from the skiing stuff (especially the skiing staff who yells at you and tells you to get out of the way for no apparent reason) to the disgusting brown colored water in the family hot tub that is at best a degree higher than cold pool, this place is gross - service and facilities wise. Everything is ridiculously overpriced, which we wouldn't mind if the service was nice, but I'm kicking myself for coming here and wasting my time and money. Food at the skiing area is gross and the hot chocolates are pure sugar water. Chicken wings tasted like they've been buried in the freezer and found 10 yrs later. Angus quesadillas were just ground beef with no cheese or flavor.. what in the...Stay away. There are better options.

We finished up our two week stay at Massanutten resort. The Summit 140U Check in = 3. The reason for a 3. the check in went well. Staff was knowledgeable and was both effective and efficient. But than you need to go to a second station to get your parking pass. Here is where you are invited to bfast and to do a survey. They say 2 hours, but it usually ends up 4 hours. Just give the parking pass at the same time. Yes they tried to do the pressure. It took 5 No's to get the parking pass. Check out = 5. Texted when checking out. Convient. WIFI = 1. Worked well first week. but went down on Friday and did not get working for units until Thursday. I ended up using my phone as a Hotspot. Called Maintenance who only could say provider was working on it. No clear timing on when ot would fixed. Communication = 3 I sent emails based on my experience. Got an email back. But the best is a call. I gave my cell phone number. Unit = 3. The housekeeping left laundry at the front entrance steps. I had to call the next day for them to retrieve the laundry. The unit was not plug and play. Ice maker was not operational. Maintenance took care of it Small bedroom windows cranks not functioning properly. Toilet paper holder large bathroom broken and was replaced. We did like the unit. Though could improve on kitchen support items. Need to call housekeeping for a pot to make spaghetti. Tongs were broken. TV was not working properly in the living room. Maintenance addressed it. Observation only. Screened in porch units do not have bbq grille. only the non screened in units. This was not mentioned at check in. Cost = 2. I believe that when inflation blew up back 2021. That everyone has used this to increase pricing. In the past stays there was no resort fee. Now they had add $9.00 per bedroom fee. Housekeeping does not check on a regular basis to see if you have any needs. The meal cost are anywhere from $15.00 and up. As one person noted deep pocket place. They have a concert series and if it is happening that is $15.00 per person. Why i note this is because base camp restaurant is near the band stand. On the night of the event if one wanted to eat only needed to pay $15.00 per person to get in. Two coupled left because they wanted to eat only. Were told no. We enjoyed our time. I liked the screened in porch. Would we go back again? Probably not. If one wants to get a group together and have units close by great. For those who ski. mountain bike. or water park yes Though the water park is at a min $50 for a day. As some said, you need to drive to everything. In conclusion it was a good experience but the cost etc. There are other option for us. We like the ocean and this helped us decide future locations will in that geographic type locations.

Food quality, service, cost. Beautiful area but - can spend my $$$ elsewhere and have a better experience. WiFi here is horrible but I expected such being in the hills. If ya come here, bring your own grub to make.

We were looking for scenic getaway for late summer with dog friendly accommodations and gave Massanutten a try. Our check in process was smooth but there was a huge push for us to attend their timeshare briefing. Other than that it was pleasant. We booked a premium townhome but it's really a condo. They provide the option for dog friendly units which you have to submit a request for and receive approval upon which you have to pay a $225 pet fee and they advertise the dog friendly units as having dog beds and pet items such as dog food etc when requesting pet approval. We requested a dog bed but was not provided one. We went with the Summit and it has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom has a full bathroom inside and a king sized bed. The second bedroom uses the hallway full bathroom and has two twin beds. We were able for bring our dog which was great. Cleanliness was okay, the master bedroom has a pretty apparent BO smell and we found it was from the fabric shower curtain. And there were splotches of what looked like blood on the sheets of the master bedroom. The walls of the units are quite thin, we can hear footsteps from the neighbors next to us and above us. Another downside to this resort is the distance of all the attractions and restaurants. You will need to drive everywhere. And we've found the most popular restaurant in the resort was overpriced with terrible food. So would recommend going out of the resort for food. The first night we were here there was a crazy thunderstorm and the power went out for about 30 mins. We were in complete darkness with no cell service. The wifi and power throughout the next day flickered on and off several times. We came for a scenic getaway so didn't venture out to the waterpark or golf courses. Overall, it was a decent late summer getaway. We may come back in the winter for the skiing experience.

My boyfriend received a call that we had won a free stay at Massanutten because of a sweepstakes we had entered at a Tides game. We went into it knowing it was for a timeshare sales pitch, but figured the time spent would be worth it to get the free stay. They tell you it will only take 90 minutes and that there is no obligation to purchase anything to get your reward. Well, the initial salesperson we encountered was Joey, who seemed all right at first. He talked for an hour before my boyfriend finally brought up the fact that he's been trying to sell us on a timeshare for the past hour and we still haven't even seen what it looks like. Joey says that he'll show us in a minute and that he'll be right back. Fifteen minutes later, Joey comes back and says let's go look at it. At that point, we had fifteen minutes left of our 90 minutes. Then Joey has to go to the bathroom. Oh great, another 5 minutes go by. By the time we're looking at the lackluster rooms they have to offer, the 90 minutes have come and gone. When we get back to the sales area, Joey says we have to look at the numbers now. Oh man, if only we had had the time to do this earlier! But, as you can imagine, it was really important that we sat there for an hour talking about literally anything else, first. Well, Joey is unsuccessful in his sale, poor guy. Time to bring out Matt! Matt was pretty personable and surprise, surprise, gave us a much lower offer than the one Joey was on about. Nice try, but no cigar. We came into this knowing we were walking away with our reward, and nothing more. Eventually, Matt gets the picture and we're directed towards the checkout area. We're feeling triumphant, we got through the scammy sales pitch unscathed! Enter: Michael Allevato. Immediately, his vibe is absolutely diabolical. The first thing he says to my boyfriend is, "So, I heard you made Joey an offer." Naturally, we're befuddled. What does that even mean? We made no offer, nor accepted one. We ask what he means. He repeats himself. Okay... So, seeing no polite way out of this conversation, my boyfriend hits him with, "The only offer I made is that we get our reward, and we leave!" Oooh, little Mikey did not like that one! I am not being in any way facetious when I say: He gets two inches from my boyfriend's face and screams, "THEN GO!" Ohhh, so you're psychotic? Got it. He yells at us to go several times and we go back and forth a little bit. I ask him what the f*** is wrong with him. He doesn't answer but I can only assume it's either crack or lead poisoning. While he's screaming after us, we flee to the checkout room where the cashier yells, "STOP!" at crazy Michael like a fifth grade teacher in an unruly classroom. Immediately after, she starts checking us out like everything is normal. Just another day at work, having to yell at a middle aged man to quit verbally harassing would-be customers. Interesting job, for sure. Then she lets us know there's a secret door to escape through so we don't have to face Mr. Crazy. Thank goodness! Final boss defeated! Or so we thought! Take a guess who's on the other end of the secret door laughing it up and pointing like a child with a gathered crowd of sales department cronies! You guessed it! Michael Allevato. This time he has the whole room of prospective timeshare buyers as an audience! Bullying the people you were unsuccessful at swindling in front of people in the process of being swindled is...a choice. At this point, I don't know Michael's name. I was too distracted by his spittle flying into my face to check his name tag. My boyfriend asks him what his name is. At this point we are at one end of the hall and he at the other. Still, you can practically see the steam coming out of his ears at that question. His response is just to continue screaming at us to get out. Well, that won't do! I pull out my phone's camera and approach him, my goal to take a picture of his name tag, while my boyfriend is following closely behind. My boyfriend following behind me is what set him off. Psycho Mike-o comes barreling toward us like a charging bull. He's got his finger pointed out and he's essentially pushing us out the door, still screaming at us, but his irate ramblings are unintelligible. At this point, I'm thinking it must be crack AND lead poisoning, because this dude is 1000 different levels of unhinged. We leave with our prize. Sorry suckaz! Unfortunately, my story is far from unique. I've read multiple stories of aggressive, borderline abusive assaults by Massanutten sales employees after just a quick perusal of recent reviews. This seems like a commonly used tactic that is encouraged toward the end of unsuccessful sales pitches and it's honestly sick and twisted. Please beware of engaging in Massanutten timeshare tours. Also, after the roaches we encountered on our visit, I'd avoid Massanutten altogether.

I went to Massanutten resort for the fall foliage. Half of the ski lift was broken and not functioning during the peak weekend. We were promised to be refunded half of the amount. Still to this day, have not received a refund. I'm sure there were a lot of other people that day that also did not get to go up nor get their refund that was promised. In addition, Massanutten resort is also extremely disorganized and siloed. If you give them a call, expect to be sent in a circle with no real answer to your question. Disappointing.

Checking in was not the best part of this experience at all. The associate helping us did not know what he was doing, and actually gave us the wrong address for our rental. Luckily, we were able to locate it on the map and figure our way out. After you speak with the initial associate, he send you to a sales person who tries to sell you everything in the book. That was pretty frustrating. Other than that, the rooms were clean, the area was nice, there's so much to do close by and so much to eat. The staff was friendly. We would definitely visit again.

What a beautiful property. It was my first visit there and it did not disappoint. We stayed in the regal vistas on Chadwick Drive. We had a beautiful view of the sunset each evening. Our unit was very nice, we had to get a couple of repairs made. Maintenance man showed up immediately for any request we had. We made good use of the grill. Every morning we walked the neighborhood. We attended trivia night at the Grill. We also made good use of the waterpark and we took the chair lift halfway since there was an impending storm at the top of the mountain. Also visited the driving range and so much more. Looking forward to my visit next year.

The "luxury" condo master bedroom was freezing and so was the master bath shower water temp. Beds and Bedding 0/10. Bring your own if you need more than a sheet and a puff of air for a pillow. Overall food at the resort was awful and extremely expensive for the quality. The pools were not clean and the indoor Hot tubs were not working. If I came back, I would get an air bnb in Harrisonburg and then commute for something on the resort. Unfortunately was a one time trip for me and my family.

Massanutten Resort-Woodstone is where we stayed. Nice Modern however the shower head had black MOLD and the other shower heads had some too. It's a modern update timeshare. It's a simple place no fancy bells or whistles. Good place to take a family especially if you have really young ones under 11. It's all man made snow which threw me off I wanted to see it and it's pretty hard. Not the floury soft stuff. Good for summer activities lots to do and all close by. Again for for family fun. Less expensive then other ski resorts in the country.

We had a fun 2 night vacation at Massanutten despite some unhelpful staff/directions. We loved the ski lessons and skiing. The townhome was nice even if a little older. The main reasons for 3 stars: There is no sign at the entry of the ski resort. We passed it as it is a hairpin turn without any notification. None of the activities are well designated or explained. We couldn't find the Family Adventure Park to get the tickets for tubing. I went to 3 different lines to get the tickets and ski passes for my kids ski lessons. No one knew where to go and each one said to go to another place. We booked a Skating lesson in advance and when we showed up for the lesson they said we couldn't do the lesson then because 2 busses had shown up. They should know when a large group is coming and not sell lessons at the same time. We were able to do the lesson later, but the teacher was not quite ready to begin. The indoor waterpark was only ok. We stayed for less than 2 hours as there wasn't much to do other than the lazy river and a few slides. We were also cold. There was a hot spring that was only a little bit warmer than the rest of the areas. We wanted to shower at the waterpark instead of 6 people waiting for the one shower at our hotel. There were only 2 open showers to rinse off in (not enclosed to take a real shower). Don't plan on being able to get ready there. The restaurant was very expensive. We had 2 burgers and 2 sandwiches with soft drinks it was over $100. The prices for food at the ski lodge and all restaurants are very high. We went for a trail ride which was supposed to be from 11am-12. We arrived at 10:40am. They said it would be about 15 minutes to put the saddles on. We waited and waited (with staff arriving unprepared carrying their boots). Finally started at 11:50 and the ride was only about 30 minutes. Do not listen to the sales pitch for time shares or get a breakfast to do a survey. Had to get around a sales pitch just to get my parking pass. Any "free gift" will only be a very long sales meeting with aggressive sales. Owning the time shares is not worth it. This resort would be much better if they focused on customer service, guest information, and some better signs.

It's a timeshare and it lives up to every bad stereotype of timeshares. We checked in on a Friday evening and the line was still incredibly long despite four front desk people. The reception/check-in was the ugliest. Raggedy and slightly dirty carpet, unattractive ceiling tiles, very low ceilings, random bedroom dressers being stored up against the wall, and lighting that made everything and everyone look faintly diseased. We get to our unit's building and there is a pile of bagged linens and trash on the lawn. I had to call housekeeping the following afternoon because it was all still there after we got back from a day of shopping, museums, and coffee shop hopping. Our unit was a ground floor in the wood-something area, which is supposedly freshly renovated. It looks like I did the renovation. I have zero DIY skills, btw. Initial impression of the unit is decent, with updated furniture. The bathrooms were clean, the shower/tubs were adequate but old (remember those 90s brass shower doors? Yep.) The beds? Squeaky, no padding and has dips so deep you kept rolling into it like some torture trap. To make matters worse, you realize you can hear every single footstep from your upstairs neighbor. Unfortunately, we had a large group of kids who liked to play dance-dance revolution while wearing wooden clogs until past midnight. We asked security to give them a little knock and warning after 11pm (we couldn't access their actual front door as there is another key-access door that leads to their shared units. Security didn't do diddly. In all, it's a crap timeshare. Lessons learned: get a top floor unit, tiptoe across your floor as your downstairs neighbors will absolutely hear, don't expect a modern bathroom, and boy those beds had dips deeper than the Mariana Trench. I gave it two stars because the kitchen was well furnished and there was laundry in your shared unit. No laundry detergent tho, so bring your own.

Their WiFi is very bad and they don't give you soap to wash your balls and the bathroom is very smelly and the refrigerator barley works so we had to drink very hot orange juice

For the price I paid, I would say this place is not worth it. It's pricey per night and not a lot of things are included. You have to pay to do anything. The Rec center that they charge you extra for, you still have to pay to access any of the games, pool table, air hockey, etc. I'd say it would be better if they included the water park in the fee. There are other water park resorts that include it. The amenities, restaurants, and activities were all below average in my opinion. Pros: It's spacious and you can book rooms that connect. It was clean for the most part (except for the jacuzzi. Didn't use it because the jets were dirty).

Service - Jordan's front desk was super helpful when we checked in. They were super busy but he took his time with us. Justin the concierge was friendly. And Savannah was a really incredibly personable sales person. We understand it's a timeshare resort. Only negative thing is that Savannah told we would get free breakfast and a visa gift card if we talked to someone to give "feedback" on the property and new changes. However, that turned into a 4 hour commitment of breakfast, driving around the property, your if two different rooms, and chatting with one of the big bosses. Knowing the whole time we were not gonna buy an additional timeshare. Meh. Not again. Activities- depending on the time of year you can ski, water park, skyline drive, game rooms, pools, gyms, golf, and other activities daily. They even have a shuttle to take you from place to place. Rooms- we luckily were places in a new area. 2bd/2bath. King size bed with attached bathroom, 2twins, shared bathroom, pull out couch, and patio. Beds were comfy, had everything we needed and common spaces well maintained.

Bedbug infested condo!! We stayed there on Thanksgiving weekend and had a horrible experience. The furniture was dirty, the heat was not working properly it was either freezing of burning hot in the bedrooms. I didn't realize I got bitten by bedbugs until the last day of our trip and I only saw few bites on my back but by the time we went back home my whole body was full of bites including my face. Thank god my kids didn't get bitten it would have been a nightmare. I had a really bad reaction to the bites they were extremely swollen and itchy I couldn't sleep at night for a few days. We had to put all our belongings in trash bags wash and dry them as soon as we got home and we're still not sure if we brought bedbugs home with us. Also please beware of the tour they claim is to get feedback about a new hotel they're building and to show you around! They will get you by offering a $150 gift card but will make you pay a deposit to make sure you show up. Your deposit will not be refunded to you card but in the form of a gift card. The $150 is not worth the time you will have to spend there. You won't get the gift card or your deposit back unless you stay for the whole tour and the sales pitch. The tour is not for feedback but to try to sell you a timeshare for $14000 + an annual fee of $630 for life. If you refuse to buy you will get a nasty attitude! The waterpark is nice for kids but don't stay there get an airbnb instead. Stay away from this place!!

If you are the outdoorsy type....you would love this place. Stayed in a "condo" type setup. Tidy and adequate. Small things could have been better

First time coming to massanutten resort. Did a quick overnight trip. Straight shot on getting here. We went to the waterpark first since we couldn't check in until 5pm. The waterpark was not bad. Enough to keep my daughter entertained for a few hours. With my own research I already new the food on the property wasn't the best so I didn't have a problem travel outside the property for dinner. Reason I'm docking points is the check in process was a bit chaotic. The line was coming out of the doors. And I know the staff can only do so much but I felt they moved a little slower. I booked the 2 queen bd option but I guess they were sold out and booked me for a king with a pull out couch which I had no other choice but to take it lol. Overall everyone was nice and I would be open to coming back in the winter to check out the ski slopes!

2023 Review: We went during MLK weekend and had a blast! The lines weren't long and check-in was smooth since we purchased our tickets online and just used the kiosk. The rental area has been rearranged so it's less crowded and hectic, which was an improvement I didn't realize would make the total experience that much more enjoyable. Most of the slopes were open and well manicured - barely any icy spots. The lines at the lift were kind of long during the day, but they thin out towards the evening so if you purchase a 8hr lift ticket you'll still be able to get your monies worth. Make sure to eat lunch or grab a drink in the yurt! The yurt was a cool place to hangout, grab a bite to eat, and socialize with other people around the bar - definitely an upgrade from the cafeteria. Also, there are plenty of TVs throughout the yurt, so you won't miss the big game if it's on!

DO NOT FALL FOR IT. Won a "raffle" to come visit the resort to experience what it offers etc. SPECIFICALLY asked if it this was going to be a timeshare thing and they said no. BUT IT WAS. The "hotel" they put you in is like the other reviews pretty much a motel. Old and dingy. Then they make you sit through a 2 hour long tour/presentation with a sales rep to get you to buy a timeshare. Our sales rep was friendly and we let him know right away we weren't interested so he just went through everything he needed to do but cannot say that for other sales reps. Pretty much this is a scam to get you in to try and sell timeshares. The breakdown of the prices also make no sense as you are just losing hella money year after year. REMEMBER DO NOT DO IT ! :)

Tried to pull me and my partner into a timeshare scheme after saying I won a "free trip", after tour we receive a voucher valid for a year.... NOTHING WAS AVAILABLE FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR!! They will shove that timeshare down your throat after the first NO, more people will come up to you and try. They will get really rude after you insist that maybe we should do more research. once we said "down payment could be $4, we still wouldn't do it without further research on our own" they were heated!! Place was pretty musty and severely out dated. Please don't fall for that mess, best option is stay off the resort and go and ski during the day, saves a lot of money. Wish there was a zero star option honestly

Would not recommend.Yvonne is by far the rudest most inconsiderate person working. She makes this company look terrible and unprofessional. When arriving last night and unloading 2 of their stairs were broken, not only did by boyfriend fall, but less than 2 steps letter I had fallen down and have bruises and cuts (we decided to come in this trip after new decided to come on vacay after a miscarriage). I asked to meet Yvonne is apparently terrified to meet me. Emily, Brian, had the best customer service & we appreciate them making up for or trying to make up for Yvonne's terrible service, But please fire or remove Yvonne - this woman is a cancer to this company. Will upload photos of unlight stairwells as well as the security report made. This was my first experience here and needless to say women like Yvonne need a humbling experience.

Black mold in jet tub. Bedroom door wouldn't close. First time snowboarder -paid for 90 min lesson - shown how to bind in and nothing else. Told go try and see how you do.

Weekend visit to see what Massanutten is all about! The drive up with nice, though a lot of curves. Glad they have a security gate upon entrance that's enforced at nighttime. All in all, I understand the woodsy/rugged feel they might be going for but for the price people are paying, upgrades in the villas would be nice. Everything was just old; a little crusty and rusty. Visited the gaming center until it was time for us to ice skate and half the games were broken so that was a bummer. Walking around the grounds was nice. I'm glad we could get close to the ski area even though we did not sign up. Many activities are hard to get in but we lucked out with the snow tubing. 90 minutes but with how long the lines are you're only able to go probably 2-4 rides. I'd suggest asking a kind person for their pass if they finish early. Mini golf and the go karts we're both really fun! Nice weekend getaway trip. Stores and restaurants about 15 minutes away.

I stayed here over the Memorial Day Weekend & 2 days after. The Amazing friendly Staff, the easy check-In , the Scenery in the mornings Serene!!... It was My Boyfriend's First time as I go with my family often, So I wanted to treat him to somewhere Nice and relaxing since he works hard as a chef., All my days were sunny but one. It's very peaceful , relaxing and nature scenery and deer!!! which all was needed. The rooms are comfortable and beds cozy to sleep on if you're anemic tho and need a thicker blanket it's one in the closet. The Hot tub/Jacuzzi was heavenly ,The full kitchen and fireplace was niice, My boyfriend did all the cooking and we toured the resort . My highlight was the wonderful places off the resort . Went out where the locals hang ,The Urgies cheesesteaks & Billy Jack's & Kline's Custard style Ice cream spot. It was a wonderful relaxing time , my boyfriend enjoyed his time so much he approves to go once a Month lol . Nevertheless we definitely recommend this place , he already told his friends lol . So thank you massanutten for making our stay wonderfully memorable

We just visited the Massanutten Resort, and stayed in a one bedroom Condo. First of all, the property is like amazing art work...it's definitely God's Country. We saw deer up close and personal...and other animals...there was a deer, that laid right outside our condo, it was magnificent. There are so many bad reviews of the one bedroom condos. Number 1, when we got to the property, the check in was pretty fast. We were called to the counter, checked in, had to fill out paperwork in regards to the vehicle we were driving...they just wanted to license plate...after that we were given directions to the condo, and we were off...it's a huge property, and it was after 8:30 pm and dark at that time. Massanutten is on a mountain, so definitely follow the speed limit signs, and be careful. Number 2, again, we are on a mountain, so make sure when you park in the lot, use your parking brake... Number 3, yes, there are a lot of stairs to get to some of the condos, but not all of them. Number 4, the furniture was actually really comfortable, and the condo wasn't dirty at all...we did see a few bugs, but that was it. The biggest concern we had, was when the condo next to us was occupied, and we noticed that the walls really are thin. You can hear everything, when your neighbors were in a specific room, but when they weren't, you couldn't hear much at all... And also, because it's such a huge property, it's hard to find everything you want to do...so, stay a little longer, and you should be able to do more around the property. Some of the pools actually cost money, or there was a pool for owners and their guests, so if you find yourself at a pool like this, don't sweat it, they will redirect you to another pool that is free... The pizza at the bbq and pizza joint, wasn't cooked long enough, and was very doughy...for the pizza, it was a 3 out of 10...go outside the property to the Italian Restaurant that is right on the main road, they are the best... We would seriously give the property an 8 out of 10...if we didn't have neighbors the last night we were there, it would have been at least a 9.5...and the last .5, would be if they had a shuttle service, to and from different areas of the resort...

Soooo.... This review is being typed while I'm at the resort now. If you have kids and looking for a cheap way to take the kids somewhere, then sure. If you are single or married and want to take the wife/gf somewhere .... Stay clear. This place is old and you can hear EVERYTHING. Above you. Children running, doors closing, people's phone conversations in the hallway and outside of window. If you want sleep, you won't get it here. If you wanna get to golfing.. maybe. Overall... accommodations so bad we left after first night

Do not buy a timeshare at Massanutten. You will have to pay much more than it is worth, and you cannot sell it. They will not buy it back ever. The annual "maintenance" fees on top of it are insane, especially considering you only get 1 week a year. And you do not get discounts worth anything for being an "owner". If I could give them no stars I would.

Great Accommodations and lots to do for the whole family. Regardless of age. Golf, hikes, mini golf, skiing, snow tubing, ice skating, water park etc.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Let me preface this with, I am a timeshare owner, and have been coming here with family for the better part of two decades. We used to love it here before management changed. This time we stayed in condos and starting off our rooms were not ready when we got here at 4pm. The room is newly painted with furniture and mattresses from 20 years ago. Pull out couch? More like garbage bag full of springs. We chose to sleep on the floor instead. The second day we were here my young female cousin was let to run out to the car. On here way out she was approached by a man who asked her "What yours favorite color?" and asked her to come with him to "see his ring". Upon running and coming back to us we reported this to the main office who said that they would report it to security. We called back later to check the status and Security has never been notified, most people were not even aware a complaint was filed including supervisors in the main office. A resort where child kidnappers are welcome is not a place to bring your family. The third thing to ruin this trip and my view. Everything closes at 5/6/7 pm. There is nothing to do in the middle of the summer when it is still light out. Aside from this every activity costs an outrageous amount. Making soap? 35$ per bar, tie dye? 60$ per shirt. Wanna go to the water park? well you have to reserve online or its 85$ for a park that is open for 6 hours. The only notification of this massive increase in price is a single line of text on their website at the bottom. This did not exist under old management, and there is not even a few hundred people at the park to justify the need to reserve previously. I have no idea why the new management decided to start jacking up prices, lowering quality, and using straight up scam tactics to rob guests of every extra dollar. I will be using my timeshare points here as everyone of my 12 family members here have agreed that we NEVER want to come back again. Upon talking with the front desk briefly before writing this, I was told "well you should have called security they should be notified of this" and offering no recourse or action to even moderately make us feel safe or secure while they rob us blind.

Not a bad place but unfortunately not sanitary due to infestation of mice. Called management and they just sent me to voicemail.

5 stars goes to the staff at the ski resort and the instructors who gave my daughter and I skiing instructions. This was our first time skiing and the experience so was well that we're going to be returners. All of the staff is very friendly, supportive and pleasant. The process from booking the lessons, time on the slopes and rental equipment was easy.

The Resort is nice and the views even more nice. I don't know what you guys be saying about this "Hotel." First of all it ain't no Hotel it's a big resort, so get it right. The houses on the resort are nice especially the Regal Vistas and the ones on the top of the Mountain. The rooms are very clean and presentable. There is a lot of things to do on the resort such as golfing, arcades, swimming, skiing, going to the waterpark, and a lot more. In my view this is a 5 star resort.
