I would highly recommend anyone staying in Naples to stay at Masseria Guida. It is such a relaxing area, tucked away from the crazy hustle and bustle of Naples. It's near the foot of Mt. Vesuvius so it's just a quick drive to and from. It's about 15 minutes outside of Naples and about 20 minutes from the Pompeii Ruins by car. The food is also delicious, but beware that they do fry most of their items. I would definitely suggest eating at their gourmet restaurant.
The people here were welcoming, but cold and impersonal. I think they have a different standard of hospitality -- not better or worse, but they are there to do their job and to do it well, not to chat. I would frequently try to engage with them, but their English is limited and my Italian is limited so we managed to get by. Giovana is an absolute angel and took care of us through dinner. The views, though, are what makes this stay so worthwhile and I look forward to coming back.
