I really loved this Italian place! The food was amazing, the pizza was full of flavor and the prosciutto was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, making it a very nice place to sit and enjoy a meal. What I’m truly obsessed with here is the gelato. It is honestly one of the best gelatos I’ve ever tried! There are so many flavors, and trying the gelato inside a croissant and in a brioche was something completely new for me and so, so good. I tried several flavors and loved every single one. I would definitely come back again just for the gelato alone. Highly recommended if you love authentic Italian food and incredible desserts! 🍕🍨

A True Italian Feast: From Perfect Pasta to Heavenly Gelato Massimo offers a complete and authentic Italian experience that goes far beyond just one great dish. While it's famous for gelato, every course on the menu deserves attention. The meal started perfectly with their handmade Spaghetti Carbonara. It was rich, creamy, and exactly as it should be—no heavy cream in sight, just eggs, cheese, and crispy pancetta. You can truly taste the craftsmanship in their fresh pasta. But the surprise star for me was the Sweet Potato Gnocchi. These little pillows were incredibly light and fluffy, with a subtle sweetness that balanced beautifully with the savory sage and butter sauce. It was a unique and memorable dish that I'd come back for. And of course, the grand finale: the gelato. With over 48 flavors, choosing is the hardest part. We sampled the Pistachio, Stracciatella, and Tiramisu—each one was dense, creamy, and bursting with real flavor. It’s the absolute best way to end a feast here. Vibe: A warm, bustling, and genuinely Italian trattoria in the heart of Bali. Tip: Come hungry, share dishes to try more, and definitely leave room for multiple gelato scoops!

We had a wonderful lunch at Massimo. He welcomed us personally. Every time we visit his restaurant the quality improves! Pizzas are the best of Bali and the Spaghetti Carbonara is something you need to absolutely try creamy and rich of taste. Obviously the ice cream is something you need to finish your visit with! This is a VERY popular Italian restaurant in Sanur. Expect queues to get in, so I recommend booking. Try to book the small air conditioned room as the rest of the place can be hot. The food is top quality Italian - not fancy but traditional with excellent ingredients. I’ve eaten at some of the best pizzerias around the world and these pizzas are up there. Their gelato is to die for & hence the long line to order it from the street. The service is great and Massimo will often come a round to say hi. He does so much for the community, especially in training & employing local women. Read about his story. He’s a special person.

First time eating in the restaurant because usually I just ate their delicious ice cream. They have the biggest selection of ice cream here, and my favorite is still the cheesecake 😻 for the foods we tried the croquettes (awesome), burrata salad, and the pesto spaghetti (didn’t have any toppings, so it’s just pasta and pesto). So 10/10 for the ice cream, but probably about 7-8/10 for the foods. Atmosphere is really nice to chill.

Best Italian I’ve had in Bali probs. A restaurant I will definitely return to. Best to reserve via google maps. Very crowded during peak hours. We went as two, go a pasta each and shared a pizza plus cocktails. Food was great and price affordable 👍 Definitely get the gelato which costed 17k for 2 scoops!!!

A Slice of Italy in Sanur – Dinner at Massimo Italian Restaurant Italian cuisine may be familiar to many of us, but several things truly stood out during our visit to this restaurant: 1. Easy online reservation, which made it simple for us to secure a table right away. 2. The restaurant serves appetizers, mains, desserts, and a wide selection of drinks—but this is the first place where the sequence and timing of each course were executed perfectly. Our server, Mang Ayu, carefully paced our meal, ensuring we fully enjoyed our appetizer before politely checking whether we were ready for the main course. For me, this was an outstanding dining experience. It’s rare to find a Western restaurant that truly understands and applies the proper flow between appetizers, main courses, and desserts. 3. The menu offers a wide variety of options—vegetarian, gluten-free, seafood-free, nut-free—everyone is well accommodated. We ordered the gnocchi and homemade pork sausage, both incredibly delicious. The gnocchi, made from potatoes, was especially perfect for someone like me who is reducing gluten intake. A popular Italian restaurant in Sanur. Not only is the food excellent, but the drink and dessert menus are also extensive. The open-air seating area at the front has ceiling fans but no air conditioning, so it can be a bit hot. Other than that, everything is very good.
