Massimo Plaza Hotel

Exceptional location but definitely needs a face lift. Very charming hotel and the staff were the shining star of this hotel. The cracked sinks..wonky shower heads, terrible beds and ac units that froze up and wouldn't wouldn't work, are the blight of this hotel. Staff did offer us a complimentary glass of wine while they looked at repairing the ac unit but it's beyond repair.... Breakfast was except with fresh pastries, fruit and coffee. I'm torn on whether I would recommend. Staff 5 star..but they're working in a 2 star hotel. No parking...nearby parking is 25 euro per day.

Right across from the Piazza Massimo and the opera house. Location is great for sightseeing and shopping. Try to get a room facing the piazza with a balcony. Unforgettable. We stayed in two different rooms and these were far better. Breakfast served in your room with lots of choices. Staff is great and organized all of our transportation. BIG flight of stairs when entering. We had help getting our luggage down. Super hotel!.

Location is totally perfect and you are close to everything. Despite being in the city center it’s not noisy. The rooms are very poorly cleaned and it feels like the vacuum cleaner has not been used for a long time. The fact you have to have breakfast in your room contributes to being unclean when they don’t clean properly. Staff is friendly and smiley and breakfast good. Just don’t like to eat it the room.

Excellent service, warm welcome and brilliantly positioned for walking around Palermo. It's up a single flight of steep stairs so may be less suitable for people with disabilities. Good breakfast. Good value for money. Comfortable rooms. Air conditioning. Would stay again.

Charming, perfectly located hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the view of the plaza was perfect. The doors to the balcony were pretty soundproof considering the level of activity in the plaza on a busy weekend. |The staff could not have been any better. Friendly, helpful. Truly accommodating and kind. The breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast was bountiful. When we arrived with luggage the staff immediately grabbed them from us and took them up the front steps. It was a perfect stay and introduction to our time in Sicily.

Three of us stayed here, we each had our own room. The hotel is quaint, clean, with a wonderful staff. They were so helpful. Two of us wanted to go to a hair salon and one of the ladies at the front desk (I wish I could remember her name) recommended a place. Turned out to be one of the best coIor and cut I had ever had. I was apprehensive about it but she said she always had great feedback on that place. So happy with experience! The breakfasts were wonderful and the young woman that took care of us every morning was great. You can not beat the hotel location! Excellent staff and hotel all around.

This hotel is in a excellent and beautiful location, the staff were excellent and very helpful. But this hotel is in DESPERATE need of renovation: we were in a Classico room on the back of the hotel; I’m afraid the view wasn’t quite what we expected but we were prepared to pay to upgrade to a Superior room with a piazza view and the view from the room we moved to did not disappoint. But I’m afraid what did was the first room’s carpet was filthy and worn, the bathroom tiles were cracked (although the bathroom was well cleaned). In the second room, we also had to ask the staff to kindly rehoover the room as the dust was everywhere!!! ||The breakfast in the room is a nice touch, if you’re in a piazza view room (not so much in the Classicos at the back!), pretty tasty and punctually served ,but the true reason this is done is because there isn’t enough room in the main bar/dining room: it only has approx. 3 tables!||This hotel and its facilities are, I’m afraid, at best 3-star not 4; other examples are no lift (although VERY helpful staff do help with your bags!), plus things like paper cups for tea and coffee in your room… although the lovely staff will happily give you a China cup when asked!||I will say again, here, the staff are wonderful, very friendly and helpful and were kind enough to waive our supplement for the superior room at the end of our stay due to all the dust in the room! I would just ask the management to look at things like refurbishing the bathrooms and carpets and a lick of paint, then we would happily stay again!

we were bumped from another hotel nearby and they were able to accommodate us with an available room. The entry to the hotel was fair but the lobby although small was very nice. the rooms also were very nice. The staff service was excellent and helped us more than they needed to. They offered us a good price for the overnight stay and provided breakfast to us in the morning. The hotel is in a great location. If you are looking for a 3 star hotel in Palermo, this is the place to stay at.
