Massiosare El Hostal

I've stayed in dozens of hostels, and this is the best one I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. As soon as I walked in, the energy felt amazing. The staff are unbelievable helpful and kind, truly the nicest people. The other travelers staying here were amazing too, I really think this place attracts the right people. The organized activities led by the hostel didn't feel forced, everyone always got along great, and there's something going on almost every day. Extremely easy to socialize with people with the multiple common areas. Lots of places to relax and talk to others. Everything is clean, nice kitchen, decent sleeping quarters. Only complaint is that the shower water was either boiling hot or ice cold, I couldn't find an in between. And yes the stairs are killer 😂 but it's so worth it. Other than that, this hostel is 10/10. Coolest place ever, the vibes are really just amazing so please go check it out for yourself. Also, the staff allowed me to leave my big bags for two days and let me hang out there even while I was staying at another hostel. Friendliest people ever ❤️

Thanks for such a nice stay :) First of all, the hostel location is super central, two blocks away from the metro and the Alameda Park, where there’s always something going on. The rooms are nice, with lockers outside so you don’t hear all the mess of people taking out their stuff, and everything is super clean and cosy. But the true highlight is the staff : everybody is super friendly, caring, and ready to give you advices on where to go and what to do. We felt at home instantly! If you’re looking for a social, quiet, and amazing value hostel, this is the place to go. We will definitely be back when we’re in Mexico City ✨

Thank you Massiosare El Hostal for the kind, welcoming and generous experience, being the 4th floor was a good workout! 😅🫶🏼 and there are good views of the city. 🏙️ The hostel is located five minute walk from metro Juarez and is very central. You can go to a lot of places from here, and the price is very affordable. Can’t wait to come back.

Very clean and breakfast included. It's a very chilled but social hostel! Beautiful views from the patio and rooftop area. They organised little events as well to get to know the area. Great sized kitchen too. Highly recommend, one of my favourite hostels!

This place is wonderful! I stayed there 10 days and felt like home. The terrasse and the breakfast are game changers to meet people. And the volunteers working there are so great (shout out to Paula and Claire) !

Hostel n.1 in the city. A nice living room, nice bedrooms, comfortable beds. The bathrooms are clean and large. There are two kitchens, the main one is very large and spacious. There's a lovely terrace with a view, and the atmosphere is great. They organize tours every week and cover the city's main events. A great place to live... at least for a while. It feels like home.

Fairly clean with friendly staff. The location is pretty central and within walking distance to the historic centre but I’d stay in a different neighbourhood next time. The rooms were clean but not very good amenities. There were no lamps at the bedside, the bed sheets were poor quality and the pillows were horrible and lumpy. It’s kind of expensive for what you get and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

I did not enjoy my stay at Massiosare, despite some good aspects. Maybe I got unlucky, but my sleep was quite bad here, so I had to switch hostels. The good: - Good, cooked breakfast - Clean facilities - The staff are generally kind, especially Oscar who treated me like family - Fantastic location, near Parque Alameda The bad: - I got sick staying at this hostel. Partially because of snorers in the room (which isn’t really the hostel’s fault) and because of the room being a little cold. - No curtains - The bed quality is bad, even accounting for it being a cheap hostel. - The water doesn’t really get properly hot - The hostel tried to keep the 100 pesos deposit from me. A staff member eventually sorted it out after checking the camera, so I appreciate her for that, but I got no apology from the staff member who lied. - Four flights of stairs, but honestly this isn’t a big issue for me This hostel has the potential to do better. It should start by upgrading its beds and adding curtains as soon as it has the money to do so. Upgrading its showers to put proper hot water would be another good step. I wish this hostel the best, even though I had an unpleasant stay here.

This was my first hostel in Mexico City, and I was happily surprised at how welcoming and friendly everyone was. I have backpacked in SEAsia and Europe, and this is my type of hostel - big common area, friendly people, NOT a party hostel, and great friendly staff. My only qualms were with the lighting in the bathrooms/rooms - flourescent instead of incandescent which can really get one down. Free breakfast in the morning was great too, and genuinely, the staff were amazing - thank you Dulce, Cat, and Oscar! P.S. This is not a big deal for me, but I know a lot of people care - the wifi is strongest in the common area; it's sparse in the rooms.
