MAST

Whoa. Back in November of 2024, I had the pleasure of shopping at MAST and I can confidently say it’s one of the best customer experiences I’ve ever encountered at a jewelry store. The owners truly go above and beyond to make sure their customers feel valued, not just as buyers, but as people. From the moment I walked in, the young man tending the store made me feel welcomed and took the time to listen to my needs and preferences. He spoke highly of the products and the artists’ craft. It's clear they stand behind every piece they sell. It’s not just about making a sale—it’s about ensuring you’re completely satisfied with your purchase. They offer excellent advice, and I never felt pressured to buy anything. Plus, their after-sales service is outstanding—it's rare to find a store that genuinely cares about your experience even after you leave. If you're looking for jewelry that combines exceptional craftsmanship with outstanding customer experience, I highly recommend MAST. It’s clear they care about their craft and their customers, and that makes all the difference!

Finest most unique jewelry I've ever seen. The employee Suza was SO nice and informative. I had seen a woman with a ring one day that I fell in love with she told me she got it from Mast. I was sad to see it wasn't available on their website or in store. But Suza was so kind and helpful getting me in contact with the maker of the ring. I can't wait to go back to this shop again. 100 percent my fav place to shop for unique jewelry and gifts

MAST is one of my first stops in Tucson and for good reason. The plaza where it is located is quaint and flanked with interesting restaurants and shops. The store itself is curated with a Southwestern edge (last time there, there were handmade feather arrow earrings, Fzotic fragrances, leather goods and more). On my annual pilgrimage, I stock up on greeting cards for the upcoming year and check out all of their new items in store.

An update to my review March 2024- Mast is still a lovely shop. So a return visit was a must! With five people in the store today, we were told the shop was closing in 5 minutes due to “cleaning.” Really? Could you not let purchases be made? A disappointment especially when we were staying 40 minutes away. Mast is a lovely, lovely boutique with very well designed items. We were especially taken with the earring selection. Mast is well worth a visit.

What a beautifully curated shop! These ladies have style and it’s cool to see the new creations they bring into their shop. I love how they have a good price range of items. I love their incense offerings too! 😉

Strange experience returning something. Initially told that they could only do a store credit, and had to point out why I believed I should be eligible for a return. Makes no sense to me that one should have to make a case, but this is how the staff are being trained, which is dissapointing. Believe that the testament of how earnest a store is how they treat you in an ongoing way, not just how kind they are when making a sale. Response was curt, when I brought in a necklace that had literally turned another color after only wearing one day. Because I had mentioned being in Sabino, staff who returned the item were sure to note that I had been "sweating and hiking" (which I had) insinuating that I had somehow misused the necklace. I don't know. I expect more.

I found my very favorite handbag here and cannot wait to get another. The handmade quality is a testament to the care taken to create this bag. Mast is filled with unique pieces to make a statement. From jewelry to handbags to candles- Mast is always the spot my husband finds wonderful gifts for me at.

I want everything in this shop. The unisex fragrance selection is sublime. I couldn't decide and bought two. Jewelry and handbags are unique and luxe.

My first time in MAST happened today. I can assure you that it will not be my last. While at El Mercado today with my father, we decided to visit MAST. Tucked inside, MAST features beautifully handcrafted jewelry and other items. When we walked in, we were immediately welcomed. The store was busy and filled with so many uniquely crafted items. From bracelets, earrings, and rings to essential oils and candles (just to name a few), MAST offers something for everyone. What I thought was neat about MAST is that the items are clearly labeled and information about the artist is available. All of the items are made locally here in Tucson by women. Women who clearly know and understand what women want. I had a very hard time deciding on what to purchase but ended up with a unique silver ring with a Ruby surrounded by gold made by Sophie. I also really liked the horseshoe charm earrings and the bohemian styles. MAST definitely has that special something for someone who is truly unique.

I love love love MAST. The new store at the Mercado San Agustin is absolutely gorgeous and the location couldn't be better. If you missed the memo- they moved from the Lost Barrio to the Mercado San Agustin. Mast is a Tucson classic and the owners are all extremely gifted designers/jewelry makers in their own right, so shopping here you truly are supporting a local business and local designer. Women and men can both shop here- expect to find that you want to buy everything in the store! Come here to buy handmade necklaces, earrings, rings. You'll also find a small clothing selection with t-shirts, jeans, bow-ties, scarves. I'm loving the journals made out of old books. So rad! I bought these as gifts over the holidays. Walking into MAST is an experience and it takes time to really soak all in and appreciate all the special items they carry. So, stop by the Mercado, grab a coffee at Stella Java or a beer at Agustin Kitchen and head over to MAST and take your time- it's worth it! This place is bursting with local handcrafted awesomeness.

What a find. Just finished a wonderful ride on our newly opened Street Car which unexpectedly took us to this great new find for me. After 21 years in Tucson you'd think maybe I might venture across I-10 and find a whole new up and coming area in Tucson. Well to our surprise there is was. An array of great restaurants, shops, ice cream places, olive oil shops. Then I came across Mast. What a delightful find for me. A bunch of handmade items like earrings, clothing, bracelets, gifts, art work. Three ambitious arty young ladies own the store and make everything themselves. Shop local and enjoy.

This store tests my shopping discipline. I went in for a pencil necklace that my daughter liked and saw many other items I would have loved to buy. It is a treasure trove of special & unique pieces. The experience at MAST is always warm and friendly. This time I had a great, easy conversation with Sofie about our kids.

MAST is a must see shop. Your eyes can hardly take in all the wonders and inspiring displays and goods. The stock is highly curated, totally unique, and won't empty your wallet. There is no fluff here. All things are handmade, well made and absolutely worth purchasing for yourself or anyone on your gift list. The shop gals put their heart and soul into this place and you can definitely feel the love and care that's given. Do yourself a favor and just GO~! Parking is easy right out front. There is a cafe right next door for breakfast, lunch, great coffee or yummy prickly pear tea.

After reading about this place and learning that the second La Estrella Bakery is located here...on my way he from work I stopped in to pick up some fresh tortillas. It was great! The tortillas at La Estrella is always delicious but this market corner with a quaint courtyard is a gem. Best of all..I forwent the long line at the other La Estrella. I be stopping back more regularly!

Get down to the lost barrio and check out this fantastic art gallery. Run by 3 amazing local artists this special place is a must for anyone who loves unique, one of a kind, hand-made functional art. The space is beautiful and every corner is full of beautiful, hand-made pieces of art. I walked out of there with a beautiful lamp made by Sophie 5 amazing steel bottle openers by a local steel worker named Zach, hand pounded/crafted steel hooks,..... so very cool!!!! Oh and an Angie's shelf. If you are drawn to metal, antique, unique, organic beautiful art then you will definitely love M.A.S.T.!!!!!

This is positively one of the best stops in Tucson for locally-made gifts, art and crafts. It was my first time in the Lost Barrio and I was so delighted to discover this little gem of a shop. I plan to come back for all of my Christmas shopping in the next couple of weeks. Everything in the store is handcrafted from found/upcycled/recycled artifacts by the owners themselves. The prices for most of their merchandise are extremely resonable, unlike many other shops like this. Most stuff has a sort of "shabby chic" style but you can find a lot of different and very unique items. I wanted to take home one of everything for myself!

Mast is one of my absolute favorite Tucson boutique stores. The owners, ALL WOMEN, are also makers and supply the shop with their unique leather goods and jewelry. They source items from other local makers as well as high end makers from other places in the country, and voila! The store has a gorgeous style, with lots of great gifts to be had for people of all ages and tastes. (It's true, there are even a few toys for kiddos, as well as some locally-drawn coloring books.) I bought my husband some La Curie cologne here two years ago and it's all he's worn since. We have since come to browse Mast whenever we're at the Mercado (which is A LOT), and we love checking out what's new and keeping in mind who to buy gifts for. If you are looking for a unique piece of jewelry, they range from higher-end pieces with gemstones to a more "friend gift" budget, they also stock some excellent and unique cards, as well as interesting grooming products for men and women. They have home decor, leather goods, and a range of other products. Check them out!

If you need an interesting gift, especially something handmade, you'll likely find it at Mast. Or, a special treat for yourself, from jewelry, special personal care products ( soaps and lotions, etc) even kitchen items are here for your selection. Everything's artfully displayed. This is a neat gift shop.

This store is what dreams are made of! Its like a locally made anthropology but better. I love every piece of jewelry in this store. And they have the cutest letter pressed cards. Take a trip to the Mercado and get lost in this adorable store!

Love this shop. Great quality stuff that you can't get anywhere else because these ladies make most of it, and they are talented! Purses, jewelry and beautiful things made locally.

Sooooo many cool places to see in Tucson and MAST should definitely be on your must visit list! I bought a killer purse for less than $40 that EVERYONE comments on - it's my fav! And I love giving the blank books as gifts - 3 for $30!! One of these days I'll treat myself to some of the linens - the colors make me happy. I'm excited the new location is on the street car line. It's going to be amazing! Oh, and I asked for a silent auction donation for the non-profit I run and the owners responded with an enthusiastic "yes!". Awesome! You can feel good about supporting this local gem!

MAST is by far my favorite place in Tucson to buy gifts for my favorite people. Everything they sell is unique and made with love. The owners have their fingers on the pulse when it comes to keeping with up the latest trends in jewelry, design and decorating. At the same time, they only sell timeless pieces made with the utmost quality and care. Be sure to check out the adorable metallic moccasins (available in adult and kid sizes) and the custom journals.

I discovered MAST a year or so ago, when I heard that four cool Tucson women had opened a small eclectic amazing gallery of their own work... at first I thought "something nautical? really? in tucson?" but then learned that their names spell MAST. Now it is my absolute go-to spot for gifts & little handmade cards for all of the cool selective women in my life, of which there are many! Sophie's and Tasha's earrings are stunning and so unique that when I spot them on someone, I know exactly where she got them. The displays and ambience in the wonderful space are beyond artful...they're genius! And they honor the local musicians and artists, like tom walbanks, with openings and shows... and honor the local giving back scene, like hosting a drop off for the charity event "shop your girlfriend's closet".... if you haven't yet spent an hour or two in MAST, you're in for a treat. go today!

Great new location. Still a bit over priced and staff is unfriendly. Bought a charm for Valentines day and a card total was $55.00 plus tax. Although they have Unique items, the attitude of the girls is off putting. Will not be back.

MAST is the perfect stop to get a gift for someone who 'has everything' because there's no way they already have the beautiful and unique treasures found here. I've received countless compliments on the necklaces I have from MAST. Plus, the owners are all incredibly kind, professional, helpful and not to mention beautiful. Note: Get the Killer Mailman Burrito next door at Tooley's when you are finished exploring the shop.

Ya gotta check this place out. Art, "collectibles," and so much more. Fun place to visit...especially when a local musician is havin' a CD release party there.

Rude. That is all I can say about MAST. Went in because I flew into Tucson to be in a wedding. Had time to kill before heading to the bridal shower- thought I might pick up a hipster piece of jewelry or stationary for the bride in the Lost Barrio. As I opened the door, the lady at the counter {owner?} looked up at me and then looked down at her book- REALLY! Who does that- maybe in Malibu... but Tucson- again: REALLY. ? I thought: OK, maybe she is just a snobby displaced student and she is studying. I "browsed around" looking at "art" and handmade"art" and shocked about the prices- that one would not expect for a used t shirt. The entire 5 minutes of my browsing, she not once looked up, greeted me or said can I help you? NOT once! WOW. I left and went next door to a funky thrift store- didn't have luck there either., but at least the woman there said "Hello can I help you?" Get off the high horse and be NICE is my advice to the staff and MAST. Went to U of A gate shopping area and purchased a Ben's Bell. Having read about the history of this cool project - I knew this was the ideal gift for my friend - she is nice, sweet, and down to Earth kinda girl. Maybe someone needs to put a Be kind sticker on the door of MAST.
