They say the worse the staffs' attitudes are at a Chinese restaurant, the more authentic the food. And this did not disappoint. While the staff were less than enthusiastic, The signature beef noodles had a VERY decent portion (medium!), the wide noodles were soft and chewy, the beef tender.... An amazing comforting soupy meal that fills you up on a cold, rainy day such as today. Tastes like home!

Used to be good. Don't know what happened today. Noodle tasteless, cucumber salad with no flavour at all, potato salad just drenched in oil. got my order wrong 2 times and wouldn't rectify. Ppl working there looked pretty depressed and didn't want to be there. 😔

It’s been a long time since I had Lanzhou beer soup in Melbourne. I was looking forward to trying this restaurant and I’m glad I did. The chefs make the noodles to order (you can see them do this right in front of you) the expertise is amazing and exciting. While the menu is simple the food on offer is delicious. For me the braised beef was the best of the bunch, it felt more hearty on a cold winters night. The chilli oil on the table is delicious! Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Went on a Saturday at 7:30pm and could get a table easily. Will return!

Ok place for noodles. The noodles 🍜 themselves were really nice and chewy, and the soup was flavourful. My beef 🥩 wasn’t very tender and quite little for the price.

Slurpable yummy beef noodle soup in melbourne uni. I visited Master Lanzhou for wed lunch and ordered the braised beef noodle soup to go. Staff were friendly, and the noodles were made fresh to go. I chose the thin noodles, which were nice and slightly chewy. The hot beef soup and tender braised beef really warmed me on a windy day. I chose takeout, but there were plenty of seats in a nicely decorated interior for dine in. There were also many sides to choose from to accompany your meal.

It a small wedge tenancy that gets really crowded during lunch hour with staff and students in the area. Food takes a while to get to your tables. If you frequent this place, I'd encourage you to sign up as a member and get every 10th bowl for free.

Love the ramen noodle chewy than I expected and the beef was soft and juicy. Don't like the side dish tofu skin and the combo drink pretty taste less.

Yelp
The Noodles with Pork Mince and Soy sauce arrived with noodles completely clumped together. Almost impossible to separate. Obviously had been plated for some time after cooking. When I complained the solution was to add some soup to the plate (a dry noodle dish) to loosen up the noodles. This worked to an extent. A better approach would have simply been to cook a fresh batch of noodles but that level of service seems beyond this place.

Yelp
Stumbled across Lanzhou Beef Noodle while we were walking home from exploring CBD Melbourne one night. Located a block from the AirBnb we were staying at, there was one on either side of the street! We checked out the menu and though noodle soup sounded delish for a windy/cool evening so we dropped in and grabbed a table. You order at the counter, there's not very many options, but you do get to choose the thickness of your hand-pulled fresh noodles! I saw some sides in the glass case as well, but the Signature Beef Noodle Soup is where it's at! I got mine with the "thicker noodles" which is like a rice noodle and was not disappointed. The broth was clear and flavorful, the beef was tender and the noodles tasted fresh and handmade. They were cooked perfectly and everything about this bowl was noodles was on point and fantastic. Why can't they have more places like this in the states?! Fresh high quality ingredients with amazing flavors. They don't specialize in a lot but what they do specialize in is the best of what they have to offer! I want another bowl as we speak and wasn't opposed to coming back here another night while we were in town. So many good eats to choose from though, so I never got the chance. The Spicy Beef Noodle Soup has a sichuan peppercorn spice to it, so if you don't like the tongue numbing sensation of peppercorns, stay clear cause there is a lot of it in that bowl! We got 2 bowls for "take-away", as the Australians would say, or "to-go" in the states and they packed it nicely for us in very sustainable plastic containers. The noodles and broth were kept separate so that you can mix and enjoy when you get home! They do charge extra for take-out and for to-go containers though, especially when you dine-in and don't finish! Seems to be the norm in Australia to pay extra for take-away containers, so don't be alarmed. Delicious beef noodle soup and I would definitely recommend this place and come back, if I ever get the chance!

Yelp
Super fast service and pretty cheap for the big portion size. Most importantly, they serve so quick! Like within 5 min! My parents got the beef noodle soup and I got the tomato egg noodles. I recommend the beef noodle soup. My absolute favorite part of this place is that you get to pick out of 6+? types of noodles that vary in thickness and cut, I find that very refreshing!
