"I'm looking forward to other summer fruits. We get the best peaches ever, and last year I kind of missed them because of the pandemic. This year I’m going to drive out to David Mas Masumoto’s or Frog Hollow, and I’m going to get them myself. They’re something rare. They have no shelf life. They have to be picked ripe, and they’re glorious. I think of myself as kind of a peach specialist."

Yelp
Recently just got back from another year of being part of the harvest of the adopt a tree program. This particular year marks the 20th year anniversary of the program. A buddy of mine had participated in the program for about 14 years. Crazy! I don't know the fine details about the adopt a tree program, but if you're interested, you totally should look into it or do it. The fruit here is just absolutely amazing. It's used in lots of popular restaurants in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Also, the head editor (Bill Addison) of LA Times food was asked what was his favorite fruit was and he referenced this farm and its stone fruit. I'm actually planning on going to a pie shop that uses fruit this Friday for a special event. and Los Angeles. I'm actually planning on going to a pie shop that uses their fruit this Friday for a special event. By now the routine is pretty simple and straightforward for me. There's a meet and greet in the morning with some instructions for some of the newer people. The you got to harvest your trees before it gets too hot outside. My friend has multiple trees hence me coming out to help every year for the last three years. Another fun experience, I'll be at exhausting. There was a fun light brunch in the middle of it and there was a beer tasting this time around with beers that use the fruit in their process.

Yelp
One of the best things I did in 2021 was drive to Fresno to visit the Matsumoto Family Farm. I participated in the Adopt-A-Tree Program and had a chance to pick organic heirloom stone fruit and have brunch in the orchard on this 80 acre farm. If you have an opportunity to visit this Japanese American farm, I highly recommend it. Their nectarines and peaches are incredible, and the Matsumoto family are so welcoming to guests.

Yelp
Matsumoto Family Farms is a certified organic peach, nectarines, apricots and grapes farm. We ordered peaches and nectarines online. The fruit was absolutely beautiful and delicious! The colors, fragrances and juicy taste of the fruit are excellent. I felt like I stepped back in time to growing up in the Central California San Joaquin Valley. My father worked in the fields. We always had fresh wholesome foods. You can buy a box of perfect fruit ($21.00 for 5 lbs) or not so perfect ($27.00 for 8-9 pounds of fruit). We have bought both types and they are excellent. After making your order you are given a time to pick up the fruit. Next, you drive through their driveway to pick up your fruit. The staff is so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. It was fun to meet the staff. We enjoyed our journey to the farm. We are definitely going back. The fruit is so good and flavorful. Thank you Matsumoto Family Farm!

Yelp
"you'll love the baby crawfords," mas masumoto said on seeing my order - i've savored each one since. they only have a few crawford trees and they're sweet, tart and bright! highest recommendation for every summer.
