Had wonderful dinner with colleagues. Tried 5 course menu of Chef’s choice. All food excellent 🤩, great service and classy

Stoped by early afternoon for glasses of wine, assume from the menu the food would have been excellent too. Sleek interior in an old classic space. Multiple dining areas, patio set up now. Excellent bar service.

A must-try restaurant in Lund. Smoked salmon was very fresh. Lamb was very fine. Fish was superb with topping soup. About dessert, creme-brulee was soft, well sweet and good texture.

It’s been a while to have dinner outside at Friday then this place is certainly still the best restaurant in town! I love the Sandy Bulldog cocktail with strong coffee gin taste but very soft. The best starter is the Roding, super nice with the white broccoli. The pig meat is also nice. The beef tartare is bit too salty for me and the ravioli is tasteless so not so like them. Overall highly recommend it

What a good dinner! Good bread - both kinds. Not some store dry bread! Good butter! Amazing presentation and taste of food. Nice wine selection and bartender chose a really nice wine for me. Good cappuccino to end the dinner. It was a dinner that leaves you happy after on!

Review is a bit late, but better late than never. We were incredibly pleased with our visit, so I thought I'd share. My girlfriend and I went here with our friend for his 30th birthday in late August. We brought our 6-month old son too. I emailed in advance to let them know that we'd bring a baby, and also to let them know some dietary requirements that I have - they for whatever reason didn't get the email, but our waiter was super accommodating even if he had to solve some stuff on the spot. He also went a bit out of his way to provide some entertainment for our son. Kudos to that guy! The food was also definitely great. We went for the tasting menu, because it looked interesting and we wanted to do something slightly fancier. I had been here a few years prior and hadn't thought the food was quite good value, but in spite of the bill coming in at 1000 SEK per person (including some wine, beer, and a cocktail), I couldn't help but feel completely satisfied and content this time around. They had really stepped up their game compared to my previous visit, and are now up there with the restaurant at Skissernas, which was my favorite place in Lund since before. I often have at least some criticism of the food when I go out, especially at this price point, but this time I could not really find anything to critique. Well balanced, interesting, delicious dishes of a good size - I was definitely not hungry after leaving (in spite of not filling up on bread) but also not too full. The cocktail was also (as usual) creative and tasty. Definitely recommended, and thanks to the team at Mat & Destillat!

Cozy Restaurant with good staffs but the food was not worth the cost . The Wine options were just fine. If you are a vegetarian, this restaurant is not for you. The coffee could have been better. There is a bar-only area where you can order order only drinks .. There is a wheelchair entrance and a possibility of wheelchair seating. The place is crowded and it is recommended to book tables in advance. Overall, if you are a meat love, you can consider this for team lunch or dinner but definitely not for vegetarians.

Great service, good selection of beers. The fish and lamb were excellent. They good veggie options.

Wow The bread was delicious. The main course a pork dish was fabulous. The service was lighting quick always smiling and treating you like family, the best server ever. We also had hay ice cream which was really good. It was a wonderful evening experience that is at the top of my list as my most memorable meal. If you go to Lund a must! !!

Mat & Destillat is a really great restaurant, I was staying on business in Malmo but had heard so much good about the restaurant that I had to go here one night. This was a regular Wednesday night and the place was packed so guess that it is popular among the locals as well. We were greeted at once when we entered, quickly shown our table. The waiter managed to strike exactly the right cord between friendly yet professional service. I tried a few of the nonalcoholic drinks and they were delicious and my dinner company tried some of the wines per glass and those were also good. The menu seems to change rather frequently so would most likely be great also as a favorite hangout. I had a terrine as a starter, simple yet excellent. Followed up with the flank steak- also great. Prepared just right and the vinegar sauce matched it perfectly. My dinner company got the pigs cheek and that seemed divine so gotta try that next time. The dishes were rather large so did not have room for dessert but would have like to try some, will have to be on the next visit.

For the past couple of years the trend in Sweden generally, but particularly and even maybe more surprising in a small town such as Lund, has been being okay to spend and sometimes actually overspend good amount of money on food. If you into this trend then a visit to "Mat och Destillat" is highly recommended. The proper, sober, earth color tuned and somewhat modest clean design at "Mat och Desitllat" makes this place look like a classical French bistro however influenced by a modern Scandinavian minimalistic design. Together with what the kitchen produces one is not wrong to suggest "Mat och Destillat" is where all things classic are made and twisted by a modern touch. It is still subtle, elegance and sufficiently traditional as well as modern to please people of all ages. And most importantly a top notch place where the standards and quality is kept under close and continuous supervision. In my opinion this place, particularly their daily changed lunch menu, is somewhat overpriced. It lacks that top level of fines and creativity that justifies the asked prices.

Swedish "experimental" high end food. You probably need to reserve a table if visit the restaurant on a Friday or Saturday as we did, it seams to be very popular. It's not the cheapest place in Lund. But, me and my daughter liked it a lot.

This would be a five star restaurant if it wasn't for the crap wifi. The food was absolutely delicious and the service is great. The bathroom is an experience itself and a must see. However, the wifi is incredibly slow and thus I give it 4 stars not 5.

This is my new favorite restaurant in Lund. I've only been here for dinner a few times - so I cannot comment on the lunch menu. We've taken clients to dinner here and the restaurant was very accommodating since we had quite a large group. The dinner menu is varied and I've tried a few different items. The fish course is pretty good and the scallops are awesome. My favorite is the moose - very tasty meat and well prepared. They have a very well stocked bar for before and/or after dinner drinks. I can't say enough good things about this place. I highly recommend.

The restaurant was busy and had a nice atmosphere. I ordered the veal loin. When it arrived it was a very small piece, about 1 and 1/2 inches square. Table next to me ordered the same thing and received twice as much meat as I did. The quality of the food was moderate. Nothing to write home about. The chocolate fondant was very tasty but took 25 minutes to be served. They didn't even serve me coffee while I was waiting. Overall I was not impressed especially given the other reviews.

This place is great! Delicious food, friendly staff, awesome bathroom! The crème brûlée was amazing!

Good food but really overpriced. Their cocktails are watery and doesn't taste of much.
