The Best Hotels and Resorts in Koh Samui, Thailand

"Travelers gather for days to months to work from their laptops, live well, and eat well at Kapuhala, a boutique hotel that has the relaxed vibe of an Airbnb. Food is central to a stay here—a small but perfect menu of Sicilian plant-based recipes (Kapuhala’s second outpost is on the Italian island), features delicious spaghetti soy ragu and light arancini, all topped with pipettes of extra virgin olive oil, with the olives plucked and pressed at their Sicily property. Breakfast, meanwhile, is a feast of fruit and freshly baked muffins and strong Italian coffee. You can venture high up the hill in Chaweng Noi on a moped for a meal, but then you’d miss what makes this place so special: easing into your day in the open air restaurant space, with its swaying rattan lamps and hessian bean bags, getting to know the friendly team and feeling inspired by the island’s remote working views across the infinity pool and over the sea below. Choose from four simple light-filled ‘tiny houses’ or one of five large safari-style tents, where the sides fold up so the breeze can flow in while you gaze out. Nice hotel with a great location. Breakfast is decent — you get what you need. The staff will prepare eggs in any style: fried, boiled, scrambled, or as an omelet. Very good! Sun loungers are available both by the pool and on the beach. Rooms are clean and spacious. Note: There is a lot of noise from a pub if you’re staying on the riverside, especially near the road.

The location is great and the rooms are clean and spacious. Opt for the Ocean building if you want a quiet stay. But the reason I'm giving it 5 stars is because of the staff. I had a really bad jellyfish sting and Top, Nene and Gem helped me and saved me from a lot of pain. They had the first aid ready and were extremely patient and helpful. The manager Neung also helped, and offered to drive me to the hospital if needed. We also got a complimentary late check out. Lastly, the receptionist Music was great in facilitating the room upgrade we requested when we arrived. If we come back it will definitely be because of the lovely staff at the hotel.

Review and ratings are based on the fact that it's a 3* hotel. We had a room in the building by the sea and it was quite spacious. Being on the 4th floor we also had a sea view. Breakfast was relatively basic, with only one Asian dish and the usual international choices. Pool was very near the beach and you could use either easily from the loungers. Hotel staff were all very friendly. A short walk to the Central shopping centre and Chaweng nightlife

The Ocean view is awesome. Direct beach access, with loungers and a bar. The atmosphere is wonderful, a paradise. The staff are wonderful and professional. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. Our room was perfectly clean and tidy. House keeping is excellent. The room is also quite spacious and the air conditioner was just right with easy adjustments.

The hotel is old and needs renovation. It has spacious and clean rooms with nice balconies. But the bathroom and toilet are small. The hotel pool is clean and is next to the hotel beach. It has a quiet, sandy beach with a beautiful view. The hotel gym is located in another building across the street. The gym equipment is old and worn out. The hotel's location is very good, a five-minute walk to Central Festival.

Having stayed many, many times at this resort wanted to give our honest opinion. Our room/rooms always to our liking, ocean side, cleaned daily and maid service very good. Reception very kind, Loved the " old" staff of Chaba as knew them for many years but you adjust and new faces have been helpful and kind, very good service. Breakfast good, not as good as old buffet but this may change would love manho as a fruit on breakfast! We love the pool and beach but miss the massages. Recommend this resort for families, couples etc and can't wait to come back April 2026 with extra person, sons friend this time ❤️

Avoid avoid avoid! – Definitely Not 3 Stars If I could give zero stars, I would. We stayed in the Lake Building, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. First off, the noise was unbearable. We had to listen to the same promotional sound on repeat for six hours, and loud music blasted from the venues next door until 4 AM - getting any sleep was impossible. It felt more like a nightclub than a hotel. The beds are also rock solid, and pillows too high. You’ll also need to give 2000 baht deposit in cash when you check in. The room itself was dirty and didn’t feel like a place to relax at all. We found a leftover water bottle and an earbud on the floor, which made it clear that it hadn’t been properly cleaned. To make matters worse, the taps were rusty, making us question the overall maintenance of the place. This is nowhere near a 3-star hotel by any reasonable standard. If you value cleanliness, peace, and a good night’s sleep, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

We arrived there the place is awesome. We had a little problem with noise but the staff was excellent and changed my room to another quieter. I recommend people who likes silence to write that want a silent room(I forgot). The hotel is in front of the beach and has a nice swimming pool.
