"Matchstick, Chinatown Strathcona by Post Projects. Chinatown/Strathcona was in desperate need of a good coffee spot before these guys showed up. Matchstick typically serve anywhere from 4 to 6 different house roasted coffees at a time. And with their contemporary approach to roasting, you'll find you'll actually be able to taste the difference in each bean. You can go brewed coffee (made to order via Able Kone pour over) or espresso. The house bread with butter or jam is a great start to the day too."

For its location and ambiance, this cafe is perfect. The interior is beautifully decorated and there is lots of mixed use seating available for whatever you are doing, whether it’s working or chatting with friends. The coffee here though at least to me tasted just average. I tried the iced pour over which was served a bit too hot and the oat milk here separated/settled really quickly so my guess is it’s not a high quality barista blend.

Loved their fun selection of seasonal drinks (I got the Turkish delight latte)! They have all of the basics as well. I got the grilled veggie sandwich, which was packed with flavour and served at the perfect temperature. Bonus: spacious with lots of different seating options, making it a great spot to sit and study or do laptop work. I went mid-day on a weekday and it wasn't very busy!

Found this coffee shop using the Google Maps. We tried the pour over coffee here which was not bad. The atmosphere overall is quite nice. See coffee did come slow not because of poor over but because there was only one staff working, this really slow things down perhaps they should have one staff covering the tail while another one is making the coffee.

Great little coffee shop in Chinatown. I’d definitely suggest espresso or latte but their other offerings look great too and reasonably priced. Tucked away between Main Street and E Georgia Street. Very friendly and attentive staff. Well worth a visit when looking for a coffee like home. I would recommended the Matchstick Chinatown to anyone.

Good coffee on a good day, but it’s not always consistent. Very good bread which is made in house. I sometimes come just to get my bread for home. Baking is good too - love the double baked almond croissants. The room is large but there could be lot more comfortable seating. Quite place in a busy neighbourhood.

Wonderful, wonderful place, food, and drinks. So sad to know it's closing. I forgive the slow-ish service... totally get that operations are affected. Don't miss the the seasonal drinks! Personally loved the raspberry white chocolate latte. The sandiches are bomb. The stars of the breakfast sandwich are the wonderul caramelized onions and garlic mayo 🧄🥪☕ Nicely dressed people here too. IG @linearacceleratorxxviii

Great atmosphere with nice open spaces to sit and chill. Staff are super friendly and helpful, the coffee is pretty damn good too. The outstanding though is their food, hands down best mushrooms I've tasted and the eggs were damn near perfect

Visited this shop for the first time today. Absolutely adore it! Super nice atmosphere with big open space and lots of seating possibilities. But what makes this place awesome is the super friendly and helpful staff, and the awesome espresso. Come check them out!
