Years can go by, but some places just never lose their magic. Le Matignon in Paris is one of them. I was blown away by their incredible brunch, especially the French toast, which is the best I've ever had. The food is next-level, with standout dishes like the succulent lobster salad, the perfectly seared sesame tuna, and the impossibly tender beef carpaccio. Seriously, every single plate was a hit. We were two people with the appetites of four, and we devoured it all. While the overall service was good, our server was sometimes hard to find when we needed extra napkins and cutlery. However, this didn't take away from the experience. The bathrooms were also clean and tidy, which is always a plus. What made the day even more perfect was sharing the experience with a couple of new friends we met there. Le Matignon isn't just about the food—it's about the wonderful atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. I can't wait to be back on my next trip to Paris.

I ordered the chicken club sandwich — it was good. The French toast was also nice. Their coffee isn’t served too hot; it’s warm and just right. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and if it’s busy, you’ll need a reservation

Finally a viral restaurant that is viral for a reason. If you decide to have a dinner its the best food I ate in these 10 days. Yohan was the best host and extremely professional to help us with order. My recommendations are Kinoa salad and Salmon with puree. 10/10 Club afterwards is obligatory :) just go and see yourself, my reviews are must follow. We went during night.

Google
I absolutely love the food at this place! Seriously if you want to go out to a nice spot where you can people watch this is the place you should go! It’s definitely in the fancier side but the food and drinks are absolutely amazing. I go there a lot for dinner. Best viel Milanese in town! The service is a hot slow and a little unfriendly at times. But not all of them! I would definitely recommend going!

Google
Famous French toast was delicious!! I had a cocktail as well. Have to remember if you order water, they will charge you for a bottle of water, in which they bring the bottle to your table. Water is not free in Paris. Service was really slow before my order was taken. However, I enjoyed the food as well as the visitors that sat all around me!!

Google
The ambiance was great as usual, the service was slow but welcoming. The food did not get close to matching the level of the place, the milanese and fries were soggy and not crispy, the lobster pasta was made with tomato sauce instead of lobster sauce, truffle raviolis were fine but we couldn’t really taste the truffle. We liked the cocktails and the wine. The deserts were good, recommending the ice creams and sorbets, the pavlova and the one we liked the least was the hot cookie with vanilla ice cream, not hot and fudgy enough.

Google
love love this place. I can't wait to come back. I came with my 2 brothers and 2 cousins, and honestly, the vibe was perfect. Our age range was 16-27 and it was just superb on a tuesday.. We had Axel and he was so kind & fun. One of the best nights I've had in Paris!

An atmospheric place in the heart of Paris. Music, a good crowd, interesting people, and delicious food. Great for spending time with friends.

Yelp
Frankly it was hard to tell mid-morning what kind of restaurant this was from the outside. Jamie W and I came here specifically for breakfast because it had an average four-star rating on Google Maps and was relatively close to Musee de L'Orangerie where we reserved a timeslot. We didn't realize it turns into a fancier restaurant and nightclub in the evening. I guess we should've known how fancy from the prices we saw in the menu. Definitely on the high side. They also have quite a large, plush dining room. Regardless, we were squeezed into the front veranda where all the other diners were. We made the common mistake of not specifying a "carafe d'eau" when ordering water because they charged us 9,50€ for a half-bottle of Evian. We really started with a couple of 12€ Fresh Squeeze Orange Juices which came with complimentary sourdough rolls (Photo 6). Quite chewy. Jamie and I both ordered the 17€ Lettuce Salad, simply named for the Bibb lettuce used and adorned with avocado wedges and chives (Photo 9). Genuinely fresh tasting. Jamie then had the 18€ White Egg Omelette with Fresh Spinach (Photo 7). Quite a simple execution but it worked. I went with the way too expensive 37€ Croque Madame with Truffles. It was a long, slender sandwich fillled with ham, gruyere, and arugula and topped with a fried egg and generous slices of truffles (Photo 10). It was good but even with fries (Photo 8), $43 was way more than I wanted to pay. For a premium priced breakfast, I wouldn't call it a premium experience. FOOD - 3 stars...pricey more than impressive AMBIANCE - 3 stars...looks like a nice space but we were crowded in SERVICE - 3 stars...a bit on automatic TOTAL - 3 stars...for those with deeper pockets than mine RELATED - Exploring Paris? Yelp
My wife and I dined at Le Matignon on the spur of the moment. We were in the area on a very hot day and sought a restaurant with air conditioning - a relative rarity in Paris. We found that the service was extremely attentive and helpful - even suggesting that we share one of our dishes rather than ordering 2 of the same. Each dish we ordered was expertly prepared and nicely presented. Being located just off of the Champs Elysees, we expected to pay up for the experience, but some of the prices seemed excessive. We each ordered the gazpacho which was very tasty - some of the best we've experienced. My wife ordered a delicious truffled pizza that was perfectly baked and very tasty - 45 Euro / $55. !! We shared the artichoke carpaccio - sliced artichoke bottom with a balsamic dressing - creative and delicious. My "crying tiger" marinated steak consisted of a perfectly grilled tender strip of beef with a mild soy and herb dressing. The steak was lean, juicy, very tender and very enjoyable. For dessert my wife ordered berries and cream. What arrived was a generous portion of some of the most flavorful strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries with a small pot of fresh whipped cream. The bottles sparkling water cost 9.50 Euros / nearly $11 for a 50CL / approx. 16 OZ. bottle of a common brand of sparkling water sold in other restaurants at half the price !!! Overall, excellent dining experience - but pay attention to prices. All-in all, we had an excellent dining experience.

Yelp
First time at this place, the food was average nothing special it could def be better, the service was amazing , the ambience very cool and hip. It reminded me of the Miami scene. It the latest and is trending now so it's a must go if you're in Paris.

Yelp
Been here before and this was the worst time by far. We showed up on time and of course the table is a more than an hour wait. I understand folks don't want to leave the party but should other patrons be forced to have to take that? Our waitress was beyond amazing with the facts we were 8 and quite big ppl stuffed into a table for 6. But we made due. Food. Wow. Sooo underwhelming. Had the Truffle Ravioli and lamb chops and as a foodie I wouldn't recommend it. Ravioli was more of a soup than a creamy sauce. Wasn't happy at all. The lamb chops we dry and not the standard we all know this place to be. Again the waitress was amazing with our group and we had a good time. But the service and food have some improvements.

Yelp
First off, Le Matignon is a very pretty restaurant. It feels like a restaurant that the ladies from Sex and The City went to. It's a party restaurant with a DJ. The restaurant was very crowded like extremely crowded. They over-packed the restaurant with places to sit so much that waiters and patrons couldn't move around easily. It was very obvious they were running out of chairs because one of our guests had a different chair than us. In terms of the food, I thought the portions seemed small for the price. We had the snails as an appetizer which were a 6/10 - depending on how much you like snails. For an entree, I had the truffle pizza which could be A LOT better. All in all, I thought the restaurant was average. Nothing I think I would visit again in Paris.

Yelp
Quaint little restaurant around the corner from where we stayed. It was intriguing because everyone that went in looked fabulous! Turns out there is a dress code and it turns into a night club (downstairs) so now the attire made sense! The place is full of wealthy beautiful people! But we didn't go for the club we went for dinner and it was delicious! The artichoke carpaccio was outstanding! My husband loved his lamb chops and I loved my quinoa salad... the chocolate soufflé and red wine made a perfect pairing! The service was outstanding! I'd highly recommend as an "off the beaten path" restaurant. Also a short walk to Champs De Elysee for an after dinner stroll! Ohh Lala!

Yelp
It was unfortunately a big let down. we went to Paris and scheduled my birthday dinner here. I was expecting something special. That wasn't the case. I had to secure the reservations with a $200 deposit for starters and received several emails regarding the elegant dress code. Firstly the less than handful people there were in jeans and shorts while the men in our party were in suits and the ladies in high fashion. Service was ok. Nothing special. The food was subpar at best. The filet was brown inside and far from rare. We had far better meals and far less expensive restaurants. Not worth it, especially the high price.

Gabriella M.

Yelp
Very racist place. They took one look at me and my friend and said we needed a reservation to get in yet proceeded to let in several groups of white people who did not have a reservation. I didn't know middle class bouncers could be so rude. It is crazy how people who stand at the door for a living feel so entitled!
google avatar

Nicole Z.

Yelp
The manager here was very rude on New Year's Eve. He was not accommodating and was very snobby. Did not care about our table. We had a request and he was very rude about it, if he couldn't do the request, we understand but to be rude is not nice. This place is also expensive, but it is good to go for a late night drink. Music is loud.

Eric F.

Yelp
I went to le Matignon Saturday 6 of Jan 2024 . Absolutely amazing the music the clientele the beauty J ai adorer l ambiance top

Yelp
This place is a must on your next visit to Paris! Super fun ambiance with great music and delicious food!!

Yelp
We went back in October but I just remembered how good it was and thought it needed a decent review They treated us like kings in there Very good Sea bass carpaccio amazing Artichoke carpaccio was good also Order anything with truffle We ordered so many thing I can't remember everything but the star of the show was the French toast desert good stuff Great date place And there is a Nightclub in the basement

Oleg S.

Yelp
The dump is disgusting. At the entrance there is a very rude black man with an American accent and does not let me and my daughter in and drives me out into the rain, although the table was reserved. You see, he didn't like my Yoshi Yamamoto outfit. The management of this eatery cowardly does not answer the phone and is afraid to come out for an explanation. Burn in hell
google avatar

Yelp
amazing experience! food, ambiance, staff all extraordinary... celebrate your birthday there and get the ultimate experience
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Sometimes the name supersedes the Place. Terrible. Not classy a bunch of new money that think they are something big in the world. Good luck with that !! Sexier people and better food next door. Don't go here. Disappointed. They do things differently in Paris. Would not be caught dead here.
google avatar

Ana S.

Yelp
Came to this place with a reservation all the way from Miami, FL and it was the worst experience ever. We were all dolled up and had a reservation. From the moment we arrived the gentleman who treated us at the front door was extremely rude. Not sure what the hype is. They need new employees who greet people with kindness. Horrible!!!

William S.

Yelp
The food was very good! However after many cocktails apps, main course and dessert,,,they over charged us by $300. Check your bills!!

Sarin P.

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner experience. However when it came time to go into the club they didn't let me and my husband in along with a group of female friends. They are very particular on who they will let into their club based on look, gender and body types. They require certain men to pay a minimum as well. They looked at my husband told him to leave for no reason. Very rude and disrespectful. Have never been treated so poorly before at an establishment after all the money we spent on our drinks and dinner. Beware!

Yelp
It's the same owner, as Hotel Costes and L'Avenue (my favorite). The food menu is similar except for brunch. Only come dress to the nine OR you'll be treated like a second class citizen. The restaurant is located in the richest area (Similar to Beverly Hills, CA and the Upper East Side in NY) of Paris and even though tourist come it's more welcoming to the rich locals. They frequent this location more than L'Avenue and other restaurants in Paris. It's their neighborhood bar. There is a club at the bottom area of the restaurant open late at night from 11pm-5am in the morning. The bouncer can be extremely discriminatory against Americans and other races. I was able to get into the club, but all venues aren't good venues. Just because I was allowed in doesn't mean, I should ignore what's going on here. It's all about looks. The ideal person for the club is Skinny, Caucasian, Young preferably (21-25) and Middle age Caucasian Men. I did see 2 black young females BUT they were with middle age or even older white men. Men who want to get in should have a female or several with them. "They" want to keep the scene to their liking at all cost and will discriminate. It's all about looks. The music is techno with a mix of American. I prefer to go to L'Avenue were everyone is accepted regardless of race, class, body size OR age. Even though, I was allowed in, I will not return again.

Yelp
We went for NYE 2021 and had one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. They served me spoiled fish which gave me the worst food poisoning of my life. The restaurant felt like a sauna, it was 90 degrees + in there, we were all sweating. The service is terrible, They I try to force you to order more expensive champagne and wine and begged for a larger tip.

Ella S.

Yelp
We were seated in the smallest hallway and the staff was bumping into me every time they passed me with no apology's, and messed up orders several times. Also felt rushed was in and out within an hour which is unheard of, my final straw was a staff member making a rude comment about my party as we were leaving. Save your money better food and service at less expensive places
google avatar

Nicky T.

Yelp
It is definitely a 4 star. Food was good Ambiance is very trendy and fun, romantic for sure. Music is loud and playing the whole time. Food came out SO FAST. We ordered and 10 mins later we where eating! And food was delicious We got: Truffle artichoke carpaccio - unreal Truffle pasta - so good Spring rolls - yumm Fries - wow Make a reservation later in because the basement turns into a nightclub after, super fun! Highly recommend going

Yelp
Horrible , bad expérience, when I tasted my dish, I thought I had the wrong address, I am really disappointed and even more for having brought my friends by saying that it was delicious

Melissa D.

Yelp
Amazing!!! I can't wait to go back to this restaurant. The vibe is right and the music is good.
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
Amazing. We came on Saturday night of Fashion week and it was PACKED. Luckily, a friend made a call and got us in...otherwise, MAKE A RESO. The ambiance upstairs was amazing. The DJ was playing great music and everything we had to eat was pretty good. We got the frites as an appetizer (literally everyone had them on their table, so we assumed they must be good.) Then we had the tomato and burrata salad, tomato and basil penne pasta, and a bottle of wine. My only regret was not trying the famous French toast...I just couldn't make any more room in my stomach! This will probably be my #1 recommendation for any of my friends going to Paris!
google avatar

Kristina R.

Yelp
Such a fun vibe! Our waiter was fantastic and recommended the best foods! The sesame seared ahi tuna with truffle mash potatoes was unbelievable! And the French toast was the best dessert I've had....EVER. Make sure to check out the dance club below..so much fun!
google avatar

Yasmin E.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE FOOD! We were recommended to come here for dinner while we were in Paris for our anniversary trip, and it was an amazing experience. Our sever was very friendly and fun, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was lively. Music playing and great vibes. I recommend going close to 10pm because it turns into a club. I recommend the following: - artichoke carpaccio - truffle penne - butter lettuce salad - sea bass sashimi - truffle fries - truffle pizza (As you can tell I'm really into truffle )
google avatar

Yelp
Totally pretentious place, total for show off. No idea about proper service... would not give even 1 star if that would be po
google avatar

Lauren W.

Yelp
Definite good vibe and good looking people. Cocktails are on the classic side but well made and the food is suprisingly good considering this is a 'see and be seen' kinda place. I'd recommend if you're feeling a little more spendy and want to have an atmospheric dinner.
google avatar

Stacie I.

Yelp
My business partner and our concierge both highly recommended this place and it did not disappoint!! Right at the end of Champs-Elysees. The food was very good, the atmosphere was rich and the servers were friendly and helpful. It was an expensive meal but I wanted to have one decadent night. Enjoyed this place a lot, will come back next time I'm in Paris.

Sochia R.

Yelp
I was recommended this spot based on its amazing atmosphere and food. Unfortunately I had a less than unsatisfactory experience. Our waiter Denis was very dismissive and would run away from our table after finishing half a sentence. I ordered the truffle pasta and the photos online is not what I received (the photos showed a full plate and I got 4 ravioli for 38 euro). The part that made me have to write this review is what happened to my Boyfriend. He is severely allergic to nuts and I told our server Denis that. We got the cookie desert being constantly reassured there was no nuts at all. He hands us the desert and it's covered in Pecans. I show him the dish and he dismisses us and denies those are pecans. He then comes back with the dish without pecans and says "oh yea they put the nuts on at the end" admitting he lied. My boyfriend was too paranoid to touch it at the end. The least that could have been done was comp the dessert off our bill. Maybe the experience was different for others who had a different waiter but I would never go back there after that.
google avatar

Vabs S.

Yelp
This review is for dining only and not the night club. Its about the ambience and the french toast. Even though there is no dress code, most people are dressed nice. Service is fancy. Salmon was good but chicken a little bit undercooked. The main surprise was french toast. If you like fluffy french toasts, you should not miss this. I wouldnt say too costly for a nice night.
google avatar

Joey C.

Yelp
Overrated. Poor menu selection, food was ok. They tried to make it seem as if they were almost fully booked yet half the restaurant was empty. Very arrogant staff and not sure why. Their drinks weren't good either so we stuck to champagne.
google avatar

Masha K.

Yelp
Super trendy restaurant in Paris that has a nightclub downstairs. If you've been to Delilah in LA it has a similar vibe. Definitely would check it out
google avatar

Pedi H.

Yelp
Delicious food and an amazing and hip ambiance with most amazing espresso martini in town. Our waiter Anna was awesome, helpful, sweet and quick.
google avatar

Olya T.

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere! Fantastic decor and even lovelier staff. Lighting exceeds the expectations just as the cocktails. Keep up the wonderful work you are doing!
google avatar

Brianna R.

Yelp
This place is totally trendy and chic and a prime spot for some seriously sceney people watching. We happend to be there on the last night of Paris Fashion Week and the crowd was absolutely stunning. There were two tables near us with parties of about 8 or 10 or so and we're pretty sure they were hot designers with their model entourage. The DJ during dinner was one of the best we've heard in a long time. Portions were small and we weren't too impressed with the food based on the price point but I guess you go to a place like this more for the scene anyway. If you go on a weekend, having dinner here will give you access to the uber exclusive club. We dined on a Wednesday so the club was closed, but the atmosphere and DJ had us dancing in our seats during dinner anyway. Dress nice, avoid the patio if you prefer to avoid smoke, and know that you might wonder if these stick thin women surrounding you ever eat.
google avatar

Cynthia M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, food and service. Trendy place, be prepared to dress to impress and better to eat later like 10pm.
google avatar

Therese D.

Yelp
I wanted to LOVE this place so bad! I was sooooo excited to come here, my partner and I got all dressed up, and was so excited. Unfortunately, it was one disaster after another. I felt very mistreated and will never be returning, and have told many friends about my experience. We were given seats, and then after ordering coffees to start, our Waiter was extremely snobby, and a woman came over and say we no longer were welcome to sit at the table and grabbed my stuffed and told us to move to a table in the corner. I said we weren't even done ordering yet- if they were mad we didn't order more, they could have said that but we didn't have the chance. She looked at me disgusted and smiled at my boyfriend, and they ONLY would look at him and address him. I don't put the accusation of being racist out there EVER but I couldn't believe it. I felt very mistreated. Coat check was also a disaster, the woman rolled her eyes at me multiple times ( it kept being the wrong coat). I felt very defeated when I left- we were about to drop a pretty penny but they didn't even want to give me the time of day. Wouldn't look or address me. Was just devastated.

Mike A.

Yelp
The food is amazing best food in Paris. The music was very good. The vibe was awesome. Waiters are very nice very good service. I will highly recommend this place to everyone in Paris. Very classy and clean
google avatar

Elle L.

Yelp
Great, welcoming and friendly staff Has an indoors smoking area Nice music, and gets better once the place starts getting more crowd Opens till late
google avatar

Nelli B.

Yelp
Hands down the most beautiful and poppin restaurant I've been to. We came on a Saturday night by the recommendation of a friend, who reached out to the owner on our behalf and got us in. It was Paris Fashion Week and the restaurant was PACKED. Upstairs is the restaurant with music and the downstairs is a club. For dinner we had frites (obvi), tomato and creamy burrata salad (bomb), spiced tomato penne, and a bottle of wine. Everything was delicious, and as busy as the bustling the restaurant was, our server was great. The owner even stopped by to say hello. Great experience.

Yelp
I'm a Fan,Nice Place,Great Service and Lots Of Bitches. Love it

Amit C.

Yelp
Great food and location. Came to Paris for one night and was debating on few spots. Definitely worth checking out.
google avatar

A L.

Yelp
Trendy place in a prestigious avenue. Beautiful people everywhere. Nice ambiance music. The food is very good, but the overall bill is a bit exaggerated (125€ per person, including wine), which prevents me from going 5 stars. This is mostly a place where you go if you need to show off your new designer dress or suit. Which is fine from time to time.

Mathilde D.

Yelp
"French toast" from Matignon is the reason why I went to Paris! I have been dreaming about this desert since 2014 ! It was REALLY GOOD ! I LOVE IT!

Zanda L.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere here, great location, and the vibe here is awesome, very friendly. Came here on a Wednesday night and we reserved bottle service, our guy was Alex, absolutely amazing service. It got very crowded pretty quick and it was only Wednesday night. Music here is great, very upbeat, would go back again just for that.

Drew R.

Yelp
Best steak! Hottest girls in france sitting across us and mostest sexiest men ever to my left and right! This is my new favorite place in Paris!

La M.

Yelp
Upon arrival, the hostess would not honor the reservation, blamed the reservation system, said they tried to call as many people "as they could" (but apparently not us ,in fact we tried calling them several times prior to arriving with some questions about menu and they didn't even answer their phone). As far as doing even the least to rectify the situation, the hostess shrugged her shoulders and expressed nothing but disdain and disrespect for our party, took no responsibility for the situation, and offered no assistance in accommodating us. If the table service and food preparation is as abysmal and without regard to customers or accuracy as the host desk was, expect a very dismal and regrettable experience at Matignon. I highly recommend not subjecting yourself to an experience that makes an attempt to appear chic and trendy, but ends up looking like a sad attempt at trying to be cool when they are simply incapable of doing the proper work to achieve it. See attached for the poor performer who shouldn't be allowed to represent this restaurant in any capacity.
