Matilda's Artisan Bakery, Café, & Deli

I loved everything! The service was wonderful. They made me one of the best sandwiches I've had in my adult life on their beautiful sourdough (excuse the mess I made of it in my photo while eating it!). The matcha latte was great and the bakes were all superb. Lots of nice treats to enjoy here- homemade granola, overnight oats, breads, all sorts of bakes, soup, sandwiches, crisps, preserves... So happy to stop here on my journey ☺️ Thank you ❤️

Popped in for a bite to eat while passing through. Whay a beautiful little place. The food was beautiful and served with great coffee. Staff are very welcome too

Heard that black pudding sausage roll is nice and gotta try when we were passing by. Sausage roll was nice but we’ve tried different herby sausage rolls in different places and this one didn’t reach to that level unfortunately. Maybe we expected too much. Eclair was very airy and chocolatey. Don’t usually like eclairs but it was very tasty!

Best bakery I found in Ireland. Good small town vibe, family owned and operated. Home baked delicious food actually baked on premises - sadly too rare these days. I had the best sausage roll I've ever had. Too bad I didn't take a picture. But my girlfriend took a picture of her rhubarb pie. Go out of your way to stop there.

Wonderful family run artisan bakery. The staff are always very nice and friendly. The sourdough bread is out of this world. I’ve noticed other cafes in surrounding towns now stocking this bread also. I’ve eaten the sausage roll and multiple salads from Matilda’s and have never been disappointed. Very tasty food. Would highly recommend!

A True Gem in Carrickmacross! This bakery is simply outstanding! Matilda's offers arguably the best pastry in Ireland and possibly the best bread ever baked on the planet. Their coffee and all its variations, like cappuccinos, are stunning and unique. What truly sets this place apart is the staff; they are not only incredibly friendly, but they also work swiftly and lovingly, making you feel like you’re among best friends. A must-visit for anyone in the area!

I recently visited this charming cafe, and it exceeded my expectations! The cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and delectable deli made for a delightful experience. I highly recommend trying the broccoli salad, super delicious and flavour combination is super tasty. My children adore the hot chocolate with toasted marshmallows – it's genuinely the real deal! The warm atmosphere and outdoor seating area makes this Matildas a perfect spot for a catch up with friends.
