Matso's Sunshine Coast Brewery

We stopped in when we went to Emundi Market. It was spacious, had a variety of seating options, and a nice atmosphere. There was a playground and lawn, and it seemed child and dog friendly. We ordered ginger beer, which was just the right level of spiciness for us.

Popped in for a drink whilst waiting on friends who were at the market and instantly wished we ditched the market earlier to spend more time here! Great vibes. Amazing beer garden. Top notch drinks.

Best ginger beer made IMO. Plus heaps of delicious alternative. Food is unreal, we got the noodles and spring rolls, plus the karaage chicken. (Mix them both) really good. The stand out is the staff though. Super genuine, they do an awesome job.

Really disappointed in this place as it has potential to be awesome. The bartenders are super uninterested in talking to anyone. I’m on a solo work trip and like experiencing new places on my own. Served by 3 different male bartenders, all say ‘what would you like’ and then that’s it. No hi, how are you? or how’s your day going? I ordered a paddle and tried to make small talk while they made it, ask how long they’ve worked here, etc, but got very blunt responses. Just seems like they don’t want to be there. The venue is beautiful and so spacious, backyard with kids playing around and families enjoying the atmosphere. The food however is atrocious. Pizza was like cardboard. $28 for 5 rotten prawns. God knows how old these are. Black, bruised spotted body, disgusting inside, cloudy eyes. I can’t fathom what has gone so wrong within management or the head chefs responsibilities for this poor quality to be allowed. This is the sunshine coast. There is no excuse for this. Do better.

What an awesome venue this was. The playground/play area was great for the kids which means I could enjoy my delicious ginger beer in relative peace. The vibe is really chilled and relaxed but inviting to larger and smaller groups alike.

1st experience at Matso's was 5 star and 2nd experience (which was today) was below a 1 star. Wow, the service from Ella was appalling. All i asked for was some extra sauce please as the last time i ate at matsos my dish had more sauce. Instead of just a yes or no answer i got 'different chefs serve the meals differently' i then showed her a photo of the dish and her next reply was 'my boss says we are not a fine dining establishment'. Wonderful, thats great Ella but maybe you could tell your boss to teach his staff some consistency and for you.... some manners. ✌️

We had a stop here for lunch. Unfortunately it was super busy to be in the space at the back so we had a table in the front pub. The kids had some food from the kids menu and we had some delicious pizzas! The beer was superb!

Staff, food, drinks and place was all great but the online order asked for a tip, asking for a phone number and adding a credit card surcharge is fine I guess, but no one wants tipping in Australia, especially after spending 25-30 dollars on a meal. Pay your staff proper wages. I hope tips are just turned on by accident.
