Matsuei Sushi Bar Panama

We had the himachi roll, chirashizusi donburi, the ceviche frito and the california roll with tuna instead of crab. The food is exceptional. The service is top notch. The ceviche frito on the menu made me skeptical reading the description but I was dumbfounded at the light fresh sea bass flavor! I’m a tuna lover and loved all of the sushi! These were two dinners and we will be back for a third tomorrow night as well! Third night here in a row and the food was phenomenal yet again! Vladimir provided excellent service all three nights! And Sergio is the chef that created all the amazing sushi! He should be called Chef Milagro (miracle) because his sushi is absolute perfection! I added a few more pictures: We asked for Chef Sergio to make me a special roll and it was amazing. He knows I love tuna! And the other plate is the Langostino Ajillo, also amazingly delicious.

My favorite sushi restaurant in Panama! I’ve been coming here for almost 10 years, and they manage to stay consistent which is very admirable. I ordered takeout from them (I usually go to the restaurant), and I was so pleasantly surprised with this stunning gesture. Even when I order takeout, they blow me away❤️

I've had a lot of sushi around the world and I hate to say"Best Sushi ever"... but I was extremely impressed with the quality and technic with this sushi. The Unagi was so good, I ordered another . Edward was a very good member of the staff. I even ended with a Tres Leches that was the best I ever had.

I spent 6 months working in Okinawa several years ago, and return occasionally for brief work trips. It was then that I got turned on to sushi. Now living in Panama I've tried a few sushi places here and have been disappointed until today. Matsuei is awesome and will be my go to place in Panama. Really enjoyed the Ebi Tempura and Ebi Gomayaki. The rolls and Nigiri are good size portions. My wife wanted to try the Fried Ice Cream and loved it. But the best part is they serve Orion beer!! Sergio was our excellent server, friendly and very attentive. I hope to be able to meet the owner next time to give her our compliments.

This is my top 3 restaurants in Panama. It's the triple threat, excellent service (classy attention to detail with smiles and a very welcoming type of treatment, every restoruant-goers dream), excellent food (you'll want to come back for more, everyone does), and excellent New York/Cozy jazzy dimmed lighting type of ambient, very movie-esque... take someone special to fall in love again. P.S. if you get Alex as a waiter, you are in good hands.

Matsuei is an amazing restaurant! The sushi is perfect, fresh and delicious with good portion sizes. They have both classic rolls and some creative ones as well. The atmosphere is perfect! Warm lighting, soft music and a playful japanese aesthetic. The service is friendly, welcoming and attentive. Special shout-out to our server Edgar! We've been here twice and will definitely return.

Edgar was my very excellent server. I was not sure what was available so I mentioned what I hoped for and he came up with a perfect solution. He also checked to make sure all was well during the meal which was exceptional. Everything was fresh, what was cooked was hot and all was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant and will certainly come again.

Level of service, the quality of the food, the authencity of the place is just the cherry on top on having a great culinary experience in Panama. By far one of the best place to eat here. I come with my family and specially one of our favorite because they have a corner for kids entertainment. Abdiel, Alex and the whole team are kind, well prepared and provide the best service! I love it here!
