Matsuei Sushi Bar Panama

A fun and delicious experience. The staff were attentive to our needs and the menu is truly varied and extensive. Vegan and vegetarian options fill this menu. I got the cerviche fritos which was tempura battered sea bass bites which were hot and flavorful. I also got the chicken katsu curry bowl which came with the curry on the side to be poured at your leisure. The curry had that traditional Japanese taste which is sweet, mild and full bodied. The menu is now accessible from a QR code at your table which you use to get attention and order your meals. The cost was a bit more than I expected but the quality made up for it. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a Japanese meal.

Nice place, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. The food was fresh and tasty, portions really big (surprised us). Just good place for quite and a pleasant dinner.

First of all - come here for the sushi! We deviated from the sushi because there are sooooo many options on the menu! We enjoyed one dish - the sushi. The edamame was mediocre and would not recommend. The other appetizer we ordered was the Alitas Maple - chicken wings with maple syrup and honey base sauce. Too much breading, not wings and average. We ordered the Platano Roll which was great - def would recommend! I ordered the Sopa de Jengibre which was as chicken broth and vegetables and was okay flavor with a huge portion! Service was average - no follow up once food was delivered and no refill on water.

Looks like an authentic Japanese Restaurant. I enjoyed my experience here. Their Sashimi was very good and their menu selection has a little of everything. It's the only Japanese restaurant I've been to in Panama that felt and looked authentic. I will definitely come again

Best Japanese food in Panama City is the way to describe this place super impressed by the quality and service. The food was amazing and the best I have eaten in Panama City. Must try

My husband and I come here each time we visit Panama City. We love it for the food and the atmosphere. They have a big menu with lots of options for everyone but our favorite is the smoked salmon sushi roll and the fried cauliflower. It has a romantic and private atmosphere with excellent service. I happen to love the waitstaff call button on the table, nice touch. Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting Christopher, a third generation restaurateur, of this lovely family run business. Hope to see you all again soon!

Good food bad service. Beef Curry - this looked awful and tasted amazing! Very tender beef and root vegetables. Chef cut all the veggies to the same size so they cooked evenly. Impressed with this dish. Ordered salmon lovers roll - average quality. Sushi rice slightly mushy and overcooked. Roll kept falling apart. You have to ring a doorbell to enter the restaurant - odd to me. Maybe a local custom. Sushi, curry and sake came to $40.
