You could enjoy Matsumoto famous dish "山賊燒" here! You could choose different sauces to try with the fried chicken! Yummy!

There are all delicious!!! The fried chicken dishes are crispy and moist. I love it. Fried chicken and beer are the best combination in the world 😌💛 There’s only 1-2 staffs for service in queue and order. Please wait a little if you come in rush hour.

Located on 4th floor of station. Popular place as need to write down your name & queue. Although there is no English menu, you won't go wrong with Sanzokuyaki chicken as this is what matsumoto is famous for. Well worth the money!

The two-style chicken menus were delicious, offering a tasty flavor and crispy texture while keeping the meat juicy. Various sauces were available on the table. Additionally, the all-you-can-eat pickled bean sprouts were very yummy. However, when it comes to the service, it was a little uncomfortable. I arrived there around 6:30 PM and joined the queue around 7 PM. While I was eating, I felt like the staff really wanted to go home because they came and looked at me many times, and not just one staff, but all of them. They did this to many tables around me as well.

Located above the JR train station, at F4. Large dishes of juicy fried chicken. The Sunzokuyaki plate was perfectly done, the karaage plate was under cooked, and some parts were still raw. They serve local beer, and basic fruite juice ( take the beer, not the juice...)

Ordered the take out here and the karaage was delivered quickly and the chicken was tasty as well. However, the interaction with the female staff that I had has just a very rude attitude that made even a short ordering takeout experience terrible. We are just customers trying to purchase from the establishment, it is not like we did something and owe you tremendously. There are better karaage stores if you are considering . Also be warned if you do get the chicken that it does have a strong smell for the train.

We were a bit skeptical to try this place at first based on the reviews but we glad we did! The karaage is so crunchy yet juicy and tasty at the same time. The cabbages are also so crispy. We ordered 2 meals only for 3 fully grown adults and we were so full. The Japanese mayonnaise sachets on the table compliment both the karaage and cabbage. Definitely must try! P.S They have an English menu.

Heard about this famous restaurant for its sanzokuyaki chicken and finally went on our last night in Matsumoto as it is just above the Matsumoto station. Staff speaks limited English but there's English menu. I ordered the set the comes with soba noodles. The portion was huge!! Chicken was cut in thick slices but moist inside. Suggest if you are not that hungry, can share between 2 pax if restaurant allowed for 1 order and other side dishes or just order the normal chicken set. The pickled ginger is one of the best I have ever tasted - crunchy, not too sweet or sour and usually I don't like it! We went quite late and waited 20mins to enter around 7pm or so and food was served not long after our order. The restaurant closes at 8pm so you have to eat fast as they don't allow customers to stay on.
