Had the wonderful chance to stay at matsusaki for 3 days, from the beginning it was soo lovely. The food was perfect, everyday we got to try different meals specialty to the region and season, and they use the best ingredients! also breakfast was so good! and the presentation of the food was beautiful! The service was impeccable and they really care about all the smallest details, we feel really taken care of. thankyou very much Michiko-san. The ryokan itself is so wonderful, cozy and perfect for a family getaway, the onsens was so nice and we also had the private onsen in the room and we use it every day! the water is very relaxing and made our skin so soft. they also had a massage chair which we thought was a wonderful addition! They have a lovely tearoom overlooking the pond where we can enjoy matcha or any drink. For transport the hotel also provides shuttle into and out of stations that has easy access to Kanazawa when we want to wander around! we love the town and all the arts and crafts and culinary! we find this really convenient and we love that matsusaki is in a quite area where you can really hear the nature. all in all, matsusaki is a very zen place to heal and be happy, our perfect holiday!

Our first ryokan experience in Japan 🇯🇵 — and Matsusaki made it unforgettable. I chose it after a lot of research, and it exceeded every expectation. Megumi-san, who looked after us during the stay, was incredibly kind. Even though we couldn’t speak or understand Japanese, communication was never a problem. I wish we’d gotten a photo with her. All the staff were warm, attentive, and even accommodated my food allergies perfectly. 😊 The room was peaceful, the cherry blossoms were in bloom, and the private onsen was amazing. Big shoutout to the lady in the biege kimono — I believe she was the owner/manager — her presence reflected the spirit of the place. Arigatou gozaimasu for taking such good care of us. We’ll definitely return one day. 🙇🏻

The staff are highlight of this ryokan. They really went above and beyond to make us welcome. We even forgot some things in the room after we had left and they went out of their way to get it back. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. They help arrange for shuttle service to and from the subway station. Multiple bathhouses at their facility.

We had the most amazing time at Matsusaki onsen and lived there for 1 night, we stayed in the main building on the first floor with our own private bath in the room, the hot baths were great not to crowded in the evenings, the food was amazing our group loved it!! One of our favourite courses in our meal plan was the grilled mead On a hot plate amazing!! We had the most amazing hostess Nathalie that took good care of us and saw that our every need was met, the lovely wife of the owner greeted us and saw that we had a fabulous time!!! Quiet and a bit outside of the town they offered a shuttle bus so it was easy for us to get there. It is exactly what we were looking for in a ryokan we would gladly come back again soon!!!

This place was my first ryokan in Japan and I had an even better experience than expected ! The room was like the picture, the bath was warm with an amazing view and the food was fantastic! The service was perfect. Really I just recommended it to all my friends for their future vacation to Japan. I wish I could just stay there forever 🥹

We booked this hotel as our “nice getaway in Japan”. We spent months planning and chose this hotel based on its stellar reviews and picturesque photos. We said “treat YOSELF” as we paid the high rates. Arriving, we entered the facility with excitement and were heralded to our rooms to a “welcome tea ceremony” that felt chaotic, rushed, and left us bewildered. There was only one staff member who spoke English, and while she was exceptional, she also seemed to be overworked and spread a little too thin. She was called anytime we needed anything, and I’m not sure she was given any time to think or sleep. After check-in, we were welcomed to dinner which was held in a weird, sparse, conference room with fold out tables and chairs and very little decor. The dinner was also chaotic and the food was not great. We made it through dinner and tried out the private onsen. It was fine. All of it felt super outdated and while the price tag felt luxurious, the experience felt like a sad budget nursing home. We ended up leaving early and spent our precious and limited vacation time exploring more of Japan. Best decision we ever made.

First ryokan experience and would definitely recommend Matsusaki! Also quite close to Kanazawa, so very convenient for an overnight before/after visiting the city. Our host Nathalie went above and beyond to make our stay extra special!

My wife and I had an excellent stay. The staff was very thoughtful and the food was absolutely delicious. The private onsen in our room had a great view to a garden.
