AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS||Our family’s recent stay at Mattenhof Resort was a nightmare. My son, who is Jewish, was subjected to vile harassment by a staff member, a Moroccan individual, who spat out the words “f_cking Jewish c_nt”—yes, those exact words. This was not a slip, misunderstanding, or awkward comment. It was a deliberate, hateful slur. Anyone hearing this should be utterly outraged.||||But it didn’t stop there. We were stunned to learn that drug use and even sales were occurring openly among the staff. We’re not talking “one person was caught with something late at night.” We’re talking a blatant disregard for propriety—and the law—on property where paying guests are trying to relax.||||Inexcusable failings:||||Hate speech: My son was directly targeted with an anti-Semitic slur. This is not just offensive—it’s discriminatory hate speech that can cause trauma and ostracization.||Criminal behavior: Reports of drug use and distribution among staff on-site are deeply disturbing, unsafe, and entirely unacceptable in a hotel setting.||Company culpability: Whether this came from an ill-trained or malicious employee, the hotel management is responsible for the conduct of its staff. Their failure to supervise and enforce any standard of behavior is a direct stamp of approval.||Bottom line: Mattenhof Resort failed on every level. This isn’t a case of “I didn’t like my room.” This is a case of verbal abuse based on my son’s religion, by someone hired to serve guests. It’s a violation of basic human decency and safety.||Shame on you, Mattenhof Resort. I hope this review sparks a thorough internal investigation, immediate firing of the offender(s), and a full apology to my son and our family. But let me be clearer: I strongly advise you to choose any other hotel—every other hotel—before even considering a stay here.

Suitably located. Petra was really helpful and she accepted our request for an early check-in on a very short notice. Really satisfied with the amenities as well

So loud, people can hear when someone's walking from another room. Unfortunately when I overnight there, people from another room was talking super loudly at 1 AM. I also washed my clothes there for 5 CHF, and it turns out bad because my clothes smells stink after wash. But room is big enough, and I got visitor's card so I can drive by bus around Interlaken, Unterseen and etc.(only around nearby cities)

Stayed for 6 nights in the hotel resort / hostel A decent clean room with daily housing keeping . Comfortable level was low due to noise pollution by the guests partying till 2 am .

A quirky, timeless place in an authentic setting. Super friendly staff, close to all amenities, spacious rooms, and a breathtaking view of the Jungfrau!

One of my favourite spots in Switzerland, Old world charm, unfortunately a bit run down but this doesn’t distract from its beauty and ambience…

We stayed at the hotel on November 29, 2024. I don't mind that the hotel is old, the furniture is old, and the glass windows are in very bad condition. The real problem is that the hotel is not respectful to its guests. The loud birthday party downstairs continued past midnight. Hotels must respect guests' right to rest.
