A Highland Park gem for design lovers (+ceramics enthusiasts like me). Always my my first stop when I'm in LA!

Best, cutest, most beautiful store ever.

Excellent selection and excellent customer service.

Some neat things. Not too much to look at.

Spoke on the phone with someone named Michelle who sounded like an intern regarding renovating a 4k sqft house in the hills. Got the "I'm sorry I'm way too cool to be talking to you" attitude. Without finding out my budget ( which happens to be half a mil ) she announced via email that it won't be a good fit since they are not interested in working on small projects. Not sure how they got the 5 stars but this felt like amateur hour. I've worked with top, award winning creatives they do not behave this way.

PJ and Kat are an impossibly talented duo - from furniture and jewelry design to complete home renovation, they bring an abundance of charisma and talent to the table. Their design sensibility is on-trend and beyond, and their ability to work with ANY BUDGET makes them a STANDOUT in the design field. I have worked with them on several projects, including an office remodel, furniture design and a home renovation. If you are on York Blvd. in Highland Park, you must stop in and say hello. "Meets and exceeds expectations" every time!!

These two matchless ladies have done several design projects and consultations for my partner and me, and we just keep bringing 'em back for more! I can't recommend them highly enough. PJ and Kat have ACUTE senses of color, style, texture, and layout. Not only that, but they are inventive (yet somehow practical, it's remarkable) in their design. If it is meaningful to you to live with design that feels both timeless and original at the same time, you cannot do better than working with these two.

Matters of Space is a good store for gifts and cards but also great for kitchen and home items that are beautiful AND useful. The space is open and easy to shop and the staff is knowledgable about the independent designs in the store.

We had the pleasure of working on our first home with Kat and PJ and the experience completely exceeded our expectations. They were able to fully transform our home from ULTRA modern, severe (a lot of black/red/navy/aluminum) and cold to warm, chic and on trend (although not too on-trend- we all hate that, right? :) ) The MOS team listened to our hopes and dreams about our house and helped us figure out how to accomplish those goals within our budget. I trust Kat and PJs aesthetic wholeheartedly. Their designs are innovative. Their energy is infectious. Some things we could never have done without them, you ask?: - create a lighting plan in the home that makes sense! - choose lighting fixtures that are timeless yet hip - find the right pillows, rugs, blinds, textures, etc. - CREATE A FUNCTIONAL KITCHEN!! - incorporate custom-built, MOS-designed furniture like no other items in the market - paint the entire interior of our 2-story home in a VERY timely manner - choose paint colors that are also timeless, not just trendy (like my pinterest would have preferred) We look forward to working with the Matters of Space team on all future homes. I'm honestly not sure how we would do it without them. We now have a home that we love and are inspired by every day. Thank you Kat + PJ.

Wow talk about having an eye for detail and style. Kat and PJ are amazing ladies and I was bummed out when the project was done which by the way was suppose to be 2 weeks but they did it in 1. Their creativity and ability to understand what I was looking for ( even though I was not always able to articulate it lol ) was unparalleled and I truly appreciate it. You girls RocK ;-)

I called today to see if they could help consult on a remodel I was working on --- they said they are WAY too busy and won't be available for a few months if that... Oh well. I am giving 4 stars because I don't want to negatively affect their rating but I am pretty disappointed that they aren't even answering inquiries at this point. I definitely felt the 'I'm too cool for you' vibe which I feel is kinda lame.

I have been working with Katerina to help design our new house and she is simply fabulous! From the nuts and bolts stuff like picking paint colors and light fixtures to the fun frills of fabrics and pillows, she has a great eye! I know she's saved me money and time by helping me make good decisions out of the gate. She is respectful of my personal style, yet helps enhance effortlessly. She is also so sweet and totally delightful to work with! Rates respect your budget and are much more reasonable than you'd expect. If you've never worked with a designer before, now is the time and Matters of Space is where to start! Haven't worked with PJ really, but I'm sure she's wonderful too.
