Places I'd like to try in Toronto
View Postcard for Matty’s Patty’s Burger Club

Top burger alert: A Toronto Burger Revelation! That's exactly the message I want to shout from the rooftops after finally experiencing Matty's Patties yesterday. In a city brimming with culinary choices, I'm constantly on the hunt for those truly life-changing bites, and Matty's has been on my radar for a while. What an absolute delight to discover this place embodies everything that's right about the Toronto food scene. From the moment I walked in, the positive energy was palpable. The staff are genuinely happy to be there, and every single interaction, from ordering to receiving my food, was nothing short of fantastic. Their enthusiasm is infectious and truly adds to the overall experience. And then there's the food. I opted for their classic cheeseburger, and boy, was I impressed. The patty itself was a masterpiece – perfectly cooked, incredibly juicy, and seasoned to perfection. The sauce was a delicious complement, but the real showstopper for me was the bread. Oh, that bread! Generously adorned with sesame seeds, it held everything together beautifully and added another layer of texture and flavour. With every bite, I found myself getting a little bit sadder, knowing that this exceptional burger would soon be a delicious memory. I absolutely cannot wait to go back and dive deeper into their menu, not just for the food, but also for another helping of those friendly faces. Matty's Patties delivers a top-notch burger that truly lives up to the standards of a city that deserves only the best.

Google
Great smash burger. Good crisp/char. Nothing complicated about the toppings which keeps the taste nice and simple. You need at least double to get meatiness. Loved the abundant sesame seeds bun but with a thinner patty, it is a little too much bun or you have to get more meat. Not a very big shop (cozy seating) on a very busy street. I recommend if looking for a good smash burger. I hear they do their fries in beef tallow which is something to try next but the fries don't look fresh cut.

Google
We had an amazing time here. The staff was very friendly, the place has a great vibe and you're able to get merchandise for the restaurant and Matty here. I usually like my burger cooked a bit more but it was still fantastic. Definitely coming back next time im in Toronto.

Nina

Google
The smash burger and chili cheese fries were delicious. It definitely "hit the spot" for me in satisfying my hunger! I had the double cheeseburger 🍔 with Matty's Patty's sauce and pickles jalapeños mayo. It's a great spot for hamburger lovers!

Google
I don’t see the Hype. One of the driest beef burgers I’ve had in my life. The beef patty itself was utterly dry, quite disappointing considering it’s a smash burger. Smash burgers are far easier to avoid making dry compared to a classic thick patty. Quite disappointing, my favourite thing was the Sesame Bun honestly, also, no caramelized onions?

Brandon Wigboldy

Google
Good burger overall but wasn't amazing. A little greasy for my liking. Not a lot of flavor either in the meat. Fries were very good. Neat little place to check out and staff was very friendly and helpful.

Google
Great burger, I went on a burger taste test around Toronto trying 6 of the most iconic burger spots in Toronto. This one we awarded the most unique tasting, it stood out from the rest. The sesame seed bun is beautiful and absolutely littered with sesames which I love. The sauce is a little mustard forward which I thought tasted great, but if you aren’t into mustard you might want to get a different sauce on it. Overall, great burger and somewhat unique.

Google
Entering the person running the front was busy but didn't take long to take my order. I'm Matty biased but I'm not giving it five stars. I was hoping for a little more flavor from the beef and wish the buns had held up the grease a little better. There's just so much competition in the burger world these days it's getting harder to stand out but I can always appreciate a smash burger. Thank Matty and team!

Yelp
Really yummy burgers. Made to order, a little on the pricey side, but the meat is high quality and the sesame seed buns are mouth watering all on their own. French fries are McDs matchstick style and very crisp. The decor in the takeout restaurant is surf club style and modern. Very nice place to snack on your burger. But, only a handful of tables. On the plus side the Trinity Bellwoods park is just across Queen Street, and there are plenty of benches and picnic tables.

Yelp
An intriguing stop while visiting our family in a Toronto! My son said this place is very popular and has great food. He wasn't wrong. My first try at Poutine! I found it quite delicious. My son told me if you're going to try Poutine this is the place to try them. For those who don't know Poutine are fries covered in gravy and cheese curds! Everyone in the group ordered burgers which were pretty good. I bought my grandsons chocolate shakes in my opinion they were awesome and I should have ordered one for myself. The downside to Matty's is the limited seating. We were lucky enough to grab six seats for our group. I'm guessing people get their order to go. If and when I get back to Toronto I'll have to put this ad a place to return to!

Yelp
Hello people, another Saturday night burger review. Tonight's pick is Matty's Patty's Burger Club. Ordered a double cheeseburger combo with onion rings and the special coffee milkshake. You may think that's an odd choice for a Saturday night just before 9pm when it's 6 degrees but I'm an odd person sometimes. The place is packed, which is always a good sign for me. Why the double smash over the 7ounce burger? The lovely girl at the counter recommended it, and I do favour a recommendation every time. Ok, here we go, the onion rings were ample, hot, crunchy and a bit oily but over all very good. The burger, first bite was all mustard, but the second and remaining bites were all taste, and very tasty indeed, a bit of a soggy bottom bun but it is a smash burger so that's normal. But the highlight of it all is the coffee shake. Oh my it is something worth getting. As far as rankings go, definitely belongs in the top 10 for the city, but top 5? Maybe, just maybe. Include the coffee and I'd say yes burger lovers and coffee lovers come here for sure. Until next time, enjoy.

Yelp
This is easily one of the top 3 burgers i've ever had. Perfectly cooked smash burger patty, Matty's sauce was SO GOOD, and i loooooved the sesame seed bun! Pretty small joint so not a lot of searing, but worth going for sure.
google avatar

Becky C.

Yelp
Solid burger! They do what they know and they do it will. Great onion rings and I love that they serve black cherry to drink. So delicious!! Only complaint was that our fries were room temp but everything else was pretty solid. I wish pickles came on the burger.

Yelp
I love Matty's Patty's--it's one of my favorite burger spots in the city. As a vegetarian, I appreciate their Impossible Burger. I ordered the double patty with Matty Patty sauce and a side of shoestring fries. The double patty was a bit dry, but the sweet and spicy sauce I got on the side was fantastic and added juiciness and flavour to the burger. Overall, Matty's Patty's always satisfies my burger cravings, and the sesame bun is a great touch!

Yelp
As big fans of Matty Matteson, we were excited to spot Matty's patty's. We recently checked out Rizzo's house of Parm in Fort Erie and loved the ambience and food there so we were looking forward to grabbing a Patty's at Matty's ! Tiny little space - I think seats for nine... Hip ambience, friendly staff that explained the difference between the menu items. We tried the single patty and french fries and onion rings. The Patty is pretty smashed - taste more of griddled cheese than meat but the matty special sauce was tasty. Definitely on the salty side. The Fries looked a bit anemic but tasted fine. Onion rings were nice thick cuts of onion.

Yelp
I got the Double cheese burger with fries and onion rings. It's this best burger in the city in my option! I only ordered it through Uber eats so I'm not sure about the ambiance of the restaurant. The size of the burger is huge and normally fancy burgers like this is a lot smaller.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Great burger and great beer. What more can you ask for? Walk up service counter style burger joint with a simple menu filled with all the essentials: burger, fries, shakes, and beer. Onion rings also look so good. Sat outside at one of their benches and enjoyed every bite!

Yelp
We were down in Liberty Village and made the conscious choice to walk for 15 minutes to Matty's Patty's. Heard nothing but praises, so we needed to try it. The place is right across from Trinity Bellwod Park. It was rammed and we were warned our order would take 20 minutes. It took longer than 20 minutes. I ordered Matty's 7oz Cheeseburger. They overloaded it with onion and their mustard sauce which took away the flavour of the burger. I liked the fact they cooked it medium rare but as I said the flavour of the beef was lost in the sauce and onion. The burger wasn't horrible but definitely didn't live up to the hype as one of the best burgers in Toronto. I was truly disappointed. Wish I would have tried their smash burger and milk shake. Maybe next time.
google avatar

Yelp
The Matty's Combo was simply put, Chef's kiss. I wasn't sure what to expect from the restaurant when it was suggested to me but I knew the food wasn't going to disappoint. Could have done without the fries and maybe would have tried the onion rings but alas. The burger was succulent, juicy and like probably one of the best I have ever tasted. If you go, either be prepared to wait for a seat to eat or take you yumminess to go. The vibes are cozy for sure.

Yelp
The Matty Patty double cheeseburger with MP sauce was amazing and one of the best burgers I've had

Yelp
My roommate and I finally decided to try Matty's Patty's as we've heard such amazing things. We both got the double cheese burger, shared some chilli cheese fries and I got a chocolate milkshake. I can't speak to the atmosphere of the establishment as we did order the food. The fries in the chilli cheese fries were not as crispy as I usually like but were still very good. They were topped with not so much chilli but mostly meat, onions, and cheese. Wasn't as saucy as chilli fries usually are which honestly helped keep the structure of the fry instead of making it too weighed down. I absolutely adore milkshakes and am very particular with them, and this chocolate milkshake was perfection! Creamy, not too heavy, and the perfect chocolate hit. I'm usually not a huge fan of smash burgers as I prefer a thicker patty but the flavour was great and although there was a lot of cheese it wasn't too overpowering for the meat. The MP sauce was great and helped create the perfect melt and blend everything together. Overall it was pretty good, worth the money? Not really, but worth the try.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Matty so I was super excited to check out Matty's Patty's Burger Club when I was visiting Toronto in June with some friends. Located way down Queen Street West, this place is located in a pretty sweet location around some desert shops and not to farm from Doc's Leathers also, which is always a fun time to walk around. We came here on what I believe was a Saturday afternoon and the place had a decent number of people picking up orders and filling the tables up. I'm easy, so I ordered the Double Patty Cheeseburger which was a basic double cheeseburger with the fixings and I chose to not get anything on the side so I could please my sweet tooth after this. The food didn't take too long to come out and when I finally bit in I thought "this is a standard double cheeseburger" and that was pretty much the only thing I could muster up opinion wise. The burger was good, but it wasn't anything I see thinking about again in the future, and for $12 I could get the same exact burger at a dozen other places for less money. Overall, I was a little let down by Matty's Patty's Burger Club and it's not really a place I see myself coming back to in the future. The food was fine, the restaurant was nice, and I have no real complaints, it's just not much bang for the buck. PS: The photo below is not mine, it's someone I knows because I forgot to take a picture.

Yelp
This place lives up to the hype. The employees are always willing to explain the process and how their smash burgers are unique and you can tell they're proud of the food they produce. I don't even mind the wait because I know it'll be worth it. The fries are great too! Small restaurant size though, only 4 tables that seat 2 people each inside. However when the weather's nice they have a cute outdoor seating section out front.

Yelp
March 14/2023: This is a tiny little spot in the Queen St west village. Seating for a total of 9 ppl! The service was fast & the counter staff was very polite. I had the double cheeseburger combo with fries. The burger was SO delicious. Super hot & cheesy with some in-house made sauces on a fresh sesame seed bun! Bun made a huge difference in overall flavour. Totally delicious! A star was lost cause of the fries. There were lots of em but zero flavour even though I asked them to be extra well done...they weren't. I also mentioned that Onion Rings on the menu would be a good call. This is a do over from my end. To management...get better fries & add Onion Rings!

Yelp
Having been a long time fan of Matty (I use his bolognese recipe religiously - although I don't follow it to a T anymore), it was only right to try his burger joint. You don't see the sesame bun much anymore and it gives you this very nostalgic, made at home feel. I got the double cheese burger with the mattys pattys sauce. The meat was good and it was a typical smash burger. For some reason, I was left wanting more from the sauce??? I don't know what it was. Maybe I'm too used to the big mac sauce and it was close but not the same. Honestly a solid burger and the fries are shoe string fries, can't go wrong. Being right across trinity bellwoods park, I was able to enjoy it in some sun while catching up with friends. I just think at this price, you might be able to find something better in the city. But definitely a solid burger!

Judith M.

Yelp
Solid burgers with great combo deals. Not the best I've ever had but a good runner up. Got the double cheese burger bc I'm more of a smash type. Good gooey layers of cheese with every bite and wide pickles to provide a good level of acid. Love a Sesame seed bub packed with Sesame seeds like theirs. Matty's fries were bomb too. Only critique i have is that it was all a tad too oversalted. Overall, would eat here again but would pass on psp down the street.

Yelp
We were wandering around Queen West on an unusually beautiful April afternoon and I remembered that I hadn't yet tried Matty's Patty's Burger Club, so it wasn't a difficult choice to walk inside and order a burger to go. The guy serving me was incredibly nice and helpful, and he warned me that if I ordered a Matty's 7 oz Cheeseburger, the wait would be about 15 minutes. So I figured I'd just go with the Patty's Single Cheeseburger option, and I got that with Matty's Patty's Sauce. (I should note that the wait for the cheeseburger was almost 20 minutes, so I'm not sure why I was dissuaded from ordering the Matty's Cheeseburger.) Anyway, the burger was finally ready and it looked picture perfect. And indeed it tasted just as good. I loved this burger. Everything about it was excellent, from the perfectly smashed patty to the delectable sauce to the melted cheese. I inhaled that thing within just a couple of minutes. The fries were good, too. I'll definitely be returning to Matty's Patty's Burger Club and next time I'll get the Matty's Cheeseburger.

Yelp
Solid premium burger. Had an appointment with my vet next door so I pre-ordered a meal from Marty's to see what they hype was about. Not bad at all. Ordered the Matty Combo but added onions, cheese, pickles and also had the chilli fries Burger was solid. Love the fact that we can get this medium rare. I love onions but perhaps a little too much as it was an entire slice. The burger is mustard heavy so be aware of that. Good size. Would order again Chilli fires has a little bit of heat and are ok. Good amount of chilli, onions and cheddar cheese. Not amazing but not bad. It's ok. Will be back.

Yelp
It's super loud and not big, but full of character. My niece is a huge Matty fan, so we swung by his pop up last week where he was setting up and she was beside herself that she got to meet him. He was so nice! To surprise my niece I took her for burgers today. The 7oz burger takes about 15 minutes to cook. We didn't realize that we got there 20 mins before they were closing to prep for dinner. I wondered why we got an extra order of fries. Anyway, we had just started eating when they let us know and asked if we could eat quickly or take the food to go. So while we are scarfing down our food as fast as possible, they started blasting "Closing Time". Helpless with laughter it took us even longer to eat. We took the fries to go. The burgers were delicious and I appreciated that they adapted the special sauce so that I could eat it. It is a yummy mustard based sauce.
google avatar

Andee J.

Yelp
Spicy Mayo Jalapeño Sauce..I'm still dreaming about it. Not to mentioned the softest sesame bun I've ever had. Matty Matheson can really do it all. THE BEAR Season 2 was hands down my favorite show of the year and when I was visiting Toronto I had to check his burger shop out. Staff were all so friendly. I'll be back! Be prepared to wait, it's cooked to order.
google avatar

Mandy A.

Yelp
Heads up if you do not like mustard, the MP sauce tastes heavily of mustard. I ordered on Uber Eats and expected the sauce to be more like shake shack's or In-n-out but the sauce def has a really strong mustard taste. I do not like mustard, once I took a bite into the burger I was immediately overwhelmed with the flavour. The burger was good and I really wanted to like it but the sauce killed it for me. There should be more warning on your menu in store and your order page saying it tastes like mustard MP's "mustard" sauce just like it does on the top of the menu on your website. I'm sure I am not the only person with this complaint.

Yelp
Staff: 5/5 Very nice and courteous staff who deserve a raise for their hard work. I was genuinely impressed by the customer service at this place. Food: 2/5 Everything is overpriced at this place. It might be hip and trendy but $12 cheeseburgers and $22 combos - no thanks. The 7oz cheeseburger disappointed me in terms of the quality of the beef and the lack of choice when it comes to condiments. The default is mustard, pickles, and onions. I hate all three. I prefer mayo+ketchups, lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers on my cheeseburger. Alas, you can't get any of those things here except for mayo and ketchup. I also don't like cheddar cheese and that's the only available option. My wife's complaint was that her 7oz cheeseburger was way too salty. Mine wasn't to be fair. The bottom line for me is that I'm never coming back to Matty's Patty's Burger Club. The food is overpriced and with so many options on Queen West, you can spend the same $40 elsewhere and have a much better culinary experience.

Debbie T.

Yelp
The burgers, fries, and slushies were delicious! Great service, great atmosphere! We bought a couple of bottles of sauce to enjoy at home also.
google avatar

Nathan G.

Yelp
Pros: + received hot and fresh + high quality ingredients + cool restaurant and nice staff Cons: - kind of overpriced - wasn't crazy about the taste Cool little spot - surf-themed interior with friendly staff. I felt the burger was a little small for a $22 combo, but it was given to us hot and fresh. The taste of the sauce is pretty overwhelming - it's heavily based on mustard. To be honest, I liked it, but I felt they were a little liberal in applying it. Wasn't crazy about that as the taste was overpowering. The cheese and patty were delicious and the pickles and onions were fresh as well. The sesame bun was so unique and very fresh. I also grabbed the Jalapeño Mayo Sauce for the fries and it had a great kick and texture. I didn't find it too hot or spicy, but some may. Didn't leave a tingling sensation in your mouth which I liked. Not sure if I'll revisit, but if I did, I may try a different burger.

Yelp
Looking for a fresh burger? This is the place hands down. Simple and fresh and nothing complicated. I ordered the THE MATTY COMBO The Matty is cooked to medium (pink center). This combo comes with fries and your choice of soft drink or water. The Matty cheeseburger is one 7oz 100% AAA Beef patty, Mustard sauce, American cheese, sliced white onion, pickles on a sesame seed milk bun for $22.00 Service was great and store ambiance came off as beachy which I love!
google avatar

Poonam S.

Yelp
I picked up a single cheeseburger from Matty's Pattys and it was delicious. The sauce especially on it was a 5/5. I preordered on Ritual so did not have to wait. Space inside is small, but does have seating and the window opens up in the summer. I do feel the combo prices are a bit high but I'd definitely get the burger solo again.
google avatar

Bakari M.

Yelp
Tried Marty's Patty's while visiting Toronto and I'm glad I didn't miss out. The burger is so delicious and the cheese is melted perfectly against each patty. I generally don't eat pickles, but actually enjoyed them here since they were diced into little slices (this way, the pickle juice wasn't so overwhelming when I ate each bit). I will say that I thought it was a little price (I believe I double cheeseburger combo ended up being about $24 US). I'm surprised to see some of the ratings here for Matty's. I have no complaints quality-wise and can say that this was definitely one of the better burgers that I've had.
google avatar

Patricia W.

Yelp
Burger had a nice crunch to it and the bun was perfectly toasted. We also had the onion rings and a milkshake (seasonal - strawberry); both were delicious! Also, great customer service on this May 24! :D
google avatar

Jen A.

Yelp
The weird thing about this burger is that I don't even like mustard and onions, but somehow, Matty's Patty's turns these ingredients into magic. A great Impossible burger! Located right across from the south side of Trinity Bellwoods, this is a great place to get your picnic meals. I just wish they had more on the menu -- maybe a fried chicken burger, and definitely poutine! (Also, I might be the only one who's wondering this, but why aren't they "Matty's Patties"? Is it just because Matty's Patty's looks nicer? It reminds me of Ruth's Chris, haha.)
google avatar

Yelp
I just had to make a small update after a couple months. It seems as though there has been a little change. Dont quote me on this because Im not 100% sure but I remember when it first opened you only had the option to buy as a combo but now they have even more variety with a single patty, Matty burger and being able to buy the sandwich alone. Last time I got the double cheeseburger so this time I wanted to try something different. The Matty burger isn't a smash burger. Its more so a thicker, juicier burger thats cooked to medium rare. It takes ~15 min to get to that perfect temperature so be prepared to wait. The burger is the draped with a layer of cheese, onions, pickles and a mustard sauce. I just wanted to update my review to 4/5 because I feel like last time I was being bias because it was Matty Matheson and didn't judge the burger for what it was. Dont get me wrong its a good burger but for me it's not mind blowing that it deserves 5 stars. Nevertheless they make great burgers and I don't want to take away from what they've created. Will come back again one day
google avatar

Tom T.

Yelp
I've been here several times in the year that Marty's Patty's has been open, so my review is based on an average of all experiences. I've read all the review and for me, it comes down to one simple fact. They've made a great burger here, on each and every visit. They're consistent and efficient when ordering from the app or walking up to the order window like I did today. Although it's a bit prickly, $8 for the single cheeseburger you see in my photograph, you will be satisfied! They also make great milkshakes and, if you want, you can choose from a couple great beer selections. On this day, I had a Matron Beer from Prince Edward County.
google avatar

Misha I.

Yelp
I'm surprised by all of the low ratings of this place. I've been wanting to try it for a while, so when I saw it on BOGO on Uber Eats I leaped at the chance. These are classic American style burgers, with high quality smashed beef as the patty, cooked on high heat for a crisp finish. There were pickles diced into small pieces and mixed with the cheese sauce. No tomato or lettuce, but who needs veggies anyways! The fries were sliced super thinly and liberally salted, similar to McDonald's. Can't go wrong! I loved these burgers and loved that they didn't taste overly greasy (like a Rudy's or Burgers and Fries Forever). If my description sounds like your kind of burger, order it! You won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Gautham P.

Yelp
This place does an amazing burger. Everything to perfection. The sesame seed buns are a highlight and quite unique from any other I've had before. The patties are pressed and well cooked. Bonus points for the crispy fries
google avatar

Britt H.

Yelp
JUICY MATTY. Service amazing, FOH gentlemen staff accommodated my wheelchair as a table was open. Fries were perfectly salted and crunchy. Burgers were dressed appropriately and smashed accordingly. Food was ordered and served promptly, while also pumping out take out and food delivery services. Enjoyed the small tables area, included a waiting area for take out as well. Extremely pleasant experience
google avatar

Jon Z.

Yelp
Flawless smash burger. Soft bun that holds. Perfect patty. Balanced. Fries are what you hope you get from your favorite fast food place. How the reviews aren't better is baffling.

Yelp
Having watched some of Matty's videos on YouTube over the past couple of years, I was really excited to get to try his burger shop having understood that he used to sell them in various Toronto establishments back in the day. Service was just great and I was really happy that they made the exception to get my order in. The shop closes midday for an hour or so but the woman at the counter nonetheless got my order in (even though they had technically closed a minute prior). Matty has clearly mastered the burger game because this one is just right. The unique MP sauce is oh so unique and delicious, the meat to bun ratio is on point (obviously, I had to get the double patty because, well, I just had to), the generous portion of cheese is just right and the meat is juicy and cooked just as you want it. There is a simplicity, back to the basics feel to the burger but at the same time everything feels elevated. On that note, the same can be said about the fries which very much reminded me of the fries we all love at McDs, but these were a little crispier. Location is also perfect as it's right across the street from Trinity Bellwood's so you'll be eating your burger in no time. This one definitely should find its way on Toronto's "best of" burgers and everyone should give it a try.

Yelp
Chapter 1, The One Not About The Restaurant Fun fact! My best friend is Matty Matheson! No, not this cool chef who keeps me coming back for more snacks, but rather Matthew R Matheson. Originally from Halifax, NS, currently of Calgary, AB. This has nothing to do with this sweeeeet burger club, but yeah. Can't not mention it! Chapter 2, The One About The Burger Damn Matty! I wish you were my best friend. That cheeseburger was yum town. I've never had such a delicious sesame bun and I loved those saucy little onions. Not quite sure what was happening, but it was goooood. I wasn't a huge fan of the fries, but it's not pretending to be a fry club so whatever. I am so excited to order burgers again and this time I will buy some for my family, too. Sometimes a girl just has to have a white claw and some CBD, watch Brooklyn 99 and order a burger for one. Chapter 3, The One About The Global Pandemic That Is Crushing Small Business My husband says I'm cranky tonight (dick move by him), so I'm going to take that fire and add one final thing. This is a business that opened in a pandemic. It's nice that they are hitting customers hard for tips for their staff. They're new, they're not yet a well oiled machine so cut them some slack. Please be kind. The food and bev industry has been rocked and we're all lucky to be getting burgers from anywhere but McDonald's at this point.

Yelp
It's ok. This place has blown up on social media so I decided to try it. Turns out, it really was just hipsters giving excessive praise. The burger patty was very well-cooked and medium rare. I like that they don't let you change that. Any burger that's served more cooked than medium rare is as good as spoiled. But there was something in it that was very salty and in patches. Maybe the line cook who flipped the burgers got too excited. The bun was pretty average, the American cheese was meh. The rest of it was pretty mediocre. The fries tasted like McDonald's fries, but too salty. And you get a drink. I took off an extra star for the price. You can definitely find better burgers and fries in Toronto for $20.

Yelp
The burger is quite overhyped. It is right in front of trinity bellwoods and is always quite busy. I ordered ahead online but still had to wait about 10 minutes after arriving at the pickup time. I don't mind the wait but the burger wasn't worth it. Burger Drops is not far and much better.

Yelp
Like most of the reviews here, I had a similar experience. Of course, I wanted to check out this spot after being a big fan of Mattys work. Ordered online a couple days before, arrived, waited in line for about 10 minutes, and got our burgers. I ordered the first option, Double Patty burger w/ fries and pop. Essentially my opinion of the burger was, the burger tasted like a big mac and the fries tasted like burger king fries, so nothing amazing. Fries were cold to begin with, the burger was decently warm. For $22, I'd say it definitely was not worth it. In terms of taste, I can't really pinpoint anything special, it was just...a burger. It's one of those places where you'd just want to try once. As a pretty famous Canadian chef/personality, it's sad to see that Matty has opened a couple of restaurants in the city that have closed down. With this restaurant, I honestly don't if it's going to last long. It kind of feels like a quick pop-up shop for 6 months, make some quick money and get out kinda spot. With his talent, personality, and love for food, I'm sure he could open up something better than a burger shop. Hoping he can add more to the menu, but I mean, it is called "Mattys Pattys". If you're a fan of matty then I say get it but if not, don't bother, nothing special.

Yelp
Awesome burgers. A little salty, but overall delicious. Is it worth $20? Maybe. The experience is worth it if you're a fan of Matty Matheson because there's a good chance he'll be there handing out the orders. It's tricky to get a spot since they usually sell out but there's a walk-up option for the signature combo which is a double burger with the Matty's patty's sauce, fries, and your choice of Perrier or a coke. Not sure why those are the only 2 options. The fries are really tasty but if you're not staying nearby to eat, there's a good chance they'll be cold once you're home, so pop em in the oven. The burger was tasty and photogenic, but I was in need of water once I was done eating. They're pretty good about reposting content and are super active on IG, so check their page for any info.

Yelp
Burgers are the name of the game at this new takeout joint from Matty Matheson. Located on the perimeter of Trinity Bellwoods, Matty's Patty's Burger Club is making a name for itself when it comes to the newest burger trend - smash burgers. These aren't your ordinary smash burgers, though. They're stacked double patties complete with a fluffy milk bun, plenty of gooey American cheese, and house-made Matty's Patty's sauce. For $20, the burger comes with golden fries and a choice of Perrier or Coke. And, good news for vegetarians - combos are available with an Impossible™ Burger. If you're thinking of picking up a combo tomorrow, hold your horses. There's an online reservation system to pre-order, so you might have to wait to smash your smash burger.

Yelp
Literally the best burger I've ever had in my life. The smash patty with Matty's patty's sauce is to die for. And the service was incredible. If we lived closer, this would have to be a daily stop.

Yelp
The burger is godly ! Meat was so tender... all the ingredients taste great and blend perfectly. It's a burger made with love I wish it was bigger but other than that I absolutely enjoyed and will come back for more.

Yelp
Excellent BURGERS!!!! Attention Toronto- please get your hands on these babies. So worth the hype. Make sure you pre order them follow the instructions on their website. If you're a foodie this place is for you! $20 for a burger is a little steep but we'll worth it! Sauce , meat , cheese and bun just all melt in your mouth. They also do walk up orders but make sure to call or check online to see if they are available incase they sell out. It comes with fries and choice of water or coke. Yum!

Yelp
One of the worst things I've ever had the displeasure of eating in my life! The Impossible with cheese!Since I am a vegetarian,I chose the Imposssible Burger.I love The Imposssible when I buy it in the store but this was not it!If it was,it sure tasted nothing like it but more like something my dog does in the garden and that doesn't smell good but I imagine it tastes just the same!No tomatoes,no lettuce,no onion and really there didn't appear to be any cheese!Just a flattened burger with unflavourable supposedly chipolte mayonaise sauce! At $12 + taxe,it was certainly not 1/4 as good as The Unmeatable burger from A&W.Avoid!
