Great hotel. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of the beach (2 min walk) and lots of places to eat, rent beach gear, and the food truck land. The pools are really clean, free laundry on every floor, and the bottle refill station was a perk I didn't know I needed. I wish the food at the pool restaurant was better, but there are lots of places to eat in the area.

Google
We loved our stay here. The rooms are big with a large bathroom as well. The pool area has 2 pools with hot tubs as well. Restaurant on site is good with happy hour specials in the afternoon. Beds are comfortable and the rooms also have a decent size fridge. There is a great beach area just across the street for swimming and a beautiful sunset. Also a park and other restaurants within walking distance, and a food truck just around the corner. We had cleaning service everyday, unlike many other hotels that are only offering this every few days. The gym was also pretty large and had new equipment. I would come back to this hotel if I am lucky enough to make it back to Maui.

Google
We stayed in the Kai Tower, and it was a fantastic experience. The room was spacious, and bed was very comfortable. The pool and pool bar were our favorite amenities. Beach access was only minutes away which made it very easy for a beach day or watching a beautiful Maui sunset. Staff was very friendly, and room was cleaned thoroughly every day. 10/10 Highly recommended and we will see you again in November!

I have been staying at this hotel since 2015. The grounds, rooms, amenities and Jim are always so well maintained. Even though some of the gym machines is dated, it runs better than the majority of equipment at my local gym. I've never had anything but top tier customers service. The shuttle service really opens up what you can get into. Great food just a short walk away. I've seen more sunsets across the street than I can count at this point, beach access is a short walk away.

First time to Maui and we really enjoyed our stay here. It's a nice central location to get around. Service is top notch and friendly and the pool area is super nice. We were in the newer building and it was one of the nicest hotel rooms we've ever been in.

We LOVED our stay at the Maui coast hotel. This is truly a hidden gem in Maui. My husband and I chose this hotel for our honeymoon and it truly exceeded our expectations. We chose to stay in their newer tower (Kai Tower). The rooms were spacious, bright and clean. We felt comfortable enough to hang out at the pool a lot of our time but we also took advantage of riding bikes to the downtown Kihei area and checking out their food trucks. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The gym is really nice for a hotel gym. The pricing compared to the other hotels in Maui is very reasonable. If you are looking for a more low-key hotel that is family friendly, has a great location, and fun amenities- stay here! We cannot wait to come back!

Google
The hotel has excellent rooms along with the staff that are a wealth of information. In addition, they offer beach chairs and umbrellas. With an inviting pool and jacuzzi for relaxing days. Walking distance to peaceful beach. The hotel offers a shuttle; however, I do recommend renting a small car. Live music every night, near the pool.

Google
We loved our stay at Maui Coast Hotel! We stayed in the new Kai tower, and the room was beautiful. Not only was it impeccably clean, but we loved how it was set up and loved the bathroom! We stayed in an ocean view room, and that was somewhat lackluster, but I hadn't realized the hotel was on the other side of the street (not beach-side), so while we could see the ocean from our room, it was at a distance. Otherwise, our stay was incredible! The staff were all so kind, courteous, and professional. They even dropped off a complimentary bottle of prosecco with 2 glasses for our anniversary. We would absolutely stay here again! I highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
My friends and I chose to spend our annual "Friendscation" trip in Maui so that we could support Maui businesses as much as we could. We decided to stay in Kihei on the south coast of Maui. I had stayed at the Maui Coast Hotel before and remembered it was a great location and they were adding a brand new Kai Tower that would be completed a few months before our stay. We took advantage of their great kama'aina (Hawaii resident) rate. The double queen room sleeps four and was a very spacious 388 sqft with a walk-in shower and lanai. We just loved the layout of the room especially the well-thought-out placement of seating along the wall with drawer storage underneath. The clever layout allowed us to spread out and still have ample space when the other families came over. There was a total of 15 of us comfortably talking story and playing cards in the room before bedtime. The room has a microwave, coffee maker, and mini refrigerator. Bath amenities are in the shower wall and include shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I loved that the bath towels were so plush. A big plus for families is the complimentary self-service washer and dryer located on each floor next to ice machine! There are plenty of lounge chairs under umbrellas by the pool and lap pool. The on-property Kihei Caffe provides the reasonably priced food for the Hanohano Pool bar. There is a happy hour (3pm to 6pm) and live music from 6pm to 9pm. The daily $35 resort fee includes self-parking, cruiser bikes, 24 hour fitness center, and shuttle service available daily from 7am to 10pm for transportation within the Kihei and Wailea areas. Coming soon to the resort are pickleball courts and the 2025 opening of a sundry shop and Miso Phat Sushi restaurant. We all agreed we had an amazing stay at the Maui Coast Hotel. One friend thought the new Kai Tower was nicer than many five star hotels he has stayed in. From check-in to pool service and housekeeping, the staff and service was excellent. The location is also hard to beat with so many great restaurants within walking distance and Kamaole Beach I just across the street. I would highly recommend the Maui Coast Hotel for your stay in Kihei!

Yelp
still COASTing Nine years after my original stay at Maui Coast, I am again a guest at this Kihei property. I stayed at this property for 2 nights in early December 2024 and wanted to share some updates. 1. A new tower adjacent to the original building, as well as an additional parking lot has been added to the resort. 2. Along with the new tower, a new pool and hot tub has also been added to the property. 3. The lobby (as of this writing, 12/11/24) is under construction. Staff are utilizing desks as a temporary check-in section. The concierge has also been relocated near the hallway to the 1st floor guest rooms. Unsure of the completion date. 4. I used the pool(s) and hot tub on this visit. The pool attendants will provide towels and chair covers (towel fabric) for guests. There is a bar at the pool area that has happy hour from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Just fyi, there are no servers walking around the pool area; please go to the bar to order your drinks and/or food. There's live music at the pool area/bar area in the evenings. 5. There is a restaurant, Kihei Caffe (see my separate review), located on the 1st floor of the building closest to the main driveway of the resort. It's a convenient breakfast option. BOTTOM LINE A comfortable stay at the Maui Coast Hotel. Recommend.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Love the location if you want something by the beach. The only issue is the happy hour at their restaurant. ONLY certain drinks are happy hour prices. Food is expensive and not happy hour friendly prices.

Yelp
Great place to have a little staycation. We only stayed for a night but stayed at the pool after check out. They are able to hold your luggage which worked out perfect. There are cabanas at the pool that are first come first serve which is AWESOME! And there are quite a few and most people actually didn't gravitate towards those. Most folks there were there for the tanning and the sun. There is a lap pool now which was heavenly. Can get a little workout in until kids take over haha! But nice to see everyone having a good time In this hot weather. Canela (hopefully I spelled her name right) at the pool was just wonderful!!! Such personable and great customer service from her. She greeted us and set us up with the towels AND the lounge chair towels too! And later on in the afternoon (when it was even hotter!!!) she came around with complimentary mochi ice cream for everyone. What a treat! We had breakfast at Kihei caffe which is on the property but in a different building (and the fitness center is above that). We got there around 745 (I believe they open at 7 am) and there were about 3 parties in front of us. Line moved fast and after ordering we went to find a table which was easy to do. Breakfast also came pretty quick. This Kihei caffe location didn't have as much as the original location but the wait here is much much shorter! When we left l, it was around 830 and the line was longgggg. Glad we came to eat earlier. Earlier is always better! All in all, would def recommend this hotel for local people and visitors. There is a new building/tower of rooms which we didn't get to check out but heard it was pretty nice! Our room was in the older side but was a fine place to stay. Service was good and parking was free (can't get any better than that!). There is also bikes to rent out AND a shuttle to take you 3 miles in either direction!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in Kihei! Kihei is a great location to be in if you want to explore all Maui (West side, Hana Highway, Kahului, and Haleakalā National Park). This hotel is a mile away from amazing restaurants and food trucks. Room: Very clean. Each room has a balcony with a table and 2 chairs for you to enjoy the breeze in the morning or evening. Staff: Very friendly. We passed by some cleaning crew in the hallway and they always gave us a big smile and said hi. Front desk is also very helpful if you need any recommendations. Pool: Nice and big. They also have 2 hot tubs. One of them is kinda like room temp but the other one is hotter. Check before you get in. They also have beach towels, complimentary sun screen and cooling lotions at the pool entrance, so don't pack your beach towels for your trip. Borrow the towels here in the morning and return when you get back. Shuttle bus: Complimentary service within 3 miles. We didn't use this service because we rented a car to go to other places, but this is good to know. Bike rental: Complimentary! They're all cruiser bikes. You just need to pick a bike, remember the bike number, sign a waiver at the front desk and they will give you the key. We took a bike to and rode 2 miles each way to get shave ice and had a super nice ride along the beach. Hospitality room: If your return flight is late and you still have a whole day on the island but have to check out at their check-out time, don't worry at all. You can still go to the beach and get in the water. The hotel has a hospitality room for you to shower before you head to the airport. They have 6 toilets, 2 big shower rooms, towels, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, hand balm, body location, Q-tips, and makeup removers. No shower caps and no hair dryer. There's no extra charge to access this room because this room is covered in the resort fees that you already pay. Pricing: reasonable for it being a fancy looking hotel. There are many other Airbnb or apartments for rent nearby and they charge about the same. We're so happy that we chose Maui Coast Hotel. I highly recommend this hotel for your trip!

Yelp
We decided to stay an extra 2 days on Maui, and found the Maui Cost Hotel in Kihei. We were lucky enough to book an ocean view room in their new tower. It's across the street from the beach & we enjoyed gorgeous views day and night. The rooms were beautifully appointed, including a mini fridge, safe, microwave, and a Keurig coffee maker. They provide 2 free bottles of water daily if needed, free bike rental, a gym, regular pool and a lap pool, among other ammenities. Pooside bar and restaurant, as well as another coffee shop on site. Walkable to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Because we only had 2 days in Kihei we didn't use as much of the resort ammenities as we might have otherwise. Live band poolside on Friday and Saturday nights. While it's not a resort, with the ammenities it had we would stay there again! Staff was wonderful and treated you like you were at a resort. We would stay there again!

Yelp
My most recent stay in Maui This is one of the locations I choose when staying in Kihei. Walking distance to restaurants and the beach. The rooms are clean and some are spacious. The staff is very kind.

Yelp
Nice small hotel. Well kept and best part is the pool bar area. Bartender and locals make this a true dive local. If I was a local I would definitely hang out here with reasonably priced drinks and decent food options. Great atmosphere, tasty food and laid back vibe.

Yelp
We had a last minute opportunity to vacation in Hawaii I was very happy to be able to book this hotel one week before our trip It is a great price and a beautiful property! Has a great 2 pool with hot tubs with a live Band every night. Has bikes to take out and ride to the local food trucks down the street and the beach park. Shuttle available for 3 mile distance. Love the room. It's very nice, clean, and temp controlled.

Yelp
Originally, we were supposed to stay in Lahaina, but our hotel burned down in the fire. We grappled with what to do, and decided to keep our trip to Maui but shift our stay to South Maui instead. In a bit of a scramble, I found the Maui Coast Hotel, and it seemed to fit all our needs at a reasonable price point. I'm happy to say that our stay was wonderful. The room was clean, large, and very comfortable. The resort fees include the replenishment of bottled waters in your room fridge daily, and I appreciated that (the hotel we stayed at in Kauai only provided waters upon check-in). It's just one less thing to have to think about. The staff were great and always helpful if we had questions. The location was perfect for us. It was close to a lot of things, and we would easily walk to the beach as well. Something to keep in mind, there is an independently run gift shop in the lobby, and you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas there for $5 each per day. It's not well advertised, but I had emailed the hotel prior to our visit to ask about renting beach chairs and they shared this info with me. My only complaint-ish is that a lot of the parking spots in the parking lot were pretty narrow. This might be a common problem as our hotel in Kauai was honestly even worse, but just keep this in mind if you rent a larger car. Ours was a midsize and not particularly big, but I still found some of the spots to be comically small and impossible to get into (especially if larger cars parked on either side). Aside from that, no complaints! I would definitely stay at Maui Coast Hotel on future trips to Maui! It hit all of the marks (cleanliness, comfort, service, location) and was within our budget.

Yelp
Location is in Kihei which is a town that's not very touristy and has a great mellow vibe. It's across the street from Direct beach access and nothing beats the morning dip In the calm waters or the sunset walk. Only cons were that plumbing system is old and we had multiple issues during our stay, but the handyman showed up very quickly to remedy the situation but we wished we didn't have to experience same issues several times. The rooms are standard hotels rooms no more no less. The construction can be heard from the pool/restaurant but not from the rooms.
google avatar

Amy H.

Yelp
It's a decent hotel, if you get a suite room you'll have plenty of space but the smaller rooms are tiny! Like you can barely get in the bathroom tiny!(and I'm little) rooms have microwaves and mini fridges which is nice but most rooms don't have much of a view unless you are in the front.(low numbers) the pool area is nice with a bar and live music at night. It's not on the beach but a short walk across the Street. Close to some food trucks and restaurants. They also have bike for free rental(3hrs max for free then $10)so you can ride to the bigger shopping areas.

Yelp
I found this place on Expedia and I must say I was very happy. This is a great spot to stay if you plan on spending your vacation exploring or at the beach. They have a small pool and and a spa. The restaurant on property is decent for breakfast. The bar makes cheap drinks. They have tennis courts. The best part is that the rooms are very clean and affordable. This hotel is close to a lot of great restaurants and a beautiful beach.

Yelp
I loved Maui Coast Hotel! We stayed in the new tower and it was very nice. Service was outstanding. Parking is free and the location is great. It is walking distance to the beach. I really don't want to share this gem but felt I had to. Aloha!

Yelp
Comfy and so close to the beach. Room was spacious and had a great view of the area. Can order food and drinks while you relax at the pool.

Yelp
Overall, we were pleased with our stay, but there were some lows. Our room was clean and very comfortable, but there was one day during our 4-night stay that our room was skipped over for cleaning. There is also a massive construction project on the property, so dozens of loud trucks roll onto the property at 6am and there is typical noise throughout the afternoon. The pool is unheated, and during our February stay, it was very cold and we lasted about 30 seconds in it. Never saw another person in it during our stay, guests instead opting for the hot tub. The pool bar has great happy hour pricing and all food from the restaurant was delicious and served in record time. The well-maintained fitness center is quite large and full of numerous machines and free weights that rival that of a small gym. Staff was very friendly. Voicing my concerns upon checkout, the front desk did make an effort to compensate us, so that was appreciated. Overall, it's a great place to grab a quick breakfast before you head out for the day, and then a cocktail and good night's rest when you return, but that's about it.

Yelp
This is an amazing hotel!! It's super clean, the service is amazing! I love how secure it is while staying! The pool was super clean and my kids loved it! Live music at the bar at night. I mean the list goes on! I will be back! I enjoyed my stay! You must go!! Oh! And we got cool necklaces to keep as a souvenir

Danine H.

Yelp
We had a great time! This hotel is beautiful with an ocean view from your balcony. The hotel is neat and clean. Hotel is only one block walking distance from the beach. The front desk staff friendly and helpful. The poolside food is outstanding! Jaime and Dave best shuttle service at the hotel.

Yelp
Everything from check in to check out was great. Kai Tower is the one to choose; just opened Summer 2024.

Yelp
Hotel has all the basics and essentials. Rent bikes for 3 hours. Nice pool. I'm mainly going to rate the new pool bar, now operated by kihei caffe. Great happy hour. Tasty coconut shrimp. Love my pineapple vodka. Ordered chicken quesadilla. Tuna melt sandwich. Chicken sandwich. BBQ pork buns.

Yelp
The Maui Coast Hotel is located on Kihei road directly across from Charles Young beach. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and attentive and overall it is a great spot. We stayed here one night after immediately arriving in Maui. This was a short stay due to our Airbnb property not being available until the next day. We stayed in a room with two double beds, and the beds were comfortable, the room temp was good, and the cleanliness was A+. We were short one towel and requested an extra and we were delivered 3. That was unexpected but quite welcomed. While I didn't get to eat or enjoy a cocktail at the Maui Coast hotel, I can say their gift shop is 5 star on pricing of items. It's refreshing to not have to pay 6$ for a water. The Maui coast is directly next door to where we are currently staying, so perhaps I can sneak over for a Mai Tai or six. I would recommend Maui coast hotel to anyone looking for a good place to stay and a great location with close proximity to everything you would need on a vacation.

Yelp
My family and I had our flight cancelled and after a very stressful day we found Maui Coast Hotel which was one of the first hotels we looked at. When we arrived the entire staff were extremely understanding of our situation and went above and beyond to help us. The manager over heard our unfortunate circumstances and upgraded us for no additional costs. This hotel and the hardworking staff made for an amazing and restful stay. The pool and amenities were beautiful. After our day we all agreed that we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
Modest room that is comfortable, great location, friendly staff and the Kihei Cafe associated offers a lovely menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner- poolside! Would definitely stay again.
google avatar

Yelp
Nothing fancy but pretty comfortable stay at Maui Coast Hotel. The beds are soft and the bathroom is somewhat updated. The room comes with a fridge and wet bar. They have an outdoor bar and pool. They also provide bicycles rental for free of charge up to three hours. The walk to the main area is only 15-20min and it is a nice walk though. But for lazy peeps like me out there, bike rental is a life-saver.

Tremaine R.

Yelp
We've stayed here so many times.. We live on Oahu and this is home away from home when we're on Maui!! It's comfy and in a great location on island, where the surrounding area has lots of places and shops to check out.. Thank Maui Coast for your hospitality and the great rooms..

Doug W.

Yelp
My stay at your hotel from 9/5/24 to 9/11/24 was more than good it was beyond exceptional!!! The staff was very helpful and friendly and the maid service was very good. There were no negative aspects of my stay. I really enjoyed the pool area and bar and the proximity of the hotel to the beach and shopping. Without a doubt I'll stay here again when I return to Maui

Florencia T.

Yelp
Had a great time. Staff really great. We had such a great time, too bad we have to leave. We will definitely comeback.

Yelp
Everything was perfect for our sister trip in February! The staff were amazing, the location very central and the hotel was perfect! Can't wait to go back again soon!

Yelp
Perfect location and great hotel for families. Love the pool and bar. Live music is a bonus.

Yelp
First time here and am quite pleased. Quick check in and into a very clean room. Staff is very nice and helpful with any questions on the area. Don't miss the pool and the pool bar. Great place to listen to some live music and also some grub. Definitely on my list when I return.

Yelp
Pros: nice rooms, nice ambiance on the grounds! (Torches, nice landscaping, live music poolside, etc). Next door construction wasn't a problem for us, as we were not at the hotel during the day. The construction is expected to be completed by summer 2024, and its an expansion of the Maui Coast Hotel resort. The beach is just across the street and many restaurants within walking distance. We would stay again! Cons: sometimes the towel guys was not at the booth to hand out pool towels. Often times their infused water dispenser in the lobby was gone and did not see drinking fountains anywhere. The pool w open until after 11 am one day because they were power washing the pool area, even though pool is expected to be open 7 am to 10 pm.

Kristian M.

Yelp
The lobby is beautiful and is located in a central location in Kihei. The staff are very accommodating and go the extra mile to make sure guests needs are met. We were able to store our luggage prior to checking in as we had a sailing excursion booked and did not want to leave our luggage in our rental. The only issue is the bathroom in our room was tiny. The door just barely cleared the toilet and could have used a remodel. Overall a very nice hotel in a great area with great staff

Nahua G.

Yelp
Nice hotel but nothing special. Charged a resort fee of $35 per day for use of the pool. They should just add $35 to the room fee.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Great poolside happy hour and delicious food. We will definitely go back and visit again soon.

Matt B.

Yelp
Had a nice stay, courteous staff, clean room. Manny the manager was especially helpful, personable and professional. Top shelf manager who made a big difference. Thankyou.

Rita B.

Yelp
I am reviewing the poolside bar /restaurant only. Have never stayed at the hotel. We are locals who used to enjoy the poolside bar and restaurant. In the past six months the prices have become too expensive and the quality of the food and the service needs to be improved. A shame, because it is such a lovely setting.
google avatar

Robin L.

Yelp
Despite the ongoing construction nearby, this is a very clean and welcoming hotel. Safe. I loved each moment I was here. I am also usually a low budget person and this was a splurge for me.. worth it. Wonderful service, great music poolside. Will def come again.

Thomas B.

Yelp
AVOID THIS HOTEL! We were supposed to be on a relaxing Maui vacation and the construction at this hotel starts between 6am and 7am. There has to be a county ordinance regarding construction times but it's not being enforced. I wished we would have stayed somewhere else.

Yelp
Hidden gem! Centrally located, price range is good, walking distance to everything! Most of all the staff was great, it is very clean, the pool, the gym, everything was excellent. We will be back. This will be our place when we return to Maui
google avatar

Yelp
We had an excellent stay here recently, they cleaned our rooms daily, a big plus, which a lot of other hotels elsewhere, are not doing anymore - only coming to clean after an X amount of days if at all. Parking was plentiful, we stayed in a king with a pull out couch, the pool was good and warm in the summer, music in the evening by the pool was a nice added touch, they have complimentary bikes you can use, and staff was friendly. Parking was free! Not like oahu where you have to pay an arm and a leg for parking. Room had a small fridge and sink, microwave, and they gave us 2 waters daily. It's in a nice part of Kihei, right by a texaco for gas, ABC store for any of your needs, less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and water. Not to far off are some bars/restaurants, which are all walkable. Location and cleanliness +++

Yelp
Where to begin? Well, unfortunately for me, money is an issue. I understand for some jet setting families money really is no issue and dropping 500 or more per night at a luxurious Maui resort is no big deal. Good for them, I'm happy for them. However, I couldn't swing that and needed to find something a tad more reasonable. That's all relative though, isn't it? In any case, as I was doing my research before booking the Maui Coast Hotel I was looking for several factors. Obviously nice, clean, good reviews, proximity to the beach and obviously price. As most vacationers know, for a resort directly on the beach, you're now spending closer to 500 per night. So just getting close to the beach was good enough for me, and these guys did the trick. Literally across the street! The hotel provides all the free beach towels you need, walk out front, cross the street and to the left one small block and there's a really nice public beach with life guards. And I'm tellin' ya, it's a really nice beach, filled with friendly sea turtles swimming nonstop (see photos for evidence). Across the street from said beach is a rental joint that you can rent umbrellas for shade, beach chairs, boogie boards, paddle boards and the whole nine! All at a very reasonable rate. But I digress, back to the hotel. Really nice! Great service! Included with your resort fee are free bikes to check out, an amazing gym, a free shuttle to take you anywhere within say a five mile radius, and with a quick phone call they'll pick you up too. On a side note, this was at the tail end of a longer vacation where I was dealing with traffic in Honolulu for too long, and Vegas traffic to boot. So the last thing I wanted to do was rent another car. I wanted stress free non-driving time. So, that was one of the selling points for me here. Within walking distance is a slew of shops and eateries. However, if indeed you're feelin' a little whooped from too much sun at the beach that day, the shuttle driver has your back! Tip accordingly! The pool is very nice, along with a nice pool bar and restaurant (if you've had your fill of sand), and they're open until the wee hours! There is a concierge on property where you can book luaus, or whatever more exciting adventures await you, along with a rental car joint if you change your mind about not wanting to drive anywhere. All this for 300 per night! Mind you, that's still a pretty big pill to swallow for a lot of us, but I thought it was quite the value all things considered. I think anyone reading would be equally satisfied here. Cheers!

Diana J.

Yelp
I really was unsure about staying here because everyone tends to stay at all inclusive hotels but this place was about half the price. The location is in a town where you get more of a local feel, less touristy. 10 min walk to ABC store, groceries, ice cream, beach rentals. The beach is a 7 min walk, which is great for kids. The hotel doesnt offer beach supplies from what i could tell. The pool isn't huge but large enough with about 20 loungers or so, has 2 hot tubs and a 1 foot wading pool for the Littles. The pool is only 5ft deep and has a pool side bar that serves drinks as well as food from the kihei Cafe, next door, for lunch/dinner. The kihei Cafe is really for breakfast and some poolside bites. Not really a go to if you want a good lunch. Their pork buns, clams, and fries were best. I would skip the calamari strips and teriyaki karrage, the grease from the fryer stuck with me. Rooms are clean and motel like. Has bad coffee, free bottles of water, fridge, wet bar and desk. Tubs are clean but sort of shallow. Not ideal for a bath but good to bathe your kids in. Free laundry machine and dryer but you obviously have to pay for the detergent and such. No idea how long the cycles are from looking at the machine but regular wash is about an hour and quick wash was about 30 mins. Staff is all very nice. Overall I really like the place and would stay again. I read many reviews that said the resort hotels were mostly dated and there were complaints about the trek to the beach from the rooms. With that in mind this place is a great value. The town isn't upsale and there is some homelessness on the main drag but they seem harmless. There are many condos around and as I said it has more of a local vibe. Lahaina is very touristy but still has the local vibe. Wailea is more high end golf lover types, kaanapali is more family/ all inclusive resorts with nothing really on the main drag but for an outdoor mall.

Yelp
Rooms are very nice beds are comfy. Staff can be assholes. They charge a $25/day 'resort fee' that gives you wifi and bike rentals. They refused to let us rent the bikes after 5pm. They are also on covid paranoia here and require masks everywhere. We were walking the halls with no mask and woke up to find one of their employees slipped a "mask required" sign under our door. Apparently nobody's told them that these paper masks do not work and their "pandemic" ended a year ago.

Yelp
We ended up extending our 1st trip to Maui and this hotel happened to be next door to the Condo we were initially staying at. We booked 4 nights in the King Junior suite for our family of 4 (we have 2 young kids) not expecting much but boy! We were in for a treat. On our check in day, I called to see if we can check in early, the front desk said we can come in between 11am-12noon to check in which was perfect because we checked out of the Condo at 10am.... To top it off, they didn't charge us extra. The room was clean and big enough for the 4 of us. My daughter slept on the pull out couch (queen size), looks like it was made of memory foam mattress, a little on the firm side but she did not complain. We asked for sheets for the pull out and it came within a couple of minutes (the fastest i've ever come across). Since Covid, staying at a hotel, usually DAILY housekeeping is not offered (even at upscale resorts like Disney Aulani)... we were surprised to come home on our 2nd night with the room cleaned and bed made! I really was not expecting that but it felt really good to come home to a clean place. The pool was a decent size, the water was warm even at night. They also have 2 hot tubs and a 1ft dipping pool for kids. plenty of pool chairs to relax in. They had nightly entertainment as well (live singers) and the pool bar seem to be inexpensive. Overall, its a clean, straight forward hotel with fast service in a great location (the beach was right across). I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
The rooms were disappointing! And the inside of the hotel just felt really dark and gloomy every time we had to walk through it. Very average hotel with decent landscaping. Not sure what the other rooms look like, but our room was definitely an older model. On the bright side, it was fairly clean and provided us with everything we needed, minus the pizzazz. They had a tennis court, good sized pool, free bike rentals for a limited time, & a nice gym. They only allowed roughly 5 people in the gym at a time due to covid so you have to sign up at the front desk if u want to use the gym. Masking is required throughout the hotel. We didn't try their restaurant, but it looked nice. We didn't like our hotel room or the inside of the hotel so didn't spend much time at the hotel, so we'll not be coming back here!

Yelp
This used to be our favourite hotel in Maui. We stayed there 6 times before 2019. They got rid of there pool side restaurant, there is no room service and it's double the price. It would be better to book a Condo because the hotel perks are gone. There are also sketchy locals getting drunk at the pool every night. They hate the tourists and make it known by speaking loudly to their friends. They also enjoy doing cannonballs in to the pool to soak and intimidate the guests. The music has really changed too. People used to dance and now it's super sleepy and depressing.

Yelp
WOW this hotel is hidden off the main street and I love that about it. Quaint and clean hotel with a great oasis pool (with bar and restaurant) and good non-hotel dining a few steps away. It's in a perfect location, too. Great way to be near everything but far enough to enjoy your slumber.

Yelp
If I could give negative stars I would. Unfortunate too as we stayed here before on our honeymoon and it was good. I prepaid a reservation on Priceline in full three months prior to our three night stay. When we went to check in we were told that the hotel cancelled third party reservations and that we were basically out of luck. They didn't bother telling me they cancelled the reservation and no refund was issued prior. I had to spend hours on the phone to get over $1K back, and still had no room. Terri at the front desk was no help, just made things worse. She "offered" to let us stay one night for $580. Luckily we ended up getting a decent price at AC Marriott in Wailea late that night and it was great. I would never recommend Maui Coast Hotel to anyone, do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.

Yelp
Just checked in, it's not worth the money. The balcony is literally right next to all the parked cars that I can almost touch the trunks of the cars. When a car starts, the exhaust comes into the room. Our room is supposed to be on the 2nd floor, so I guess 2nd floor is same level as the parking lot. Very disappointed for the price we paid for this place, over $500/night plus daily resort fee. What a rip off. The location is somewhat in a run-down area mingled in with the locals right next to a busy thoroughfare, and it's not on the coast. The room is real dark like a dungeon. Bathroom is real tiny. Charge a resort fee but there isn't any resort other than a small pool area.
