Outstanding!!! The only place I prefer to stay! Have been making over 20 trips to Maui - Once I discovered The Guest House, it fondly became the ONLY place I would prefer to stay. Tanna and team are outstanding -- as they became my 'one stop knowledge base and experience' for ALL THINGS MAUI. Because of them, I eventually became a full time resident on Maui and contribute to recommend them today. To miss The Guest House, is to miss All Things Maui!

Wow! Where to start? This is an incredible place to stay and we can't recommend it highly enough. After a stressful journey to Maui we were welcomed with such warmth and empathy we were bowled over! John, Heather, Barbara and Tanna work tirelessly to provide every need for their guests. There is such attention to detail, from the availability of cool boxes, free laundry, coffee, cold drinks, DVDs, beach chairs...the list is endless. Our recent trip covered a number of hotels but nothing came close to the cleanliness, personal service and above all hospitality of the Maui Guest House. We arrived as weary travelers but left as friends to our hosts. We can only reiterate previous comments as this is truly a home away from home. This is a must stay accommodation when visiting Maui. However, you will need to book well in advance. Having stayed for 10 days we can honestly say that the property and hosts were faultless. Have no hesitation in recommending, in fact it's the best accommodation we've stayed in! ||10 out of 10 in every detail!

We stayed for a week in Maui and loved our stay here. Tanna, Heather and John were great hosts and always there to help and answer questions. The kitchen was huge and offered all basics to prepare your own breakfast. You get coffee, tea, milk and other basics for free. The beach chairs and snorkling gear was great to have, also being able to wash your clothes was very helpful! We enjoyed the huge outdoor terrace and the view from the rooftop. The windows in the room are one of a kind, very colorful. We would love to go there again!

We stayed at Tanna‘s Guesthouse in June. From all the places we stayed at during our 3 week vacation in Hawaii this was by far the best! Everyone here is so extremely friendly and helpful. The two care takers Heather and John have been outstanding hosts and they made us feel really welcome and just like at home. The rooms are spacious and perfectly clean. The guesthouse is in a quite neighborhood and you can relax perfectly here. The kitchen is great, super clean and has everything you need. The pool is really nice and the jacuzzi great to relax and enjoy the night sky or sunset. You can rent anything you would need for outdoor activities on Maui. There is also a BBQ that we used and had dinner next to the pool or on the rooftop terrace. We enjoyed our stay here so much. It really is the perfect place to stay when visiting Maui!

We stayed in one of the back rooms with a private lanai which was beautiful and serene. The house was impeccably clean and the hosts, John and Heather, could not have been more gracious and welcoming. They were a wealth of information- with recommendations for activities and places to visit. They also anticipated our needs - offering snorkeling gear and having fresh brewed coffee available early every morning! Added bonuses for us were the use of a cooler for our days exploring and the use of a washer and dryer free of charge! The location was excellent too. A great beach just a little down the road perfect for snorkeling, swimming and playing in the sand! The Maui Guesthouse is a great value and we hope to visit again.

My wife and I stayed at the Maui Guest House and couldn't have been more satisfied. The room was spacious, had all the necessities, and the staff was great. They have coolers, beach gear, beach towels, and more for you to use. There is a laundry room for guests, and you have full run of the kitchen to cook, and the coffee is excellent. If we're come back to Maui, we'll come back to the Maui Guest House.

From the minute we arrived, we felt as if we were visiting family. Yes, the Guest House is beyond beautiful, tucked away in a quiet residential area. Yes, the rooms were all one of a kind with breathtaking stained glass, and such amazing wood carvings on walls & furniture. Beyond the beauty of this vintage building, is the warm welcome from tanna and her staff! There seems to be nothing they won't do to make your vacation perfect. Most "modern" accommodations have small common rooms, this building has huge open rooms to relax & enjoy, the outside deck (with pool & hot tub) is on two levels! Inside are two large living areas, kitchen for all to use, laundry facilities and probably more that I've forgotten! We learned first hand the meaning of "Aloha", the Hawaiian Culture's strong sense of responsibility for each other, and the natural world. You can enjoy most everything Maui has to offer, or just relax and smell the flowers here. We have family in Lahaina, so we will be anxiously waiting for our next visit. Thank you tanna !!!!!

I stayed at the Maui Guest House from 6/30/23-7/5/23. A fantastic experience for someone from PA wanting to make a trip to Maui possible. Extremely affordable without sacrificing the Hawaiian paradise experience. You are at a perfect middle point of downtown Lahaina and the great beaches to the north. Also, the top deck has a hot tub and a breathtaking view of the water. The pool is also nice for a lazy day between activities. I will find a way back here for a future trip, and excited to reconnect with the entire staff that were so kind and accommodating!

Yelp
We had an excellent stay at the Maui Guest house and can't say enough great things about the room/house and friendly staff. The amenities, location, cleanliness and helpfulness of the staff made this a 10/10 visit.

Yelp
Maui Guest House is everything Yelper's say and more! I did research before deciding to stay here. What was important for me was a quiet location with easy parking, comfortable surroundings and a kitchen. The beach was a block away and I was close to old historic Lahaina and the resorts at Kaanapali. The staff including Tanna, Christine, Barbara and others were all wonderful, warm personable people. They are what makes this place special and they offer value added services such as car rentals and more. Bedrooms have refrigerators so you can store your leftovers or pies that you purchased down the road at Leoda's Pie and Kitchen or fresh banana bread. If you want to do stargazing, all you need to do is walk up to their upper deck, find something to sit on and look up at the stars.

Yelp
We really.enjoyed our vacation while staying at the Maui Guest House. The house was very clean and comfortable with all the amenities included. There was a short drive to Lahaina, close shopping, grocery stores and beaches. Heather and John were very accommodating for our stay, performing duties and maintenance on site as required. In addition the place has a large patio deck with a dining area, lounge chairs, small pool, barbecue and excellent parking in front. The rooms are cleaned daily. Heather and John provided excellent service and knowledge of places to see and go in Maui. We rate our stay at Maui Guest House as excellent. We highly recommend the Maui Guest House for a comfortable vacation.

Yelp
First time we stayed at the Guest House and it was a great experience. We were very impressed by the very warm welcome we received from Tanna and her staff. They were without exception friendly and helpful. The place itself is beautiful. Our bedroom was very roomy, the TV was excellent with cable. The kitchen was so cool, like being at home. We even had a lot of fun helping to complete the seemingly endless supply of jigsaw puzzles that were always on the table. The salt water pool is very nice and the lanai is covered so we could get some respite from the Lahaina sun. I also got some great sunset shots from the rooftop deck. We highly recommend the Guest House!

Yelp
Fantastic Place to stay. Super clean and comfortable. They have everything you need. It's not beach front but close to Lahaina and other great spots. You can walk to an ocean front park nearby. Loved our stay here and want to return asap!

Yelp
This was our first B & B experience. I wasn't sure what we were in for but I am so happy we stayed at the GuestHouse. The entire time we were extremely comfortable. I loved people that work on the property, the salt water pool was great and the views were amazing. I am extremely picky when it comes to beds and pillows; the pillows were so comfortable I requested the info and will be buying the pillows for my home. Thanks again to the entire staff. We will be back. Thanks Again, Jamie and Chuck

Yelp
Second time staying at the Guest House. This place is awesome! The staff are friendly, and helpful, they really make you feel so at home. The house is meticulously clean, spacious and very comfortable. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet. Lots of privacy! They provide you with everything you could need to make for a great stay.. coolers, beach towels, umbrellas, beach chairs, snorkel equipment, boogie board.. sunscreen, towels, laundry access. It's amazing! The breakfast is great too. The property is in a great location. I wouldn't go to Maui without coming here. Thank you Tanna for another great stay, we will be back again soon!!!! Yelp
My wife and I went on a staycation for our anniversary visiting from O`ahu. Awesome place! Hot tub on our own private lanai!!!! Beautiful house lanai where u can BBQ and they have a pool! Since we are from Oahu we wanted to cruise by the pool. Since everyone there was visiting from the mainland the wanted beach. So it was almost like having the pool to ourselves. They also have a lanai on the roof of the house with tables and tanning chairs. All the caretakers were extremely friendly. We will definitely stay there again!

Yelp
We ended our island hopping trip with a final night back on Maui. We stayed at The Maui Guest House B&B, hosted by Tanna. Tanna was very responsive over email and phone while helping me booking the night at the last minute. We got to the B&B fairly late at night (10pm), Tanna was up to receive us. She made us feel very welcome from the moment we stepped into the house. She showed us around our room as well as the common area, got us drinks, and told us about the breakfast. Next day (since we are only staying one night and have an evening flight), Tanna offered to let us store our luggage in the house as well as use the common area bathroom. We took her up on the offer, which made our last day on the island a lot easier. The house is gorgeous inside and out. The front yard has a small pool and a patio area with a couple of patio tables (with umbrellas overhead) as well as a hammock. The living room is huge. It's connected to the kitchen/dining area. There is also a family room type of area in the back of the house. We stayed in the room in the back of the house. The room was very well appointed. There is a queen bed, as well as this sleeping area next to the bed that can accommodate one additional person. There is a large screen LCD tv mounted on the wall so you can watch tv from the comfort of the bed (there is a huge dvd library in the living room). The attached in-suite bathroom is nice. The suite also has its own private screened patio in the back yard of the house. There is a couple of lounger chairs, as well as a hottub that's only for us to use! Tanna said her and the staff usually have the breakfast ready around seven something in the morning. They did have a pretty nice spread that we enjoyed: beverages (milk and juices in the fridge, coffee/tea), muffins/bread/bagel, a very nice fruit platter, cereal. The house is about 2 miles from the commercial/touristy central area of Lahaina. It's about 40-50 minute drive from the main Kahului airport. It's pretty easy to find, either use google maps or follow the directions provided on the B&B's website. yelp currently has very few b&b reviews for hawaii. tripadvisor on the other hand has much better review coverage and density. hopefully this review will help get more yelp users to stay at the Maui Guest House and write reviews. For the yelp travelers out there, when you are researching Hawaii b&b options, i recommend that in addition to looking at yelp reviews, also check out tripadvisor. go to tripadvisor, in the search box type in the island you are looking at, e.g. "maui hawaii". the first entry in the search result should be the main tripadvisor page for that island. click through to it. on it you should see fairly close to the top, a short list of the top b&b's on the island. click on the link "All XXX b&b's" to see all the b&b's - this list is extremely useful because it is sorted by rating. I found this b&b that way - Maui Guest House is currently the 4th top ranked b&b on maui.

Yelp
Spent the last two days of our honeymoon here in 2010. Wonderful hosts and rooms. Hot tub in each room with a large flat screen tv and a huge library of dvds. So many extras. Beach towels, washer and dryer, huge kitchen with lots of spices and condiments to use. Small or large coolers for day trips. Snorkles, fins, beach chairs, first aid kit and toiletries. Your own refrigerator in each room. Ice bottles for the cooler. Great breakfast spread. Free wifi or use their guest computer. Salt water pool, outdoor dining sets, BBQ, and hammock. So close to the resorts and downtown Lahinia. The host is a licensed booking agent for all Maui related activities. 10% discount. Large rooms with gorgeous private bathrooms and patios or lanias. Open shared space for kitchen, dining, and living rooms. We booked last min and were so lucky they had one room available. Ocean view from deck. We met the other guests who were from other countries and very sweet. The only thing I will say is that they have AC but it's a little noisy. You can turn it off though. They have many reviews on trip advisor. We will be back!

Yelp
Like having a friend that lives on Maui who lets you stay at their place. And they have thought of EVERYTHING to make your stay perfect. Your own private hot tub on your own private patio, salt water pool, two large decks and everything ridiculously clean! Two blocks up from the beach where we snorkeled and observed several sea turtles swimming and flopping their way up the beach for a nap. Amazing staff and perfect location between Kaanapali and Lahaina Town.

Yelp
We were a little bit skeptical about staying in a bed and breakfast for our honeymoon because we wanted to make sure we'd have a lot of privacy. The Maui guest house was perfect! The staff was so helpful, Barbara covered everything we needed to have the perfect stay in Maui. Besides breakfast, we spent most of our time one on one. The rooms are so cute with a Hawaiian feel and we were able to have a romantic time with a bottle of wine and our own private hot tub. The location is great and we were so happy we took the staff's advice to borrow a tour guide CD when we drove the Road to Hana, and to go to the Old Original Luau. We had the most wonderful experience, with memories of our honeymoon to last a lifetime.

Yelp
Wow! That's the 1-word review i heartily give this wonderful bed and breakfast! Tanna is an amazing host and has created an amazing oasis of beauty and tranquility at the Maui Guest House. She's thought of everything, from saltwater hot tubs in each room, to the saltwater pool outside, double suntanning/leisure areas outside, beautiful lighting everywhere, a fully stocked kitchen with coffee, fruit and delicious pastries in the morning, to an enormous collection of DVDs and books, and so much more. The entire place is kept sparkling clean and beautiful and very reasonably priced. We stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will certainly be back next time, and we can't give this precious hidden gem high enough ratings -- AMAZING!!!

Yelp
We stayed here for 5 nights. We had a hot tub in the patio which was divine. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The kitchen was stocked to brimming, there was a laundry room, a pool with a large lounge area and an upstairs veranda with great views of the sea. The continental breakfasts were fantastic with fresh fruit and a whole range of buns, muffins etc and the staff were incredibly helpful, kind and friendly. Wonderful!!

Yelp
Amazing Maui Island B&B!!! I have gotten so accustomed to the latest trend of AirB&B's, that I forgot about the REAL authentic B&Bs that still exist!!! This place is super comfortable, with everything you need for an awesome trip on the island. Tanna was a wonderful host, and along with her staff Melodie and Christine, we were provided everything we expected and SO much more! The rooms are spacious, with private hot tubs, tv with DVD player (many titles to choose from in the library) and super comfy beds. The 2 common living room areas have a huge selection of books and magazines, a free guest computer, and many games and puzzles. The outside pool area is a perfect place to relax with a good book and unwind after a full day of Maui adventures. And the last tidbit... they really DO include breakfast at this place! Fresh fruit, muffins, cereal and all the coffee you could want! Thank you again Tanna! I will definitely be back! Mahalo, Ingrid
