My wife and I went to this monastery around 10am. The parking lot we parked was:
Friedhofweg 3, 75433 Maulbronn
As you walk past the entrance arch of the monastery from the parking lot, you enter into a building complex with another parking lot inside. One can also park over there.
Go into the information centre to get the visiting ticket and the audio guide is optional. My wife and I got one audio guide and used it to hear to the pre-recorded information. Its loud enough for two. The information is helpful to get the essence of the place.
Follow the map and enter building number:3 shown in the map. I have marked the entry point in the image for your reference.
The monastery takes us back in time where monks stayed and learnt their practises, rituals and prayers, which game me a sense of "Indian Gurukulam". In 2005, i discontinued myself from schooling. I stayed in a gurukulam in South-India, where I spent 2 years studying the priest course. Later gave up Gurukulam and got back to schooling.
All those past memories came flooding and there are so many resemblance between the Monastery culture & the Gurukulam way of life.
The monastery is huge and apart from the Central building, today the rest of the complex buildings are being used for other purposes.
Enjoy the visit!
