This is the highest volcanic origin peak in Auckland region.
The location is very central and one can easily forget that it is in the middle of the city, when one starts climbing the summit.
Vehicle access is allowed only until the parking, which is quite limited too.
The nearby streets do have on street parking, where one can park and walk up the summit.
There are many engaging features installed here now a days namely a boardwalk, well landscaped seating area to showcase the 360 degree views of the city, and some indigenous artefacts too.
The Auckland city skyline can be seen in the background, which is one of the most popular photo spots on the summit.
The crater on the top is well maintained and cordoned off.
Public toilets are available near the parking lot.
Child prams can be taken to the summit, with only a few stairs in the way.
Highly recommended for a couple of hours excursion, with family and kids.
