These Are the Best Temecula Valley Wineries to Visit

"Curiously punctuated Maurice Car'rie lays claim to the oldest vineyard in Temecula, planted back in 1968. The estate vineyard has now expanded to 91 acres, and provides the core of this winery's numerous bottlings under the Van Roekel Estate and Maurice Car'rie labels." - Richard Nalley

We recently discovered this winery in Temecula and had a great experience. The bread brie bowl was incredibly tasty, and the wine paired perfectly with it. We also loved that it was family-friendly—we brought our 18-month-old son along and felt completely comfortable and welcome. Relaxed atmosphere, great food and wine, and a place we’ll definitely return to. 🍷🧀

It’s my daughters bday month celebration and I wanted to bring them here to enjoy a nice ambience and relaxing time. Everyone was very kind and attentive. The live band was so cool and played some awesome music! 10/10. For lunch we had tomato bisque bowl 10/10, clam chowder bowl 10/10, chicken panini pesto 6/10, Tuscan pasta 9/10. Overall it was a great experience and I definitely recommend everyone one to come at least once but I think after one time you will make this a frequent place. We also had boozy pop mango 10/10 and mangoneada 10/10. See you next time! Awesome place to visit for sure!

Me and my mother in law visited this Winery last Friday! It was my first time wine tasting and Alyssa was the best host. She took her time and answered all my questions with ease! I will definitely spread the word and be back! Thanks Alyssaaaaaa!!!!! ❤️

I recently had the pleasure of revisiting Maurice Car’rie/Ultimate Winery, and what an experience it was! Since our last visit, they’ve incorporated the new reds and wines from Ultimate Winery, and we couldn’t be happier with the addition. Of course, we have to rave about their famous baked garlic sourdough bread bowl with Brie—it’s a must-have every time and the perfect shareable. The property is expansive, with a large grassy area where families and friends can relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. My wife and I shared a bottle of their Petite Syrah, which was absolutely fantastic! Our server, Alan, went above and beyond by letting us sample a few wines before we made our choice, which we really appreciated. In addition to the wine, they now have a full food menu, and we were blown away by the mushroom toast—it was delicious! Miguel, another amazing server, provided excellent service during our visit as well. We also tried the white wine Tango, and it was a perfect pairing with the food. This place is perfect for large groups, with plenty of picturesque spots for photos. Conveniently located at the start of wine country, right off Rancho California Road, it’s easy to get to and an ideal stop. We loved the addition of the Ultimate Winery wines alongside the classic sparkling wines from Maurice Car’rie. Highly recommend this winery for any gathering, and don’t forget to impress your group with that Brie bowl—it never disappoints!

I stopped into Maurice Car'rie recently with a group of girlfriends for lunch after wine tasting at nearby Halter Ranch (where they don't have food). They're best known (for good reason) for their famous garlic sourdough bread baked with Brie cheese...and of course, someone in our group ordered this to share with all! I had the pesto chicken pizza which was also amazing. The casual menu has something for everyone and the food is all great. Our group shared several bottles - Syrah, Rosé Grenache and one of the sparklings. It was a beautiful afternoon and we took over a big table on the covered outdoor side porch. The staff are all so friendly and helpful; service is excellent! We were fortunate enough to meet winemaker James through his adorable dog Milo who was running around in the grassy area. While talking to James, he graciously offered our group a very special port education and tasting from the barrel! What an absolute treat...and testament to the wonderful people who work at Maurice Car'rie!

The food was excellent. The Brie in sourdough bread was served hot and it had an amazing taste. The service was excellent . Salad was fresh and tasty. Sangria had too much ice, but, the taste was good . Excellent location and plenty of parking

We visited this winery for the 1st time to see The John Demps Full Effect Band. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon with a perfect temperature of 76 degrees on Dec 7th. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food & wine. It was unexpectedly delicious & well prepared! The pricing was fair as well and also a nice surprise. I ordered the Harvest Apple Salad with Chicken & The Apple & Brie Toast. Both dishes had an impressive presentation & were brought out to our table by the staff. You need to order at the bar tasting room and are given a number to set on your table for your food delivery. I was surprised to find that the chicken on my salad were generously cut pieces of tasty rotisserie chicken & not salty processed deli meat. The salad was a spring mix with plenty of walnuts & bleu cheese too. It was wonderful! The Apple & Brie Toast was a perfect compliment to the salad. Fresh baked sourdough bread with melted Brie & fresh slices of apple sitting on salad greens. I loved it! It also paired well with their Gewurztraminer wine, which was light & crisp & not overly sweet. Overall, we had a wonderful day & loved the food & wine & and fabulous music by John Demps Full Effect! All of the staff I communicated with were friendly & helpful as well & made us feel welcome. Thank you. 😃 As for the downsides of my experience, the women's restroom needed attention! One sink was clogged and gross & one toilet was horrible! There was dog poop 💩 on the grass near the outdoor table where we were seated. Ew! The holes all over the grassy area can cause you to twist an ankle. Be careful & dont wear heels. 👠 The seating on the wrap around deck is the best, but very loud when there is a band playing. Dancing will be on concrete. There is no wood dance floor. You may also want to bring your own comfortable folding chairs if you choose to sit out on the lawn area. Dress casual with 👟 sneakers & a hat 👒 to this winery. It's like visiting a park.🌳

If I could put this place at zero stars I would. I stopped here as part of a bachelorette party wine tour. I am a pregnant woman. After personally getting water for our entire table, I asked the bar if they had any n/a drinks, and all they had was soda—fine, but I didn’t want soda. Our party had paid for the amount of people in the party for transportation purchases, and the woman we were dealing with refused to give me a tasting glass and card, even though we had paid for it. I ended up convincing her to provide what we had paid for. I also wanted to taste the wines, so I took a small sip of each of the 5 glasses provided, likely less than ¼ of a wine glass total, which is completely safe in pregnancy. Then I would give the rest of my tasting glasses to women in the bridal party. I was verbally accosted by two tables while I was there. I was harshly judged. I overheard them talking about me and my body multiple times. Then, when I turned to say hello and explain that I was having tiny sips of each, I was told I was killing myself and my unborn baby. I had multiple complete strangers yelling in my face. I even had one man so bold as to RUDELY ask if I was having twins, presumably to make fun of the size of my stomach. No staff stepped in. No staff apologized to me. It was the worst service experience I have ever encountered. I would not recommend anyone visit this establishment.
