We visited today and it was absolutely amazing. The design and decoration beyond imagination. The dome was spectacular. This is where King Mohammed V is buried with his two sons. It is free to enter. The guards are dressed in amazing uniforms. Just a spectacular site and a must visit when in Rabat. We loved our visit to see this historical location.

Located near the Hassan Tower this iconic landmark contains the tombs of Moroccan King Mohammed 5 & two sons. It’s a quiet place, beautifully constructed with apparently someone sitting in the Mausoleum at all times.

Great place. I enjoyed my trip to Rabat and explore the Mausoleum of Mohammed 5, who has had a great historical significance for the country of Morocco.

Cultural building that’s free to enter and well worth seeing. No photos allowed and this is well policed. When we went someone dropped a yoghurt that landed near the coffin. The place was hastily evacuated but the guards inside were very calm and polite. The guards that stand on each of the four doors are happy for you to take your photo of them. Don’t touch their gun though: we saw a young child get scolded for this!

Here’s a rThe Mausoleum of Mohammed V is a must-see when visiting Rabat. Located next to the Hassan Tower, this architectural marvel is not only a significant historical site but also a stunning tribute to Morocco’s heritage. The mausoleum houses the tombs of King Mohammed V and his two sons, King Hassan II and Prince Moulay Abdallah, making it an important place of reverence for Moroccans. The exterior alone is breathtaking, with its intricate white marble facade and green tiled roof symbolizing Morocco’s royal colors. Upon entering, you’re greeted with an equally magnificent interior. The ceiling is elaborately decorated, and the marble floors and walls are adorned with exquisite zellige tilework and calligraphy. Everything here feels thoughtfully crafted, creating a sense of both grandeur and serenity. What really stood out during our visit was the respectful, peaceful atmosphere, where visitors are reminded of the country’s rich history and the legacies of its past rulers. Guards in traditional attire stand by the tombs, adding to the solemn ambiance. The mausoleum offers more than just architectural beauty; it provides a moment to pause and connect with Morocco’s past in a respectful, reverent setting. It’s an unforgettable experience and highly recommended for anyone visiting Rabat, whether for its architectural beauty, historical importance, or cultural significance.
