I stayed here recently and had one of the worst hostel experiences I’ve ever had. At 4 AM, a guest in my dorm brought a stranger into the room and had sex on the upper bunk right above me. The noise was unbearable, and the bunk was shaking so much that I was genuinely worried about it collapsing. I reported this to reception at 6 AM, but management’s response was dismissive and unhelpful. They tried to deny my booking details just because on my email was the prefer name appeared not my passport name, and they ghosted my email after I tried clarifying it — which is absurd for a professional hostel.
On top of this, the common area is extremely disappointing. There are no entertainment facilities (no pool table, no games, nothing to encourage social interaction). For a hostel that advertises itself as social, this was a huge letdown.
To make matters worse, after I booked my bed for £30 per night in a 4-bed dorm, the price was suddenly reduced to £20 per night. It feels like they took advantage of early bookings and offered no compensation or adjustment for guests who paid more.
Overall, I felt unsafe, disrespected, and overcharged. There are plenty of better hostels in Budapest — I strongly recommend looking elsewhere!
