Nestled on Istanbul's vibrant İstiklal Avenue, Mavi offers stylish, affordable denim and unique local T-shirts but could use a makeover in customer service.

"A Worthy Souvenir of the City Mavi means “blue” in Turkish, as in denim, and in Turkey the retailer Mavi is analogous to Gap, producing fashionable and affordable clothing made in Turkey. While they now have a worldwide presence, you’ll find shops in each of Istanbul’s considerable clutch of shopping malls, as well as several on İstiklal Avenue and in Nişantaşı and Kadiköy. In addition to jeans, Mavi collaborates with local artists for their range of original and surprisingly non-touristy Istanbul T-shirts, with designs depicting iconic city silhouettes like the Galata Tower or graphics of ubiquitous street cats and seagulls. The shirts are a good choice for kids’ souvenirs especially, and if you forget to shop, you’ll also find them at the airport (at a decent but reasonable markup from city stores)."
Good quality jeans, poor service, poor management, no public bathrooms even if you spend hundreds of dollars. They don’t speak English, the sales people are socializing among each other. Well the security guy, Savaş is amazing. He offered a glass of water. He must be recognised!

disgusting and disrespectful cashier. she obviously just threw receive in my shopping bag and my bag after the payment (she even couldn't processed it normally) and looked at me like - "get lost", it's a joke? mavi managers need to pay attention to their stuff. shame

Worst customer service in Istanbul despite spending 300 dollars. The female attendees on Level 1 and check-out are unskilled, racist and uncourteous to foreigners, travellers and mainly shoppers. The other reviews and data points for this shop confirm her inherent discrimination bias and general xenophobic dealing with non Turkish travellers. I love the brand and travel from Australia to Paris and come to Istanbul for this brand. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time that I've encountered unhelpful and ill-mannered dealing with staff at this store. They don't speak English (intentionally or unintentionally), they are condescending in providing instructions and don't value Mavi's customers. The attendee hit my phone by passing me my shopping and lacks the courtesy to apologise or be cognisant of their below par social intelligence. Nothing against the brand but their employees work against the cause of the brand.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I have 2 detailed incidents to justify. One of the store representative didn't seem welcoming, which was confirmed with his cold look throughout the 1 hour of my shopping. When I asked for medium size for a t-shirt I liked he pretended to check (for literally 5 seconds) and said we don't have it. 2 mins later I found it myself.
The store has a tax free shopping board on the display. That's basically every tourist's right (granted by the Turkish government itself). When I asked on the checkout the lady said we don't provide that with an arrogant look. When I pointed to the board then she changed her stance and said the system is down (which is a total lie because you will find multiple reviews mentioning the same).
I'm not sure if all this experience was because of racism/xenophobia or because they want to extrort tourists (knowing that we like the brand and products). Either way it was the worst shopping experience of my life.

Went there to buy souvenir T-shirts. Extremely slow and unfriendly service.

The staff are so rude, I asked for tax free and she said no we dont have and then I explained that yes you do! But she did not understand English and made a look and talked with bad tone. I eventually returned my purchase and I asked to have the fee back in cash because she did not know how to work with their system and she said no only card. I still have not received the money back and it was more than 100 euros. I told them that the system did not read my card at all but they gave me some forms and they asked me to sign. Then I asked them to sign the receipt they gave me and they refused. They took half an hour of my time to translate and at the end they did not sign the forms or stamp of the shop. Such a Shame. It is a good brand and I have been wearing Mavi for years but with this experience I will never buy from them again. Horrible customer service.

As a person that lives in Canada, i have always been a fan of Mavi clothing. Unfortunately retailers in Canada stopped carrying this brand. So I was excited to go to this store on Sunday morning to pick up some last minute items. However I have to say the behavior of the cashier ruined it for me. She was extremely rude. I asked for the tax free voucher and she refused to give it, making up a story that their system is down, with a nasty look and attitude, bordering on racism. This is Istiklal street. This is a tourist street in a tourist town. If you don't like serving tourists, if you don't like to see people of different nationality, then don't work here. Happy to have you in Canada and show you how we live with people from all over the world, and enjoy each other's differences. Shameful behavior and attitude. A word of caution for the brand managers. Your customer service people are your brand ambassadors. Don't ever forget that.

Poor attitude & refusal to give a tax receipt by the lady at checkout. I took 3 pairs of jeans from men's section and went downstairs to pay for it. The lady at checkout took my payment but refused to give me a tax receipt, saying flatly "no tax receipt". Her colleague happily gave me a tax receipt, only the day before, so this employee most likely just couldn't be bothered. With a tax receipt, overseas citizen can get 5% tax back at the airport. It's not huge but it's the right of a non-Turkish person to have it.
I wasn't going to leave a poor review but this lady's attitude was really poor & dismissive.
Mavi Beyoglu, please train your staff for basic service and manners. They're not there to treat people like sheep. Their attitude reflects on your company.
