Worth it to try the sushi! Even though we went during peak hours and had to wait, there were seats available outside the restaurant, so it was pretty comfortable. They have a wide variety of sushi to try, and the freshness is top-notch. The only thing that didn't quite agree with my taste was the dessert my kids chose, custard egg. It was not for me. I was a bit worried when I saw my two kids eating without seeming to enjoy it, just chewing away. Just look at the plates they left behind! But thankfully, it ended well and we didn't get ripped off considering how much we ate. We spent ¥5,544 for three person. So, you gotta try it when you're in Tokyo!

Mawashizushi Katsu Seibu Shibuya is an absolute gem for anyone who loves authentic, high-quality sushi in a fun and lively setting. Located conveniently inside Seibu Shibuya, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a delicious meal after a day of exploring the city. The variety is incredible — from classic favorites to seasonal specialties, everything is fresh, beautifully prepared, and reasonably priced. You can really taste the quality in every bite, whether it’s a simple tuna nigiri or a special seasonal delicacy. Watching the chefs work behind the counter adds even more to the experience — you feel the care and passion they put into every plate. The atmosphere is vibrant yet welcoming, perfect for solo diners, couples, or groups. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always ready to recommend something new to try. Mawashizushi Katsu isn’t just a meal, it’s a full sushi experience — fun, delicious, and full of authentic Tokyo charm. I can’t wait to come back!

Amazing!!! One of the best conveyor belt sushi in Tokyo ever! And I tried so many, everything tastes good! And such an affordable price! Fast, fresh and generous portions, had a little waiting time even 4pm in a weekday but totally worth it! It’s located in the 8th floor! Ah not so many options in the conveyor belt itself but no worries, just need to order from the ipad and its arrive really quickly

Google
What a wonderful little spot! There are no reservations, you simply sign up for a ticket at the computer which is super user friendly. You look for your call number and go inside. Everything is done through Ipads. Even if the waiting room seems like it'll take a while we never waited more then 10 minutes to eat. The restaurant is clean, sushi is fresh and flavourful and it's a fun spot to dine! Totally recommend for a quick sushi pick me up. We loved all nigiri but particularly the smoked or torched ones with sauces and green onions. Must try!

Google
The lineup was crazy it took us over an hour to get a seat! Surprisingly, people were willing to wait, and I think I know why their sushi is fresh, and the fish portions are quite generous. We especially enjoyed the bluefin tuna, along with the unlimited ocha and ginger. I’ll definitely come back for sushi on my next trip to Japan. The best time to visit seems to be closer to closing time there’s pretty much no lineup then.

Came at 4:30 PM on a weekday — no queue at all, and we were promptly seated. This is a conveyor belt sushi place, but you can also order directly from the tablet, which makes it easy to get exactly what you want. Everything looked fresh, and you can even choose between a regular or less rice portion when placing your order. A small but thoughtful detail! Highly recommend the Seared Fatty Salmon — it was the highlight of the meal. Overall, a clean, efficient, and satisfying spot for affordable sushi in Shibuya. Would definitely return.

Google
Best conveyor belt sushi! Wide variety of selection, fresh ingredients and affordable pricing! Only bad thing is the very long queue but it is digital ticketing so you can always go off to shop and head back when it’s your turn! Will definitely come back again!

Mawashizushi Katsu is one of Tokyo’s best kaiten sushi experiences — fresh, fast, and fun. Located inside Seibu Shibuya, this spot delivers high-quality sushi at surprisingly reasonable prices. 🍣✨ From buttery otoro and uni to seasonal specialties, everything is freshly prepared and beautifully presented. The touch-screen ordering is super efficient, with sushi arriving swiftly via a speedy express belt. 🚄🍥 The quality of the fish rivals many upscale sushi spots, and the variety is fantastic. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming — perfect for solo diners or groups. With friendly staff, quick service, and mouthwatering sushi, this place earns its 5 stars effortlessly. 🐟🍵🥢

Yelp
This revolving sushi restaurant has been on my go list for over 10 years. When people ask me, what is the one place I should hit up when I'm in Tokyo, I give them this place as a recommendation. I have seen it evolved in terms of how the wait system is developed, the menu items and the pricing. I think it has become very popular and in Jan 2025, my latest visit, alas, I have found it has changed profoundly. The wait system has improved to a pull the number kiosk at the front of the store. I think this is a good thing. The offering can be ordered via iPad and they have a limited menu on the revolving line. My favorite is the premium unagi and the pieces have gotten smaller and more expensive. Blame it on inflation. It is still very worthwhile to visit and I will always come for the nostalgia. We used to can eat our hearts and stomach out for about $30 US, but pricing has increased. It's still a good value considering you are in Shibuya. I still come here for the nostalgia and it will remain a top recommendation but now I do it with an * and a "but" It's located on the 8th floor to the Seibu department store. Take the elevator up and look for the line. Pull your number and have a seat and wait if one is an available.

Yelp
This place is located on the 8th floor of a shopping complex. There are a ton of restaurants on this floor but it's the only one when we came that had a huge line of people waiting. You sign in on the kiosk and them they will eventually call your number once a table is ready for you. This place was amazing with a vast menu of a variety of dishes that included seafood and sushi. Everything tasted amazing and everything was super fresh. The dishes come on a conveyor belt and you can just grab what looks appetizing, in addition you can also order food and it will come on a little traveling train above the conveyor belt. What was absolutely amazing about this place is that we ordered around 25 dishes and four drinks and the bill came out to less than $40. It's a super amazing value for a fun experience and excellent food.

Yelp
Food was awesome. Great quality and selection. Very reasonable. The abalone, scallop, and uni was very good.

Yelp
Knowing this place will get packed and with long wait, my sister and I decided to get there 45 mins before they opened. We were first in line! Super excited when we were finally seated. This is a self service conveyor belt sushi place. You can order from the tablet or get any available items running on the conveyor belt. When ordering from the tablet, your orders will be delivered to you on the top conveyor belt. Bottom belt is used for items available for all customers. This place offered many different items. There were a lot more raw than cooked but there were varieties. They charge by the plate. Most items we ate were good. Couple were meh. We mostly ordered through the tablet as there were not many options on the conveyor belt. We ate total of 36 plates! When done, you request for the check on the tablet. After you request for the check, a server would come over. The server would scan how many plates on your table and hand you the check. Then you will take your check to the front to pay.

Yelp
so I returned here twice five months later on my next Tokyo trip. My five star review still stands because everything is still delicious but there were certainly more tourists in line compared to the first time my boyfriend and I were there in November, obviously there are more tourists during sakura season than off season but idk in general if people are starting to ungatekeep this place LMAO Lunch time had a longer queue (45-60 minutes) compared to dinner (30 minutes) so plan accordingly. They close at 11pm but had to close at 9pm on one of the times my boyfriend and I visited due to so many customers earlier. Because of more customers, sushi was slower to make their rounds on the conveyor belt, even though the sushi chefs were working as diligently as they could. Overall, just be mindful of your wait time and inconsistent availabilities of some sushi pieces. But if you can get in, don't skip this place

Yelp
I came here for lunch. My kids had so much fun here with the conveyor belt sushi and games. Although it wasn't easy to win the capsules. You have to pay $1 extra for better chances for each dish. The service was only received when you called for them. Otherwise you get guided to your table, and you are off on your own. You check out on your tablet in the table and pay at the front desk. The sushi was very fresh and this is a kid friendly restaurant. Many foreigners come here to eat as well. The place is set up in booth style wooden chairs. Very clean place. I would definitely come back if I had a chance.

Yelp
Went here twice within a week because you get a great value of sushi that doesn't cost tons of money. This place is a KAITEN (conveyor belt sushi) but you can also order from their menu. It's always busy so we recommend to go after lunch hour. Avoid weekends, really busy. It can get pretty noisy inside the restaurant when it's busy. But the sushi's are good. Recommend.
google avatar

Kristofer E.

Yelp
Excellent sushi and value. We ate like 22 plates and kids meals for $40. Ridiculous. The sushi is made to order pretty much as not much goes out on the conveyor belt line anymore. Highly recommend but get here 20 min before it opens. Lunch * Kids plates (Excellent) * Amebi (Excellent)

Yelp
You get great value for great quality sushi at Katsumidori! This revolving sushi restaurant where you can either grab or order off the menu has a 90 min time limit. But don't worry because special ordered dishes will come speeding over on the bullet train to save you some time! So much variety here of things we cannot get at home in Hawai'i. Everything was fresh and lots of things just melt in your mouth like the fatty salmon, tuna, engawa (hirame) and high grade unagi. A new and amazing dish for us was the turban shell which you must scoop out with a giant bamboo toothpick. Make sure you get it good so you don't have to wrestle with it. You can also break the brittle shell. Everything comes on difference colored plates including the beer which you stack and count at the end. The ikura came on its own special golden plate. Between the 5 of us, we downed 46 plates!
google avatar

Thuy Anna L.

Yelp
The Katsumidori sushi at this location is located inside the Seibu building. Take the elevators by the cosmetic counters and it should take you straight to the outside of the restaurant. To queue, sit on the next available chair/stand in line outside the restaurant. The host will come to get you once a table opens up. This place has the BEST conveyor sushi I've ever had (I've tried four places in Japan). It rivals even some regular sushi restaurants in Japan, in my opinion. The quality is like no other and the prices were unreal (so affordable!). The uni, sweet shrimp, scallops and everything was amazingly fresh and sweet. The sushi rice was on point. The sushi here is better than 99% of the sushi I've had at any restaurant in the US on the east coast. If I had to pick to eat at just only one sushi restaurant during my trip to Japan, this would be the place. Definitely come here if you are looking for great quality sushi without breaking the bank!

Yelp
Full disclosure ima start out by saying i'm a New York native and this was my first meal in Tokyo so I really have literally zero frame of reference whatsoever regarding whether this place is worth visiting or not. If you're still reading, I'll be happy to share my experience of this place with you. GF and I obviously felt obligated to try a conveyor belt sushi place while visiting Tokyo and this place was the choice because I had read of their vegetarian options. We're so naive we walked up at around 2pm thinking there wouldn't be a wait which was rich because there was quite the queue of chairs around the perimeter occupied by others who had the same idea for lunch. Supposedly today is a holiday so that may make a difference. The line moves pretty quickly though and before we knew it, we were seated at a small table for 2. This was an entirely new concept to us and while a fair amount of stuff is in English, there are a lot of things that are not and we had to figure out what the fuck was going on and what to do. The staff was very busy but they made their irritation with our ignorance clear which is one of the reasons for not quite reaching the 5 star mark. I would have liked to have seen more variety with the conveyor belt offerings but fortunately, you can order many other things via the tablet menu at the table. We tried multiple things, I the cucumber roll, edamame, avocado tempura, Inari, and another concoction that was essentially a tempura natto roll. The edamame needed soy sauce, I've had better edamame in the states, but everything else was pretty good. GF ordered some of their seafood sushi including, and I quote "I don't know, a bunch of a shit". Her review, "good". For drinks, I ordered a few of their sours, one lychee and one matcha. The lychee was WAY to sweet for me. I don't know how it is supposed to taste, however. I'm glad we went and it was worth the experience but the food did not blow me away.

Yelp
I don't know why with so many choices for sushi in Shibuya that I somehow always end up back here. I do like that it's not truly a "conveyor belt" sushi place in that you actually order from a tablet and the chef prepares the sushi to order and hands it to you. There are things that rotate around the belt, but I recommend you order instead of grabbing off the belt for ensured freshness. However, there will be times when the chefs will yell out that special items (usually placed on lower price colored plates) are coming around. But you pretty much have to understand Japanese to know what is being offered. The customers are a good mix of tourist and locals. The restaurant is located on the 8th floor of the Seibu Shibuya Department Store. You'll need to enter the department store and follow the elevator signs to take you up. Then you'll need to get in the queue (no tickets) and staff will come out to ask how many diners and direct customers in when seat become available. The restaurant is about 10-20% more pricier than other conveyor belt sushi establishments but given the quality (made to order), better options (both food and drinks), and easy to understand ordering system, it's definitely worth it. Easy to find within a few steps of the Shibuya Crossing.

Yelp
Sushi that was so good, I had to come here two days in a row! The first time I ate here, I dined solo. My friends were shopping in the area and I just wanted to eat something quick and tasty. Because I was dining by myself, I was eating my first piece of sushi 10 min after arrival. I came back the next day with my friends because I couldn't stop thinking about how good the meal was and we had to wait around 45 minutes for our seats. Despite the longish wait, my friends unequivocally agreed that it was well worth the wait. Their selection of sushi and the quality of fish blows any conveyor belt sushi that I've had in the states out of the water. Star of the show was the fatty tuna. If you're ever on the hunt for affordable (by US standards), quick, and quality sushi, look no further!

Yelp
Great revolving sushi restaurant with decent sushi prices and fast service. Everything is self ordered on a screen. The dishes are made to order and the place wasn't too crowded. Great find and everyone loved it!

Yelp
Located inside the Seibu department store, we arrived here while there was a short line, that quickly grew. There were 4 of us and we decided to split into pairs since they kept bypassing us and taking two's. Great that they gave a long row of seats that you can sit on while waiting. After walking all morning, we were glad to sit down. Love how smart the Japanese are in building cubbies in the seats for you to store your bags. A hot water spout was at the table for you to make green Matcha tea yourself. While there were sushi plates going down the conveyor belt, we chose to order most of our sushi through the iPad at the table. Sushi was fresh and choices were good. When we were done, we signaled one of the staff to check out. They used a machine that could quickly scan our plates and sum up our total, so cool!
google avatar

Yelp
Good, inexpensive, and very crowded conveyor belt sushi place on the top floor of a department store. Crowd seemed to be an equal mix of tourists and locals. Upon arriving, you check in at a kiosk and get a number, and then watch the board for your number to come up - if you miss your number, they move on to the next group. Get there early because it's guaranteed to be a long wait, and the night we went, they shut the kiosk down around 7:15. They do have a website that you can check to see how many people are ahead of you if you want to go shopping while you wait. Oddly, only a few varieties of sushi went by on the conveyor, and they were pretty ordinary. More interesting selections can be made on a tablet with a full menu, and the chef hands them to you once prepared. The weirdest thing is that sake goes by on the conveyor: grab that instead of ordering from the menu unless you're a very large group because the bottles on the menu are massive!
google avatar

Bridget J.

Yelp
Make sure you grab a ticket right away for seating. Be prepared for a long wait because it's popular with tourists and shoppers alike. Would recommend scallops and generous portions of fresh fish. Ended up ordering mostly from the tablet because we got in around 8 pm.

Yelp
While exploring in Shibuya, we had a sudden craving for sushi so we thought a good option that was easy and reasonably priced would be a quality revolving sushi spot. We discovered Mawashi Zushi Katsumidori within a giant mall so we decided to opt for it. (The malls in Tokyo are huge and can have a ton of nice restaurants located inside). The restaurant was walk in only and there was a line so we hopped right in. We also noticed that this was the only restaurant on the entire floor with a line so we perceived that as a good sign of the popularity and quality. For two of us, we waited about 20 min before we were able to get in and be seated. The way revolving sushi operates is very easy. All the seats are by a conveyor belt that food continually rotates on. You can grab anything that is of interest to you and every plate is differently priced depending on the color coded plate the food arrives on. There's also a touch screen console at the table where you can order directly from and your food will arrive via a little trains we primarily ordered everything off the menu as to have the food be fresher and sent directly to us, and there's no difference in price from the conveyor belt. We ordered so much. I can't even recall everything we ordered but overall, the quality was really solid. I never go into revolving sushi expecting the highest grade so my expectations are ready ahead of time but this spot was quite good; much better than other revolving sushi we had. We definitely took the opportunity to indulge in fattier cuts of fish like salmon and tuna. We were also quite surprised that the uni was tasty, creamy, and sweet, which I feel is always a good measurement of the quality of a restaurant seafood. Def minutely would go back for a quality and resonantly priced way to satisfy the spontaneous sushi cravings

Yelp
I had high expectations for this place, but was unfortunately let down. Pretty much filled with 90% tourists, which is usually a red flag. The quality of the sushi was ok, but no better than most budget sushi I've had. There were a few good pieces that stood out, mainly the scallop & flounder. The workers looked over worked & slightly ticked off as if they were disgusted at their patrons. Would honestly not recommend.

Yelp
Came for kaiten sushi with my classmate. It's good quality sushi for the prices. We waited a short while in line and got seats at the counter pretty quickly. Where we sat, our orders came on a tray with a picture of swordfish in the background.
google avatar

Tonya S.

Yelp
The sushi was good and the novelty of the experience was well worth it. We were entertained by the food passing by and also had the opportunity to order a certain dish. They made great use of the space at the bar, where you had self-service green tea from a hot fountain and powdered tea, along with a box full of ginger. While the wasabi was available in individual packets that would pass by on the conveyor belt. It was very affordable and I would recommend stopping in.

Yelp
I dined here alone Sunday lunch. I came across randomly when I was at Shibuya station and it wasn't too far of a walk. There were about 15 ppl already waiting in line 30 min prior but the store was big enough to accommodate without a wait. Good selection on the menu. Most items were ordered on the electronic menu rather than taken directly off the belt. Disappointed because 2 of the recommended/specials were sold out even thought the store had just opened. You can choose regular and lite rice. I left satisfied for $20.
google avatar

Rose W.

Yelp
I tried 5 different sushi restaurants while in Tokyo and this was my favorite one. It's located inside a department store near Shibuya Crossing. We came around 3pm and there was still a line waiting at the door. We waited for about 15 minutes before being seated. You can either get your food from the conveyor Belt or order from their IPad (has English menu). I recommend ordering from the IPad because there is more variety. They have a live chef making your order in front of you (if you sit at the counter). The nigiri sushi pieces were fresh and the fish quality and quantity did not lack. I loved the aburi sushi but didn't really like the pickled sushi roll. In general, the sushi were delicious and mouth watering! Also you can get unlimited green tea!! They price their sushi based on the color of the plate you choose. The sushi was affordable based on the value of the sushi we got. In total we spent around 6000 yen for two people but this is because we over ordered and was super full afterwards.
google avatar

Eddie K.

Yelp
I've read that the lines can get very long for lunch and dinner. Get there by 11:30 for lunch or 5:30 for dinner. We went around 1:30 and there was no wait. The sushi is pretty good and you can order all the food from their iPad. They have an option for Chinese or English. I would stick their "Listed Best Seller." I loved the prime extra fatty tuna and prime medium fatty tuna. The highlight was their fresh fatty salmon. I never had salmon like that before. I ordered it two times. I would avoid the stuff on the sushi conveyor belt. They didn't taste that great. I did like their fried oysters though. So, stick with their sushi listed on their iPad ordering system and you will enjoy your meal. You press on check when you are ready to leave and pay with their cashier. Lunch for the six of us was $90! What a great deal.

Yelp
Fun conveyor belt sushi that is so fresh! You can pull from the belt or order on a piece of paper and hand it straight to the sushi chef if you're sitting by the bar. We came for a late night dinner around 830-9 pm and waited about 20 minutes outside before getting seated. Lots of different types of sushi to choose from, either the higher-end pieces to traditional and then unique slices as well. The color of the plate distinguishes the cost. The winners for us were the fatty tuna, scallop and tia unique fresh crab and pate piece! Uni was meh but price was much cheaper than in the US. Overall, this is a good stop to make in Seibu Mall for a sushi fix that won't break the bank!
google avatar

Eva L.

Yelp
This is a pretty good quality conveyor sushi place where the prices are very affordable! Luckily, we came here right before the dinner rush. There's no place for you to write down your name, you just pretty much line up in the chairs outside like musical chairs and slowly move up towards the entrance. First off, there's so many selections of sushi! You will need to write down your order on a piece of paper. You could opt to pick up any selections you want on the conveyor belt, but sometimes the selections may be limited. After you order on a piece of paper, you hand it to one of the servers so that the chefs can prepare plates for you - they will send it to you on the conveyor belt! We didn't eat much here since we had a pretty big lunch and wanted to save room for dessert, but I can imagine one eating so many plates and paying a pretty decent meal price. Another cool thing here is that at your seats, there's a DIY matcha. There's a "spout/faucet" for you to pour hot water into your cup, in which you can pour matcha powder inside and you just mix and drink it! Overall, I highly recommend this place if you're craving for conveyor belt sushi that's delicious and super affordable!

Yelp
I thought this place was overhyped but I was pleasantly surprised and place delivered great quality sushi/sashimi at a great price point. Visited a couple of times during our visit and would highly recommend.

Yelp
Fresh sushi, quick service, close to shibuya crossing. DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY THE LONG QUEUE! It moves very quickly. We almost gave up on seeing the long queue but very glad we chose to stay.

Yelp
This was hands down, the best experience we've had at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. After many tries to get my sushi fix, Katsu Midori Seibu Shibuya exceeded expectations. I tried going to Hanamaru located in Kitte, but queue was too long and we were on the brink of hanger. We tried to hit up Kura Sushi in Ikebukuro at 9pm, but queue was 2 hours!! So by the third try, I was a bit expectant. Thank goodness the line for this was short! We arrived a little before 3pm. I had read that this place gets super crowded, so we planned to arrive after the lunch rush. Luckily, the restaurant does not accept reservations and you wait in line for an open table. It's first come first serve and the host will direct you to your table once ready. We were seated in a booth, which had a server that spoke English to help explain or answer questions. Fortunately, we had a tablet at booth that had an option to view the menu in English, so that made it super easy to navigate and place our orders. It even breaks it down by price, best sellers, nigiri, sweets and drinks. We initially started with a few items of interest from the belt, such as shrimp tempura, cold karaage and shrimp tempura roll. After we became familiar with the menu, we started placing our own orders - mantis shrimp, abalone steak, grilled corn, unagi, tobiko, masago, ikura, uni & crab miso. They arrive by sushi train on a track above the conveyor belt! You basically grab your items, push the red button to send the train back and enjoy! Check out is also super easy. Just stack up the plates and the server will come by and scan all the plates. They print out the ticket and you just head up to the front to pay. Highly recommend coming through a hassle-free time. Also, the ice cream here was surprisingly delicious, so save some room for dessert :) Enjoy!

Yelp
Solid sushi spot. They have a HUGE selection but you pay my by the color of the plate. I've been to a place in Kyoto where it's ¥100/plate but they had a smaller selection. There's seating where you actually sit around the sushi making work stations and you can hand them your personal orders instead of waiting for them to come around. Or there's booth seating where I assume you pass your order sheet to the waiter/waitress. The fish/seafood quality is pretty good here. I recommend it if your looking for a cheaper sushi spot with a large selection. I also like how you can make your own matcha tea from where you're sitting. My family and I were happy with our experience. Btw, there is a long wait. Good thing they have chairs outside for people to sit down on. Luckily the line moves fairly quickly. If you're pretty hungry make sure to go earlier to beat the long lines.

Yelp
I'm not a big revolving sushi bar person because I like to watch the chef freshly prepare my sushi. This place was really amazing though. The cut anbd quality of the sushi and sashimi were pretty amazing. The prices are great for the quality of fish. The only bummer was I ate way too much and had to eat some of the sushi my family ordered because the couldn't finish it.

Yelp
Was in shibuya Sunday night. Me and my wife just got off from adidas store right next to 109 shibuya then we decided to go for sushi. We stumbled upon this restaurant on our last visit to japan last year, it was so damn good and very cheap considering it is located in shibuya and it's on the 8th floor of SEIBU department store. Okay so cut to the chase, after a 1 and half hour long wait. Which is a good indication if there's a wait this long for a restaurant. We finally been sit and serve some one of the best sushi I've ever eaten. This is a gaiten sushi place, revolving bar sushi restaurant for y'all that not familiar with what is gaiten sushi. Upon sitting, there's a hot water faucet installed in every table that you could self serve yourself, also they provide a matcha powder free for your hot water. And it's not the cheap kind, I can tell. I forgot to take the picture of it. Soy sauce, Yuzu ponzu sauce, pickled ginger are provided as well. You could grab anything from the revolving belt or you could order it fresh from the iPad on the table as well. We got bunch of stuffs last night: tuna, fatty tuna, hotate which is scallop, flounder fin, etc etc Everything I mean literally everything melt in your mouth, that's how fresh the fish is. Also the fish to rice ratio is generous. This place really blow my mind away. At the end bill came out just about $35 US American dollar! If you are in shibuya area in japan, I highly recommended this place!! Cheers!

Yelp
Not the best sushi, but sushi at a good price and plenty of it. Japan is famous for its sushi, even the not-so-high end kaiten, conveyor belt, sushi that is almost ubiquitious in the touristy areas of Tokyo. This is not without reason: cheap sushi in Tokyo is actually quite good. This restaurant is a perfect example. For under 3,000 yen per person you can enjoy a filling sushi meal complete with nigiri sushi (they sell higher quality ootoro at 500 yen a pop), maki sushi, fried foods (tempura and the like), and a variety of desserts. Beyond the large variety of food options compared with more traditional establishments, this kaiten sushi place also offers a fun ordering system: you use an Ipad to place your order (this Ipad can be set to several different languages for customers who might want to order in their own native languages) and the food zooms out on a train like contraption. Also, for people who want to indulge in alcohol, this place provides a variety of sours, sake, and beer. Perhaps not the best in quality, but definitely a worthwhile experience.

Yelp
Katsu Seibu was my first stop in Japan after arriving in Shibuya. It is a conveyor belt sushi joint located on the 8th floor of the Seibu mall. There was already a pretty long wait outside the establishment, but my bf and I were seated in no time since we had a smaller party. Our method of ordering sushi was via the tablet since we sat at the table further away from the chefs. The menu was easy to read and understand so ordering was a breeze. Sushi were sent to us through a cute little bullet train-like device on the conveyor belt. We got everything pretty quickly and continued to snatch nigiri off the belt too. My favorite were the tuna, negitoro, ikura, and sweet shrimp nigiris. They were all super fresh (no fishy aftertaste) and priced significantly less than what I pay at Kula or Gatten in LA. If I had to complain, I guess the only one thing that I was rather bummed about was the fact that you can't request for less rice. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience here; experience from start to finish was quick, easy, and hassle-free. It's definitely one of the better conveyor belt sushi joints out there (and there's a lot). After stacking the plates, we asked for checkout. The lady scanned it with a scanner stick thing, printed out our bill, and asked us to pay upfront at the counter.

Yelp
This was truly a great experience from beginning to end. We came around lunch time and there was a long line. The line was very organized, with chairs snaking all the way around a few corners in a line so everyone is waiting in order with seats. The line moved quickly. When you sit down, you can make your own tea with matcha powder at your table and a personal hot water tap. Being entirely self-serve, you grab plates as they pass by, with the price of the plate denoted by the plate's color and pattern. You can also special order off the menu with an order form and the order will be sent to your table via a mechanical "train" that loops around the restaurant. At the end of your meal, flag down a server to instantly calculate your check with a scanner that scans all your plates. You pay your check at the front. The entire experience was very smooth and the food was great for the very reasonable price. The two of us left super full for less than 4,000 yen.

Yelp
Being in Japan for the first time, one of my initial challenges were finding a great sushi restaurant. But how do you even begin? It's almost like trying to find a great steakhouse in the US, there's plenty far and between and most will likely taste decent but how do you find one that's priced right and is delicious? I can say that Katsumidori Sushi is absolutely excellent quality sushi for an affordable price. It's conveyor belt sushi and each seat has an iPad that you can order & the chef will bring it to you in a blink of an eye. My two favorite is the otoro (premium fatty tuna belly) and uni (sea urchin). And the price for each piece? Only about 250-300 yen each. A STEAL! I must have had over 10 pieces of each because you won't find this quality and price anywhere else! Between my wife and I, the price came out to 6500 yen (or about $65 USD), take my money!!!

Yelp
Pretty big sushi place in a mall. You get a free beer or soup when you sit down which is a nice touch. Its a fun experience watching everything go around the belt and seeing the sushi chef make the food in front of you. A great place to go if you want sushi but also are down for some chicken nuggets and fries that come on the belt. It was pretty cool to see the variety. Also complementary green tea powder at the table with a hot water dispenser. Cool spot, but I wasn't really feeling it when I was there, I may have been sushi'ed out cause it was the last sushi spot we hit.

Yelp
So much goodness here! And if you see locals partaking, then you know it's good. You can pull any plate you want off the conveyor belt or order special and traditional rolls from the sushi chef in front of you. You'll find traditional rolls like fatty tuna and new inventions like grilled corn sushi (which was super tasty). Even though the plates are reasonably priced, the fish is super fresh. Pay attention to the color and design on your plate as they indicate the cost of your chosen dish. You can also find fruit and drink floating around the conveyor belt. If you see something you want, grab it since it can take a while to come back around or it might be gone by the time it comes around. Get there early since people line up to get a seat as soon as they open. Since they open at 11, we got there at 10:30 to stand in line and were able to get a seat as soon as they opened, and that was on a Sunday.

Yelp
Dining experience on 7/31/2019: On a recent trip to Japan, trying their sushi was a must on my list. There are so many restaurants that offer sushi, but going to a Kaiten Sushi (which means conveyor belt) restaurant was even more exciting because most offer self ordering at your table using a kiosk and then the food is quickly delivered to your table by a speedy bullet train. A pretty cool experience! This place was amazing! The fish was fresh, the bullet train delivery was a cool experience, and each table had a spigot for hot water to make your own green tea. Everything was so fresh that it melted in your mouth. The uni was the best I had ever had. I highly recommended experiencing Kaiten Sushi if you are visiting Japan!!

Yelp
Located in the Seibu department store, which is right off of Shibuya station. Conveyor belt sushi chain that has good quality sushi at an affordable price. A piece of premium uni is less than $2.50! Get there as they open if you don't like to wait long. There's almost always a queue at this place. Sit at the bar and order with a chef or at a table with an iPad. Service is always friendly and they're very welcoming of foreigners.

Yelp
As my first sushi meal in Tokyo, I had high hopes for this spot. It's located on top of a department store (if you're confused at how to get in), and there tends to be a bit of a line to get in. The staff is pretty accomodating, and makes the waiting as painless as possible. You can either take sushi straight from the conveyer belt or order your own pieces on paper. The menu is insane - there are maybe 300 types of sushi and variants. I've had sushi a fair amount of times in my life, but definitely suffered from choice paralysis. I would stick towards ordering off the menu, as the good pieces on the conveyer belt tend to be snatched up quickly. It's also easier to keep track of the price, as the menu is organized by price. There's english on the menu, and many of the workers/chefs can speak English (look at the badge on their uniforms), which make this restaurant pretty foreigner friendly. Some other tips: sake is pretty cheap here (around 600 yen for a small bottle), and don't be too hasty with ordering! The prices add up after a while and you don't want to end up forcing yourself to eat some random fish because you ordered it when you were incredibly hungry (speaking from experience).

Yelp
Ok this place is reasonably priced and so fresh!!! I stumbled upon here and so glad we did! You order on tablets and there is English! I love how they have hot water spouts where you can refill your green tea~

Yelp
Katsu Seibu Shibuya, located on the 8th floor of Seibu Department Store, is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. It is an extremely simple, efficient, and fun process. Grab what you want from the conveyor belt, or order from the tablet. Items ordered from the tablet will be delivered to your table via the cute little bullet train. Eat. Enjoy. Pay per plate. The wait time for a table may be long, but it is worth it for the great food and experience. The food is fresh and tasty, and the portion sizes are rather generous. The fish is sliced into thick pieces and melts like butter on your tongue. Best of all, the prices are reasonable. My sister and I were moderately hungry when we had dinner here, and our total for the food only came out to around $30 USD total. The restaurant is tourist-friendly. There are multilingual staff members, and their name badges list the languages they speak, but do not expect much interaction with them since the self-service is extremely efficient. The conveyor belt has plenty of food on it, and the train arrives pretty quickly. Also, the table has a hot water dispenser and matcha powder for you to make your own tea. Make sure to stack your plates. Once you have finished your meal and are ready for your check, flag down a server. The server will scan your stack with a scanner that will also print out your check. Take your check to the front. Pay. Leave. There are plenty of sushi places in Tokyo, but Katsu Seibu Shibuya knows how to make itself stand out. The food is delicious and affordable, and the self-service system makes for a tourist-friendly and memorable experience. Go here to cross conveyor belt sushi off your bucket list.

Yelp
Okay sushi set in a modern mall in the 8th floor. It's a conveyor belt style sushi but it seemed the chefs couldn't keep up with the demand because these conveyor belt was empty a lot. You can order any item you want from the iPad at your table and they have it pretty fast for you. But when you go to experience a conveyor belt restaurant, well that's what you expect. The stand out items were the Uni. They serve 2 types, reg quality and a higher quality. Both were great. All other items were just okay. Being an okay sushi restaurant with a lot of hype in Tokyo can only get you a touristy clientele, which I saw is the case here.

Yelp
Located in the Seibu department store on the 8th floor walking distance from Shibuya Crossing/ Shibuya Station. Do not be alarmed when you find the restaurant because there will be a line around the corner. The wait is worth it and the line goes pretty quick. Do not let the fact this is conveyer belt sushi throw you off because it is delicious. When you are seated you have the option to grab sushi from the conveyer belt or order directly from the chef. Each plate represents a price point. The ledger is on the wall so it is very easy to figure out cost of each item. The price is very reasonable and cheaper than anything I have paid for in the states and a better quality. The sushi is amazing. It is so fresh and each piece melts in you mouth. From the fatty tuna, salmon and regular tuna... all of it is masterful. I am not sure how the sushi is from the conveyer belt because I only ordered fresh from the chef. Sitting at the conveyer belt, watching the chefs, they prepare the sushi and put fresh pieces on it often. The waiters are friendly and the chefs are fast. During my trip in Tokyo I ate here twice so it is safe to say I recommend this place.

Yelp
Awesome friendly service. One of the best places to savour fresh and tasty dishes. Ain't nothing close to this back home here in the GTA. It's fairly priced and the food comes out just like that after you confirm your requested orders on the tablet provided for you at your table to order with. Just be prepared to wait to be seated during the busy times. We probably waited for about 45 minutes and being in Shibuya, this certainly is a hot spot for tourists!

Yelp
This is my favorite conveyor sushi belt spot in Tokyo. I've tried so many and this chain is my favorite by far. The sushi here is really fresh. You can tell by the long lines that are filled with locals that this place is legit. It's not all just tourists that come here, locals do too. I've had the Ikebukuro location and this one too. I didn't like this location as much since this one is a bit smaller, plus there's not as much room for people to wait on line. That said, that didn't affect the food. The food here is awesome. Definitely get the ikura dish where they pour a mound of it on your plate. It's a lot of fun. I really like the ipad where you can order from the machine. The servers here are also really friendly and they all speak English if you don't understand something on the menu. If you're looking for some inexpensive sushi, definitely give this place a shot, but come during nonpeak time or expect a long long wait. I came about 30 minutes before closing once and I still had a really long wait.

Yelp
So surprised at the quality. Uneven fish thickness, yellowtail was brown, tuna had blood throughout. We didn't eat it. So deceiving

Yelp
I highly recommend this conveyor belt sushi restaurant, especially if you are travelling to Tokyo for the first time; it's foreigner friendly, with English instructions for ordering, and the price is very reasonable for the high quality sushi! On our first night into town, we stopped by another popular sushi place but the line up was unbelievable. Funny thing is the line up for this place was long too, but we didn't realize the line snaked around 4 walls. Inevitably, most of the popular places have line ups, it's something you get used to, travelling in Japan. The lines move quickly though, as its the norm to leave promptly after eating. I really enjoyed the sushi here, and the selection. The quality was great and the price was very reasonable too! We ate to our hearts content with the conveyor belt variety and orders from the menu for a price of ~50-60$ US.Out of the whole trip, this was my favorite sushi restaurant! Chances are you might end up sitting beside people who know some English, as was our experience in this restaurant, and in Tokyo. A friendly Japanese couple beside us, pointed things out to us to help us navigate making our own green tea, and ordering from the right form- when we proceeded to do it wrong. The servers also seemed to understand some basic English to take our order.
