On Saturday, a total of 17 people from our disability support group dined at this restaurant. Points for Improvement I may come across as a fussy woman for saying this, but one of the waiting staff members, though I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, seemed rather unfriendly, which made us feel somewhat unwelcome. No smile was on her face. Our reservation was at 11:30, and the restaurant wasn’t very busy at that time. There appeared to be three or four waiting staff members, some of whom were chatting among themselves, so it seemed they weren’t too busy. Some of our group members use a walker, and they often struggle with opening and closing the door to a regular restroom. We only discovered the accessible toilet located between the dining area and the accommodation section when we were leaving after our meal. Since we had entered from the dining side, we didn’t notice it earlier. It would have been helpful if the waiting staff had informed us about the accessible toilet, especially since they seemed to have time to do so. Also, if smaller portion options were available at a lower price, that would be perfect. Positive Points There was enough space around the table to park walkers. The food was served promptly. The size and quality of the meals were appropriate for the price. Thank you very much.

We held our wedding reception at Mawson Lakes Hotel, and we couldn't have picked a better place, it was our absolute dream day! A huge and heartfelt thank you goes to Richard, who was instrumental in making our wedding reception at Mawson Lakes Hotel an absolute success. From our first enquiry right through to the end of the night, Richard was amazing. He truly embodied professionalism and dedication, consistently bending over backwards to ensure every single detail we requested was perfect. His incredible attention to detail is what made the difference between a good wedding and what turned out to be our dream and smooth day. The planning process, which could have been stressful, felt seamless and well-managed under his guidance. We are so incredibly happy we chose Mawson Lakes, and we are especially grateful for his personal effort and commitment. We would highly recommend him to any couple planning their wedding! On the night, the aesthetic and atmosphere were beyond fantastic. The setup, decor, and overall vibe looked incredible, and the team ensured the execution was flawless according to this very picky bride's vision. Our guests are still raving about how delicious the food was; seriously, top marks to the chef and the entire kitchen staff! The value for money provided was outstanding considering the quality of service, food, and setting. The entire staff team was lovely and professional throughout the night which left ourselves and the guests with the greatest memories. We'd give Mawson Lakes Hotel, Richard and the entire team a resounding 10/10 and are so happy we chose them for our celebration! 💖🥂

I had the pleasure of attending Andrew and Tamara Crisp's wedding last Saturday. What an absolutely outstanding event. From the layout, to the service to the lovely, hardworking staff. Speaking of staff, I want to make particular mention of your Function's Organiser, Richard. Our whole table, and certainly other guests I spoke to at the wedding, were absolutely 'blown away' by how incredible Richard was. I have never known a Function's Organiser to oversee the whole evening from start to finish. And the finish was very late. I am 63 years of age and have been to many, many, weddings over the years in the city and country as well as interstate. Richard, without a doubt, went above and beyond. He was everywhere helping everyone but was discreet about it. The whole event was seamless thanks to him and his team. The room was beautifully decorated. It felt like a romantic fairyland. Richard's vibrant, friendly, and willingness to do whatever was required, whether that was assisting with filling table water, to looking after the bride and groom, ensuing they came back to their table while their meals were hot, too operating the dry ice machine, to assisting guests, absolutely nothing was too much trouble for him. He kept up that level of energy for the whole evening. Then I find out he has been doing this for 17 years! Amazing. He clearly loves his job and is so dedicated and loyal and injects an incredible amount of fun into a wedding. I have never had so much fun at a wedding. Congratulations Management of the Mawson Lakes Hotel. Richard is an absolute asset. I know if I hear of anyone getting married I would mention MLH and especially mentioning what they would get in Richard and that is so reassuring to any excited and nervous brides and grooms to be. Well done MLH you clearly know how to hire terrific staff.

Dinner was delicious. We started with the garlic bread which was outstanding. I had the T-bone steak, it was cooked perfectly, garlic prawn sauce was flawless. My wife had the chicken breast which was succulent and full of flavour. We both had dessert which was to die for. The atmosphere was layed back. Service was exceptional, the staff are friendly and the food came out quickly. Also the cocktail menu has plenty to choose from. 100% will be back.

Our second visit in a month. This second time far out did the first on standard of service. Thank you to all staff on duty Friday lunchtime on 26th September. The meal was delicious and serving size was generous and timely. Two of our group hadn’t dined at the hotel for some years and were very impressed with the improved standard of service and food since their last visit. This hotel is fast becoming one of our favourites.

5 stars for the Staff and Service. We are fairly frequent visitors to the Dining Room, but on this occasion 2 stars for the meals :( We had 1 serve of Squid Schnitzel - the crumbs were not very pleasant tasting and the Squid was like rubber, and 1 serve of Fish & Chips (2 pieces) - the fish was OK but the best part of the meal were the chips! excellent crispy, golden and lightly salted!

Second stay here and we like it for a few reasons. Location, atmosphere, outdoor walking and scenery, Cafes. The accommodation is definitely comfortable and value for money. BUT.... It does get a little noisy with the function centre, The room was a little stuffy and smelly on arrival but just cracked open the window. The Bistro is fabulous with excellent meals at excellent prices.

Very strange set up where the reception is a different building down the road to the accommodation. The apartments had a terrible layout! There are stairs from the apartment door that lead up to the living area and bedrooms. There was only 1 shared walk through bathroom connecting the 2 bedrooms. Awful design. Crappy furniture and tiny living area. Tiny shower with poor water taps. Poor presentation (see photos). On top of this there is was an off smell. I think 2 stars is very generous.

Yelp
All the basics covered Walking distance supermarket Aldi & Woolworths. Lake & parks next door for walking. Friendly & helpful staff. Free parking. Nearby restaurants & cafe for food and coffee. Good air conditioning for hot summers day up to 36 degrees. Next door to Uni SA campus. Nearby 24 hour petrol station and diner. Open on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Yelp
Yeah, this pub is pretty tacky, but then again it was built in a reasonably new housing development (though it really doesn't seem to be all that new these days). Honestly, there really didn't seem to be all that much charm about this place, just crammed into a rather non-descript building. There really isn't a beer garden here as well. However, it does have a craft beer on tap, so I'll give it some credit for that.

Yelp
Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in October and it was an average experience. Rooms are large and very spacious although a little dated. Rooms still have a physical metal key in 2015??? Wifi was available but the proxy payment gateway plays havoc with work VPN software so beware. Mini bar was well stocked but extremely expensive so its better to walk one block to the Woolworths. The breakfast buffet was very ordinary but I suppose it was edible. One interesting thing is the bar - it is open quite late and the clientele it attracts is extremely diverse! .

Yelp
Another Christmas Function - Tickets were $90 for buffet dinner, drinks and entertainment. So glad the social club paid as it wasn't really worth it. The room was large but sparsely decorated. A very enthusiastic waitress asked us to all be polite and wait til our table was called before we headed to the buffet. This seemed reasonable until we realised we were the last table. The first table was on to desserts by the time we were able to sample from the 4 salads, empty bainmarie of vegetables and 3 kinds of miscellaneous meats. Because we were the last table, by the time the boys headed back for seconds the buffet was shut down - so much for 'unlimited buffet'. By the time I was ready for dessert it too had disappeared. Which I was okay with considering it didn't look overly appealing. The saving grace was the beer. The wonderful wonderful beer that miraculously kept appearing in jugs on our tables. But I still don't think I drank enough of it to justify the price of the tickets. The band was advertised as 'Blues Brothers and Sisters of Soul' which sounds pretty good, but which actually sounded pretty crap. I'm really not sure when Ricky Martin and Mambo Number 5 were considered blues or soul - but they certainly got the drunk chicks dancing. However, for those who had not ingested enough beer to justify tears in the toilets, it just made the room waaaaaay to loud. I was hoarse the next day from yelling at the person next to me (poor bugger!). And there was just no where to escape it. A lot of the older staff left quite early on and even though the event finished at midnight the place was pretty much empty (except for the crying/dancing drunk chicks) by 11.

Yelp
Room is hot, young female staff not friendly .. meal sent back stone cold .. Instead of just fixing go the issue . There was judgement and dirty looks . Then I ashes for a napkin, which was obviously offensive to the staff .. burger ok when I got it ..

Yelp
The Mawson Lakes Hotel considers itself to be an upmarket hotel. The hotel itself isn't very old and still has that new feeling to it. With that being said it has recently been upgraded, so you would assume they're doing rather well for themselves. Downstairs you have your obligatory pokie lounge, the sports bar, the restaurant and the main bar where you can get a "pub meal". Upstairs is where functions and events are held, and even this section hosts its own bar. Every morning the restaurant has its special Mawson Breakfast. Here you can choose to either have just cereal or the full complement of bacon, eggs, tomato, hash browns, mushrooms etc. Quite frankly I was disappointed with the breakfast. It's way too expensive for what it offers, and the quality of the food is below par. At dinner time it's a different story. While being a little more pricey than a lot of other hotels, the food is quite good and well above your standard hotel meal. Even the pub meals are a cut above, and this is why people don't mind paying the higher prices. The rest of the hotel is pretty standard. The pokie room offers some perks like drinks and food. The sports bar is what you would expect: A room full of TVs with various sports on them and a whole lot of beer and the function room is functional (see what I did there?) Really the restaurant is what separates the Mawson Lakes Hotel from other similar venues. Just avoid going at breakfast...

Yelp
The Mawson Lakes Hotel has always been fairly good when it comes to value for food and service, sadly my latest visit did not live up to previous experiences. On the latest visit one of our meals was completely forgotten, we asked the staff after a few minutes of all the other meals arriving and they were going to look into it for us, they never got back to us, we ended up heading back up to the counter and asking for a refund as by that stage everyone else at the table had finished their meals. The refund was provided without much fuss which was nice to see but we were then still offered the meal in a take-away container. The Mawson Lakes Hotel recovered with that gesture which was nice, we accepted the offer however the person who missed out on the meal was not hungry after the experience so we gave it to one of our guests for their son. Otherwise the Mawson Lakes Hotel lived up to the rest of our expectations however I can't say we will be hurrying back, we have before had to follow up on a meal but it did arrive shortly after.

Yelp
The hotel is a huge space would be good for conferences etc. however the only thing i would recommend on the menu is the shnitty. On a side note do not go here if you are gluten free they messed up our friends order and caused a reaction. If you want a $18 shnitty thats a solid 3 stars here you go

Yelp
Came here to dinner and the meals were great, the whole family were happy with theirs. The pine nut and pumpkin risotto is so delicious. Big servings though. They have all the usual pub food with a few added specialties. There's lots of seating but it's not too cramped. The veggie bar is nice but not a lot of choice. They also have a nice pub area for having w beer and watching sport or gambling. Nice local pub. Wouldn't recommend you stay in the hotel accommodation those that. We stayed he a while ago and our experience was terrible. Recommend looking at the reviews on Trip Adviser.

Yelp
I like Mawson Lakes, it's a good location, nice and close to the city, perfect base for seeing Adelaide. This hotel is good for both food and accommodation. The rooms are modern and fresh, and reasonably priced, and look pretty new. I have stayed in both studio and double room apartments, and both were great. The hotel serve your usual pub food in a relaxed, yet stylish atmosphere. It gets pretty busy, so worth booking for a group. Also worth noting the supermarket at Mawson Lakes closes early (8pm).

Yelp
My partner and I stayed in the hotel and we also stayed in the apartments and I have nothing but good reviews about it very clean and beautiful bathroom private parking in the apartments and the prices are pretty good living in the north there isn't many nice hotels to stay unless you want to travel to the city so having the Mawson lakes hotel close by is a nice stay away from home I'll be heading back in September and looking forward to it

Yelp
Typical barn atmosphere.Monday night so the pressure was not on... Ordered Seafood platter & grilled fish with chips. Where do I begin... We were absolutely disgusted by the meals. Chips were lukewarm and limp, seafood was tasteless and rubbery as if it was twice refried. The grilled fish was so minuscule & unappealing you had an impression it was zapped in a microwave rather than grilled ! Total insult to your eyes and tastebuds. We were offered hot plate of chips upon our complaint. Perhaps that is all we should have ordered as nothing else was worth the money. Stay away !!!!

Yelp
Constantly waiting an hour or more for food, had food orders forgotten and actual food cold at times. After all this time they need new head chef and new management. Will not return as it's happened too many times.
