Max Brown Vienna nails the “restrained maximalist” look — quirky art, great lighting, and a touch of Wes Anderson whimsy. But at €200 a night, you’d hope for a bit more function with the form: our shower came without a screen (cue the indoor flood), there were no bedside tables to rest so much as a glass of water, and room service only appeared if you knew to ask. We ended up requesting extra towels — mostly to mop up the shower’s enthusiasm.
Still, the staff were warm and genuinely helpful, which saved the day. A stylish stay, just bring a sense of humour (and maybe your own mop).
