Max Brown Midtown hotel | Düsseldorf | Smith Hotels

"Boutique bed and breakfast hotel Max Brown Midtown, part of Sircle Collection is enviably placed in Düsseldorf’s Japanese Quarter, just a skip away from the Old Town’s galleries, shops and restaurants. Inside this city stay, industrial and mid-century design features mingle; a copper-tiled ceiling floats above the cherry-hued wooden bar, and palm-print wallpaper adorns the lobby, where a pool table awaits pick-up games. Modern, white-walled rooms have Crosley record players and quirky pop-art prints. A Continental spread – with fresh gingerbread – is laid out each morning, and the bar will happily keep you hydrated with local brews until the wee hours." - Mr & Mrs Smith

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. What really stood out to me was how consistently friendly and helpful the staff was. Everyone I encountered, from the reception desk, the night manager, and the team at the breakfast buffet, was professional and welcoming. The breakfast itself was very good—fresh, tasty, and with a nice selection of options. My room was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would happily stay here again.

Really cute charming rooms! We got a large, and had plenty of space. Wish there were more outlets, but the charm made up for it. Also has a cute lobby to hang out in and have a refreshment if you like.

I stayed at the Max Brown Hotel over the weekend, I just wanted to give a mention to the lovely receptionist who checked us in on Friday afternoon (26/09) and was working again Sunday (28/09). We did not catch her name but she is an asset to the hotel! 🌟 The hotel is in a great location to explore the city - which is so walkable if you are able, we did not use any public transport during our visit. Yes, the small room is small but we were travelling only with small carry on bags. The beds are sooo comfy and did appear overall clean however only have two remarks: 1. room was overall tired with marks on the art work and the floor appeared to be water damaged (likely due to the fact you cannot shower without drenching the whole room with water) 2. On the television there are no channels in English or internet capabilities. I think upgrading to smart tvs/miracast/chromecast would accommodate most guests. The hotel bar also seemed reasonably priced however we only had soft drinks as we were leaving for the airport. Overall great location, very comfy bed and friendly staff. I'd consider staying here in the future if I ever find myself in Düsseldorf again 😄

Super nice staff, outstandingly beautiful design! However, keep in mind there's no air-conditioning and despite ceiling fan and only 16°C outside at night we found it incredibly hot in the rooms. We had no noise issues, since we were on the 4th floor, but it seems our neighboring room found us a bit noisy. One of the two beds was incredibly creaky, so I think some furnishings need some updating; other than that their soaps and shampoo were great (not so horribly drying as hotel amenities can be, and also separate, no 4-in-1 nonsense!) absolutely great location that served us well for the two nights. When you give them your luggage, they put on a label and give you a little number ticket.

Had a great stay! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from start to finish. The rooms were spotless, beautifully designed, and the beds were super comfortable. Breakfast was fresh, varied, and again served by the kindest people. A fun extra touch was the little basketball hoop and ball above the bed – I had way more fun with that than I’d like to admit. Highly recommend this place!

Great hotel, nice and cosy. Clean rooms and great location in the centre of Dusseldorf. Very nice people at the front desk. A lot of great restaurants (little tokyo)nearby and also a great cocktail bar in the same street.

A very differently designed hotel… breakfast, shower, location were great. Bathroom was clean. Would definitely book again. Bed was comfortable too.

I'll start with the positive; -The bed was very clean -The location was very central in little Tokyo and close to the tram station Then the negative; The room was VERY compact, as in, you could hardly walk past one another in the entrance, even less if you have baggage. The room is also filled with useless accessories; -An electric kettle with a cord so short it has to be plugged into a socket on the ground because it doesn't reach any other -An ill-maintained vinyl-player with 2 vinyls -A TV mounted to a wall in a way so you can only watch it at a weird angle from bed, which has only cable with 20 channels and no internet capabilities -Weird art hanged on the wall -Many too hard pillows -Construction sounds in the morning from outside -Bad view onto buildings And while we were explicitly told that the bar would be open till 11pm, we waited down there from 9-9:15pm without seeing anyone before leaving Not worth the price with the lacking rooms and service, just decent enough for the central location to spend the night and leave
