I ordered a burger set using the student discount, and the cost-effectiveness was quite obvious. The French fries in the set were a bit crispy; I personally prefer them softer, which was a slight letdown. The burger was just average—no particularly amazing highlights, but it still met the basic standard for fast food. What was quite pleasant was the wide variety of drink options, allowing flexible choices based on personal taste. Overall, it’s a suitable pick for daily fast food, especially ideal for students who seek convenience and cost-effectiveness.

There were 7 of us who ordered from here and there were high praises for the food. The sweet potato chips were good and the lettuce was the freshest I've ever seen at a fast food place. I was impressed by that...especially as I had the no bun burger! There were MANY veggo options which was impressive! The only downside was that the chips were cold and not so good. There was lots of seating areas and many screen to order on. Toilets are inside and the rubbish is sorted. Close to the train station and easy access. A good fast food experience.

A branch of the Swedish fast food located not far from the main station. I tried their current offering, a jalapeño burger on the menu with fries and a drink. The burger was big enough, tasted very good, the meat tasted like it had been grilled and overall it looked pretty fresh. The burger itself is fast food above average. However, the rating is slightly lowered by the fries, which I didn't find so good. Otherwise, the branch is quite busy, the disadvantage is the only - so always occupied - toilet.

Good alternative to Mc Donald’s. This is the first time I am having Max burgers and I personally find it decent and slightly better than Mc Donald’s especially the burger buns are softer and better. The prices are also reasonable.

Upon arriving into Central Station late Sunday night after 11:00pm, made it to the Hobo Hotel and then walked over to Max Burger for a midnight snack. Once inside the fellows behind the counter started chiming in between themselves laughing “Neee-Haau, bee-haau!” Which obviously was about me since I’m the only one present that was Asian. Well I did enjoy the Nacho Chicken Burger. Very juicy and tender chicken filet. And tasty too eating there seated with the variety of late-night diners inside the place. The beverage dispenser area was filled with small bugs. And the guys behind the counter couldn’t work without playing their own music, cranking in the volume louder over what was playing already inside the restaurant … seemed pretty lively nonetheless watching them horse-around whenever it wasn’t busy. It’s an inexpensive way to have a burger. Yet the workers do abuse their privilege of working there. Why do they need to goad or harass the customers who go there? They don’t even own the place and are only hourly employees making fun of the customers. Not sure I would recommend it as a visitor on a short stay. But the burgers are not bad compared to McDonald’s down the street.

Needed two attempts to actually be able to order food here. First time I tried all the tablets for ordering had crashed, some of them stuck in a loading screen and some actually showing the Windows BSoD. Didn't know at the time you could order via QR code online. Food absolutely stellar, staff friendly and fast. The atmosphere of an old soviet hospital - fantastic. Chicken nuggets better than at McDonalds.

Max Burger is a fast food chain similar to McDonald's. The burger tasted really good. This restaurant was quite dirty and a lot of the seats had a mess on them. This location has a free toilet, which is always a plus. There were plenty of kiosk to place your order and the food was prepared very quickly.

Very tired from traveling over 20 hours. Needed a quick something. Stopped to try MAX a fast food place. Most Swedes speak English and are nice and helpful. The kiosk did not have English. I got a far as ordering and couldn't figure out how to pay. We went to the order desk and placed the order. While the photo doesn't look appetizing the chicken was pretty tasty.

Decidedly ok. Lots of choices, salads as well. Order at the flat screens. Pick up at the counter. You really don't need to have any human interaction at all. My sweet potato fries were the best thing of my meal, though they were a bit overcooked.

TL;DR: Lots of fake meat substitutes and alternatives (Seitan/Halloumi). So we don't have Max in the U.S., and we should. I've only been a vegetarian for a few years, and I've missed trashy fast-food! This place had plenty of nasty, beautiful alternatives for a late night craving. (I know this is a chain, so I'm not making a statement that this location is any better than any other... )

This is basically the Mc Donald's of Sweden. The are open late night and you order on a machine. Remember the portions are smaller if your an American. We order the cheese burger, fries with cheese, jalapeños and onions. Plus a spicy chicken sandwich with ranch dip. They have so many dip options. The spicy ketchup was a win. We also order a sundae.

I guess this is the definition of American fast food in Europe. Basically think McDonald's with a larger selection of items. It appears that every store has a fully self service model of ordering from touch screen computers and the only staff to be found is working in the kitchen and pushing food to a nondescript counter. I will admit and I'm not ashamed to the fact that of all the food options that I could have in a beautiful city like Stockholm I did choose fast food, but not for any other reason but to say that I did. And with my choices come consequences of at least 2 maybe 3 hours of stomach distress as I boarded a 9 and a 1/2 hour intercontinental trans Atlantic flight. It was fun to make the choice, it was fun to experience what Europeans think Americans eat like, and it was fun to say I did it, but other than that it was no fun at all. And as a small note after spending 10 days traveling all through Italy it was only in this restaurant, nay in this fast food outlet, did I experience any individual attempting to rob me of my goods by coming to my table trying to distract me and trying to steal my cell phone. I am happy to say that the only loss than I had leaving that restaurant was my appetite for fast food ever again.

Saying this aside from my review: there are lots of stragglers that come and go from this location so be weary! I was not so lucky and had some stuff taken after walking a couple steps to get napkins. Didn't expect this to happen, but my fault for not being more careful. Aside from that, still avoid this place. It was extremely dirty- trash was piled to the brim, tables not cleaned, and bathrooms were plain yuck. Our cabbie had told us that Max's is "100x better than McDonalds." Alas, it was not. If you're a fan of soggy burgers with stale fries, then this place is your heaven. While I thought the McDonalds comparison was a pure travesty before eating there, I went with an open mind and left with the thought that McDonald's reigns the king of fast food burgers. As my first Swedish fast food experience, I was far from impressed. Aside from the food, if you are visiting, please be careful!

Max, Sweden's most popular hamburger chain, has a lot going for it. Namely, strawberry milkshakes with big pieces of real fruit and many dipping choices for your fries (including my positively pedestrian favourite: spicy nacho cheese sauce). This city outpost is large and well-maintained and served as a good spot to catch up with a friend (read: we were easily able to talk at length without interruption). Whilst Max's burgers don't hold a candle to my top picks, I still really like the place and am always happy to visit when I'm in Sweden. I remain curious about Max's other offerings, though the strange looking bean salad is not among them.

What the hell did I just eat? I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and this burger had the weirdest texture ever. There is something wrong with the meat or in the way they prepare it. Not much flavor, odd texture and it doesn't taste fresh when you bite into it. The fries were okay but had to dump salt and pepper all over it so I could taste something. They ran out of ketchup so that didn't help matters. My friend also got the same burger and had similar remarks. He finished his but I could not. My other friend got a chicken sandwich and didn't have any complaints. McDonalds is barely above this, Burger King is superior to both and In N Out? Who the hell compared this to In N Out? That is extremely insulting and most likely coming from the owners themselves or someone with zero tastebuds. Don't ever put Max and In N Out in the same sentence again.

After seeing one of their very busy locations at the Stockholm airport and reading up on it a bit, my colleague and I learned that Max is a staple fast food chain in Sweden that out-performs McDonald's which made it enticing to try. We ordered the triple cheese burger and some mozz sticks at the self-service kiosk and then waited for our food to come out. The wait wasn't too long, but their system is weird. Our number was on the screen for a minute or so, then off the screen for a few minutes, and then they called our number. What? Whatever. The mozz sticks were deep fried in what tasted like a wonton wrapper and was extremely oily and tasted pretty weird. The burger... the cheese was runny like ranch dressing and the flavor of the meat was pretty gross. I don't like McDonald's, but I would have preferred a Big Mac to whatever that cheeseburger was any day hands down! Hopefully I come back to Sweden, but I won't be eating at Max if I do!

First time eatting at MAX ever and it was worth the money and tasty. I have been to several places around Sweden on my trip and this has been the place so far. Other than my gf's mother's cooking. The prices were reasonible and the atmosphere was relaxing. I got a regular burger w/onion rings. The onion rings were fantastic. Light and airy with hardly any oil. The burger was okay but can't expect much from fast food. I also stole some of my gf's fries and they were also pretty tasty. The nuggets were good and not greasy as well. In all the place was good and worth it.

Awesome fast food near Arlanda Express exit and central station. It has plenty of seating and free fast wifi. Love the filet fish burger and chicken wings. The strawberry luxe milkshake has pieces of fruits inside. It cost around 200 Swedish kr which is around $30 USD (sort of pricey for 2 people for fast food). Nevertheless, it was tasty and enjoyable.

In the city center, they have many tables to sit, many automatic machines where you can order in english and the service is extremely quick. Max has a better meat quality than the other fast food. Good variety in general, you can find everything. For a meal with medium size potatoes, big cheeseburger with bacon and a drink is about 75kr.

We order 2 VG sandwiches ( Mexican , Bbq) and chicken burger sandwich. Bbq was so spicy. We wait 20 min to have our order. Although There were express machine to order by your self, and many people working in the kitchen, it was so crowded. I rate Cleanness of place 3/5 . Personally, I will not come here again.

Came here because the team was on a time constraint and we had limited connection to the wifi to look up anything. Apparently, this place is a famous fast food place and I can see how it is. The staff was REALLY nice and helped me order the chicken sandwich which was good and affordable. The only reason why this place lost a star is because they "forgot" about my order because of miscommunication and when it did come out, it was a bit pink in the middle of the chicken sandwich. Otherwise, the team loved their food so I guess it was just a mess up on their part for my order.

Stayed at the Nordic C which housed the world's 1st 'ice bar' and was steps away from the Arlanda Express. It was midsummer '15 in Stockholm, after walking around the closed shops of Gamla Stam, I stopped at this Max to have one of the tastiest burgers. It reminded me of a fancy Febo's. Would like to go ARN again one day. That train ride on the Arlanda Express was 1/4 of the price of my Norwegian Flight from OAK to ARN.

One of the things that surprised me about my visit to Europe were the things I saw that I figured the U.S. would already be using. Like the self ordering kiosks at Max. It was late, and we just wanted a quick bite. Max was nearby the hotel, so we decided to check it out. The place was deserted except for a few employees at the counter on the other side of the restaurant and the express ordering kiosks. It kind of reminded me of an old sci fi movie. "Welcome to...THE FUTURE!" We stepped up and placed our order. Ordering was simple enough. Select the English option, look at the pictures of the food and make our selections. I think we decided to try like 14 different sauces. Why not, right? After placing our order, we waited silently for the screen to display our number, which really added to the sci fi vibe. Eventually, our order came up. I grabbed the bag and looked inside. The burger was missing. fortunately, we caught it early and the employee grabbed it. Back in our room, we dug in. The fries were good. I prefer the shoestring size, which is close to what Max does. Everything else was okay. My wife recommends the cheese sauce. Max is good for visitors to try once. Otherwise, you can wait for fully automated restaurants.

I'm not a fast food kinda girl, nor am I a burger kinda girl, so when my friend suggested that we try the local hamburger chain, i was quite indifferent to the suggestion. Upon arrival, the line for this location is out the door (it's in the central of stockholm, so I guess that's expected). We ordered the bacon and cheese deluxe combo with hot fries, and original combo with onion rings and i must say that i was not only impressed, but i ate more than I really should have eaten. The hamburger patties reminds me of those of in-n-out. It's a bit on the thin side, but very tasty. But it isn't the burgers that really stole the show for me, but their sides. The fries were fantastic on their own, but to make it even better, they added cheese, sour cream, red onions, and real bacon bits. Holy crap. I could not stop eating it. The onion rings were great too, especially good if you put them in your burger. They also have dipping sauce that can be purchased with 6 SEK - i'm pretty sure if i got the dipping sauce, i'd be a walking tub of french fries lard. Keep in mind, I almost never eat fries!

Arrived Stockholm at late night and found this burger place still opened, so we decided to go in and grabbed something to eat. It was about 10ish pm, there were still lots of young people eating at that place. We ordered two burgers, cheese fries and a strawberry milkshake from the kiosks and picked up the food from the counter. I didn't expect the place to be super clean since it's a fast food restaurant, but the food were actually better than I expected, especially the burger patty. I didn't try the food from McDonald's and BK in Sweden, so I can't really compare the taste and the quality of the food, but they are definitely better than the ones in McDonald's and BK in the US.

Honestly, I liked this more than what American fast food chains had to offer. The touchscreen order kiosks are all in Swedish but if you have half a brain it's really not hard to figure out what the buttons on the screen indicate. so ordering was a breeze. Service was extremely fast and once we got our number from the kiosk it was only minutes until our number was called at the counter. (They also have a TV screen with a row of numbers indicating who will be called next.) The food itself was pretty delicious and not very expensive. For $11 I got a chicken burger, mozzarella sticks, fries, and a vanilla shake. It was pretty good!

This place is a gem. Definitely up there with in-n-out and other American institutions. Their special sauce is unreal.

Max is a fast food restaurant, but it is much better than McDonald's or Burger King. The burgers are assembled when they are ordered, and the potatoes are natural. This restaurant has a choice of Gluten Free, Allergies, and Vegetarian meals and burgers. Max often offers a play area and a drive-thru (when on the road) As well as breakfast meals, and desserts. Max may not have Happy Meals, but I find it so much more clean, delicious, and attractive (not only because of the marketing.) than McDonalds or any other fast food place. I recommend this restaurant strongly!

Okay, so I know this is fast food, and it's probably pretty generic if you live in Sweden (I don't, so I have no idea). BUT they offer so many vegan/vegetarian options that I have to give it 4 stars! I love that they do that. As far as prices go, Max is standard when it comes to fast food. If you're looking for a quick, inexpensive meal, this is the place to go. Also, Max offers the typical fast food options: burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches, milkshakes. But they also offer vegan/vegetarian patties, as well as fish options. You can sub out anything on their ordering kiosks, so we ended up taking a ton of time doing that (I'm sure to the annoyance of other customers). We got their special fries (can't remember what they're called) that were smothered in some sauce and toppings. Not too bad. The ice cream was delicious. And my burger patty was pretty damn good. Overall, not a bad choice when it comes to fast food.

I paid $11.48 for a triple cheese burger combo with the green garlic dipping sauce and fries. Burger tasted good, great dressing and not too greasy. Definitely one of the better priced meals in Stockholm I had. It is an expensive city, and a cup of coffee with a cinnamon bun at a good cafe costs exactly as much. My roommates and I liked this place a lot, so we head back here for dinner the next day again. For a city like Stockholm this was a pretty good deal :)

Max is a Swedish institution. Some of the best burgers around. They have a great selection for vegetarians and even a vegan option. If you don't speak Swedish you can just use the express machine (there is an option to change the place your order and then pick up your order when it displays on the screen near the pickup counter. Okay, but back to the food. I had the vegan burger, it is seriously amazing. Add extra jalapeños and it is taken to another level. I've heard the the Frisco burger is the best option for meat-eaters. Max's french fries and thin and crispy and seasoned well, honestly they don't even need ketchup. Refills on drinks are extra but they are so most places in Stockholm. For fast food hamburgers, do yourself a favor and skip McDonald's and Burger King and go to Max instead.

After watching our US Dollar get gouged by prices in Swedish Kroner, we wanted something on the cheaper side for dinner. Foursquared "burger" and this was the closest place to our location. They have cool touchscreen ordering kiosks set up by the front - something I'm not sure would work so well in the US, but it did just fine here in Stockholm. If you order through the kiosk, you get to pick up your order through the "express" area. If you don't want to go through the tapping, you can stand in a normal line. They seemed to go quickly. Foreigner tip: If you use the machines, on the Payment page, press the orange button to get to the next "stick your credit card in slot" page. Then, put in your card. If you put your card in before tapping to advance to the credit card page, it will fail. The food: The burger was unremarkable. A few 4sq reviews were touting it as Stockholm's version of In & Out from here in the States. IT WAS NOT!!!... by far. I was more reminded of BK/McD than anything else; flat.. squishy bun.. the meat was OK, but I think there was only one or two pieces of lettuce and that was it. For the remainder of what I remember as a ~$15 USD combo, I hoped the "hot creole fries" would amp up the value. But alas they did not. Creole apparently translates to something like fries topped with thousand island dressing with nacho cheese and a couple of pickled jalapenos (from a can or jar). If I were drunk, I imagine this would be fabulous...

this one took two months to fix their chrometab that said "you are ready to pick up your order" and one time it took me 3 hours to get a burger and i forgot to just leave. it was about 2 am when i left with a burger and i wasn't hungry anymore. my hostel, which was 15 minutes away, was closed and i couldn't get in, so i cried hysterically and left that too

Fun place to eat burgers in Sweden! Super clean. Cleaner than some swanky American joints, and this is just a fast food place.

One of the best chicken sandwiches I have had and my wife's burger was quite tasty as well. My cashier didnt speak Swedish or English too well and I was just learning Swedish but we were able to understand each other after much pointing at the menu. All good though :)

Very good fast food dinner with my family after we walked out of Jenson's Bofhus down the street after waiting a hour for our food.

Better than McDonalds, maybe even a bit better than Burger King, but it's still a crappy fast food burger chain. Go to Hötorgshallen and you will find better, larger burgers for less money.

I like MAX hamburgers more then most other hamburger places. Recommended!
