London’s Best Chinese Takeaway | The Best Chinese Restaurants in London | Eater London

"Maxim has always been well worth the trip west to Ealing, especially for old-school Pekingese dishes that aren’t found anywhere else in central London. For now, it’s the preserve of lucky west London locals. With a hefty menu spanning over hundred items, the classics, such as duck, lobster, rice and noodles, are all here, but the standout dishes are fried king prawns with egg whites and signature barbecue ribs. —AH" - Jonathan Nunn

Order the Best Takeaway Restaurant Delivery in West London | Eater London

"This neighbourhood favourite is an old-timer on Ealing’s food scene and has been around the block since 1971, so don’t think the coronavirus pandemic is stopping them from serving cracking Chinese dishes. With Mrs Chow and her family at the helm running the joint, expect a wide repertoire of generic Cantonese dishes with nods to old-school Peking cooking on Deliveroo. Find traditional fare like stir-fried king prawn in egg whites, fiery red-cooked fish slices and braised bean curd Peking-style, alongside popular classics such as shredded crispy beef and barbecued spare ribs. Went to this lovely restaurant last night to celebrate my friends birthday. What a wonderful time we had. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious. I had stir fried lamb, special fried rice and spring rolls to start. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a brilliant evening. They took group photos for our party of 10 and joined in singing happy birthday. The manager calculated my bill for me. All in all, a fantastic evening. I would go back without hesitation

Great selection of veg and non veg dishes, all well prepared and tasty. Good service, nice ambiance and reasonably priced. As regulars the owner and his wife are Al way welcoming and attentive.

We had a lovely Sunday evening meal with friends at this restaurant. The service from beginning to end was great and the staff were warm and helpful. The food was delicious, highly recommend the butterfly king prawns, crispy chilli beef, lamb lettuce wrap and crispy duck pancakes. Definitely will be coming back.

This was the 2nd time we had come to this restaurant but will be the last. Starters were ok. Main course was extremely dry. We ordered chicken in black bean sauce and chilli chicken. There was hardly any sauce on it. When we showed the manager, he told us this is the way it is supposed to be served. We have been to many, many Chinese/Vietnamese restaurants but never experienced it cooked this way. It was dry and tasteless. They did bring a separate bowl of tasteless sauce though! We also like chilli oil, but they would only serve it in a tiny bowl with only a teaspoon of it in it…. We asked for a larger bowl as we had to continuously ask for more and then have to wait a while but they refused and told us this is how they served it!!!!! This ruined it for us. Considering the bill was £227 for a table of 4 and £25 was service charges, I think their service was appalling. We will definitely not be returning.

Yelp
Worst Chinese food I've had. They use the same Peking duck sauce for chicken cashew. The vegetables are drenched in clunky unflavored sauce. Fried calamari's in spicy sweet unfathomable confusing flavor. If you want authentic edible Chinese food do not come here.

Yelp
Maxim is a very good Chinese restaurant with decent service and a decent selection on their menu. The decor is slightly dated but still a good place to hangout with friends and family.

Yelp
I have been visiting Maxim for years and it is seriously a hidden gem in West London. The food is unlike the usual Chinese cuisine in London which is often over greasy and heavy, the food here is extremely light, beautifully cooked and the service and presentation is fantastic. I highly recommend the crispy chilli beef, the king prawns with garlic and spring onion and, of course, peking duck. I recently visited this spot and ordered a pot of jasmine tea which was perfect with the meal, it aided digestion and meant that no one became too full or felt sickly after the inappropriately large meal we ate! Really recommend this to any Chinese food fans.

Yelp
This is not like any other peking chinese in London it is michelin star5 and just like hotel service. food is very nice no gelly gluey sauces. prawn crackers are served on arrival free of charge. meals are served on hot burners and food is plentiful. there are many unusual dishes and drinks are also good. there is also a bar waiting area. this place is great for celebrations or parties and has a warm atomosphere. make sure you choose crispy fried shredded beef in chilli ask for it extra hot. average cost £15 per head, parking availble on street parking after 7pm. bookings availble. a place to take all your friends. nearest station northfields tube picadilly line.

Yelp
Good Chinese restaurant at the outskirt of Greater London. Service was excellent and the food was great. I am not sure if this place is considered expensive or not since I was visitor.

Yelp
Finally got around to going here in Jan 09 after my parents having been recommending in for 20 years or soI remember them going when we were all nippers and neighbour had to babysit. But enough about my life story . Best chinese in the area I reckon..and that's from a life long fan of The Happiness in Boston Manor.Had the set menu, all beautifully prepared and cooked, and very tasty.Decor very good also. Negativesgets very busy so unless you book or get an early table you may not get in.Also staff seemed to loiter about a little disconertingly between courses or when not busy.

Yelp
This is an awesome place to eat! Food is excellent and the service is great. The price of a meal for two was good even though it is a Michelin Star rated restaurant.
