We came here on a whim and tried our luck with just walking in. The service from the moment we arrived was fantastic. The front of the house team said they could fit us in at the bar and made it work! They warned us that unfortunately the building air conditioning was broken but that didn't bother us. We were then seated at the bar and the bartender tended to us right away. She was attentive and friendly. We told her we were on a long overdue date night as parents and surprised us later on in our meal with champagne. So nice and such a nice touch! We ordered three dishes to share: grilled octopus, beef tartare and the spicy rigatoni. Every dish was delicious! I appreciated the bigger serving size to match the price on the menu. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

My experience at Maxime's for Sunday brunch was, as good as I can put it, mediocre. This becomes more true when seeing the bill. Let me start with entering and the vibe; it's a beautiful space with an open kitchen concept and a cute little patio that's its own little nook. It starts as a bloggers heaven, followed by the hornets - which we just couldn't shake off. At one point one got me good and it caused me to drop my fork with a piece of steak and egg staining my white shorts and light blue shirt. Stung and stained! It wouldn't have bothered me so much if it was one - there were just so many. Our server was easy going, nothing in particular that he did was good or bad - which in my books is great. We ordered our drinks which we had asked to begin with a latté (not on menu on a brunch?) but he quickly said it's something they can do. But it never came. Then came our two, forty-dollarn espresso martini flights. They came in 6 flavours, but wait....two were already out at noon. How do you have a Sunday brunch menu with a signature flight - a staple - a marketing push - likely your biggest photo op - and you can't make the matcha or the pumpkin, at noon, on Sunday, for the Sunday brunch menu. 6 flavours, 2 flights, 3 per flight. Makes sense right? Would have been lovely to get all 6 flavours. The food was good, although again, I don't know how it's so damn expensive for what it is. They are charging St.Regis/Ritz prices and in the peak of brunch time you had less than 20 guests. The options were very limited - it felt as though the menu was geared towards a more female clientele, even the drinks were heavily vodka based with not much on the more robust side - they even only had like 3 beers (and one again wasn't available). Look - we were still able to have a great time, the four of us, but $390 later for 4 people to have brunch is a little excessive when it was four mains, one side, one muffin and a couple drinks - not even coffees. Do better - beautiful decor and instagrammability won't always save a restaurant.

It’s a great place. Smaller than I expected, which made for an intimate and exclusive vibe. I attended with my wife for our anniversary. Thomas was a great server. His recommendations were delicious and the martinis he made for us were top-notch. We had the steak and it was cooked to a perfect medium. Also, The toppings for the oysters here are to die for. I definitely would recommend. They had a live DJ too when I went. Make sure you ask for Thomas.

I visited here for my friend’s birthday party. My server, Francescea, bartender Adam, and Juals, provided the best service for us. The food here was the best and their cocktails were amazing! If you are looking forward to a meal on a special day, I definitely recommend Maxim‘s!!!!

Maximes Toronto is a whole vibe! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance completely set the tone for an amazing experience. The dim lighting, chic decor, and cozy yet upscale feel made it the perfect spot for a night out. Every little detail added to the atmosphere, making it feel effortlessly stylish yet inviting. The service was top-notch—attentive but not overbearing. The appetizers were absolutely delicious and surprisingly filling, but the main course didn’t quite hit the same. The chicken was a bit bland for my taste. That being said, the overall experience was still great, and I’d definitely come back. If you’re looking for a place with amazing vibes, great service, and a solid start to your meal, Maxime’s is worth checking out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had an incredible experience at Maxime’s! The veal was absolutely outstanding—tender, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Easily one of the best I’ve had anywhere. I also loved their cosmo martini, which was balanced just right and made for the perfect pairing with dinner. The ambiance is elegant without feeling stuffy, and the staff were attentive and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. If you’re looking for a place that delivers excellent food and a great atmosphere, I can’t recommend Maxime’s enough.

I rarely write negative reviews, but the service at this restaurant left me no choice. Despite calling ahead to notify them I was running late for my birthday reservation, what followed was an experience marked by neglect, inconsistency, and a stunning lack of hospitality. Water was inconsistently served, basic requests were ignored, and no one took the initiative to check on our table while we waited over an hour for food—with no updates or refills. My steak was cooked incorrectly, and while they offered to fix it, the replacement never arrived. By the time I canceled it, everyone had finished eating, and the moment was long gone. They did remove the steak from the bill, but at that point, it felt like a hollow gesture rather than real accountability. Meanwhile, our waitress seemed focused on a much larger group nearby, making it painfully obvious that smaller parties like ours were not a priority. Even when dropping off dessert menus, there was no greeting—just silence and attitude. For a restaurant charging $100+ per person, the complete lack of service, warmth, and professionalism is unacceptable. A birthday dinner turned into a frustrating, disheartening experience. I left feeling ignored, disappointed, and unlikely to return.

The service was great and the ambience is lovely on the patio. The menu had a ton of option and some of their steaks are halal (for those who are looking for halal steaks). I recommend the spicy rigatoni pasta and the wagyu sliders! The tiramisu is just aesthetic, otherwise I would skip (seems more like a tiramisu cake rather than authentic tiramisu with ladyfingers). Overall good experience!

Yelp
If you are looking for an aftermove where you can get good drinks and small bites then add this place to your list. It has a lounge vibe and the staff is amazing. They are super engaged at the table and also provide great recommendations. I recommend getting a resume as the place is small so there is a limit on tables. The music is fun and they cool LED walls. There is also an outdoor area as well.

Yelp
Great last minute dinner! Fresh food and superb service! Music is loud and ambience is dark of you like that sort of thing.

Yelp
Maxime is so delicious! Quality food with excellent friendly services. I can't wait to come back here to eat again. Definitely ask for your steak "chicago style", truffle mashed potatoes is soo tasty and smooth. Ambiance and decor makes me forget I'm near King street. Such fun music vibe.

Yelp
Food was great and the service ! Really pretty inside too. Parking is abit annoying but doable , street parking typical for downtown. I recommend the shrimp dish! So good

Yelp
Really special, intimate restaurant with kitchen in full view. We had a reservation but the place was pretty empty. Likely we were early and it picks up later. I hope so because the steep prices are worth it. The food is really special, service flawless, and ambience delightful.

Yelp
I LOVE his place! It is for sure a Toronto must go to! The vibes were amazing. There was a LIVE DJ on a Tuesday night. From the moment you walk in, to the minute you leave, it is a 5 star experience all the way. My server was Mark. Ask for MARK! He portioned my food out perfectly. He was very personable and friendly. The Wagyu Ceasar is the best salad you'll ever had! They even accommodated me deconstructing it and making own little dressing. If you know me, you know I LOVE Carbone.... I ordered the Spicy Vodka Rigatoni and I'll I can say is WOW! It's worth a trip to Toronto just to eat here again!

Yelp
Hands down one of the best dinning experiences I've had in a long time. I was concerned as a pescatarian that there would not be enough choices. There are a lot of choices! The food was absolutely amazing, the service was incredible and the atmosphere was fantastic. I didn't even mind the house music as it was being played at a low volume. It did get a little louder as we were leaving but still not bad.

Yelp
Maxime's is one of the reasons I will come back to Toronto, it's that good! The food is delicious! First of all, the ambiance and vibes are amazing, and the time spent on the details really shows. The open-concept kitchen and close-knit seating add to the ambiance. The service is amazing, our waiter/bartender was very nice and helpful. He recommended the best dishes and cocktails and was very well-informed. Every single dish was immaculate. I will add a list of everything we ordered, you can't go wrong with any of these. I want to especially highlight the truffle pasta as I have had several different versions from different restaurants, but this truffle pasta was hard to beat. Some of our favorite dishes: - Crispy Rock Shrimp - Truffle and Mushroom Pasta - Australian Wagyu Cocktails: - Hot & Bothered - P-Star Martini
