My wife and I loved this place. The food was the best we’ve had so far on our trip. The restaurant is over 200 years old and it has a beautiful old vibe to it. The wood creeks, it almost feels like you’re in an old ship. The food tasted like something I would expect if I visited a local making a homemade meal for a special occasion. I would definitely recommend this place.

We came here on first day of our Vienna trip. The vibe and atmosphere were really nice. You can find traditional good on fair price. We loved the place ☺️

The staff was really nice and friendly. We had no reservation but they could get us a table. However the wait was very lond. We waited like 40 minutes for the main course. Then we orderd 1 dessert, that took like another 30 minutes. The place was packed of course.

Staff is really nice, food is delicious (wiener schnitzel and potato salad, beef stew, apple juice). Portions are huge, one is more than enough for two adults, especially if you care to eat dessert afterwards. Place was crowded when we came (holiday, lunchtime), but they managed to find a table for us, for hour and a half.

“A small gem”. Great atmosphere, friendly and welcoming service, fresh and homemade food. The dessert was fantastic but I ate it before taking a photo

I arrived without a reservation a thursday night and had an amazing traditional dinner! The Frittaten Suppe and the small Wiener Schnitzel were a splendid choice!

A hidden gem with authentic atmosphere and kitchen. Goulash is something remarkable, roasted onion and veal with potatoes is also goes great with beer and authentic veal schnitzel is also a must. Many thanks for the warm welcome and hope to visit you again!

Made a reservation, received a few email for the same but not sure if it was a confirmation email since it was in German whch i did not understand. They did accommodated me with a table. I was handed a menu but the lady informed only beef brisket was available so since i had no other option I ordered it. It was not bad, the meat was juicy. As for dessert, i had kaiserschmarrn recommended by the waiter. It was nice but the portion was enormous and would be enough for up to 4 people. Overall, it was a good experience. Venue was kinda cool.

Yelp
Wonderful experience in the 4th oldest restaurant in Vienna. Traditional food paired with wines make for a historical experience. Walter the owner knows his wines. Having come from Santa Barbara I was pleasantly impressed.

Yelp
If you're looking for dank authentic Austrian food this is the place to be. Excellent schnitzel, steak, and fried chicken and great service. The desert pancake thing was great. Must go if you are in Vienna

Yelp
This is the type of restaurant we have been looking for, very small and intimate and very austrian. I had the soup of the day which was a liver dumpling soup, very good. I they had a pork roast sandwich, again very tasty and filling!

Yelp
This is a super cool old school wood interior classic. There is a smoking room and the whole other side is non smoking. Limited menu with interesting and classic homestyle Austrian classics. Real deal. This is not a bistro or hip place. This is where you go with your uncle to relax, throw back some Gössers, and enjoy a relaxed and laid back drinking and dining experience. Waitress was very helpfup and accomodating. Cook was friendly and funny. So were out fellow customers. We special order a salad minus the chicken it comes with. Fresh field greens. Got the fried dough with plum, raising and apple saice dessert. Delicious. My kind of place. Don't be afraid to tell the waitress when you need something or want the check. She will leave you largely alone to enjoy and stay awhile. Fun decor. 200 years old. Loved it. Went twice.

Yelp
Omg!!!! Amazingly delicious beef goulash with knodel at this homy restaurant, opened since 1805. I was greeted by a very kind and warm !!! A must try place while in Vienna! Ambience is amazing, cozy and vintage...

Yelp
This was the best Austrian food that we had. Main courses are about 12 Euros. The first dessert of the sliced pancakes was amazing. Call ahead to reserve a table. Only 1 negative - they keep all the windows open in summer and there's a lot of bugs flying around at dusk.

Yelp
Don't go there! We waited over two hours for a chicken salad that tasted like rotten meat. And that being the only guests! On top of it, the chef mocked us several times for not wanting sugary vinegar on our salad, calling us "sheep" and making sheep noises. A joke! The service, a caricature. After 2 1/2 hours waiting, without our guests having received their dishes, we simply left. It used to be a cute alternative to dine near Hietzing, but now it's just a smokey place full of loud drunks. A huge disappointment!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I ate here three nights ago during our stay in Vienna. One of the bests! When we searched this came up as having amazing Goulash and it really did. We've traveled across Austria and tried Goulash in many cities and restaurants and this is by far the best Goulash we've had. Authentic restaurant and open since the 1800s if you're looking for traditional Austrian food be sure to visit.

Yelp
My husband has a special gift of finding the best local venues where ever we visit. This small, but amazing restaurant made the top of the list while staying in Vienna. Sunday brunch was an afternoon experience, which lasted four hours. We felt so welcomed by the owner and staff, who also spent time chatting with us during our stay. If you go to the Schonbrunn Palace and gardens, you also need to go here. I promise you that you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
200 years old restaurant. The owner is such a nice man and the woman cooking was so sweet. The food did take a while too cook, but I guess, when you cook everything from scratch it takes time. Reasonably priced. €11 for most expensive plate on the menu..
