One of the better hostels I've been to. The in room shared shower/toilet is a great idea. Free breakfast buffet is nice. Beds are comfortable. The lobby and staff are very nice too. The shower is poorly executed and needs better water flow control and a better exhaust fan. You need to supply your own towel or hire one but the room price of $4-7/bed wouldn't leave room to supply everything.

This hotel was right in the middle of the craziness of Hanoi's old quarter. There were concerts in the streets for my first couple of nights (for the euro cup I believe) which was a lot of fun to see. Don't worry though, they're always quiet again by around 11pm. The staff here were really great and friendly. The breakfast was lovely as well with eggs, bread, pineapple, and really good iced coffee. The location couldn't be better as you're surrounded by restaurants and circle k marts and all of the souvenir shops of old quarter. The wifi also worked really well. The only downfalls: being on the fifth floor with no elevator and a heavy bag, and quite a lot a mold in the bathroom. Other than that the rooms were very spacious and clean. Good place to stay, ask for a room on a lower level of possible!

Don't expect anything fancy here. The hotel / hostel is in a prime location in Old Quarter, which does mean you'll need earplugs if you're going to bed before midnight. After the bars close at that point and upto around 10am it's nice and quiet tho. Breakfast was alright, but again nothing special offering good Vietnamese options and very basic western food, set on the 8th floor. Note that the lift only runs until the 6th floor and there are rooms on the 9th as well. Checkin policy was very strict but fair and luggage storage is available. We had a double room and sheets & linen is provided without extra cost. The room also has a safe free of charge. We used a pickup from the airport, and even though it took an hour to clear passport control we were able to easily arrange the pickup.

Stayed here for two weeks. It is located at the old quarter and very accessible to bars and restaurants. It is also walking distance from the Hoan Kiem Lake. Since it is in the heart of the old quarter (located in the beer street), music can be heard in the room. The washroom is small and it was a bit of a challenge to clean up. There's a hot shower which is a good thing. The AC barely worked during my stay but the staff was very helpful in assisting in making it work. Breakfast is good but they prepare the same menu everyday. Overall, it is a very good hotel at a very affordable price.

The rooms are reasonable. We had a room that was at the back of the building so noise was not too much of a problem, however i imagine the front rooms wouldn’t be great for noise issues. Air con and wifi good - beds comfortable and bathroom basic without a shower screen. There is no lift so be prepared for a workout to get to your room however the staff happily took my bag up to my room. The hotel is very centrally located in the old quarter.

It was a wonderful stay at the hotel. Its tucked away in an alley in the old quarter. The location is very good. Walking distance to the lake, shops, restaurants and pubs. We stayed in superior double room without a window. It was alright with comfortable bed, working ac, and clean bathroom. Breakfast was good with options for vegetarian as well. Staff was courteous and helpful. Can recommend to people who just need a comfy place to sleep than looking for amenities.

PROS: The location is good and the staff is friendly. Although the outside street is crowded at night but the room keeps it tranquil and calm enough. The host offered me a big room for three, thought I book a single room. So far it is good if you stay around 1 night only.||||CONS: The room is not clean, not modern and not bright. The stairs are little bit dark. The toilet does not offer hot water though the outside weather is pretty cold.

The location is great and the price is reasonable. No lift so a room on the fifth floor is a workout! We took the stairs 2 st a time and called that our lunges!! The rooms are big. Beds are comfy. Water is hot 24hrs. The rooms are a bit dingy - clean and comfy but she ain't fancy! The staff make this place - I had my phone stolen at 0330 coming off the Sapa night bus. It took all day, 4 police station visits, form filling, translation, photo copying and I don't know what else to get the police report. The hotel staff were with me all the way assisting, translating, running me back and forth on their scooters, and it cost me nothing (except time and some of my sanity!). When I tried to tip them 100,000 vnd, they flat out refused to take my money 3x, saying they were happy to help. They did accept the chocolate bars I bought them :-).
