This was my first time staying in a hostel and let me just say - WOW! Everything about this place blew me away, the grounds were beautiful with plants, open seating areas, and an area with darts, pool table, and weights to work out. The shared dorm was very clean, each person had their own locker, light, and outlet to charge. They even come in to made the bed each day. The shared bathroom had 4 sinks, 4 stalls, and 6 showers. There was always one open when I needed it. The breakfast that is served is also top notch and you can choose between a traditional breakfast, pancakes, or granola. The daily happy hour was a great time with nightly cocktail specials to keep things different throughout the week. The location of this hostel is also very nice, located just 2 blocks from the main church. It takes about 8 minutes to walk to the Central Park, we never felt far away from anything here. Overall this was one of my favorite places I have stayed. We liked it so much that we booked a private queen room when we returned to Antigua on the last day of our trip. I highly recommend staying here if you’re coming to Antigua!

This place was awesome! We stayed here for a night, the breakfast was good, everyone working there was kind, and the hostel itself was very pretty. There were some big fans to help deal with the heat and it wasn’t even busy when we went!

Clean bedding and rooms, good storage space underneath beds for bags, the staff were super nice and friendly and there was a good variety of breakfast options. The rooms were warm and only had a fan which stayed on all the time. Would stay again.

This is the first hostel I’ve ever stayed in in my life, and my experience was impeccable. I wanted a hostel that was social, but not too party-oriented as I still needed to work a bit. I made so many friends here and since it was my trip’s first stop this made it so easy for the rest of my solo trip. The hostel and amenities are clean, lots of different areas to work, read, relax, the breakfast was better than in a lot of hotel. Mostly the staff was so friendly, gave me great recommendations and made the overall experience so memorable.

The rooms where pretty small and was very humid inside the room. But it has good facility like kitchen and living room. A small gym. The bartender was really welcoming . Breakfast did not have much good options. Overall i liked the stay.

Maya Papaya was incredible. The staff were extraordinary, breakfast was amazing, it was super clean, housekeeping even made the dorm beds up every morning. The one problem was that the womens dorm was so insanely hot, despite a big fan and the windows being open. I couldn’t sleep and ended up drenched in sweat! This was during May.

We got there late at night, and the hosts (angel, cristian, and hector) were there to welcome us gracefully. Explained where everything was, their affiliations with other hostels, including one with a pool and sauna! Angel always entertained me at the bar, even played some beer pong with me (theres music at the bar but you cant hear it in the rooms.) cristian even took us out one time after his shift, and hector has great knowledge on tourist attractions. Plenty of bathrooms and clean showers. I will say rooms were a little hot, but i had a private one and they helped me with an extra fan. They provide water and fridge space. The Staff definitely helped make the most out of my trip.

An absolutely absurd price for a hostel, especially by Guatemalan standards. You’d think for $35 USD a night, they’d at least include a towel or shampoo. But it is a beautiful hostel with amazing breakfast and comfortable rooms. Not a party hostel at all but you’ll meet some fun people at the bar, where they have amazing cocktails and good happy hour deals.
