Mayang Sari Beach Resort

Our second time staying here, this time for 5 nights in a garden villa.. The whole stay here was wonderful. The garden villa was excellent, and so comfy. The air con worked well, we definitely needed it... Loved every minute. As my wife was having difficulty walking, the staff went out of the way to help us get around, especially the reception staff.. We hired a buggy for the day, and spent time in the other areas of the resort. The floating bar was one of our favourite places. The whole resort was so quiet also, and having the whole beach to ourselves was amazing. We also got looked after by the staff in all the restaurants, especially in the Deli Cafe for food and drinks. Loved the towling animals made by our room attendant. The food and drinks were excellent, although the wines were very expensive.. Great selection of cocktails.We did miss the elephants that were here 7 years ago. but we saw them at Safari Lagoi.... Hope we can return again sometime.

Wonderful place to get away from it all -- quiet and peaceful; the beach is beautiful and clean; and if you get a sea-view chalet, you can hear the waves all night, even from inside the chalet with the door and windows closed. Staff are amazing -- friendly, helpful. I loved the food at the Kelong Restaurant and Dino Bistro (didn't get to try the other restaurants). This place deserves more guests -- it's a hidden gem. But maybe I should keep the secret to myself. :P (I'll be back!)

Amazing place to stay if you need to just relax and recharge in the calm. Just idle time sitting in the patio of your sea view villa and enjoy looking at the sea or walking by the beach collecting sea shells and finding baby mud crabs inside of the sea shells. It was not our first time staying at Mayang Sari or one of the other Nirwana properties. Hence, the smiling staff with their impeccable service levels is never a surprise but always a pleasure. Mayang Sari has its own restaurant, the Deli Cafe, where you can get local and western delicacies and drinks. The property has an Indian restaurant, Spice, which is a 5 minute walk from Mayang Sari, and Nirwana also has its own restaurant. They have a pick and drop shuttle from the ferry terminal, which makes it very convenient. Just a call put that this is Lagoi, so please don't expect to have malls around, and the city centre falls in the Tanjung Pinang area.

The hotel is part of a bigger resort property. The hotel location is good and the staff service attitude is great. However, the quality of the foods served in the restaurants are not good. The goods sold in the Happy Marts inside the resort property are extremely overpriced which are 3 to 4 times more expensive than in Singapore. Further, the gym in the Recreation Centre has a very strong mouldy smell. The quality of the SPA is not good. The technique of the masseurs should be improved. Also, the air-conditioner in the massage room is broken. Not worth to have any SPA treatment there.

Just checked out today after a short getaway with my girlfriends. Room was neat and clean. Plenty of space even though there were three of us. ||Mira and her colleagues at front desk were friendly and warm. They even remembered our ferry departure timing and came to remind us during breakfast when the shuttle to the ferry terminal was arriving. ||Overall awesome stay!

What a disappointment. This. Ours be a fabulous place but it is sadly lacking in terms of food choices. The breakfast was poor and the restaurants were limited. Killing is the best but even then. It very exciting. The place was only 30% occupied and felt unloved. The staff lovely and our villa was really nice. The main pool is lovely but what a disappointment that you can’t swim in the sea. Fabulous beaches which are spot by tar and plastic. The hotel is fighting a losing battle trying to keep them clean. The jelly fish are obviously a problem too. I wouldn’t go back as it really wasn’t an upmarket resort.

A family of four we had an amazing time at this resort. We stayed in a sea view bungalow with a loft and it was superb, cleaned daily and had excellent air conditioning. |The food is outstanding and the menu had plenty of choice. We found all of the staff were totally charming and professional they really could not do enough for the guests. |The water sports area is definitely worth a visit during our holiday we rented kayaks jet skis and SUPs . Again the staff there are excellent. We would also recommend a visit to the Spa which was brilliant. |The resort is only about ten minutes from the ferry terminal . It was quite simply a perfect holiday and we will definitely return !

We came here on a few weekdays during the monsoon season. It was serene and we felt so connected to nature. Though we couldn't swim in the private beach due to the turbulent waves, our kids had fun playing in the sand and at the shoreline. The room we had was the one with a mezzanine floor, and it was very clean and well designed. The staff were friendly and the food was decent albeit pricey. The resort is only a short drive from the main jetty. Will definitely come back again.
