Mayday Club

We didn’t order any food at Mayday, but their cocktails were outstanding, innovative and very delicious. The atmosphere is eclectic and the vibe is warm and relaxed. Our server Debra was kind and so helpful in explaining how some of the drinks are made from specially curated ingredients. Tucked away in a small alley, I highly recommend Mayday as a neat place to have a drink with a few friends as the atmosphere seemed better suited for an intimate gathering and perhaps not a loud group.

Please come try it, you will not regret it. We have gone to bars of the prestige of Handshake speakeasy and this one is one of the best cocktail bars we have gone to. The owner is amazing and the cocktails are great. I think this is one of the most imaginative and great bars out there, at least the best in Florence.

This is a MUST if you are in Florence and in search of incredible cocktails. I have been to cocktail bars around the US, Europe, and Asia and this is easily top 3. Marco, the owner the bartender has owned the bar for 25 years and curated the most unique and varied cocktail list. I like light sweeter cocktails and my personal favorites were the Green Power, Special Guest, Il Principe D’India, Il Re De Francia, and Provando Riprovando. Me and my husband came here 2/3 of our nights in Florence because it was so incredible. Truly truly unique and Marco even let us try his own liquor he created in his lab. Cannot recommend enough, such a unique and memorable experience. Loved it all!

Best cocktail experience of my life - Marco is a true master of his craft. The drinks and ingredients he makes are in a class of their own. Not only that, he is a fantastic host. Any questions I had about the bar, the ingredients, or his background, he was happy to answer and delve deep. If you are a bartender, home bartender, or just a fan of great cocktails, Mayday Club is THE must-visit cocktail bar in Florence. I have now been twice in one trip, and anticipate going again before I leave the city. Marco’s bar is a memory that will last a lifetime.

Honestly, the man is a genius, his passion for cocktail creation is just mesmerizing ! The attention to detail is on another level, be ready to experience creativity and please choose to get out of your comfort zone. Totally recommend! Please, make this place last for 50 years more !

found this little spot with my sister during our short time in florence, and absolutely loved it! the atmosphere was amazing, we loved the eclectic decor! cocktails were delicious and executed to perfection! the provando riprovando is a must try!

Came across this cocktail bar and decided to stop for a quick drink. Unique interior and plenty of room/tables. Inventive cocktail options and popcorn as a bonus.

We we arrived on a Thursday and had the place to ourselves. Very interesting cocktail menu. The server made recommendations and was very through in his explanations of the drink options. I told him my preferences and he provided suggestions. This is a true cocktail bar and they do not serve apertif/classic type drinks. Highly recommend if you have a more sophisticated pallet.

Mayday was on my list to visit while in town. Cool, funky bar that is really neat. The owner is super cool and is educated as a perfume designer, before moving in to the bar experience. The drinks are amazingly and the interior design is chic. Bring your friends over and enjoy a fun night. Bar staff is wonderful! Enjoy. Cin Cin!

The waiter was so nice here. He was very knowledgeable about the drinks and very friendly. The drinks were very good and this place has a unique fun feel.

Such a fun find! The ambiance is very chill and relaxing and the service staff was very attentive to our group. Our cocktails were served with water and popcorn and were very artfully crafted. It's very obvious that they care about their craft! Each of our drinks had fun garnishes and the servers gave us recommendations. If you're in Florence and you're looking for a quirky spot with fantastic drinks, this is the place to go. The owner was so welcoming. We only planned to grab one round of drinks, but we were enjoying the place so much that we stayed for several rounds. All of the drinks we had were outstanding and so tasty. Highly recommend this place.

This is the hidden gem of Florence. I took my wife there for a post-dinner cocktail, and she loved it. She had a few different drinks and thought they were all magnificent. The mixologist actually came over to our table personally and offered her two different bitters to choose from. The server was also very friendly, although it was harder to track her down when the bar got busier (to be expected). The place itself is so cozy and welcoming, with very Williamsburg, Brooklyn vibes. We absolutely loved it.

What a vibe!! I loved Mayday Club. As the first bar I went to in Florence, it stunned me by the friendliness of the owner, the overall feel, and the creativity of the drinks and decor. My friend is new to ordering drinks, and gave the owner a set of criteria - "sweet and fruity" or something like that. The owner whipped up a sweet, strawberry cocktail. We also talked a bit about New York, and I loved my drink. I can't remember the name exactly, but I believe it was a rum-based semi-sweet raspberry cocktail. So delicious. It was empty when we came (Tuesday night, lol) but the decor is super hipster and just lovely to look at. Was a little expensive, but worth the experience. Make sure to check in with Yelp! You get two shots - we had something like Kahlua, and he gave both of us shots even though only one of us checked in. Super generous! Very recommended, super cool place to grab some unique drinks, and a great and creative owner.

Absolutely loved this place! We came here at an off time so had our pick of places to sit. After positing up at a comfortable couch with a coffee table to put our drinks on, we browsed the menu throroughly. Though the drinks are more expensive here then you may find in other parts of the city, the craftsmanship and flavor make up for the added cost. We tried the Green Power, L'Erbaiolo, Special Guest, and the Sorelle Materassi. All were garnished beautifully with edible fruit and tasted amazing. The atmosphere and decor of this place was also super great. Highly recommended.

8-12€ cocktails. Great drinks, pricey, fun lounge hang out. Employees were friendly and attentive. Brought us popcorn & peanuts to keep us hungry & thirsty. Would recommend to friends, but probably won't return. My tequila & raspberry cocktail was delicious, but not one of Florence's gems.

First of all, WOW - the owner really knows his stuff. I ordered three drinks each (me and my fiancé) and he was so attentive to our likes/dislikes. He was BY FAR the best mixologist ever. You can tell he loves his craft, and he is SO GOOD at it. Would highly recommend to anyone in Florence (tourist or not) - this place CANNOT be missed.

This bar exceeded my expectations! I love craft cocktails and have had a difficult time locating a bar that could make a good one here in Italy. I had the special guest and another cocktail that had fig, mango, and rose (what was that called again?!). I found the drinks to be well balanced and flavorful. The decor was a hodgepodge of old cameras, funky light fixtures, and other colorful items. They only accept cash and the average cost of a drink is between 5 and 8 Euro. Oh and did I mention the free popcorn??

Reviews are on point. Bumped into place without reading reviews first. This place has some wonderful drinks. Had the l'erbaiolo with gin and geranium hints. Goes down sweet and had bitter after taste, but got use to it in the end. Next was the l'armaiolo with tequila and very refreshing ginger--recommended for ginger lovers. Lastly, tried the mango, rose infused banderaio with gin base -- great but hard to follow the ginger drink. Music was chilled and relaxing to lounge and sip. Very enjoyable. Highlight of visit.

This an amazing craft cocktail bar. The bartender is extremely friendly and welcoming. He let us try several liquors before we settled on a drink. And, the drinks were really well done! One warning: The bar is cash only, so head to a nearby bank first.

The atmosphere was a lot of fun and the staff was extra friendly helping us pick drinks. The unique menu was a nice change of pace.

Great drinks and a fun atmosphere with some of the most interesting liqueur infusions (porcini mushroom liqueur and another of Parmesan cheese? Hmm). Well thought out cocktails all around. Had a whisky sour with a house made with a coriander vermouth. Eclectic decor and while there were a few tourists like ourselves, it didn't feel overtly touristy (maybe because we're here in December) definitely a highlight among the areas bars and clubs that seem to cater to very young crowds. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

we had the greatest time here! We are big cocktail lovers and couldnt have been more impressed. So many house made ingredients that you wont see anywhere else in the world. The owners and bartenders are amazing, funny and friendly. The MUSIC WAS PERFECT! They have a huge respect for crate digging and blessing customers with all kinds of great sounds. You've got to stop by and have a drink!!

I had a great time here. I was invited for a private party so my experience may have been different, but the service was quick and friendly and the cocktails were inventive, unique and incredibly tasty (and strong). It's the place to go for a fine spirit or a unique infusion. No aperitivo no food but they did serve us baskets of popcorn. It's a speakeasy sort of vibe. Very dark and atmospheric. A great vibe.

Michael the Bartender is an amazing man. He has such a keen pallet for very interesting, very tasty drinks. I'm going to go ahead and say it they're kind of transcendental. If you're a real mixed drink lover, and you have the chance, you must go here. Since I was a bartender at one time, I really got into his infusions. Chemist level. No kidding. I can't tell you how many of his experiments I got to try. But I can tell you this: they were all delicious. Overall, was one of the best bar experiences I've ever had. Beyond pleased. Believe in the art of bartending.

Go here! I mean it! I first started going to mayday in 2002 and quickly became a regular. Now I go back every time I'm in Florence and for the last seven years and it just keeps getting better! Marco is at the top of his game and truly captures the alchemistic spirit of the city with his carefully crafted artisanal cocktails. Homemade Bacon infused maple bourbon...you're goddamn right! I mean, the man makes his own juice to mix with his cocktails. And no, not just any kind of juice. I'm talking juice made with a centrifuge so that it keeps all of its jammy goodness without oxidizing and tasting like fruit soup! I dont know how he does it, but man does he do it! Step away from the over-crowded college bars where bitches get drunk for the first time with sex in the beach shots...come on, friends...you're classier than that. Get your ass to mayday and listen to some ill jazz, have an actual conversation, and get to know the fair city of Florence beside its best bartender. And now mayday is even better than it was when I first started going here in '02 because Marco's got himself a wife and this lady is a real gem! We met Jenna on our last trip out in June this year and she is truly one of the warmest, most friendly hosts you could have. I'm grateful and enriched to call them both friends and am looking forward to my next trip out!

What a great find! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is just perfect. A good mix of chill beats and low lighting make for a great night of sipping some super tasty cocktails. My friend got the Benjamin Orange and I got the Madame Razz and neither of us made a poor choice! The mixes are fruity and fresh and a perfect way to end a hot day in Florence!

Marco & Jenna (your hosts at this locality) are AMAZING! Seriously. Marco is what I call a Liquor Alchemist. The man has ideas and his ideas TASTE AMAZING. Real fruit purees and distilled liquors from little mountain enclaves made by old couples who don't like commercial businesses. This is a man with the necessary connections to make drinks that are truly one of a kind! And while he's behind the bar making all manner of deliciousness, Jenna (his partner) is in the front DJings and tending to guests needs. Once upon a time she lived in the United States, so if you want the inside scoop on Florence she is adept at multiple languages. Mayday is "up in the cut" and can be a little tricky to find on the winding streets of Florence, but that's a part of its charm. Bacon-infused bourbon with maple syrup and pressed Tuscany grapes is also a part of its charm. If you don't drink liquor, fear not! I spent a good 2 hours speaking to an interesting young man from Dubai who sipped on of-the-moment juice and fruit mocktails all night. Go here. You won't regret it.

We've been welcomed here twice this week for exceptional late night cocktails and service. A very special place.

Really nice staff! I was able to sit with a book and read, have some really nice (and strong) cocktails, and enjoy the music. People came with one or two other people and lounged on the couches enjoying the atmosphere. Definatly a chill bar for people that like to jusy relax.

We are visiting from out of town and were recommended to this spot by our host who is a local/regular here. They came highly recommended because "the owner is an alchemist who makes great drinks, and his wife is from New York..." We were excited to check out this spot. We stopped by the first time and were told by the hostess to come back later. Upon our return, the same hostess informed us there was no way she can serve us. We suggested we stand inside, and she said there was no room inside. Then we suggested we order our drink at the bar and stand outside because she had just served two people cocktails there. She told us they had a table inside and were outside for a smoke. She offered us no suggestions and was essentially telling us she would not serve us and we were not welcome. We were not being obnoxious, we were simply trying to give them business since they were highly recommended to us. I am shocked to see so many good reviews when it was such a terrible experience for us. Really disappointed.

Best cocktails I've had in Florence. The husband and wife who run May Day are charming people who love what they do. They won't hesitate to tell you about a certain cocktail or give you details on all their homemade ingredients. The woman is American and the man is Italian, so even if you don't speak Italian you can get along with them. Like I said the drinks were the best I've had in Florence, if you're visiting you need to check this place out.

Craft cocktails made with fresh purees and juices, in-house made mixers, high skilled bar man, events (20's cocktail speakeasy party is just an example) and funky arty decor. Sort of pricey as a warning (€7-8 for a cocktail) but its not everyday you go out for drinks (or maybe you do) and they are all hand craft with organic juices and homemade mixers. Big plus- MAKERS MARK WHISKEY. :)

Adorable. The server is so nice and had great recommendations. The juices are locally sourced by a guy who sounds like an organic hippie. And the drink I had was fantastic. Even the bathroom is cute.

Just go here I mean seriously wow best kept secret mixologist I've ever met!!! I had the French 75 which for some reason is tough to get and he did it perfectly! Awesome awesome spot!!!
