What isn't there to like about a historic house tour with an excellent docent, a brewery doing a pop up event on site, music on the old porch overlooking a lawn scattered with happy people, beautiful gardens and extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff? I've been coming to Plymouth for a few years and yes, I am descended from a few Mayflower families, but I've never made it a point to stop in here. I'm so glad I did! We all really enjoyed the tour (which probably took an hour) and all of the information Marietta (sp?) provided as she walked us through all the rooms.
It is a beautiful building and our guide brought it to life as she described the rooms and how they were designed and who lived in them. If you go, take your time as you move through the house. Take in the furnishings and decor and ask lots of questions!
The tour is free to members and $5 for non-members. It is well worth several times that!
