My sister and I rented one of the beach cottages, the cottage its self was worth it . Clean, comfortable, bright and tastefully done. We enjoyed our patio and views were spectacular. Very relaxing with a nice beach and hike close by. Pool and hot tub were comfortable. We had a perfect meal on the restaurant deck with very friendly service. All staff at the hotel made us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend to all our friends and family

Rented the beach house # 109 very clean and spacious everything you need in the kitchen, and bath including beach towels . There is a BBQ and patio table and chairs. The view is stunning right on the ocean! lots of wildlife. Ashley at reception was extremely sweet and the staff at the breakfast bar and the restaurant were amazing. Loved it so much we reserved it again to surprise our parents visiting from Montreal at the end of June .

We rode our bikes over from Victoria and spent a couple nights at the resort in mid May. This was our second visit. We rented a lovely 2 bedroom villa (we were two couples) with a fantastic view. There was lots of room for the four of us. We had a complete well stocked kitchen. Everything was spotless. We used the pool, steam room, and hot tub a couple times and had it all to ourselves. We spent the day walking and really enjoyed the Campbell Point trail. Our bikes were secure inside the main building. We had dinner in the pub, and it was fabulous. This might just become an annual bike ride.

Had a wonderful stay here, the room had a great view and the pool was nice and relaxing. Perfect for a weekend getaway! Only fault was there is no place to store clothes- not sure if they were just renovating off season but a dresser would be a nice touch. (Seemed to be missing from our room)

When we arrived to check in we disco ered that the rooms were all on the 2nd floor and no elevator which was not possible for Dad. The wonderful woman on the front desk upgraded us to what they call their cottages. There was a bit of an upgrade cost but normally they require a 3 night stay and we were only staying 2.. this one bedroom unit is gorgeous and also has a high quality hide a bed in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with good quality appliances including a dishwasher nut the real winning feature is out the big front glass doors looking out on the ocean a mere 30 feet away.. The on-site restaurant is good and fairly priced. I look forward to returning to Mayne Island Resort

Second time here, and I absolutely love this place. I will definitely come back again. Peaceful place to visit if you want to get away from the city. Everyone is friendly. Met some cool people.❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Did I mention how beautiful it is.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Our 2 bedrooms cottage was comfortable and big enough for 5. The staff was very friendly. We appreciated the morning coffee and tea in the lobby; perfect to grab and go for a walk while our teenagers were sleeping in! We would come back.

An Incredible new years spent in paradise. If you’re looking for beautiful scenery and a quiet, relaxing weekend, I can’t recommend Mayne island Resort enough. They are extremely dog friendly and our suite even had doggy towels and a bowl. Very comfortable bed and wonderful food and vibes at the adjacent restaurant. 10/10 and thank you to the wonderful owners and hosts for making our stay special.

Yelp
Back for a few nights during March break mid week and again booked one of the cottages. Everything was perfect for our stay...including the weather. It was a very peaceful relaxing stay. We planned our menu and brought food taking full advantage of the kitchen and bbq. There were so many positives on this trip and we loved waking up to the view of the bay each morning. It was a very positive experience and happy to recommend Mayne Island Resort.

Yelp
We came here for a romantic getaway to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had booked a pet friendly cottage and when we checked in we had our dog with us. When we got to our cottage there was a "no pets" sign on the door. We called to clarify and was told that we now had a situation. The compromise was that we were told to put our dog in a kennel when we were in the cottage. Major disappointment. This place is a timeshare and we found many of the owners are nosey--people looked in our cottage as they walked by. It was uncomfortable. We couldn't get hot water from the shower. The handheld sprayer in the tub was broken. Someone came to look at it and told us it was a European fixture and then we realized it was installed upside down. It was over $400/night and there was the expectation that we strip the beds and take our garbage home. Definitely not the luxury experience we were hoping for.

Yelp
We booked a beach cottage for our honeymoon which we made the reservation in November 2021. Upon our arrival on June 15, 2022 we were told we were going to be in a totally different unit. We were very disappointed. Apparently if the owners of the cottages want to use them, it makes no difference that they have been reserved and half of the payment has been made months before. You just get bumped. We have stayed at the resort 3 times before and will now be finding another place to go to make new memories. This has left a very bad taste for us and will be a negative memory of our honeymoon.

Yelp
Just here now and loving it. Super chill and very nice for a reasonable price. Staying in 108 cottage. Everyone is very nice here and on the Island. Had a nice Hot Tub, swim and a steam in the spa area last night . All clean and updated. Can't say enough great things about the Bennet Bay restaurant. Had several items on the Menu and looking forward to more today. Dave and his wife run the Restaurant and treat you like old friends. Really good vibe. Also check out the Farm Gate Store in Fernhill Centre. Awesome. Wish we didn't have to leave tomorrow. Definitely recommend if you are thinking about a break on Mayne Island.

Yelp
On August 4, 2021 I waited 4 minutes at the front desk of the Mayne Island Resort while a woman staff member ignored me as she worked at her desk (which faces the front desk from about 10 feet away). She did not even raise her head to make eye contact to acknowledge me as I stood there waiting to be helped. Disappointing. A male staff member who helped with the luggage of guests checking out did not acknowledge me either, even though it was obvious I was standing at the front desk. Another disappointment. Only when the guests stepped to the front desk to check out did the woman walk from behind her desk. She even greeted them before acknowledging me, and I received no apology for the time I stood there waiting. Furthermore, I found her to be annoyed at my enquiry and dismissive. This experience has left a poor impression of the front desk staff of the Mayne Island Resort. A 1/2 star rating. This is in stark contrast to the friendly and personable customer service my table received from Brynn, our waitress at the Bennett Bay Bistro (the restaurant at Mayne Island Resort). Despite the restaurant being quite busy, she was cheerful and made us feel welcome and valued. 4-5 stars from me.

Yelp
The location of the resort is great, with a beautiful view of Bennett Bay. We stayed in one of the main resort rooms and found it very worn down and beaten up, definetly in need of care and repairs. The bathroom door had a huge hole gouged into it from main room door, a faulty bathroom light that snapped and flickered when turn on, a broken toilet handle and a leaky sink faucet. The water in the suite smelled very boggy. For a 3 day stay this was a bit much. On our last day we went to eat the restaurant below. I found the staff unfriendly when we arrived. We had entered via the resort lobby at 11 AM. When we said hello, the chef asked "What do you want?". We asked for a table and she replied rudely "We don't open until 11:30, it says so on the door!" She was apparently unaware that the restaurant was also connected to the hotel lobby. After waiting outside for a half an hour for their restaurant to officially open our greeting from the hostess was very cold. Her demeanor did improve during our meal service. The food is decent, large portions but not a lot of flavour.

Yelp
Relax in peacefully tranquillity! I have been visiting Mayne Island for 30 years and the experience at the Resort in Cottage 112 this weekend was simply the best! As a couple my wife and I have perviously stayed in one of the Ocean view Inn rooms and had a very good cozy experience with access to all the wonderful amenities (hot tub, heated indoor pool, steam room, exercise room, spa, cozy fireplace (books, movies, boardgames, binoculars) games room (pool table, ping pong, shuffleboard, Big screen, etc.), complimentary morning coffee & muffins, and the best restaurant on the island *try the salad bar This trip with the addition of a 10 month old baby we enjoyed the cottage experience- which is truly a game changer! The private unobstructed 180 degree ocean view from the master bedroom, living room, and patio is breathtaking (see photo). You wake up every morning feeling relaxed and thankful for the beautiful picturesque view of the water and surrounding environment. The luxurious cottage has everything you need for an island getaway: a cozy fireplace, soaker tub & separate waterfall shower, heated bathroom floor, full kitchen, bbq, washer & dryer, king bed and large pull-out couch, AC for the summer, and outdoor patio to view the beautiful stars at night. Mobility on the property is good and those that need assistance the staff have golf carts to help navigate the paths. There is ocean and pebble beach access with great walks along the water! The small community island has always been charming and a nice break from city life, with great hiking, kayaking, biking, beaches, etc. But I have noticed that as the Mayne resort has continued to develop into a top accommodations option, the island activities continue to expand: Japanese gardens (added winter lights), community parks, putting green course, frisbee golf, on island brewery, etc. Thank you Mayne Island Resort for the wonderful stay - it will be tough staying at the family house/cabin after your cottage experience! Stayed December 2016, travelled with family

Yelp
We recently visited Mayne Island Resort during a rainy, dreary weekend with our silly dog. We stayed in one of the dog friendly villas and it definitely met expectations with its offerings. It had a ton of kitchen tools for cooking simple meals, a huge fridge, a small dishwasher, and a washer/dryer available which came in super handy. The dog-friendly villa also included a dog towel (paw prints!) and a separate, enclosed porch for your pup to use. Each villa has its own wifi which was really reliable. It's a beautiful place to stay with a great view and access of the ocean and beach. If you time your day properly, you can do a small hike from the beach at low tide up to the park and do a full loop-around to enjoy the quiet wilderness. The resort also has a liquor store and restaurant on site. If you enjoy your cooking, I'd recommend picking up some groceries to make some food because the food at the restaurant was pretty disappointing. Maybe they missed a shipment of supplies, but they seemed to be out crucial ingredients for each of their appies and salads. Whatever we did manage to get was a little sad and wilted. Overall the experience around the resort was fantastic. The walls in the villa was rather thin though, so your neighbours will be able to hear your music/tv/movie. Unfortunately, our villa neighbours played EDM the entire time they were there, so we didn't get a quiet moment during our entire stay. Even then, I'd go back in the winter time just for the quiet offered down on the beach and in the park by the resort.

Yelp
We really loved this place. We stayed in one of the cottages and it was spotless clean, and super comfortable, with a beautiful view of the ocean. The cottage has a gas fireplace and bathroom has radiant floors, which being right by the ocean, are must-haves so glad to have them. King bed in the bedroom was a little too soft for me and sunken in. We were expecting a full kitchen as stated on their website, and we brought all our food. However we discovered there was no oven, so that ruined out brownie plans. :( Gas stove and BBQ however worked well. Another notable was the rec room in the main building. Lots of fun with a shuffleboard, billiards and ping pong. Pool and hot tub were clean and nice and our cottage came with 2 bathrobes. We also utilized their library of DVDs and board games. This place has thought through things well and is a 4.5 star for me. Would have been a 5 if there had been an oven, and the bed was not as sunken and soft. It was a lovely, quiet, relaxing and scenic stay. We would recommend and return!

Yelp
Spent two wonderful days at this resort in cottage 103. Fabulous view to wake up to and has all the amenities you would need. Beautiful bright westcoast interior, very clean and more than we expected. The Bistro has a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The patio overlooks the water and the peaceful surroundings. The diverse menu has something for everyone. We highly recommend the seafood chowder, the huge crod cakes and mouthwatering desserts. Every dish we tried was fantastic! The wait staff were pleasant, entertaining and knowledgeable of each dish as well as the island itself. We highly recommend a trip to this resort and can't wait to return and do more beachcombing and kayaking.

Yelp
The one star is for the beautiful Bennett Bay location. The other star is for the superb massage therapist. The "resort" did not earn even a half star. For me it started on booking. I booked online early but after waiting for weeks for some confirmation I phoned only to be able to leave a message on a machine. This prompted at last an email confirmation. Check in time does not take into account arrival times of the ferries, I drove for hours to kill time to be able to check in. Finally at 3pm I was cold and needed a cup of tea. No real front desk, very unwelcoming. It was a cold rainy day but no homey fire just over loud '80's Rock coming from the adjacent restaurant. After leaving my personal info in the front lobby, the cold and unwelcoming staff (?) allowed me to check in. The room did have a fabulous view and a comfy bed but no shower at the resort worked. I was either scalded or froze. Great potential but "resort" is stretching it!

Yelp
We just returned from Mayne Island yesterday after a wonderful three days and we're already gearing up to return in November. My boyfriend found the resort while looking for places to celebrate my birthday/May Long weekend and we both must say that it exceeded our expectations and more. The Beachfront cottage was exceptional and totally blew our socks off the moment we walked in the door. We flew into Mayne Island via Saltspring Air and the owner was kind enough to pick us up at the dock, drive us to the True Value to pick up some groceries and then drive us to the resort. The hosts were beyond accommodating and helpful. The onsite liquor store had a large selection and the restaurant had great dining options. We love to BBQ so having the option to use the the grill at our cottage was fantastic. Being from Vancouver we loved how peaceful and quiet the resort was despite the fact that there were others staying here, it was an absolute pleasure and we will definitely be coming back

Yelp
When I called to inquire about making a weekend spa reservation, Murray assured me that I would love the place and take away fond memories. I'm so glad I trusted him. The cottage had a spectacular view of the bay, was private and well stocked with dishes, cutlery and bedding. I found the staff to be very warm and welcoming and the food at the Bistro was simply delicious. We went to the Farmer's market, toured the Japanese garden, hiked to the point and sampled goods from the bakery. All very memorable. I would be remiss if I didn't give a big shout out to all the people who willingly drove us about the Island and let us know about the "car stops" .. thank you Murray, Richard, Dave and the two drivers who stopped to pick us up from the car stop.

Yelp
Was a quant beautiful place to stay. We just returned from Disney with our children and were in need of some quiet time and time to relax just the 2 of us. We got that here. Our room was nicely updated with some antique pieces throughout. The view was fantastic. The bed was comfortable. Only thing I would love to see is some screens on the patio doors so we could keep them open and breath in the fresh ocean air (I am not a fan of bugs in my room). The dock was nice to walk down and having the restaurant and liquor store attached was very convenient. Beautiful place to stay.

Yelp
Do not, for any reason book a room above the restaurant. If you walk onto the balcony, you are greeted with the stares of almost everyone in the restaurant. It's only 1 floor above it! Not to mention the constant noise from the restaurant... and on a hot summer day you'd want your window open so it really made that aspect unenjoyable. As for the customer service; When I first booked, I was emailed an incorrect date offer and only realized that I did not have the booking when I called 1 week in advance (after arranging my schedule for the trip). After realizing that the resort accidentally emailed that offer to me, the staff did not attempt to make up for the mistake. They did not sympathize at all about the mistake they made (they became defensive and did not even acknowledge how difficult it is to re-book and arrange a change of work schedule on my part), but then eventually promised to make it up with a bottle of wine upon arrival after about 10 minutes of negotiations. Even after that, the wine was not delivered, nor did the staff member even apologize or remember in person when she saw us. It was all and all a disaster with the resort itself. The island was really nice though. Book elsewhere!
