A great and authentic little Guesthouse and Restaurant. Absolutely beautiful setting with authentic but contemporary and well thought through decor. Is just a nice place to hang out and eat and drink. The menu isn't massive but what they do they do well. The local spirits they talk about on the menu is Rakshi and is pleasantly flavoured, I think with Cardamom, which makes it nice to sip.. unlike some of the rougher unflavored stuff that I tasted in Bhaktapur. Prices are quite reasonable compared to De Temple.

I find myself coming back to dine at Mayur Restaurant once every two three months. The food is soooo scrumptious, and the ambiance very serene. This is the only place in Dattatraya Square that is actually a 5/5. Truly exquisite!

This restaurant is located inside an ancient traditional courtyard with beautiful decorations. It is calm and quiet in contrast to the busy city. Here you can get excellent food, the staff is really friendly, and you get to relax a little. If you don't like spicy food, they will actually give you non-spicy food, not like in many other places where "not spicy" still results in a fire in your mouth for the average Western tongue. It is one of the best places I've eaten in Nepal so far.

We were really disappointed with our experience here. We ordered the chicken local thali and the red Thai curry with chicken and rice, and unfortunately, both dishes fell short—especially for the price. The chicken in the thali was overcooked. The daal in the thali was extremely watery, and the vegetables were undercooked. The red Thai curry was overly salty and had only three small pieces of chicken in it. To make things worse, the service was poor. One of the staff members had a terrible attitude—when we raised concerns about the food, they showed no interest in helping, simply dropped the dishes on the table and walked away. Overall, not worth the price or the experience.

The restaurant had a good ambiance. Food was good and had a good time. The restroom was very very smelly and we had to anyway to go inside washroom to clean our hands. This spoiled the whole experience.

Loved this place! It’s very pretty, food is very good and the service and client experience feels like a priority there! There’s also a beautiful wood workshop where you can admire closely artisans’ work. I recommend :)

Inspired by Newari culture, this converted home-turned-restaurant is a visual delight. The intricate architecture, traditional tables, doors, and even the toilets reflect the rich history that has thrived within these walls. The warm and welcoming ambiance makes you feel like a guest in someone's home. While the food is decent, if you want an authentic Newari culinary experience, exploring the nearby alleyways is recommended. This family-run business offers genuine hospitality and friendly smiles. As soon as you enter, you'll notice the serene atmosphere and a notable change in the ambiance. While it may not be crowded like other places, this is actually a benefit for those seeking a peaceful and serene environment. The pricing might be slightly higher, but it's worth it for those who appreciate the lush greenery and unique ambiance. Additionally, it also serves as a great co-working space where you can meet like-minded individuals. If you're looking for a place to unwind, soak in the atmosphere, or connect with others, Mayur Restaurant is a good option.

Highly dedicated to the dollar paying toursist, i felt a little unwelcomed by some of the owner. The restaurant is a home owned facility with a guesthouse in the upper floor. totally designed in newari style inside a newari home, the place is quiet beautiful. A bit expensive. Not preferring digital payment made me disappointed. The place deserved 5 but some hospitality issue bothered me so 4.
