Let me tell you about a baseball experience you won’t forget, especially if you ever find yourself in Hiroshima.
Mazda Zoom-Zoom Stadium is the home of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. It seats about 33,000 fans, and on game day, it really comes alive. The location is convenient—just a 15-minute walk from Hiroshima Station. As you walk, you’ll see a stream of fans in red and white jerseys all heading in the same direction. Just follow the crowd. It’s simple and exciting.
I went to three games there in early June 2025. One thing that stood out was the stadium’s design. Unlike most ballparks, it isn’t symmetrical. That might be because of its connection to the nearby train tracks. While you’re watching the game, you can spot the Shinkansen slowly arriving at the station. It adds a unique backdrop to the experience.
And the fans? They’re amazing. I saw older couples, even grandparents, cheering with real energy. Families were everywhere, showing true love for their team. You could feel the passion in the air. It wasn’t just a game. It felt like a celebration.
One of the nights it rained, and suddenly the crowd turned into a sea of red raincoats with “Carp” written across the back. The whole stadium looked painted in red. It was a powerful moment, something I’ll remember for a long time.
This was actually the 7th stadium I’ve visited in Japan. The atmosphere reminded me of Koshien, home of the Hanshin Tigers. That same electric energy filled the air.
For your information, the staff will ask you to pour any bottled drinks into paper cups before entering. After a quick security check, just scan your QR code ticket and you’re in. Inside, you’ll find plenty of food stalls and team shops. Unlike the Tokyo Dome, you can still use cash here, which is helpful.
If you’re a fan of baseball or just love watching people come together, this stadium is worth a visit. Watch the game, soak it all in, and enjoy every moment. You’ll leave with more than just a memory—you’ll leave with a story.
