My first baseball game experience in Japan and it was amazing! Happened to be staying about 10 mins from the stadium and on a whim decided if I could watch a game in the evening. Glad I decided to go...the crazy passion the locals have for their team (Hiroshima Carps) was fun to watch and experience. The stadium was fantastic too and the game organization and logistics was top notch too. Japan just perfects everything they do! Would highly recommend this activity (but set aside a total of 4.5hrs) if you are in Hiroshima and the Carps are playing.

Let me tell you about a baseball experience you won’t forget, especially if you ever find yourself in Hiroshima. Mazda Zoom-Zoom Stadium is the home of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. It seats about 33,000 fans, and on game day, it really comes alive. The location is convenient—just a 15-minute walk from Hiroshima Station. As you walk, you’ll see a stream of fans in red and white jerseys all heading in the same direction. Just follow the crowd. It’s simple and exciting. I went to three games there in early June 2025. One thing that stood out was the stadium’s design. Unlike most ballparks, it isn’t symmetrical. That might be because of its connection to the nearby train tracks. While you’re watching the game, you can spot the Shinkansen slowly arriving at the station. It adds a unique backdrop to the experience. And the fans? They’re amazing. I saw older couples, even grandparents, cheering with real energy. Families were everywhere, showing true love for their team. You could feel the passion in the air. It wasn’t just a game. It felt like a celebration. One of the nights it rained, and suddenly the crowd turned into a sea of red raincoats with “Carp” written across the back. The whole stadium looked painted in red. It was a powerful moment, something I’ll remember for a long time. This was actually the 7th stadium I’ve visited in Japan. The atmosphere reminded me of Koshien, home of the Hanshin Tigers. That same electric energy filled the air. For your information, the staff will ask you to pour any bottled drinks into paper cups before entering. After a quick security check, just scan your QR code ticket and you’re in. Inside, you’ll find plenty of food stalls and team shops. Unlike the Tokyo Dome, you can still use cash here, which is helpful. If you’re a fan of baseball or just love watching people come together, this stadium is worth a visit. Watch the game, soak it all in, and enjoy every moment. You’ll leave with more than just a memory—you’ll leave with a story.

This was the most fun you can have at a baseball game for sure. The crowd interaction and friendlyness were awesome. We had no problem buying tickets online and collecting them at Lawsons right by the stadium. The people around us were excited to see Canadians there and they release ballons in the 7th inning that we didn't know about so a kind lady behind us gave us one so we could join in the fun. Definitely get the thundersticks (tiny plastic baseball bats) because the whole crowd drums along to the animation crew music and hype. The mascot was funny and energetic as well. The opposing team fans are in their own area and have a band and big flags and are constantly jumping and chanting for their players and team. They have beer girls with kegs on their backs that bring the draft beer to you right at your seat. My wife has no interest in baseball at all and had a great time with all the activities and crowd fun. Don't miss this opportunity if it's available when you are in Hiroshima. When you leave, there is a great souvenir shop that remains open for a while on the bottom floor, so you don't have to give up game time to grab a shirt or towel or random souvenirs. This is the most fun you can have at a baseball game and it's more fun than an American game because it's super clean the people are friendly and the opposing team and home team chants just make the best of the whole experiance.

Attending my first baseball game in Japan at Mazda Zoom Zoom Stadium was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I entered the stadium, I was enveloped in a wave of passion and excitement that is hard to replicate elsewhere. The atmosphere inside the stadium was electric, with fans displaying unwavering support for their teams. The continuous cheering and chanting created a pulsating energy that never waned, even during breaks between innings. It was evident that baseball is not just a sport in Japan but a deeply ingrained part of the culture, uniting fans in their love for the game. Mazda Stadium itself is a modern and well-designed facility, offering various amenities to enhance the spectator experience. The availability of private booths added a touch of luxury, providing a comfortable space to enjoy the game with friends and family. The wide selection of food and drinks at reasonable prices ensured that everyone could find something to indulge in while cheering on their team.

Yelp
If you can get tickets, I highly recommend going to a Carp baseball game! The stadium is wonderful! I've been to multiple games and they are always so exciting. As someone else stated, you can bring in drinks. They have a place set up for people to pour drinks into cups. The food selection is great. Udon, fried chicken, French fries, crepes, popcorn, and more! Be sure to get the special balloons they have for sale. They're released in the middle of the 7th inning. It's also conveniently located within walking distance of Hiroshima Station. They offer stadium tours too. The information is on their website.

Yelp
My husband was very adamant about attending a Japanese baseball game during our Japan trip. We were able to buy tickets from a discount ticket shop the day before the game. The tourist information center said that you can also buy tickets at the stadium or at the convenient stores (e.g. 7-Eleven). So, we watched the Hiroshima Carps vs. Osaka Hanshin Tigers evening game. The Japanese baseball game atmosphere is completely different than the United States MLB games. I have attended a few NY Yankees and NY Mets games in the past. But, the Hiroshima Carps fans here were cheering non-stop. It was quite the experience. During the 7th inning, the Hiroshima Carps fans did this balloon release thing and it was interesting to witness. We didn't buy food at the stadium. We brought in onigiri and bento boxes that we got from the supermarket. You can't bring canned drinks inside the stadium, but you pour the drinks into paper cups that are provided around the entrance. The boxed carton drinks are allowed inside. Overall, this was an enjoyable experience.

Yelp
Fun place to see a baseball game as Carp fans are passionate and price is low. Easy walk from main train station. However I would rank this stadium below others because food selection was poor and seating in GA section is confusing. Highly recommend loaded

Yelp
This was such a great experience. Even those who of us who were not baseball fans had a great time. The atmosphere is a bit different from the games in the U.S. Everyone cheers in unison and there is even cheer squads of die hard fans, which, is great. Very family friendly and safe. We booked our tickets online in advance (we were told this was recommended). When we went, former Yankee/Dodger, Kuroda was the starting pitcher for the Carp (sadly, he got worked). Hiroshima in general is such a fun place to visit.

Yelp
What a fun evening seeing the Carps play in Hiroshima's Mazda Zoom-zoom stadium! First tip: you can buy tickets to the baseball at convenience stores in Hiroshima. We bought ours in the 7-11 across from Nagata-ya. You either have to speak Japanese or have some seriously helpful person assist you (thank you very much to the manager at the 7-11) in purchasing the tickets because the machine does not provide other language support. The game was otherwise sold out, but lucky for us there were some seats in the visitors section available, so off we went. The good news about the visitors section is that it was in full shade by 6 pm. The bulk of the outfield seats for the Carps' fans had at least another 90 minutes of heavy, hot, direct sun, so if you are sensitive to that, keep that in mind when choosing the seats. You aren't allowed to bring bottles or cans of any kind into the stadium, but you can empty anything you have into paper cups that are provided by the staff at the entry. There are tons of food vendors on the route to the stadium, or you can stop in the JR station for bento boxes...all are allowed in. However, there is a ton of fun food inside the stadium, so if you don't mind spending a bit more and want something hot and fresh, you can get it there (ice cream, vending machine drinks and shaved ice also available at the park). There's also no smoking in the seats at the stadium (there are small smoking zones on the exterior of the building) and this was just about the cleanest ballpark I've ever seen. None of that gooey, gummy mess you often find under your seats at other stadiums. This one was positively spotless. An easy but somewhat confusing walk from the JR station, follow the crowds for a much shorter walk. Take note of landmarks along the way - the trek back is perfectly safe but without our wifi, I ended up on the wrong side of the JR station and it was difficult to get back to the right spot. The true stars of the night were the fans - so much fun to hear the organized singing, endless cheering, see the balloons and more. The teams were great but it just felt like a night of great wholesome fun. I highly recommend catching a baseball game when you come to Hiroshima. Even if you've never been to a game before, or if you are a lifelong American baseball fan, you'll have a blast.

Yelp
I've been to many baseball stadiums in the US, and this is by far one of the best I've ever been to! Let's start off with: 1) you can bring your own booze into the stadium!!! They just ask that you pour it into a cup at the door and they recycle your receptacle. WHAT?! 2) you can also bring your own food into the stadium! I still haven't gotten over the booze part yet... 3) IT'S SO CLEAN! Everyone picks up after themselves and no piles of trash left after the game. 4) the food is SO GOOD and reasonably priced too! 5) ALL the fans are actually loving and enjoying baseball! 6) all the players have multiple songs and chants that everyone knows and participates in - it's amazing! 7) home and away teams have a band like college football! It's so fun! 8) the fans are respectful and fun! I think they have some of the best sportsmanship and fans I've ever seen! Wow, just wow! I imagine Japanese fans must think our fans are boring??? Their fans are excited even when it's not playoffs! I loved it. I would want to go to a game again when I'm back in Japan!

Yelp
I am not a fan of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp but I do enjoy visiting baseball park whenever I have a chance. This ballpark is only a 10 minute walk from the Hiroshima station (広島駅). The signs inside the station will point you to the right exit. Once you are outside, turn left and follow the road. I was surprise the ballpark was opened for visitors to go in and walk around during off season. There was a security guard outside the gate, but don't worry, you can still go in and walk around. I walked around the concourse and imagined what it would be like when a game is playing. I am sure it would be a fun time with all the cheering and chants for their home team. This is an open ballpark with no ceiling. The day I was there, it was cold and windy. They have a souvenirs shop on ground level that sells all sorts of Toyo Carp souvenirs and opens from 10 am to 4 pm during off season except game days. I took one star off because this ballpark does not have a roof. Otherwise, I enjoyed walking around it. and hope one day I would be able to watch a ball game there between the Giants and the Carp.
