On the Grid : McArthur Dairy

"If you want to an easy way to identify Miami natives, just sing the jingle, "We all grew up on McArthur". Those born and raised here will be the ones wearing instant smiles. In Miami, anyone of a certain age truly did grow up on McArthur - it's been a dominant force in the market since its founding in 1929 by J. Neville McArthur. In the early 1950's, McArthur built the dairy plant, the most modern in the country at the time. The 1950's were a particularly good for McArthur - along with his new facility he had the largest single dairy herd in the world, and demonstrated his local pride and commitment to his community with a $1 million donation to the University of Miami (the equivalent of over $10 million in 2016.) While visitors can't enter the building (it is, after all, an operating dairy processing plant), it's worth a drive-by on the 2nd Avenue side for a glimpse at the well-preserved Miami Modern (MiMo) architecture alone." - Matthew Vander Werff & Ashley Melisse Abess

Their milk was fresh and clean tasting. This is the brand of milk served on Royal Carribean Cruises from Florida. Quite liked the individual serving small milk cartons which was just the right amount. The low fat chocolate milk was not too sweet which was nice. The fat free milk was good too.

Most of my life starting around the Thanksgiving holiday I start looking for McArthur egg nog, such a rich and delicious holiday treat. This year I was really disappointed the cost is up and the taste is not what I remember the richness is not there and the taste is lacking. I do not know what you have changed in the formula but it is not a good change. Again really disappointed.

I drink buttermilk and the last 4 time that I bought it, it was not ready to use because it was watery, tasted off and not thick enough like it normally is and its not cheap. I'm not sure why its been so inconsistent but its not good and I wont buy it this way again.

I drink 1 pint of milk I purchase in the mornings from the Publix on 11495 Bird Road Miami, Fl 33165. Recently upon opening the bottle of milk the lids safety seal is not seperating from the lid. This can be a safety concern. I am a fan of McArthur Dairy and writing to you so that you can acknowledge and fix this. Pass it on to Mr. Mana.

In November 2022 I brought a half gallon of 2% milk that displayed expiry date of 11/10/22. Two after a trip on clearing out my refrigerator I was about to throw out the milk and decided to check it and to my amazement it was still good. I don't drink milk every day plus I travel alot and today I am drinking that last of that carton of milk that is still good and fresh I would recommend this brand to everyone

Nice enough folks. Waited a good bit. Back down NE 69th street. Just past the gate on the right hand side and check in. Otherwise you’ll have to Drive circus detail turning around in the trailer lot at end of street. Not really enough room. I did it. I would have much rather backed down 69th. Then you’ll also have to back into dock. Look at Google. Dock on side of building closest to NE 3rd Ave. Good luck.

I work at McAthur HS and drank McArthur milk in elementary and middle school. I still choose this milk because it is the best milk in South Florida and always has been.

From Scotland, the Spanish Palms Mortuary from Bad Boys 2, how cool it was to see this in real life. We love you Miami!
