Stayed at McCloud Hotel last night. Felt right at home with all the antique furnishings and laid back ambience. Slept on ice large bed and the bath had plenty of hot water! Sage restaurant cooked excellent rainbow trout with mashed potatoes n asparagus. Also vino was offered at 4. Breakfast was served at 0800 and was delish, coffee too! No problem if you have a service pet and off in the distance,Mount Shasta looms majestically…

We have enjoyed every one of our 28 trips we have made to the McCloud Hotel in the past 7 years. The accommodations are so comfortable; luxury linens and top of the line pillows. The ambience of the cozy lobby; craftsmanship of the interior woodwork; make this a stunning destination. The history buffs will also be intrigued by all the wonderful pictures and stories dating back to the late 1800's.|Cindy Rosmann, the owner of the hotel has amassed a great many wonderful books for guests to enjoy.|There are some games in the lobby by the fireplace and soft music playing in the background. The hardworking staff always make us feel like royalty. Go online and check out the upcoming events and book your stay...it really is a magical place to unwind and reconnect. Mmmm.

For the second year in a row, our family and fur-baby went to celebrate Thanksgiving in this charming hotel that we love almost everything about!||As French people living in California for 13 years, we are always on the lookout for a hidden gem that combines authenticity, beauty, history, good food, and friendly service. This one has it all and the gentle chic presence of the innkeeper Cindy adds to the very “English” charm of this unique place. We highly recommend.||Apparently, two or three times a year, lunch and tea are served on the gorgeous antique crockery displayed in the living room’s dresser. Looks like we’ll have to come back again!

We had the wedding of our son & wonderful bride there at the gorgeous back yard of the hotel. Our party rented the whole hotel & nearby restaurant for the event. It couldn’t have been a nicer, more convenient, more welcoming, warmer or more beautiful place for this wedding. No one wanted to leave & so many guests said they had never been to a nicer wedding. The food was delicious, the place was spotless & the SHEETS were fantastic. What a perfect spot to get away from it all, a family reunion and definitely a wedding!!

What a beautifully appointed historic building!! Such great energy here... Cozy, welcoming vibes. It was like coming to visit a relative that lived somewhere remote and beautiful... It was a winter wonderland to the two of us Floridians!! So amazing .. great shower pressure, great rain shower head for that matter! The water is delicious and highly recommended to drink!! When we filled the Jacuzzi tub... The water looked fake it was so pristine and colored like artic spring water ... At least that was my imagination!☺️✨ The bed... So super comfortable and dreamy sheets.... So good. No televisions in the rooms .. so amazing to have such silence. We both slept so well that we will definitely be back to this magical place.... And if you're a dreamer, this spot will definitely amplify your dream-life!! The breakfast that's included - bonus- is spectacular. Home made... With love. And the coffee, yes. So good. The innkeeper, she even has her Boston Emmy on display for a musical score!!! Such a fantastic feeling in this place. No elevator. So for those who need that, I understand they also have first floor rooms! The dreamy upstairs decor brought me to another time. The sitting room upstairs offered an entire miniature Christmas village all lit up!! So lovely and warm to sit with... See pictures! Because beyond the fantastical little fantasy village lies a snow covered outdoor space that is equally as magical!!! You can curl up next to the fireplace -always going- on the oversized leather sofa with a good poetry or historical book from the richly stocked shelves. There's even an antique victrola in the front room!! So cool... Definitely a gem hidden at the southern base of majestic Mount Shasta!!! Highly recommend!!!!

We stayed here for the first night of a week-long road trip. What a delightful start to our adventures! The outside is beautifully maintained, with many places to sit, relax, and visit. The inside is lovely, full of charm. While we didn't have a lot of interaction with staff, they were available to answer questions and make us feel welcomed. Loved our room! The bed was comfy, and we chose a corner room that was adjacent to an outdoor balcony. The view was pretty all day, and esp at night when the garden was lighted. The air conditioner did stop working for a brief time (frozen from trying to keep up with the over-100F temps outside -- totally understandable!) but after we turned it off and let it thaw, it worked perfectly from then on. The wine hour was an unexpected bonus AND the breakfast was the best one of our trip. We can't wait to return, next time for longer than just one night. Thank you to the entire McCloud Hotel owners and team!

My husband and i fell in love with the McCloud Hotel. It's the opposite of us, but yet it isn't. The rooms are large and each has their own personality. the dining room and "living" room areas have a manor or a cottage feel that just pulled at my heart strings. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it was like i was seeing something i've dreamt about. the hotel is a quaint place that brings you back to the purest of times. everyone from the staff, to the local restaurant and shop owners, to the locals were unbelievably friendly and kind. i didn't want to leave. My husband met some great people who loved to fish and invited us to their spot and he had a blast. The falls are breathtaking and the land is indeed sacred. And they also allow your dog and have the utmost respect to your pups personality. Our dog, Mila would just randomly bark as she descended down the stairs and no one even batted an eye. thank you McCloud Staff for everything. :)

A wonderful stay. Very comfortable ski lodge experience A warm welcoming fire when you enter. Large older rooms and the softest sheets ever! I had a wonderful sleep.

Yelp
This is an old hotel and not in a good way. It is either struggling or the owners no longer have time or care. They do keep trying which isn't coming across in a good way. We arrived at 6:30p and was excited to have arrived early and was going to enjoy a cocktail outside and just relax. However, there was no envelope waiting for us, only a note telling us to call this number if there wasn't an envelope. Called the number and got a lengthy recording which none of it helped in anyway. On the recording, they mentioned the pub next door. Decided to go and see if anyone knew "Cynthia'". Lo and behold, the hostess did. She called Cynthia or someone, who answered and then took us back to the hotel for our key. She apologized and up we went and she left. Upon opening our room, there was no bedding on the bed and a trash bag on the floor. Bummer. So off we went back to the pub and explained what happened. She called Cynthia or ? again. Back to the hotel we go. She goes upstairs to check the room we were now going to (their suite) and it was all cleaned. So up we go. It is now dark outside so we decide to watch a movie on my iPad (no tv in the room). Well there is nothing to tell us the WiFi password. We had been told there was a piece of paper in the room with all the info. I decide this time to call the pub and ask for the hostess. She puts me on hold and again calls Cynthia or ? and comes back and gives me the password. I kept her on the phone this time. It worked. The rest of the night went well. The following morning we went down to breakfast at 9:15a. The tables have white table cloths and were clean, set and ready. There was plenty of things to choose from including hot eggs, both scrambled and fried (the fried didn't look that great but I cut off all the crunchy edges), fried potatoes, pancakes, bacon and sausage. The dining room had a light fixture missing on the wall and the drapes were off the hooks. It looked sad. For $283 I expected more. I would not recommend this place and will not be back.

Yelp
Old historic charming B and B. Each room is unique. Comfortable beds and linens. Cute little town. The breakfast is cooked to order and includes your choice of entree, juice, coffee and tea.

Lf L.

Yelp
Kind staff. Good food at their annual Christmas tea. Beautiful holiday decorations. I live in town but attend events here. In the spring there is an outside sitting area. McCloud is a friendly, slow paced town. Lots of places to hike.

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel in historic building; definitely one of the gems in the area! I can't speak for the hotel accommodation rooms and service, since I have stayed overnight here before, but the dining hall / front room entrance and downstairs hall is warm and charming, with an old-fashioned welcoming vibe that makes one immediately feel at ease. It is definitely a romantic and cozy environment, one that has been used for weddings on many occasion (including my friends and friends of friends of mine), and was met with very favorable reviews and cherished memorable moments. That said, it is one of the finest restaurants in the area; as good or better than many of the tastiest food joints and restaurants I've been to around the world. Highly recommend their dinner menu!! Wow! Well done, McCloud Hotel!! Delightful and ambient atmosphere, scrumptious (mostly organic) food, worth stopping in!

Yelp
Great inn in McCloud and they have a restaurant and pub. Free breakfast. I attended a wedding here and they were wonderful at feeding and serving the crowd. We had the whole place booked to stay - my room was perfect. Cindy is a great proprietor/inn keeper. Grounds are beautiful.

Joyce Z.

Yelp
Boasting 16 rooms and suites in the main inn between two floors, each has its own charm offering free Wi-Fi just in case you really must stay connected but no TV except in the common area downstairs to free you from unnecessary distractions. Cabinets full of simple board games and a plethora of books in their library downstairs will keep you occupied in a tech-no way. Start the day with a cooked to order breakfast for pickup at the lobby to enjoy right at the lobby, back in the room, outside in the porch, or gardens. You can take bed and breakfast literally and have breakfast in bed with a good cozy mystery. Although not chosen for breakfast, the porch ended up being my favorite spot to unwind whether it is enjoying takeout lunch from White Mountain Café right down the street, after chasing waterfalls at Burney and McCloud Falls or kicking my feet up for wine o'clock with a glass of wine after a long drive up or day exploring - https://aroundthebayandaway.blogspot.com/2022/08/return-to-simpler-times-at-mccloud.html After dinner either onsite at the delicious Sage Restaurant or historic downtown just steps away, roast s'mores at the firepit before retiring to your room. One suggestion is I wish they have small tables in all the rooms to enjoy your breakfast or play those board games. I chose 228 because it was one of two that had a table but would've preferred the decor of the neighboring room which definitely had lots of space for one.

Gwen G.

Yelp
We had a wedding there and it was flawless! The rooms were comfortable & clean, the lobby is welcoming & the food is spectacular!

Yelp
Impromptu stay that was an excellent experience. My wife always wanted to stay here and we were very pleased to get a room late into the day. A beautiful, historical building for sure. The room was a niche fishing style decor, wooded floors, art, books, large bathroom and filled with history to the trained eye. All needed modern updates...like the comfy bed. A walk through the hall and grounds are a must. Breakfast is included in the stay and top notch. The staff is pretty invisible...just the way we like it. It's romantic, quiet, comfortable. Thank you.

Yelp
I've been coming to McLeod and staying at the McCloud hotel on and off for at least the last 15 years. There are not a lot of choices in the cloud but irregardless it's still a lovely place to stay. If I have one complaint it's the lack of coffee service until 8 AM. I mean really you've got half dozen to eight guests mulling around with their empty coffee cup in their hand going "may I have some coffee please". The innkeeper is pretty adamant her morning start at eight breakfast starts at eight and when we asked that we were leaving early in the morning to go fishing and I hate to say this but she begrudgingly split the baby and had a little protein box for us at 7:30 AM along with coffee on the second day. But aside from that it's really five stars all the way around. The breakfast that you order that come with the room a bit on the small side but honestly very very delicious offerings. I don't know about the other rooms but my room number 217 was remodeled during Covid with a gorgeous and hammered copper bathtub and slate finished bathroom. The beds were super comfortable and the Internet was strong.

Kathleen K.

Yelp
Charming facility with a very gracious host and crew. We stayed for four nights and enjoyed a lovely happy hour and a large cooked to order breakfast. The room was well appointed and clean and kept cool for the duration of our stay (despite 105 degree heat). The crew was friendly and informative giving us tips on the best places to hike and view the scenery. Would definitely stay here again when we come back to explore Mt. Shasta.

Yelp
It takes a lot for me to go online and write a review these days. I couldn't wait to tell the world about the dinner that we had at Sage Restaurant in the hotel. Truly inspired and one of the best meals we have had in a really long time. The lamb shank was simply incredible and the rest of the meal was equally fantastic. And the service brought it all together. I will drive back from Bend and spend the night just to enjoy this incredible meal again and again! Erick Bend, OR

Yelp
Simply stunning historic hotel with no creepy vibes. We booked a last minute 1 night stay in the copper room and were enveloped in warmth and comfort. The rooms are well appointed with everything you need. The copper tub felt like a transport back in time and very comfortably fit two with robes included. The main common area, boasting a beautiful fireplace, is a perfect place to relax, play games, have a glass of wine or just read. Breakfast, which comes with the room, had an amazing array of foods to choose from. My only complaint is we didn't have enough time to stay longer! Next stay will be longer so we can enjoy the elegant dining room.

Nina W.

Yelp
The pros: The Sage Restaurant and staff do a great job with dinner & service. Husband had the filet & I had the steelhead trout- both perfect. We had a pet-friendly room which was convenient to the east side exit to the garden. Garden access was easy for "last call" and first morning potty. Bed was extremely comfortable, even though we only stayed 1/2 of the first night due to a family emergency. The cons: one of the hotel doggy bowls looked quite used from the previous guest. If you have fragrance sensitivity this hotel isn't for you. The scents used in either the cleaning solutions, detergents/softeners present were quite overbearing not only in the room, but throughout the entire common areas.

Gregory N.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay at McCloud Hotel recently. Charming and well maintained building that wears its age well. Cozy room with sitting area and comfortable bed. And, perhaps most important, a team of super helpful people. Cindy (one of the owners) went above and beyond to make sure we were well cared for. We highly recommend this hotel!

Lee D.

Yelp
Just as lovely as I had hoped. We've wanted to stay here for years and it didn't disappoint. I was surprised there was no tv in the room but there is one in a common room. The internet was very good so we used Netflix. Walking around there were several common areas to relax and enjoy the views and vintage ambience. The bed was very comfortable. We grabbed a vegetable and rice dish to end our night and it was delicious. Breakfast the next day was nice too. All and all this place is a delight! I like to roam the halls when it's quiet at older hotels hoping for a ghost but I found none this visit. But according to the history Spankey and Alfalfa stayed here back in the glory days so there's hope!

Mari V.

Yelp
My partner and I have been coming here for years, and it's high time I write our review, though I see others have given plenty of accolades. We love this bed and breakfast, in a genuinely old hotel with its basic good taste and lacking much of the froufrou of many of these places. Our room is comfortable and spacious and quiet, and the seating downstairs in the lobby or dining room for breakfast is airy and pleasant. Breakfast itself is beautifully prepared, with a big glass of fresh squeezed OJ and a choice among steel cut oatmeal with fruit and maple syrup, ricotta and lemon pancakes, or a traditional American breakfast cooked to order. And, finally, Cindy the innkeeper has always gone out of her way to accommodate our physical disabilities and take care of any issues with the room. Yes, it can be hard to reach anyone by phone sometimes (as one reviewer noted), but keep at it--it's worth it!

Jerry C.

Yelp
This hotel is wonderful. When you first get to the hotel you're just in awe of how beautiful it is. It only gets better as you walk through the front doors. We were greeted with the warmest welcome and easy check-in. The ambiance is very homey and just what we were looking for! Our room was cozy, comfortable, and even had our own dog bed and treats for our furry fella. Breakfast was easy to order and delicious! A true bed and breakfast! We'll definitely be back again! Woof!

Rob S.

Yelp
Buyer Beware There are hidden fees of $60 a day Other than that just a fabulous place to stay and safe.

Catherine F.

Yelp
A charming adventure! We recommend a stay here for anyone looking for an oasis from life's daily turmoil....

Erin M.

Yelp
Such a lovely stay at the McCloud Hotel! Staff were kind & accommodating. Dinner in their restaurant (seated right next to the fireplace) was amazing! They even said we could bring our doggos out to sit with Breakfast included in our stay - I chose the lemon ricotta pancakes Cannot wait to go back again for a relaxing getaway.

Judy M.

Yelp
We had never been to McCloud but we will definitely be back. Such a tiny little town but it's right next to McCloud Falls and the hotel is amazing! So very friendly and the rooms are clean! Great breakfast, great service - we will make this a stop when we're driving up the west coast.

Angela D.

Yelp
I love this place and I'm already thinking of reasons to come back. We picked room 216 because we wanted to make use of the big tub. It was delightful. But, that's not all...the bed was very comfortable and after the long hot soak in the tub, I slept like a baby. The vibe at this place is really cool- kind of a mix between old-school hotel and B&B...the sitting areas found throughout the building are really great. Nice place to gather and chat with people, have a drink or catch up on TV (none in the rooms). And, don't miss breakfast! Delicious! The cheesy polenta cake was killer...yum.

Quinn B.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful B&B. Everything from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out was amazing. The staff was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to satisfy our every request. The restaurant inside Sage is without question the best food in the area as well. The Axe & Rose next door is also wonderful. We absolutely loved our room and the laid back atmosphere through the property.

Darci P.

Yelp
We called quite late for the room ..the lady that answered was very short and asked "Would you like me to book it" After every question I asked..the hotel.was very nice...the room and bed were great..the complimentary breakfast was excellent ..ask for it to be served on a plate not in a box though..I never met the innkeeper at all which is usually a fun part of a bed and breakfast... very close to Mcloud middle falls...breathtaking...

Teri D.

Yelp
Beautiful and lots of charm. A wonderful place to lay your head. Great rooms and the Axe and Rose right next door had really good food and a great selection of beverages. Just a short drive to enjoy McCloud Falls or Lake Siskiyou or the incredible Mt. Shasta. It was a short getaway but I will definitely be back again to visit this sweet little town.

Henry L.

Yelp
My wife and I just celebrated our 53rd anniversary at the McCloud Hotel...We love this place...From the lovely and welcoming owner, Cindy, to the spic and span clenliness, to the tasty and plentiful breakfasts, to the upscale Sage Restaurant on site, it is wonderful...McCloud is a lovely town, 10 minutes away from beautiful waterfalls on the McCloud River, and sitting in the shadow of majestic Mt Shasta...We have enjoyed this Hotel for 9 years and look forward to many more...

Anthony C.

Yelp
Somehow it slipped my mind to review this place. About 2-3 years ago I planned out a weekend trip here for my wife and I to enjoy for Valentines. We stayed two nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The room was nice. It was big and beautiful and historic. The breakfast was fantastic! And we really enjoyed some of the hikes and things that are in the surrounding area. I would most definitely come here again! In fact that is why I remembered to finally review it. Because I am considering planning another Valentines trip here!

Jodi M.

Yelp
Even with restrictions from COVID we really enjoyed staying at the McCloud hotel. The hotel is everything you hope it will be from the photos. The town that the hotel is in is extremely quaint and the hotel it's self is close to a lot of great outdoor activities. The hotel was extremely clean and is taking covid very seriously. Which is good as we were traveling with two small children and worried about stopping on our journey home. We will most definitely want to stay here when we next make the journey that way.

Jane H.

Yelp
I loved staying at the McCloud Hotel I usually don't sleep well when I'm traveling, but I slept soundly at this hotel. It's beautiful in every way and the beauty made me feel at home. The innkeeper, Cindy, also made me feel very comfortable, as well.

Beth S.

Yelp
This is my second time staying at this beautiful hotel. I love everything about it: it is in a gorgeous setting with trees, and old trains. The hotel has so much character with its tall ceilings, large rooms, antique wood furniture. The wifi worked great, the breakfasts were healthy and tasty, and it is dog friendly! I loved that there were no televisions in the rooms. Walking around McCloud is a joy and there is so much hiking in the area where you can even bring dogs.

Chad P.

Yelp
This quaint hotel situated in the middle of an outdoor paradise near hiking, cycling, world class fly fishing, and skiing does not disappoint. I think this was my 6th stay and the rooms are always very nice, service is impeccable, and your room includes a delicious seated and served breakfast. Sage restaurant has a nice menu and a very good wine list. All staff and especially our sever Alayna (Sorry sp) were a treat Looking forward to our next stay!

Larry R.

Yelp
My wife and I were in McCloud on May 1st to attend our granddaughters wedding so we decided to stay at the McCloud Hotel and are we glad we did because we had a delightful experience. If you are looking for a modern, upscale, chain style hotel it might not be what you are looking for. If you are looking for a warm, charming, comfortable hotel filled with antiques nestled in an historic, iconic mill town this is your place! We will return hopefully soon to expand our experience of McCloud and the McCloud hotel. Larry and Bonnie R

Gary G.

Yelp
This historic hotel is a treat to visit. The service is amazing, and the rooms are appointed with antiques and furniture that is so well done!! Our family came up for several days last week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant next door is great as well. They are pet friendly too! Walking the streets in historic McCloud makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. It is friendly, safe, charming......the moan of the train as it passes by, and the church bells on Sunday. Truly a fabulous experience. We will definitely return!

Rhonda R.

Yelp
My stay was superb. Welcoming front entrance! Having to accommodate a safely served breakfast by boxing it (which may be eaten in the common area or taken back to your room), my eggs and pancakes were still hot! I enjoyed a comfy king bed in a very spacious and relaxing room. Additionally, there was a lovely day bed in the room, and still the room felt very large. Enjoying a complimentary glass of wine on the back lawn in the late afternoon added to my relaxing stay. Stellar accommodations and service... Cindy is a gracious host!

renee w.

Yelp
The rooms very cute, cozy and clean. We didn't have a reservation and the nice gentlemen at the desk said let me see what I can do for you and your husband. He did some moving around and found us a room. What a relief l. We will be back

Daniel N.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed on Valentines weekend,it was so relaxing and calm. We had a good time just sitting in front the large fireplace in the lobby. The breakfast was just perfect every morning. Their are some nice places to eat in town as well. We walked most of the town through the neighborhoods. The room was nice and clean service was great. All in all it was a great weekend.

Shelly F.

Yelp
UPDATE: Fortunately, the owner of the hotel was able to move us to a king suite upstairs, so we are hoping to have a much more restful night tonight (update: We did!). We appreciate that the owner is being very accommodating and is mindful of the comfort of her guests. She is very aware of the noise issue, but with a Hotel of this age, it's very difficult to remedy that situation. The hotel offers wonderful amenities, such as a hot tea station in the lobby, as well as electric tea kettle in each guestroom. The Beekman goat milk toiletries were a treat, as were the super soft bed sheets & duvet covers. We would definitely consider staying here again, but definitely in an upstairs guestroom My husband and I are guests in the hotel now, for two nights. We chose this hotel based off the glowing reviews & website photos. While I agree that the hotel is quaint & charming and located in a picturesque area, I have a hard time giving it more than 2 stars, based on our experience thus far. We are in a downstairs bedroom (no 2nd floor rooms were available) and we spent most of last night wide awake due to the noise from upstairs. Whomever is above us was literally up & down all night and it sounded like he/she was stomping around in galoshes! It was constant and incredibly loud. Same with the plumbing noise...you hear EVERYTHING!! Additionally, our bedroom does not have a TV, so we couldn't even turn that on to drown out the noise. I wish the website would reflect this. Lastly, it's nice that the hotel offers a complimentary breakfast (you're instructed to text them your order the night before with your requested pick up time), but ours was supposed to be ready at 9am and it didn't come out till 9:20am and both my turkey sausage & oatmeal were cold. Not too appetizing...We've tried contacting the front desk, but everything is being handled by text and they are not quick to respond. Based on our experience thus far, I have a hard time recommending this hotel and will not be staying here again...

Erin S.

Yelp
We have stayed at many B&B's, the strangest B&B we have ever stayed in. We went for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We were there for 3 nights, we never met the Inn Keeper. When we arrived, there were envelopes with keys to the room. There were drinks available for purchase and candy bars (all notes with the honor system for payment). There was a note for a complimentary glass of wine for one hour in the afternoon at the pub. Just arriving after a 4 hour drive, I had no idea where the pub was and no one was around to ask. I texted the number left at the check in desk, and was advised to go to the pub. When I asked where the pub was, I did not receive a reply until it was too late. The pub was located in a separate building next door. There is a beautiful fireplace, which was did not have a fire when we arrived, on a cold Autumn evening. There was note stating that only the staff would have a fire when staff was present at the Inn. Breakfast was not at all what is shown on their website. It was buffet style, (which we felt was odd for Covid times) the same breakfast every day, it was fine. We did expect homemade options of some sort, granola, oatmeal or a cereal, none of that was available. No juice, or milk. Only Coffee and Tea. That is fine for a Hampton Inn breakfast, but we feel for a bed & breakfast it was a disappointment. We Stayed in room 211, it was nice, but not the description or photo of what was on their website. Our rooms were never cleaned, no option for fresh towels (we had a jacuzzi room, extra towels would have been appreciated), but we did see an envelope to leave a tip for the cleaning staff. We left our keys at the same counter we picked them up at and left for our journey home. About 5 minutes into the drive, my phone rang, it was Cindy, the Inn Keeper (?), manager (?), who called me by the wrong name and told me they forgot to get my credit card and would like payment. I corrected her on my name and gave her my credit card number. After confirming the credit card was in my name, she advised an email receipt would be sent. I did receive it, it was addressed to my husband. Had we stayed in a Hampton Inn I would be fine with the trip. This trip was almost $900.00 for 3 nights, we expected a B & B experience and we felt this stay fell short.

Yelp
We stayed here last night and loved it ! We had dinner on the patio and it was very tasty .. Sage .. the grounds are beautiful flower tree filled and so quiet .. peaceful and pretty

Leslie T.

Yelp
Stayed here for a wedding, it was really cozy and welcoming. We stayed in the guest house which is a bit away from the main hotel, but it was a nice room with a huge bathtub. The breakfast served is great, I highly recommend the lemon to ricotta pancakes, they're phenomenal. I'd love to come back to visit again, even if it's a five hour drive from home for me. The scenery and hospitality are the best points for sure. And the pancakes!

Julie W.

Yelp
Paid over $300 for a room on a Saturday night. Found a lack of customer service with no one at the front desk during our stay -- not at check in, not when we needed ice, nor when we check out this morning. We had a dinner reservation and there was again no one at the front desk or a hostess present. We ended up walking to the brew pub and having pizza and beer instead of the romantic dinner we had planned on. The room was large and very nicely furnished but the little window AC did not work. The room never cooled off during the night -- it was a long hot night and very hard to sleep in 80+ temps. I really wanted to like the hotel. But the lack of customer service and the miserable heat in the room made our stay less than enjoyable.

Mimi M.

Yelp
This is such a fabulous gem. Who would have thought the little town of McCloud would have such an amazing hotel. The charm and historical warmth envelopes you the moment you walk In the door. The staff are so great. We loved the wine hour and sat with the owner in front of a roaring fireplace. The bed was so comfy and the room was exceptional! I want to stay here forever!

Took a tour of this lovely hotel. Beautiful!! Also spoke with the owner. A very nice lady, and so helpful answering questions about the hotel and community. They were all booked for this weekend but looking forward to going online to find some available dates that work for us so we can book a room.

Yelp
The property is so beautiful! Inside the inn was so inviting with a wood fireplace and many comfy couches and chairs. It really does take you back in time! The room had everything you need, that most hotels/inns do not: plenty of towels, robes, q-tips, cotton swabs, makeup remover, hand sanitizer, plenty of outlets for charging, coffee/tea, throws, electric fireplace, games downstairs, books downstairs, etc. The restaurant next door had amazing food and drink options! Cindy was so welcoming and willing to accommodate requests. The breakfast menu and options were made fresh to each order, at the time requested.

Yelp
I saw this at SUNSET Magazine when they recommended this B&B. It was our first time and at first we were worried that we might not enjoy our stay since there are no TV and Internet in the Room, but it turned out to be good. Its nice to unplug sometimes. The Shower was great. Its good to have a strong flow so thats a plus! I had the best Scones ever see my pic here http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mccloud-hotel-mccloud?select=jWKcITHibJW1hEyeFKqmHA#ngrajTClfyf2SHhUNP49ZQ Its only five miles away from Mccloud Upper Middle and Lower Water Falls http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mccloud-hotel-mccloud?select=jWKcITHibJW1hEyeFKqmHA#uzrc9zqn9EK1MtEiCn0QsA Our room was next to a balcony and since we didnt have any TV My husband played his guitar and we sang songs. Its nice warm weather outside versus our foggy daly city. We will definitely come back again. I miss the goat cheese fritters and the scones!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed in the Garden Suite of McCloud Hotel and it was lovely! We love the vintage atmosphere of this hotel. The bed was luxuriously comfortable, the room was spacious with a sitting area and a great jacuzzi bath. The breakfast was delicious. We would definitely return.

Yelp
Stayed four nights at the fabulous, historic McCloud hotel in early July, 2020, with safe social distancing, with innkeeper Cindy Rosmann and crew pampering us and being very mindful of pandemic safety precautions as things started opening up. Unplug, unwind, relax and enjoy! Breakfasts at the McCloud Hotel are superb, Lemon Ricotta pancakes, delicious bacon, coffee and avocado toast...delicious!! Cindy even loaned us maps and guidebooks to help us plan our days. We explored surrounding areas each day to come 'home' to our comfortable and peaceful lodging at the hotel. Highlights were: McCloud Falls, hike to Lower, Middle and Upper Falls. Mt. Shasta City and hike around Mt. Shasta and view summit. Dunsmuir, Botanic Gardens, Sacramento River, Castle Crags, Shasta Caverns. Lake Siskiyou and Castle Lake. Lassen National Park, stargazing and more. Dinner each night at Axe & Rose Restaurant at the McCloud Hotel. Sat on patio and enjoyed the gorgeous gardens and wonderful food. Caesar Salad with Shrimp, apple crisp and great service. yummy. Thanks to Cindy for her gracious hospitality. We will be back soon!

Yelp
The McCloud Hotel and the innkeeper Cindy were just what my soul and my guests needed. I had the chance to rent the entire hotel. I would suggest it for any gathering. It allowed us the option to gather in all of the wonderful areas of the Hotel. The living room is comfortable with couches and rockers. There are tables for games and a beautiful area for breakfast or snacks. There are outside areas with firepits, porches with rocking chairs and grassy areas with couches and chairs. Cindy went above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. I could picture what a wedding could look like in this beautiful setting. I arranged a special dinner for my group and the kitchen next door was able to do a wonderful gourmet meal. I needed some sandwiches for the river. Turkey with cranberry and brie were a hit. If it is for a night or a long weekend this is as lovely a place as you could wish for.
