Lovely ambiance to this place. Nice seating, by a window or in the back for more group privacy. Small outdoor seating area for that café feel. Pricing consistent with similar fair in the area. Nice food well prepared with fresh ingredients but I was not wowed. Still, a nice experience and worth s return trip for something other than their Montana Omelette.

I don’t mind to pay $15 for biscuits and gravy. But at least make them homemade. The frozen biscuits are not good…. Definitely a one time order. Never again:///

Been coming here for year's and the food was always good and the service was always good. Last time I was in the service was bad I brushed it off thinking the girl was just having a bad day. Today the sausage patty was under cooked when I asked for it to be crispy. They remade it and it was still under cooked. I asked for a refund. The girl then said to me. "He literally just cooked it for 5 minutes." Sausage patty are to be cooked 10-12 minutes. She then called her boss to do a refund and stood in front of me and bashed me. Then asked me for my debit card to do a refund. I then let her know I did not pay with a debit card. I paid cashed she gave me the refund and was pissed. No sorry have a good day nothing. Thanks alot to the girl in the checker shirt. Hopefully they can get better help. Extremely disappointing!

This is my first time in years coming back to McCormicks. The young guy that took our order was tired but friendly. The gal with bright orange hair was super friendly and personable. The place was cleaned but super tired looking inside could use a bit of freshening up. I had the granola parfait it was a nice size with equal granola equal strawberries. My brother had Oxford French toast that was good with fruit which we wouldn’t get again. It was just canned fruit with some strawberries for 5.00. Over all we were happy with our meal and will come back! The All Star here was the lattes! My Oh My! They were large sizes, nice n piping HOT. I had one of the BEST PSL EVER! It was so sad as I sipped the last few fleeing sips of the out of this world crazy good PSL. My brother tried macadamia nut white chocolate mocha. It was perfect flavor perfect espresso tastes. He felt the same as I did with my latte. It’s a cute enough hole in the wall places, I was happy to try it again.

Good food, fluffy eggs, great service with a smile 😃 left with my stomach and heart happy.

The atmosphere here is so cozy and eclectic you go order at the counter then go pick your table. My caramel macchiato was very tasty and the food was so good!!

Google
Stumbled upon this place downtown and it was amazing. Really enjoyed their cobb salad and sandwiches.

Google
I've only eaten here for breakfast, but it was amazing food. They have kind of a short menu for breakfast, but what they have is amazing. I had the Steak and eggs. My accompanying friends had the crepes and Biscuits & Gravy. To that of with unlimited coffee refills, the Dancing Goat coffee is great but the way, everyone was thoroughly satiated.

Yelp
Breakfast sandwich was amazing. Definitely worth a share... Portions were very large. So good.

Randy R.

Yelp
The service was fast. Went there for breakfast with a friend having a birthday. The Eggs Benny was just ok. Nothing special

Dj C.

Yelp
Overpriced and mediocre. It got the job done but the pricing left a lot to be desired. $15 eggs benedict had a strange citrus flavor. Roasted potatoes were cooked fairly well, needed more crisp but the Parmesan topping was a nice touch. $7 mimosas made with cheap champagne for two swallows of liquid made me sad.

Yelp
ZA great place to meet for coffee, breakfast or lunch. City Brew's "Dancing Goats" coffee is its specialty blend. I stick with the basics, i.e. bacon, eggs and toast for either meal and its always good. McCormick supports local artists as a member of ArtWalk and displays from area artists. Not big on ambience and service can be spotty, but I just roll with it.

Yelp
Excellent food. Friendly staff. Service is not the fastest but it's a quite relaxing atmosphere to wait for your food to come out.

Yelp
The food here is great, but as others have said, I really could do without the Newsmax disinformation right in my face as I order. The sandwiches at Great Harvest are excellent, too, without the nauseating propaganda confronting you as you try to enjoy your BLT.

Yelp
Went in for breakfast and was disappointed in the service and food. Ordered a crepe and it had no filling with limited sauce on it and it was very expensive. My mom order scrambled eggs and she had to order toast separately for 3.50 and it took long time to get it. We asked about the toast and the waitress was very rude. We won't be going back.

Yelp
I've been here a many times over the years, but the food quality has really taken a dive lately. It's a nice location and it'd be great if it was a nice restaurant. I went in November and was pretty disappointed with the food went back in December and it was even worse. Mostly I'm leaving this review because no one working was wearing a mask.

Yelp
Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, even when I asked a bunch of questions about ingredients for my autoimmune disease. Great burrito - ample size and good ratio of fixings. My son Isaac had "everything " crepes - he said very flavorful. I had the Toucan on gluten free bread - good flavor, next time I would add spinach just for extra veggies. French toast was excellent also.

Yelp
This place looked good on Yelp. I really like the decor and ambiance but the food was mediocre at best. The hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict was not lemony. The fried potatoes were awful with some kind of mystery powder sprinkled on the. As you can see in the picture the cheese on the Toucan breakfast sandwich was burnt on the edges. I'd try this place again as it appears the breakfast burrito is the hot item.

Yelp
First time here and we really enjoyed it! Friendly service, charming atmosphere and great food! Glad we found it!

Yelp
My family and I were traveling from western Montana back to MN. We stopped at so many lovely places, and unfortunately McCormicks Cafe was not one of them. We ordered 2 breakfast burritos without meat for our vegetarian group members, 2 breakfast sandwiches with meat for the meat eaters and 2 pancakes for the kids on board. As we waited for our order we heard other cashier making fun of our order to another server for us asking for some items without meat, perhaps this middle aged women is not aware that some people do not consume meat so our group members have different diet needs and therefore would order different food. On our way out of town and eating the food, our vegetarian members found that while they had taken out the sausage for the breakfast burritos there was still bacon in the burritos and would not be able to eat them. We were pretty disappointed, since we were already out of town and on our way home and did not have the ability to turn around and come back to notify the cafe of the mistake. The cafe had seemed like a nice place to stop so we ate all pretty disappointed with the customer service and the food mistakes especially as it was not a very busy time of day when we ordered. We would not be stopping there again if we were ever in town. The food was reported as mediocre at best even for those who were able to eat it.

Yelp
I rarely eat downtown but was down for a dr appt and wanted to take my daughter out for lunch. Have heard over the years that the McCormick is really good. Ehh. We both got a wrap and maybe wraps just aren't their thing, not really flavorful. It has only been a few hours and I've already forgotten what I ordered. Dimly remember avocado and watery lettuce. The fries I paid extra for were yummy, probably came out to 10cents a fry. Not really worth the money. The person behind the counter who took our order was nice and efficient. Then she left and some other woman took over who's goal in life was to watch the cook make meals, watch tv or stand outside smoking. I got the feeling she was an owner or maybe a friend of the owner for the lack of caring about her job. We have decided that maybe we'll try a breakfast item if we go again. Is a nice atmosphere and loads of tables to sit at.

Adriana Y.

Yelp
The last two times that I went there, there was a hair (literally a foot long) in my food. They make you pay before you get the food and once you get your food not a single worker checks on you. Not to mention their water tastes like it was out of a ditch.

mj l.

Yelp
Went here because our first choice, Legacy Coffee, wasn't open. We were tired from hours on the road and my husband likes good espresso. So we go in and ask the woman at the counter if she knows how to make a macchiato? Yes, she answers. So we order breakfast and coffee and we have to pay up front. Well, she brings a big-ass cup filled with milk. Nope, that's not how you make it. So she tries again. My husband says, two shots espresso, and just a thin film of foam on the top. She brings out almost exactly what she brought the first time. He won't drink it. So I ask for a refund and she gives it to me grudgingly. To add insult to injury, we both got covid five days after being there. Haven't ever had covid since the pandemic started, in 2 years. So we got bad coffee, bad food, and likely got covid. Horrible experience all around. Zero stars for McCormick Cafe.

Yelp
The Employees don't wear masks. To soon for that. Guess that's why I was the only customer in the place.

Yelp
I love this local joint. My favorite breakfast is the stuffed French toast. Spectacular. Add some fresh squeezed orange juice and tasty hot coffee and you have a dank breakfast. The staff is always super friendly too.

Yelp
This place was recommended by Hilton to try. I had the loaded omelet and it was terrific, I had a long day before the next chance to eat. It was huge and I ate the whole thing.
google avatar

Tim M.

Yelp
Cold coffee, visible food remnants under tables, visible dirt on tables. Workers sitting around, not doing anything. Cashier didn't know what was on an egg sandwich. She said it should say on menu board. Pointed out there was nothing on menu board except Egg Sandwich. This is probably the worst breakfast place I have ever visited. I wish 0 stars was an option.
google avatar

Kelly F.

Yelp
Good for a quick breakfast; the staff was friendly and the coffee was good. There is a private parking lot making it easy to access in downtown. The restrooms could use a good cleaning.
google avatar

Amanda P.

Yelp
Well, at least the toast was good. Coffee was burnt and cold. I think the omelet was made in the microwave. Unevenly cooked and flavorless.

Yelp
McCormick's is how breakfast should be...mellow, comforting, and delicious. I was playing tourist that day and figured I should check out some of the mom and pop shops in town. McCormick's was close to my hotel and I walked there, thus building up the appetite. I started out with fresh squeezed O.J and ordered the Toucan (eggs, tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms over a slice of white bread smeared with green onion cream cheese AND THEN topped with jack cheese). I was in breakfast coma heaven and did not need to eat the rest of the day. Tasty and a must eat for everyone, whether you are a tourist or a local.

Yelp
The staff was super friendly, and the food was decent. One guy had mentioned how they just made it through a rush, so I would like to give it another try sometime. The burger was just way over cooked, I get food safety, but it was past that. And my monte cristo was delicious, but when I squeezed it it just oozed with grease. Could he just how they serve them, i think I'll just try something else on my next visit.

Yelp
Really love this place.. Its always a little busy but the food is worth it.I had the Parisian crepes.. Omg.. Light and fluffy.. Mom had the French toast.. She loved every bite.

Yelp
Due to road closures in Wyoming, found ourselves driving across Montana and pulled into town to find some lunch. Popped into this place and was blown away by the friendly service, excellent food, and comfortable ambience. I will definitely be back. Free wi-fi and a couple of internet terminals as well.

Judy L.

Yelp
Ordered breakfast waited 25 minutes. It was cold. Butter wouldn't even melt on the toast. Tables not cleaned off and when they cleaned them they didn't wipe them down with a wet cloth. Won't go back for awhile. Used to be our favorite but no more.

Jason H.

Yelp
Great local place with a good variety of lunch and breakfast. Service and employees were very welcoming and the food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the crepe. Finally, the coffee is fresh and refills are free. I will certainly return.
google avatar

Ml D.

Yelp
The quality has really, really slipped. I tend to judge by the basics, and the basics here need some work. The coffee is basically really really hot water. The rolls and other pastries taste and feel not as if they are day old, but DAYS old. I think their Salsa is probably Pace. This place needs some changes.

Yelp
This place is one of my top three favorite places here in Billings. I've had the French Toast which was off the chain. Couldnt decide if it was breakfast or dessert. I've also had brat that was wrapped in a herb bread and it was okay. Ive seen the omlets and can tell you that is what I'm trying next. I havent had lunch here yet so I'll get back to you on that. McCormick is coffee shop style with the size and quality of a good resturaunt. I also have morning meetings here because there is so much space and serve yourself coffee. The coffee is also really good! Thank you McCormick for being the go to breakfast/coffee spot!
google avatar

Monique L.

Yelp
If the locals eat here they must not have any standards. The breakfast sandwich "croissant " was a hamburger bun sliced on the diagonal! We were served COLD potatoes at 7:20 am- lame! Would never return.

Yelp
I have had two negative experiences in the last couple of months. The first, I came in with my husband who was using a walker, from a knee surgery. I ordered our breakfasts, we sat for 45 minutes without an employee coming by to speak to us, and watched the three other tables, two of which came in after us be served. Finally when I asked the cashier she stated the cooks never got the order and they had just realized it, I asked for our money and tip back as my husband could not sit there any longer. The second time was this week when a friend and I order together, I received my meal with toast, when I had ordered an English muffin, the potatoes were try and unseasoned. My friend received her breakfast 20 minutes after mine, only when she asked where it was. The eggs were over cooked and the rest cold, the staff unapologetic. I won't be back.

Yelp
Popped into McCormick Cafe on a recent visit to family in Montana. Honestly, just going to say it up front: I was not a fan. There are quite a few places in Billings to eat that are substantially better and I don't see any need to come back here. First, the menu is on the wall to your right after you walk through the door. It is above tables, so those people get to feel like you're staring at them while you decide what you would like to eat. Meanwhile, there is no organization to ordering. It is just a crowd of people staring at the menu and attempting to order at a counter. Perhaps a stanchion could do the trick? Next, when ordering, several menu items were "unavailable" or "out." Make enough food to serve your menu or don't have a permanent menu. They also wouldn't serve their lunch and breakfast menus at the same time. Since it was still 15 minutes til they started the lunch menu, I was stuck on the breakfast menu. The food was ok. I ordered the bratwurst wrap with potatoes. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever eaten, but wasn't the best either. It was like a giant "pig-in-a-blanket." The brat in the middle was tasty, but it had wayyyyy too much breading on it and the breading was too hard. Still acceptable, though. Now, on to the potatoes. The potatoes themselves were good and cooked properly, but they were covered, and I mean covered, with parmesan cheese. I love parmesan, but this was awful. I wound up having to shake off my potatoes. Honestly, this place doesn't deserve 2 stars, but wasn't bad enough to deserve a 1. This is a solid 1.5. Meh.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in awhile. I came in with my wife and baby, ordered a burger and a salad, and sat down. We waited patiently for 30 minutes. Impatiently for 15 more minutes. They weren't even particularly busy. It was a Tuesday afternoon after the peak lunch hour. My burger and bacon apparently had been left on the griddle for the entire 45 minutes - it was unrecognizable black char by the time it got to our table. The fries apparently had some sort of accident with a pepper shaker as they were black with the excessive or perhaps overzealous pepper shaking. My wife's salad was gross at best. Wilted spinach, room temperature or warmed dressing. It was very salty, which is not very good for a fruit salad. I work at the hospital, so I didn't have the luxury of sending the food back and waiting another 45 minutes for another meal. I won't be coming back here, and I will tell my friends and family to do the same.

Yelp
Visiting family in Billings, MT and we wanted to find a great place for brunch. It was suggested we stop by McCormick Cafe. It was ok. I'm not used to ordering food and then trying to find a table. The menu was limited and I ended up just getting two poached eggs on toast. My yolks were over cooked which was disappointing. Other people at the table ordered French Toast-looked pretty good. I wish they had a beer/wine license. With brunch I like a mimosa or something fun. Was it wonderful, no. Was it terrible, no. To me it was just so so.

Yelp
We booked the back room for a luncheon buffet after a funeral service. Thank you to Charley for coordinating this -- it was perfect. Everything was ready when we showed up -- sandwiches, chips, fruit salad, homemade cookies and brownies. It was relaxed and warm. We were able to use the video projector to show our tribute DVD again -- great sound and a large screen. The day before, we dropped in for breakfast, and it was excellent. I would definitely return!

Yelp
Lovely little brunch place with good food and awesome coffee. The lady who took our order was so nice she gave us a free coffee coupon off of the coupon book. I ordered sunny side up eggs but got over easy instead. Even before I said anything she brought extra sunny side up eggs and apologized.

Yelp
This place was incredible! I was just driving through billing on a long road trip, and it was great to have such delicious food on the road. I chose the touscan, as others have recommended, and it was delicious. The environment was quaint and quiet, and the coffee delicious. Would definitely recommend to anyone passing through!

Yelp
The best thing about this place for us was the coffee. Both the house blend and dancing goats were tasty and had robust flavor. When ordering I was told the waffle of the day was blackberry... What I got was a plain waffle with cut up strawberries. That was a miss. My husband got the two eggs plate with sausage. The sausage was WAY over cooked. One star is for the comfy decor and laid back atmosphere.

Yelp
I am so sorry to say that I did not enjoy my experience at McCormick Cafe. After having bookmarked it for 3 months as a "must go to" place, my husband and daughter went without me about a month ago. They had an omelet, and really enjoyed it. Then my husband and I went about a week ago. The service was really awkward, and not in a good way (is there a good way?). We ordered an omelet and a spinach and strawberry salad. As usual, we asked for no cheese on the omelet. I would feel bad that we do this everywhere we go, I mean, as a foodie, it hurts me a bit to order anything that is altered from the way the chef intends it to be, but we tip well, so I feel better. The fact of the matter is, we do eat cheese on occasion, but only at restaurants we fully trust to make something so amazing that we are willing to have a stomach ache for a day and a half afterwards. We weren't to that point yet with McCormick Cafe, so no cheese on our omelet, please. The omelet wasn't really great; it was actually not even hot, and I had a terrible stomach ache the next day from the huge amount of cheese that was on it (and in it). I know, I should have sent it back. We would have, but we didn't really like asking our server for anything up until then, and it took a while to get our order out the first time. A girl's got to go to work, so we just didn't have the time to wait again. I think the salad dressing was a kind of balsamic reduction at one point, but it was SUPER sweet; the salad itself was good. We visited during lunch, so I had a hot tea. The staff wasn't sure if any of the loose leaf tea options were caffein free; in fact, they told me the only caffein free option was chamomile. I wasn't really into feeling sleepy after lunch, so I asked what other options they had. Spearmint was one of them, so I asked, "Your spearmint tea has caffeine?" They weren't sure, so I took a a risk and tried it. Again, it was loose leaf, and, unfortunately their steeping spoons didn't hold all of the leaves back, so I had a lot of the tea in the bottom of my cup, which isn't a big deal to most people, but worth noting. So, overall, it wasn't horrible. But, it wasn't great. It wasn't fun, and as much as I feel awful for saying it, I really didn't like the experience as a whole. Lots of people love McCormick Cafe, though. If I wanted cheese on my omelet and love sticky, sweet salad, I probably would have liked the place a lot more. I'm so sorry I didn't. Maybe my tips can simply help when you try it out for yourself.

Yelp
I came into McCormick's as a classic weary traveler (just after sleeping off a 12 hour trip from SLC, during a cross-country road trip). I was happy to find a friendly cafe, filled with genuine people and seriously good food. I enjoyed a very well-made cheese topped veggie omelet (one of the few that I've ever had that was without a massive grease puddle -- way to go!) and a mug of loose-leaf tea. Perfect for breakfast. Also has some Internet access. Also, replying to the review below, I received breakfast around 10:30 without a problem -- perhaps the policies have changed?

Yelp
Way overpriced! Poor food quality. And horrible service. Would not recommend ever going here

Yelp
Definitely where the locals have breakfast. It was quite busy when we arrived, and a madhouse by the time we left. That being said I had high hopes for this place. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the staff was very friendly and helpful, but that is the highlight of our experience. The food is your generic processed fare. I ordered the Montana Avenue Omelet with bacon, peppers and mushroom and that was it. No sides included, just the omelet and for the price, definitely not worth it. The Guy had the biscuits and gravy special along with a side of banana bread. The banana bread was good, but the gravy was odd. Neither one of us has ever seen biscuits and gravy where the gravy was yellow. Needless to say, he was not impressed and didn't finish it. I also got an Irish Cream latte for the road, and shockingly this was the worst latte I have ever had. So bad that I dumped most of it. In the end, it was severely disappointing and if I ever venture to Billings again, I will definitely pass on this place.

Yelp
Friendly service. Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Interesting menu, not very "traditional". I had the Toucan Breakfast which was very unique and very good. Good coffee, they give you a cup and you get your own coffee (and refills). They have an espresso machine so they can make fancier coffee drinks. Free Wi-fi. They have a patio but I'm not sure whether it's dog-friendly. They only serve breakfast until 10:30 a.m.

Paige H.

Yelp
I wanted to love this little cafe/coffee shop so much because of the cool building and friendly staff, but I've eaten there twice and both times the food was just not good. Last time was the most disappointing. I ordered their special, a scramble with breakfast potatoes, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, ham, bacon, and cheese. My scramble arrived without the potatoes and bacon, but the worst part about it was that the vegetables were completely raw. I'm not kidding. Imagine eating a bunch of raw onion and mushrooms that were tossed with some scrambled eggs. There was absolutely no saute on the veggies, unlike any scramble I've had (or made myself) before. Some raw tomato is fine, but really, a ton of raw red onion with scrambled eggs? They have "Best Breakfast in Town" stamped on their menu, but you could get a better breakfast at Denny's.

Yelp
I hear great things about this local spot. Would love to be able to review it but THEY STOPPED SERVING BREAKFAST AT 10 AM. I sent my friend here and he had to make do with a pecan bar and a cappuccino at 10:10 am BECAUSE THEY STOPPED SERVING BREAKFAST AT 10 AM and wouldn't allow him a grace period. Did I mention they STOPPED SERVING BREAKFAST AT 10 AM? What kind of breakfast place is this?? Do they cater to the shoemaker's elves (who get off work at dawn and are ready for a hearty omelette)? I'm afraid I'll never make it in early enough to weigh in on this one...

Yelp
We are from out of town and like to try the local favorites. Our order wasn't right, they made us the wrong crepe, we ordered the Nutella crepe and they brought us the lemon. We waited for the right one. My daughter decided she didn't like Nutella once she finished it. (Too rich) I had the Monte Cristo it was very good with fruit. My son had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich it was good but comes with tortilla chips. We upgraded for $1.00 to get fries but they didn't bring them. When I asked about the fries our meal was mostly devoured and we didn't want to wait for them. They offered to refund my $1.00 or give us a scotcheroo to go. We took the dessert. We also orders a white confetti cup cake-it was not good.

Yelp
From the vast majority of reviewers this place seemed like a good enough choice for lunch. The staff was fairly nice and the atmosphere was alright...aside from the show tunes that were playing in the background. I ordered an Avacado burger, no bun. The woman asked me how I wanted it done, I said medium. 40 minutes later, here comes a char-boiled, ash-tasting burger. I was starving so I ate it, but got very sick afterwards. If you're going to ask me how I want my burger, make it that way, please! Paying 10$ for a small piece of hard, charred meat is not my idea of a good time. This place failed me big time, maybe they are better for breakfast...

Yelp
Have eaten here for breakfast very often and have enjoyed a lot of the menu items. Favorite is the Tucan. It's very creative and delicious. The coffee is also especially good. The crepes are a local favorite and amazingly tasty with nutella. Order at the counter and food is delivered to you. Coffee and sodas are self-serve. By the way, it can be very busy on the weekends for bfast as most of the downtown restaurants can be but is well worth the wait. Try this place out if you're looking for a lighter meal with flavor umph. If you're looking for a big, ma-and-pa, grease-and-spoon place, this isn't it.

Yelp
$7.95 for the toucan breakfast as of 6/16/2011. Omelette was good (7.95 for three "toppings" ; dollar extra for all toppings. Breakfast come with a little side of great homemade salsa for your eggs. They call it sauce, but it's salsa. I liked it!! Cool historic building. Clean, fast enough, and tasty. Minus one star because I think the price per plate should come down a dollar.
