"When Berlin was divided, Checkpoint Charlie was the most famous of the border crossings between the eastern and western halves of the city. It was here that Allied soldiers registered before crossing over into the Soviet-controlled sectors. Thanks to its appearances in Cold War thrillers from Bond movies to John Le Carré novels, it has become a symbol of that era in the city’s, and world’s, history. A small museum nearby includes a replica of the guardhouse that once stood here."

We were order number 256 for dine-in, and we waited for order 45 minutes — or more. Surprisingly, we saw that order number 278 got their food before us. It seemed like the kitchen wasn’t preparing the food in order, and I really had no idea how they managed the queue. When we asked the staff, they simply told us to wait. But by that point, we had already been waiting for nearly an hour. All we could do was watch other people who ordered after us receive their meals before us. Finally, we got the food after waiting for 55 min, and found out that they forgot some orders.

McDonald’s should be system Gastro. Unfortunately if they remove the fries 25 seconds earlier from the oil, they really taste not good. Can understand they have stress and quite allot of costumers. When I visited it was not busy, but soft fries is not what I want. The burger and the chicken nuggets was ok. Coke with very little ice, due just did not care about it. To the manager of the place. I assume you should train your staff better, to follow the system.

What is this!? I came here tonight to give myself a little treat since I'm feeling low and having trouble eating. Instead of comfort food I get to look forward to a night of dry heaving thanks to the at best negligent actions of the staff. I ordered a totally normal big vegan ts & paid at the kiosk. It was a slow night. There is therefore no possible imaginable justification for giving me a real meat burger, absolutely drowning in so much spicy sauce on both buns that it was sloshing out as I picked up the burger. I tried to grin and bear it anyway only to realise halfway through that it's a real meat patty that I couldn't identify because the sauce was so thick. I haven't eaten meat in over a decade, and don't have the enzymes in my stomach to painlessly digest it any longer. Messing with people's diets when you don't even know a single thing about them beyond what they ordered is beyond the pale. It's disgusting and violent behavior that can make people seriously ill. Judging by previous reviews, this seems to be a trend meriting investigation and real accountability and consequences if you find it's the same employee(s) regularly choosing to subject unsuspecting customers to unprovoked biological warfare. At the VERY least, you owe me a full refund and an apology!

Great location but its always super busy here. It usually takes a bit longer than at regular McDonald’s. The restaurant is very clean and modern. The staff speaks good English. The food is made in a rush and not always looks good. If you dont come during prime time, the food usually tastes on point and you get everything served fairly quickly.

Stopped in at McDonald’s Friedrichstr. after a long day exploring Berlin. Service was quick, and the fries were actually hot and crispy—always a win. The place was pretty busy but still clean, and it’s super convenient if you’re near the station. Not gourmet, but exactly what you expect from McDonald’s, right in the heart of the city.

McDonald's is never a good idea, especially when there are good restaurants around. I went here just for the WC. Signs said it was for customers only, so I got a burger. Then when I went to show my receipt, the lady at the restroom seemed very exasperated, demanded €0.50, and told me I'd have to wait a very long time. No thanks.

Google
Worst experience ever at a mcdonalds. Had to wait over an hour for food just for it to come cold and with hardly any taste. Needs better management to ensure they can keep up with demand right next to checkpoint Charlie, at one point orders were just being put in a pile at the service desk as shown in the photo. Also have to pay 50 cent to use the bathroom, absolutely disgusting!

A very handy place to charge my phone! Helpful staff and location was clean. Food brought to the table and plenty of self-service kiosks for those that want them.

Yelp
I was craving a true western delicacy and nothing but McDonalds would do. It did not disappoint, would not recommend coming to the checkpoint Charlie location when the sun goes down, it was looking a little skid row.

Yelp
This McDonalds is a perfect place to eat and/or use the restroom during a visit to Checkpoint Charlie. This location has two levels and an outside patio on the 2nd level that over looks Checkpoint Charlie. The restroom is free with any purchase or 50 cents without a purchase. We stopped in for some ice cream

Yelp
Easy I realize the historic significance of Checkpoint Charlie would not extend to the American fast food places around it. That said, it is still hard as a US tourist not to notice a McDonald's just feet away. I've seen McDonald's in some rather inappropriate places a few times, but this one feels like it belongs. But why travel to Germany to eat at a McDonald's? It was quick and easy, as opposed to discovering a new local place with an unfamiliar menu. I was in a hurry to pick up some food to take back to the hotel and to me, getting a burger from this particular location just felt special. The food was good. I had a Classic from their Signature Collection and a large fry. I don't think we have a Signature Collection back home so this was something a little different, or maybe something the same and just marketed differently. Either way it tasted good and I love McDonald's fries. It all disappeared quickly. My order taker was helpful and it wasn't busy when I stopped in rather late this evening. From what little I looked around the place seemed fine and I was in and out with my food in just a few minutes. As McDonald's go, this one was good.

Yelp
This Mcdonald's store is located in a decent location, in the "American Quarter" of Checkpoint Charlie, it is fairly close to other rival chains nearby such as KFC and Domino's. In the American Quarter, a good amount of big American brands have locations, such as this Mcdonald's store, Starbucks as well as rivals KFC and Domino's. Inside, this store is okay, it is quite a cool feature to have a large McCafe cup outside, which is quite unusual and unique compared to other Mcdonald's stores I have visited throughout Europe, including locations in the likes of London, Manchester, Paris, Barcelona and Rome. The staff didn't seem too friendly, basically typical Mcdonalds staff. There was a satisfactory amount of seating. Due to the touristy location, this branch is slightly busier than others, the location as mentioned is good in the Checkpoint Charlie area of Berlin, but I feel as this store just for me seems more of a touristy hotspot if anything (like the Checkpoint Charlie location), and other factors such as service not being fantastic, I feel this branch deserves just a two-star rating.

Yelp
Well equipped Mac: four displays to make an order, zone for waiting, second floor, terrace with outside tables, small playground for children. Unfortunately personal is very slow, it's really annoying to wait your order in the weekend. And of course location is very nice, right in the center between most well known sights of Berlin.

Yelp
I like this McDonald's because you can order from kiosks and pick up your food at the counter! No need to talk to a cashier. Also, you can hang out and watch the tourists as they check out Checkpoint Charlie. I love foreign McDonalds because they tend to have better quality food and flavors that are catered for their specific people.

Yelp
Dear tourists, nice that you've visited the Checkpoint Charlie! The McDonalds restaurant located here offers the same range of fast food as you find it in the stores in the rest of the world. This store is clean and has a very nice roof terrace. The staff is friendly. The food meets the required standard. Still, I can't really recommend it to anyone who wants to eat well and healthy. The culinary diversity of Berlin has to offer much more! If you want to experience real culture and really good food, you have to walk a few meters to explore the area around the checkpoint. It is worthwhile if you want to eat tasty. Have fun and enjoy your meal in Berlin!
